OK, well we've needed a new thread for ages so I've taken it upon myself to start it.

Good luck ladies - we are nearly down to the last month

35 + 2 or should I say "T minus 4wks 5 days"!

MINNIE1 · 06/11/2005 21:19

TC,
Hope you feel better tomor, i get days like that where i cry over silly things, (were aloud) Sweet dreams

Hi Jays,
Sounds like you have a wonderful break.. LOL at you shopping in a mobility buggy, but it really makes sense and comfort wise i would do the same..

DQ,
It sounds like nesting, could you be next?!?!? Ooooohhhh

Just out of the bath and i am fit for bed, have an aching back and in need of sleep i think, but mind is on over drive! hate that...

dramaqueen72 · 06/11/2005 23:06

bugger of minnie!
i so am NOT!

Nemo1977 · 06/11/2005 23:08

evening all
jus thinking about FB and thought in light of some of us actually going into labour etc if people want to exchange mobile numbers? You may not want to but I dont mind doing it if other people want.

dramaqueen72 · 06/11/2005 23:18

actually nemo was thinking the same thing,...even just re the meet up. I'm not turning up to find I'm in the wrong place/wrong time and have no one to call and say 'help' too LOL! you can email me yours if you like. or vice versa if you'd rather.
and how are hun? did you get choc cake and nice gifts?

Nemo1977 · 06/11/2005 23:20

no choccie cake dh came home went on his computer then went to bed..sigh

Some nice presents but mainly smellies and socks..o and oil of ulay so I know i am getting old

dramaqueen72 · 06/11/2005 23:28

at olay cream.

i have a question guys......(well you then nemo as its just us here right now!)
i'm not due to see my midwife for ages, about three weeks or so I think (she really isnt interested in me I'm so 'boring normal pg' ) but i am really in abit of a state about something, that she could help me with. its a silly irrational 'thing' rather than a medical thing, but I'd quite like to make an appointment to see her on wednesday (the day shes at our clinic)and ask her.
but often she makes me feel silly and almost wasting her time for coming to regular appointments never mind an extra one, so I havent quite got the courage to do so. shall i? or shall I slap myself for worrying about something ELSE and leave it til I'm actually due to see her?

Nemo1977 · 06/11/2005 23:33

lol at putitng me in under nemo..thats fine

re mw i would just make an appointment, who cares if she thinks its silly what matters is that you feel reassured about whatever is bothering you. Besides am surprised you are only every 3 wks..i have been fortnightly for the past 4 appointments.

dramaqueen72 · 06/11/2005 23:38

i WAS fortnightly, then she said as all is so fine and I have done this beofre etc she didnt need to see me for four weeks. makes me abit and abit TBH, just because i have 'done this so many times before' doesnt mean I have no questions or interest in how I'm doing/babys doing. have got to say this pg I've got very sick of the 'oh you know what youre doing' statement. actually i dont always. having a baby is always a time of doubt/worry and concerns. even if you have fifty.
i just have to be brave and book the appointment. and think of an opening line when I walk in and shes to see me there........

Nemo1977 · 06/11/2005 23:39

DQ just ignore her..her job is to reassure you and maybe at the appointment just say you would like fortnightly as you have lots of questions esp re homebirth etc and are worried about not remembering them all..lol

dramaqueen72 · 06/11/2005 23:56

Youre right I guess, shes very nice, just 'busy' makes me feel abit of time waster .....
actually the 'thing' I'm stressing over is the breech or not breech question. I KNOW it sounds silly but i have been ahving nighmares and waking crying over it, panic attacks over it, you name it its affected me big time. dh has said please go see her, and speak to her about it more. but when I mentioned it last appointment she said 'oh dont be silly' alot. AFTER scaring me to death with c-section stories.

MINNIE1 · 07/11/2005 09:06

DQ,
Make the appo with MW, Its not one bit silly. She thinks because you have had other kids that yo may not want to see her as often, you know the ins and outs from previous births.. IYKWIM

dramaqueen72 · 07/11/2005 09:24

thankyou minnie

expatinscotland · 07/11/2005 09:24

I'm fortnightly and this is not my first child. I'd make an appointment with her.

george32 · 07/11/2005 09:47

Hope you get your appointment DQ and she puts your mind at rest. Sleep is bad enough at the moment without something worrying you.

Nemo, grr to your DH for going on the computer on Friday . I hope he pays you a bit more attention this week.

TC, hope you're not too teary again today. All these hormones eh!!

Jay, LOL at your electric buggy thing . I agree it might be useful but no, I just couldn't do it!!

More painting for me today - sounds like the room is massive, the amount of time I spend painting, it's not, I just keep having to stop because I'm worn out.

SH, LAST WEEK - WOOHOO!!!!

george32 · 07/11/2005 09:50

Erm, don't know how I managed that!!

