Surely Toni Basil is just a good ole American gal waving some pom poms around? Confused

Morning Haglets! Its all good in da hood here. Vay busy day yesterday. Mum decided to take me shopping to every outlet known to man, & now my house is full of every baby contraption you can imagine. Oh, except for the baby Grin. We also sat down for lunch, before I remembered Mr Loz was taking me out for dinner last night. Ah, a girl's got to eat, right? I set the moses basket up in our room - Mr Loz's side of the bed of course. Cue muchos squeeeeing.

Dinner last night was fab - a fairly new restaurant overlooking the beach on a lovely clear night. We've learnt to start appreciating the small things now....

Despite all this I had a rubbish sleep - I was reading my book on birthing plans at 2am. Bah! So me thinks I may go back to bed now.

Scorps I have moments of panic when Bug seems very quiet & still. But then I think there's really not much room left & it prolly takes all their effort to move once in the limited space. I can't believe how close you are to d-day.

Hope everyone else is OK. A few people here round about the 28 week mark - gearing up for another cluster lay sesh.

Finally Stiffy If you're still lurking here I'm sending some speedy, sneezy hippo vibes your way.

MadameBoo · 13/05/2011 11:08

Rocket Is the answer, 'because it was dead'?

Medee · 13/05/2011 12:51

I'm getting excited about meeting my baybee now - I think the boredom of the waiting is overtaking The Fear of laying

I remember this tipping point, it is rather nice.

owlbooty · 13/05/2011 13:05

I think I reached the tipping point about a week and a half ago Grin

Lozza your home is sounding better and better by the day. I bet you have proper bedding for guests and everything. My house is an utter shit hole and I will have to clean it from top to bottom before the builders start work as it is currently too shitty even for builders to see

MW appt went swimmingly today. I luff my midwife and fully intend to hold Owlet in with pelvic floor clenching in some way until her shift starts as I want her to deliver him.

Scorps - that is a massive pile of Wrong and I am shocked to my very core. Next you will be telling me that 'Golden Brown' is about drugs and 'Relax' is also about the bumming. Pshaw. Grin

Truffkin · 13/05/2011 13:56

Yo biatches, you'll be telling me that the 'twanging' episode of Rainbow has sexual undertones next. Stop trying to warp my innocent mind Hmm

My apologies for not being much of a contributor this week, I've been quite boring really. Am working long days at the moment (a new colleague joins on Monday, which will be a Godsend) and trying to get to bed early as have felt shattered. Am very pleased that Friday is here at last!

In less whingeing news, I have told people at work about my diffedness this week and everyone has been lovely about it. There was some high pitched squealing from one colleague, which was amusing and lots of congratulations. One person did ask me if it was 'planned or a happy accident?' and I still find it odd that someone would think that is a reasonable question to ask someone they don't really know that well.

I'm still struggling to know what / when to eat to avoid sickness, although it's calmed down to a few times a day now, which is better. Spaghetti hoops on brown toast seems to be quite safe, as does brown bread with a tiny bit of butter but so far anything fried is an absolute no no and fruit just creates some sort of anarchy in my stomach - weird?! I am really enjoying having a glass of milk at lunch time though and although I do like milk it's not something I drink a lot of normally - first craving perhaps?

Scorperino am hoping your bab arrives on his due date as it's my sister's birthday and for some strange reason, I like the idea of a PESH babe sharing a birthday with someone in my real life

Loz it sounds like you are learning how to enjoy your maternity leave now, lunches and shopping are the way forward fo sho. Dinner sounds lovely too, am looking forward to some of that when TGB can safely take me to a public eatery without fear of me needing a fast track to the bathrooms Blush Squee for moses basket setting up!

I am very much hoping for a new BESH MSD project so that I can have more friends at the bottom of the not list. Pliz to join me in the chanting circle to encourage more BESHwinz?

Scorpette · 13/05/2011 16:05

Am always hoping for some BESHwinz - count me in (although after you hear my singing voice, you'll deeply regret it) :)

My due date is also the birthday of one of my closest friends, so it would be kinda cool to lay then. She's a ginger and as there's a small chance The Lad could be too, so she's really excited about that as well!

Glad you've found some stuff you can keep down, Truff - I found that what I could stomach/fancy/keep down changed almost daily and you really do have to go with the flow (although 'flow' could be inadvertent pun re: vomming, soz). I also started getting cravings for milk, although it had to be goat's milk in my case. I ended up drinking so much that I was getting intolerant to that too so had to stop in the end (can still eat plenny non- moo cow cheese and yoghurt). Oh, and it is amazing how many people think it's acceptable to ask you - not just privately but in front of others - if the pg was planned, etc. At least you got lovely reactions otherwise.

It is ridiculous to think that I am 5 days off my due date now. RIDICULOUS. Shock Still veering between terror and 'Bring it awwwwwn!', but more and more the latter...

OP posts:
MadameBoo · 13/05/2011 16:13

Truffs That twanging ep of Rainbow was never shown on TV, it was made as a joke. Rod. Jane and Roger are in it. I think Freddy may have been to shocked to join in!

You probably knew that already, but I know how much you PESH love me crashing in spouting irrelevant non pregnancy related rubbish :o

Muser · 13/05/2011 18:47

I wants BESHwinz. Specially for the luvverly Aries.

Now then MsScorps. Have you seen this wonderful squid which is clearly a necessary toy for little Cthulu.

Scorpette · 13/05/2011 20:33

Aw, that is just gorgeous, Muser - I love it!

