Great stuff on the day off, Truff :) Your friend sounds lovely - hopefully you'll be buying her some top gifts v soon. My sickness started tailing off in wk 13 and that's the most common scenario, apparently. Suddenly, one day in wk 15 I realised I hadn't vommed for @ a week and the nausea had all but gone. Everything crossed that this is the case for you.

Well, not legs crossed Wink

PS Do any of the others in the Hurty Flange Crew have probs actually doing their pelvic floor exercises now? Mine is really resisting any effort now (hope this is cos the baby is heavy and ready to go, not cos it's knackered).

OP posts:
Ivegotmrbitey · 16/05/2011 21:09

Ooh thanks truff! I'm doing a nekkid dance right back at you only you won't be able to tell due to 1970s bushiness Grin glad your lunch went well and you and your friend were all good. Fab news re the vomming too! Mine stopped round fifteen weeks- it was amizzzin!

rocketleaf · 16/05/2011 21:22

Ah truffs glad your friend has got her head round it a little bit, sounds lovely. I am sure after the initial shock she is just very very pleased for you. Good news about the pukiness abating too! Time to start enjoying being diffed.

bitey your boss sounds like an arse. :( sending him/her an ESHsmash!!!! to the side of the head.

Signing in to the hurty flange crewz, front of hips and lower pelvis are pretty bad if I sit on the ball for too long but I dont want to lounge on the sofa too much either so trying to oscillate between the two. I think I might just fill the pool and live in there for the next 4 weeks. Also the peeing situation is getting laughable, I suppose this is all a good sign and so far I can still do Kegels so thats a bonus although have been close to some Tena moments recently.

In good news, I managed to eat my dinner without getting it down me today. Small wins eh?

Also finished patchwork cover for cork board thingy for the nursery today so now just to get busy with the staple gun (the bit I have been looking forward to most! Tools, bitches!)

ps score i really think you need to cut a little V behind MILs ear before letting her anywhere NEAR The Lad. Just to check for lizard skin.

Scorpette · 16/05/2011 21:45

I would, Rocket, but I think it would mess up her circuitry and send her into killer-robot mode. There's going to be some awkward chats about personal hygiene when she can be arsed to see him, that's all I know.

I daren't sit on my ball cos it's a crappy fiver exercise one and it squashes so low when I get on it that I'm scared it will pop! I've not got any food down me today either - perhaps the near-incontinence and messy eating will help us empathise better with our baybees?

laurielou · 17/05/2011 08:09

Morning one & all, especially my fellow flange-failers Grin

Occs Belated Happy Birthday! Sounds like a lubberly weekend.

God, my bloody brain. I'm so sorry, I've literally just caught up on fred & can't remember who said what Blush

Bitey (possibly) being consultant lead for a bit...... I hope it all goes well. I agree that sometimes they refer you just to cover their arses. I was consultant lead for all of 20 mins after mentioning a slipped disc about 8 years ago. Consultant umm & ahhed & said "Well you go to yoga & sleep with a pillow between your knees. I'm happy for you to be MW lead". But if you need to be consultant lead you follow many an ESH, all of whom have produced some pretty fantabulous baybees.

Truff glad you had a good day off. Your friend sounds fab. Funnily I met with a diffed mate yesterday who's sister has gone through every procedure known to man in order to try & get diffed. Ironically she found out she was diffed the same time (twice) as my friend, but sadly her pregnancies were not to be. They are usually so, so close, but she cannot bring herself to talk to my friend, & has booked a long holiday for when the baby is due. Such a sad situation from both sides. You & your friend sound like you have a very strong bond. Lovely.

Scorps I have no words for your MIL. She leaves me open mouth & aghast on many occasions. You have been very restrained.

Apart from achy-breaky flange I don't think laying is imminent. Sorry to disappoint. Anyway, fave uncle went on hols yesterday for a week & I've had strict intructions to keep my legs crossed until he returns Grin.

Bacon sarnies anyone?

owlbooty · 17/05/2011 10:13

God I could murder a bacon sarnie.

I have what I thought might be the onset of SPD but have now decided it is just my ligaments failing dismally. So not quite flangefail but almost in that it is causing me to hobble around like an old bugger; pregnancy is most undignified. I am being overtaken in the street by people with zimmer frames.