All I typed was message for SH and everything came back again!!

scully · 07/11/2005 10:08

This is my 2nd and I'm every 3wks, next one is this Friday so may change after that, I'm not sure.....Can you ring her and talk properly? If not, I'd make an appt? Too bad if she thinks you should know it all, every baby and every pregnancy is different, as she should know.....
Wow fb, anytime now, that is exciting and scarey
Went to Sheryl Crow concert on Fri night, was great and especially nice to have night out with dh. Sat watched whilst dh took dd to her swimming lesson and then took her to a b'day party. Long day, but enjoyable. Caught up with friends at the party who had a 9wk old, he was so snuggley and had that lovely little baby smell
Didn't leave the house yesterday though, pottered around upstairs & am feeling a bit more organised now. Just rang dh and he's up the ladder painting the outside of the house

sweetheart · 07/11/2005 10:14

George - It certainly is - LAST WEEK WOOHOOOOOOOO Can you tell I'm ever so slightly excited! I can't believe it's all getting so close, I'm a little bit terrified if I'm honest. I'm really not sure what I'll do with myself once I am off. I had visions of sorting the house but I'm not sure I'll have the energy. Perhaps I'll just sit and watch day time TV with tea and biccies

TC - glad your doing well hun. I totally sympathise with feeling a bit teary every now and then - dh asks if I'm "feeling hormonal" and gives me cuddles until I stop crying.

DQ - I knw what you mean about moving the boundrys - thats my problem I think, I had stuff done so early that now I'm panicing and thinking I can't possibly have thought of EVERYTHING but my brain is so mushy I can't think of what I've forgotten.

Nemo - I have a list of various peoples e-mail addresses, perhaps we could set up some kind of e-mail chain for when people go into labour.

morning luvvlies!

DQ go see the MW, just go in and make her feel guilty, i find that alwasy works, sat something like:
'i know i have done this before and i know it should be okd hat to me but you ave been so helpful to me and so patient and understanding i feel like i can ask you anything...blah blah blah....' you know its not true but she feels guilt tripped into taking time out to have a chat...lol then you can go away knowing your plan worked! If youre not comfy with that, ask to see the doctor instead of the MF.... i did that one week, he was more understanding for some reason!

George you'd do it if you had a friend as 'pushy' as mine...shes sweet really means well and she did give it a go herself so alls fair!

Well we have a reported coming round to visit us to day from WOMAN magazine...... its a story about how DH and i met, married and are expecting in the first year of meeting....lol its a bit of a long story but oe you will all be able to read come Decemeber when it gets published!!i might even try and get mumsnet mentioned if i can...hehehe what a laugh. Then this afternoon i am off to a mums and bumps group with NCT that should be good to as i am seriously lacking in female company now that i am off of work, DH is lovely but sometimes you want more than male 'sympathy'!!

Wonder how Flutters doing.....
'

MINNIE1 · 07/11/2005 10:42

SW,
You lucky sucker!!! your last week...

I still have 5 wks!!! aghhhhh Then 7wks till bubs comes o how time flys!

Will have all the xmas shopping done this wk, then on to the baby shopping yippeee.. DP is away for a few days (his last trip b4 bubs comes)and he will be all mine then.. So sorting through the house this wk and dumping anything we dont need.. (lucky me)

Flutter could be a mammy by now! cant wait to hear how she is doing..

sweetheart · 07/11/2005 10:51

I wonder if Flutter has gone back into hospital. She posted over the weekend that she wasn't feeling many movements and was possibly going to go back to the hospital.

Perhaps we have our 1st Dec baby!
GOOD LUCK FLUTTER!!!!!!!

Minnie - those 5 weeks will fly now - trust me. A few weeks ago I was longing for the end to come, now it's only 4 days away!!! YIPPEEEEEEE

36 + 1 (Can you believe it!!!)

OP posts:
scully · 07/11/2005 11:50

36wks sh, how did that happen?
11 working days left incl today
and you've all just reminded me to fill in my leave form to take a half day this Friday - want to try and sneak in a movie with dh before my midwife appt (can you tell I'm trying to do coupley things before I'm tied to the house with 2 children?)
& I've succumbed and finally starting making lists..... have most things, but it's the last few bits and pieces I can see me forgetting unless it's written down.....
34+2

george32 · 07/11/2005 12:51

Just finished putting the border up & it's lovely. Can't wait for it to be finished now. Off to buy more paint (ceiling this time!!)

Scully, you will have to let me know how it is sitting in a cinema for 2 hours. I want to go but I'm a bit worried that I will get really uncomfortable.

SH, you have now terrified me. If you are 36 weeks, that means I'm not that far behind you!!!

scully · 07/11/2005 13:24

I hope you're not painting the ceiling george??
Will let you know about the cinema, had no major hassles on Friday night though, at the concert. I am short though so have no problems with legroom, on top of general pregnancy uncomfortableness
Finally my staff restaurant had something I wanted to eat today - mashed potato, gravy and peas (for £1 ) Decided to skip the sausages that went with it, not enough room for those
Have started to make appts for my first week of leave, dentist for me and dd and hairdresser for me, they are the essentials anyway

bonkerz · 07/11/2005 14:07

Hi all,

Can you believe that FINALLY i have managed my lazy day! Came back from school run and got into bed at 10am and apart from the odd nip on here i have just got out of bed to go get DS! Slept from 12pm till just now!
Have the worst acid reflux again today and i have only eaten toast at 9am! Have crunched some gaviscon tablets and had 2 swigs of gaviscon advanced and it still hurts bad!
Consultant tomorrow so will ask for more advice then!