But not, I'm afraid, as much as I love the booties Rocket made me! Just got them out of the mail box and I fear we're going to be evicted now for nearly shattering every window in a 5-mile radius with our squealing! OMFG, they are THE cutest things I have ever seen! TYF keeps getting them out and squeeing over them with heart-shaped eyes and making them walk across my bump, etc. He keeps commenting on how well-made they are and how you should sell them (right on both counts)... and how he is totally serious that he wants a size 12 pair for himself! Thank you SOOO much, Leafy - I feel like I want to face birth ASAP now just so I can pop them on The Lad's perfect little feet! A gazillion kisses of gratitude XXXX

Only trouble is, we both have such big feet that I hope they fit him Grin Wink

OP posts:
ChoChoSan · 13/05/2011 20:48

I'm watching you, Scorps.

Just thought you should know, in case you intend to disappear for a sneaky secret lay.

Scorpette · 13/05/2011 22:08

Oh, like you need an excuse to watch me, Cho. That restraining order is still in date, remember.

He better wait until we've watched the mammoth latest Harry Potter DVD tomorrow I feel v heavy in my pelvis tonight, like I'm tipping forward or summat. Does that sound promising?

PS I promise to alert the ESH to the first signs of laying activity, so long as everyone keeps schtum on FB :)

OP posts:
rocketleaf · 14/05/2011 09:41

morning haglets! score thanks for the squeeeing Blush you do realise this is all part of my elaborate plan to steal TYF away from you Wink I hope they fit The Lad for at least 5 mins!

truffs glad you hear of the lovely work reactions. I agree that that particular question is a very strange one but I cant 100% be sure that I havent asked the same thing at some point in the distant past when I was clueless about TTC. I only got asked it once and my answer was 'oh yes, planned like a military operation" The asker had the decency to look a litte chagrined. Also good news that you have at least found something you can stomach, hopefully the list will expand. Milk is also my current favourite as its the only thing that seems to calm my indigestion better than any number of prescription or OTC methods.

owlet do we have the same MW? I have vowed to cross my legs til mines on shift too. I wonder if thats why she hasn't dropped the rota rund like she said she would?

loz seems like you have the hang of ML now. Nowt wrong with two meals out in a day, you need to keep your strength up! :o (thats my escuse for constant troughing anyway)

Today is commencment of Operation Birthing Room. We are going to get the dining room ready for laying in, blow the pool up and make it all nesty! very excited. Sprout is blatantly running out of room and dipping in and out of my pelvis with much more time spent in the downward position, if the increasingly harsh but also rare (thank god) pressure of her bum impacting on my sternum is anything to go by. I now have feet sticking right out of my side too!

rocketleaf · 14/05/2011 17:47

Balls I haz broken thread. scorps and styffy are you simultaneously laying?

Medee · 14/05/2011 18:13

I certainly hope so!

CurlyCasper · 14/05/2011 20:42

Dr Who night baybees?

macaroonmum · 14/05/2011 21:28

Rocket it must be MENTAL to set up a birthing room. Does it make it feel all very imminent? Sounds like you have everything under control, except the feet sticking out of ribs of course.

Loz Am very impressed with the 2 meals out achievement. ML is surely all about indulging oneself, right?

Truffs glad you are feeling (marginally) better. There's hope at the end of the tunnel (or u-bend, in your case).

buns&booze I didn't get any sickness at all with my first and only a week of it with this one (right around Christmas, strangely). Some of us are just lucky. Roll on three weeks from now!

Boo I love your random rubbish. Pliz to post more.

In me news my Calin bleu sling arrived! I luffs it. I am also 28 weeks today - hurrah! I have also been told by way too many people that I'm massive. Actually today someone said "It's like a watermelon". I managed not to hurt him.

Scorpette · 14/05/2011 22:16

No child of mine would be thoughtless enough to interrupt Dr Who by demanding to be born!

I just feel rough as fuck today and SPD is sooo painful and restrictive now. Really into the 'just want it over and done with' zone. TYF's annoying Aunt who lives nearby has been ringing and angrily insisting that today was my due date and why haven't we rung her to keep her informed (which is v WTF as we never/rarely speak to her) - like she is our blahdy priority! - and also demanding to be phoned as soon as the baby arrives so she can come round ASAP Hmm Angry Yeah, like that's going to happen. Can see silver lining to TYF's parents not coming up as soon as poss, as we can say it wouldn't be right for other family members to see The Lad before they do. Am stressed now that she's just going to try and pop over unannounced the day after I lay without asking/warning (she has form). Hate feeling like having a baby makes other people think you and your life are suddenly somehow their property or they have some say in it.

Rant over.

OP posts:
Scorpette · 15/05/2011 13:52

Sorry last night's post was so mememe. Just stressed at thought of loads of people swarming on us and the baby. Am a vvv private person... when not discussing my flange on the internet, I mean.

Anyway, no laying signs chez Scorps today - how is everyone else doing?

PS Rocket, TYF says he has to see the calibre of his man-booties before he takes up your offer Wink

Muser · 15/05/2011 15:53

I bring word of Styffy who is at home and busy laying as we speak. She should be snuffling a baby tonight. She is being true DHB about the whole thing. I am very excited as she is a luffly lady and I cannot wait to meet her new little wriggler.

CurlyCasper · 15/05/2011 15:59

hurray for styffy! Hope all going smoothly.

Scorpette · 15/05/2011 16:22