Truffleyone hoorah and hoorah again for the end of the puking! That is a fabulous moment when you realise that you actually fancy something to eat instead of trying to force down things and pray they won't reappear. I remember my first chocolate bar fondly and I wasn't even sick during the first 12 weeks, I lost quite a lot of weight though as couldn't bring myself to eat anything except boiled sweets and bitter lemon drink.

Is anyone else of the July/August clusterlay group finding that they can no longer eat a proper sized meal without horrible bloat and indigestion setting in? I am not impressed with this development at all.

Ginfox · 17/05/2011 10:15

I'll have a sarnie Lulu .

Day 2 of ML. Didn't get off to a flying start as my Gran was rushed into hospital at the weekend with a bowel obstruction, so have been in and out of hosp to visit her. She's doing ok, but longer term prognosis not good Sad.

Scorps, you should win a nobel prize for being patient with ILs. I would've severed relations long before now - we have a zero-tolerance policy in our house. Also good news on successfully feeding face, not top of bump. I have recently become the clumsiest person ever, and am genuinely concerned that I will not be able to cuddle the foxcub unless a safety net is in place.

Rocket what is the cork-board thingy you are making? I have bought staple gun so I can re-upholster an old blanket box, although clumsiness is making me think I should involve an expert. I would be so ashamed to visit my colleagues in A&E for staple extraction purposes.

Any news on BabyBing?

Ginfox · 17/05/2011 10:21

Wol, it has been ages since I ate a whole plateful of food. I usually have half of what I've cooked, and have left-overs for lunch next day - just can't physically get it down in one sitting. But indigestion seems to kick in after I've been in bed for 10 mins, so every night I think I've got away with it, then it starts and I have to sit up for a while til it calms down.

The nice lady on my differs yoga DVD tells me every day that pregnancy is a "magical experience". I'm glad she's there to remind me Grin

Orchid12 · 17/05/2011 10:27

Truffles good work on the sickness front - I do hope that this is it for you now and you can enjoy the next bit. Your friend sounds lufferly too - what lovely pressies. Fingers crossed it's her turn soon and you can do the same in return Smile

rocketman your talents are never ending! I envy your creativity. What a lucky girl sprout is to have all these nice things being made for her.

Scorps what an inconsiderate DIL you are. Best get laying before Friday, come on now, surely you can do it to order Hmm. Permission to tell your MIL to bugger off. She really does not deserve newborn suffles with The Lad anymore. You'll be better served just keeping it to your family anyway, so may be a good thing if you can keep your legs crossed 'til Friday!

I'm joining the tena lady gang. TBH, I haven't done at all well throughout the entire PG on that front, but now I daren't be more than five minutes from a toilet, or sneeze/cough etc without crossing my legs first. It's not the most dignified at all! I have no idea what state my bladder and pelvic floor is going to be in after squidge is born....

Owlie I am also hobbling and suffering terrible reflux. I have reflux pretty much all day long. I don't remember this from mini O so maybe this time I am destined to have a baby with lots of hair? Mini O is still pretty bald and he'll be 3 in Sept! I tried strawberry milkshake yesterday and that seemed to work for a while.

In our news, Mr O has once again decamped to the spare room because of my snoring. I have no issue with this apart from him leaving the door open. I normally keep it closed because it's the nursery too and full of squidge's clothes that I need to put away and the carrycot etc. I am fairly certain our cats will do what rockets did and spray everything in sight so would prefer him to lock himself away!

Ivegotmrbitey · 17/05/2011 10:34

Grin at foxy and magical experience. Although my disappearing libido was an impressive vanishing act! Really sorry to hear about your Gran though, that's very sad news.

owlie I can't do justice to a full plate any more. Am furious as had plans involving all you can eat buffets, a cast iron differ pass and maternity jeans.

My moan of the day is that I wake up at three am every morning for a wee and then lie in bed fretting until about half an hour before my alarm goes off when I enjoy the best sleep ever. Even thinking happy thoughts about Daniel Craig couldn't lift the gloom last night.

My cheery thought of the day is that two people have said I am blooming Smile and if I may say so myself; my bump is looking fantastic if a little shiney after a polish with bio-oil!

Ginfox · 17/05/2011 10:49

Grin at Bitey with convex mirror-effect bump.

I have recently been told repeatedly that I am "looking well". Given that I am mostly grimacing with backache, and/or pale through lack of sleep, I must've looked really terrible before. Am planning trip to beauticians for manicure/pedicure and general overhaul before the big day. So I'll still look rough but with nail varnish!

rocketleaf · 17/05/2011 10:55

Mmfforningffff (what do you mean it's rude to talk with a mouth full if bacon sarnie?)

AhOwl. I had the very full up problem and had to really cut down my portion size and then get up for snacks in the middle of the night :-( things seem to gave got a bit better recently now Sprout has dropped a bit. Must have made more room for my stomach. I also had shocking indigestion. Think the only thing that really helped was milk and Tums. fox glass of milk before bed might help?

foxylady. So sorry yo hear about your Gran, it's horrible when they have to be in hospital :-( the board thingy is just a patchwork cover with an appliqué bird and owl on it. Just going to staple it over the boring old cork board that wad in my office. Will post it to the blog when it's done as I think it would also make a nice quilt. orca not sure sprout will even notice :o and it's only because day time tv is so bloody crap I can't bring myself to watch it. And I am trying to get loads of stuff made before I won't have spare hands to do it anymore!

Gah to insomnia bitey I've had it a few times but not so bad for me as I can just sleep in. Hot milky drink maybe?*

Off to have lunch with the NCT ladies and then hopefully meet up with two other freinds this avo so glad my stomach capacity seems to have returned to normal (I even managed 2.5 courses when we went out last week!)

*contrary to appearances I do not own shares in or run a dairy farm!!!

owlbooty · 17/05/2011 10:59

Bugger and grrr to the lot of you. I look like death warmed up.

Am glad I am not the only one who spends most of the day pointlessly going to the loo and regretting eating things though. I am frantically doing the pelvic floor exercises.

Orcs I stupidly left the spare room door open last night and fully expected to find the mog in the moses basket this morning - thankfully he had decided to befoul a pile of suit jackets instead.

Ginnyginginginfox Babies bounce. I know this because my Dad dropped me on the bin whilst trying to bath me in the sink Grin I suspect I will also be terrified though as am terribly clumsy when tired.

Scorpette · 17/05/2011 11:55

Firstly, am sending big love to poorly FoxyGran. I really, really hope she proves them wrong and bounces back (old people can be remarkably tough)

Booty, am not going to scaremonger, but I didn't think I had SPD until a physio saw me at a Healthy Pregnancy workshop and diagnosed me. If you are hobbling slowly and your ligaments feel shitty, I would go and chat to a Doc, just to put your mind at ease :)

Is reflux supposed to be a sign of a baby with a full head of hair, Orcs? Because if that's true, The Lad will be born with a full-on Art Garfunkel Jewfro Confused Actually, if he takes after me as a baby, he definitely will, as I looked like I had a huge ball of white candyfloss on my head for the first few years of my life!

Loz, I suffer badly from ear worms and just know I will be singing 'Achy Breaky Flange' when giving birth now, thanks to you Grin

IT IS MY DUE DATE TOMORROW! HOW THE FUCK DID THAT HAPPEN?! Shock

PS Re: ILs - TYF luffs his parents and we only see them a couple of times a year, so I want him to be happy. I manage to not go mental because they aren't malicious, just mind-bogglingly repressed, stiff-upper-lip and tactless (have long suspected MIL has a touch of the Lady-Aspergers, from my experience with other adult sufferers). I am a fookin' martyr!

OP posts:
Ivegotmrbitey · 17/05/2011 12:24

score I am not pointing and laughing, it's just the way my arm and face look today Grin How exciting!

rocket I am with you all the way on the dairy products, nothing washes the gaviscon down like a glass of milk!

boots cats are bastards. I just know mine is itching for the arrival of the moses basket so he can catch fleas beofre lying in it.

occy if you clench your pelvic floor muscles when you sneeze you run the risk of popping a rib. Although that may just be me! I do sneeze quite spectacularly

Orchid12 · 17/05/2011 12:27

Bitey sorry to hear you're not managing to switch off at night. I know things can be scary, and Lord knows how many times I've lay awake worrying about potential issues with both mini O and squidge. However, I'm sure all will be fine and it's much better to be under consultant care than they just ignore it. I was consultant led for the first half of this PG (and all of last PG) because of Mr O and mini O's heart troubles. It's the reason I have opted for a hossie birth this time as I'm stressing about heart ishooes that cannot be picked up prenatally causing an issue during labour. With mini O they told me his heart was fine (not realising the conduct issues linked to Mr O cannot be picked up on a scan) but 3 months later an ECG revealed there is an abnormality (it's not life threatening, but is something we have to keep an eye on). So, I figure the likelihood of squidge having something similar is high, in which case I want to be assured that we have access to medical facilities etc should we need them. A hossie birth for me also means squidge gets an ECG immediately, and we'll know straight away if there is an abnormality. I'm not saying this to scare you, just to let you know that you're not alone in laying awake worrying about this sort of stuff Smile

Ginny I got told at the weekend by various people that they were either surprised I was still 7 weeks from D'day, or that I had a very small bump and need to grow a bit more. Even my MIL told me last night that she can't understand why I have backache, reflux etc as she doesn't think I look very big. WTF! I am no Posh spice with her miniscule bump...I haven't had any glowing comments yet!!! Perhaps it's something to do with the zits that are covering my face?

Scorps you deserve a medal . And yes, in old wives theories, bad reflux is supposed to mean more baby hair. Can't see the logic myself, but there we go Smile. Oh, and happy nearly due date - waaaaahhhhhooooooooooo!!!!

Ginfox · 17/05/2011 13:51

Just thought I'd distract you momentarily from hurty bits and due-dates....

I was just reading this www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-13393192 which makes me feel better for spending so much time and effort finding bargains in the sales and second-hand/free stuff.

But the article says that nearly a 5th of under 4s have a TV for their bedroom. WTF?

cakeandcava · 17/05/2011 14:33

Hi all,

Just popping in to say that I'm unfortunately having to leave you all (for now!!). I had some bleeding yesterday, got a scan this morning, and it showed pregnancy had stopped developing at 5 weeks. I'm feeling shitty and confused about the whole thing :(

Sorry to bring the mood down, and wishing you all the very best of luck with pregnancies, births and baybees! I'll probably be lurking in the background to see how you are all getting on.

A very un-ESH hug to everyone.

BarbiesBeaver · 17/05/2011 15:07

Cakeandcava I'm so terribly sorry. I had a similar experience and Understand how aeful it can be to have a loss after ttc for so long, it seems especially cruel. I hope your fertility treatments go ok. Feel free to pm me anytime if you want to chat further about stuff. best of luck to you and your chap.

Medee · 17/05/2011 15:25

Oh Cake, so sorry to read this news.

Ocarina · 17/05/2011 16:05

Oh cake, so very sorry to hear that. Look after yourself and MrCake.

Muser · 17/05/2011 17:58

Very sorry to hear that cake, it's so senseless and heartbreaking. Much love and hugs to you.

I have heard from the Lady Byng. BabyGirl Byng was born at home this morning after a mammoth labour. Full details from the lady herself once she's up to posting.

Ocarina · 17/05/2011 18:16

Hooray for BabyByng, and especially the arriving at home bit - glad it worked out for Styffy. It's nice to know these things can sometimes go to plan! (although I am exceedingly grateful for all the medical possibilities we have when needed).

The world can be such a mixed up place with devastating and delightful news in quick succession.

CurlyCasper · 17/05/2011 19:40

I'm so sorry cake. Hugs for you and MrCake. It's so unfair.

And congrats to styffy. Girl-joy!

Scorpette · 17/05/2011 20:14

Oh, Cake, am so, SO sorry for you. Life can be such a shitbag at times Angry Sad Sending you and Mr Cava all my love. Be gentle with yourselves XXXX

I think Ocarina speaks for us all when she says how mixed up the world can be - am heartbroken for Cava and am overjoyed for Stiffy.

Can't wait to hear more about BabyByng; well done on the HB too :) Hurrah!
