Quiet on here today.
I'm enjoying the calm before the storm as DP has gone off to fetch DSSs mates for the sleepover. Making the most of munching through the choccy whilst they are gone

Ebbie, I'm so sorry that you are feeling rough again. I wonder if your dream comes true. Hope you have a good weekend away despite feeling s**t.

Well done on the DIY DQ, by the way, did you ever manage to plaster over the crack / hole in your wall?

Baby had hours of fun after the chilli last night. It was dancing about all evening with a few hiccups thrown in.

dramaqueen72 · 05/11/2005 14:47

hey ladies
what crack in wall george?? um..pg brain cant recall one.
finished baby shopping today, roller blind, changing mat etc etc (well finished aside from chest of drawers from Ikea that is) all things like breast pads etc done too. goodness. can have baby now then, am ready. blimey, thats a scary thought!
oh so so tired, (me too ebbie!) got about 3 hours sleep last night, just CANT sleep, its quite depressing. hot bath, milky drinks, scented oils on pillow, even s-e-x , NOTHING got me to sleep. ugh nightmare. am worlds crankiest person without much sleep. even dh got up with me for abit and we drank horlicks together but then he slept and I was still ms. restless!

good luck for sleepover george, rather you than me right now!
sorry youre feeling crap ebbie, ope you perk up soon hun.

flutterbee · 05/11/2005 21:58

Hi ladies,

I'm back from hospital, no baby yet but they have assured me I will not be having a December baby My waters are still gushing out (I had no idea that there was quite so much up there, not a nice feeling} they wanted to keep me in till Monday for a scan and blood tests but I convinced them to let me come home as we are only 5 mins away, so I have antibiotics to take every 6 hours and have to check my temperature at least a couple of times a day. Buba is moving fine and heart traces were all good but I have been having really bad period type pains and back ache so you never no I may still go naturally, but I have a feeling they may induce before then. I'm 34 weeks tomorrow and absolutley pooing my pants, I still have soooooo much to do, the longer buba stays in there the better all round. I will probably be on tomorrow unless anything happens but rest assured I shall keep you all posted.

33+6 and waters broken

MINNIE1 · 06/11/2005 09:40

bonkerz · 06/11/2005 10:05

YIKES flutter. Take it easy and dont panic. Do you know if its a girl or boy? sorry cant remember! Anything i can help with getting bits for baby?

Alex not been too active for 2 days so DH is making me a bacon sarnie and hope she will kick off!

Very quiet day planned here. Hopeing i can snuggle in bed with a soppy film again!

george32 · 06/11/2005 12:26

Woo Hoo, sleepover lads have gone home
Not too bad actually, 9 is a good age still. Went to watch the fireworks last night & baby was a bit wiggly - must be pretty terrifying when you haven't a clue what all the noise is about!

Flutter, hope all goes OK over the weekend. Can't believe we might have our first Dec thread baby soon.
Take good care of your self & the little one. {{{{{hugs}}}}

DQ, ignore me, I've probably gone barmy!! More decorating for me today. We should have the room in a pretty good state by next weekend with just bits & bobs to get. Can't wait to see it with new carpet.

Nemo1977 · 06/11/2005 13:01

afternoon all
just a quickie as am not feeling too hot.

FB oo please take it easy. Did you get given steroid injections to help baby being early?
Our first dec bean cant believe it

George glad sleepover went well.

We took adam to pil yesterday for fireworks and he loved them. Spent most of yesterday moving stuff around in living/dining room and taking stuff upstairs. This morning we finished off and I have cleaned the kitchen cupboards and thrown out 3 carrier bags of out of date food. Getting terrible BH the past 2 days but think its because I have been doing too much. ?They are strong enough to make me cry which i didnt even do when in labour with adam..glad the old trick of swivling my hips while on all fours is helping a bit..lol Got consultant on tues when I am asking about induction so fingers crossed. DH is off work this week to do decorating and the carpet is coming on thurs so busy week.
Got to go as said a quick one and pains are coming back.
take care

flutterbee · 06/11/2005 13:34

Well it's the afternoon and I'm still leaking loads had to change my pj's last night because there was so much also had terrible period/backache pains last night

In answer to the questions I have been asked so far -

I should be having a little boy if they got it right and he will be called George Nicholas

Yes I have had the steroid injections and both of them absolutley killed, huge needle being stuck in my huge butt cheek not nice. I'm also on antibiotics and am taking temperature every few hours.

Totally unprepared for his arrival, phoned M-care in panic to get the crib and matresses delivered so they will becoming Tues morning but we have no bedding for the poor thing, if after my scan and bloods on Mon they let me go we are off straight to town to grab some bits. My list writing has gone into overdrive!!!
My bags are packed and I will a little later put what I have packed so far up on here so you lot can tell me if you think I have forgotten anything really important

Only one thing really worrying me at the moment is that I havn't felt buba move once today so I am going to drink some cold fizzy pop and put my feet up see if we can get him going, if not then when DH come back from work tonight we will probably nip back to hospital.

Speak to you all soon look after yourselves and the little ones and enjoy the time you have left as you really really don't know when it's going to happen.

34 weeks today

Nemo1977 · 06/11/2005 14:04

fb have a fizzy drink or even put something cold on your tum like a bag of peas from freezer the baby should move. But if oyu havent felt anything by 3pm then go straight back to the hospital hun.

flutterbee · 06/11/2005 14:17

Thanks Nemo, thanks for your input on my other thread as well.

Not that I'm panicking or anything

babygibbon · 06/11/2005 14:19

FB - good luck, fingers crossed for you.

I finished work on Friday, which is great. I'm observing in a school for three days a week from next week (to see if I want to become a teacher) until early Dec so not quite the relaxing time I'd like, but it's a vast improvement on 5 days a week and I feel more relaxed already (plus get to spend more time with DD before no. 2 arrives). Work gave me Jojo Maman Bebe vouchers and I'm really looking forward to splashing out on something special. It gets so boring just buying what you need rather than indulging.

For those of you who are feeling unprepared - our nursery is still unpainted and uncarpeted, we don't have anything for baby to sleep in yet and I haven't even written a Christmas shopping list, let alone started. But am feeling more relaxed about this than I was last week. I have a plan (which is better than nothing), and I think finishing work has really helped.

Looking forward now to midwife home visit on Friday to discuss the birth. Want to find out if baby's still breech - has any of you other breech ladies managed to turn yours yet? I'm obviously not spending enough time cleaning the floors...

Preg brain attacked this morning - walked out without my keys or a coat and got locked out in the pouring rain for half an hour. DH had to come home from work (he was very very good about it - far better than I would have been in the reverse situation!)

Anyway, I hope everyone and babies are well.

dramaqueen72 · 06/11/2005 17:02

we have just bought the last baby thing on my many lists!!!!!!!!woohoooo, tho does thro me into slight worrying fit about if my lists had everythng on .LOL. gosh, am ready, well okay babywise i am but no birth pool, shetting or home delivery box yet so not ready for that bit!!
Flutter, my advice with hospital packing is
take food, seriously, take sandwiches and stuff that seems oh so UNimportant now but could well be a godsend later. water spray brilliant in labour too btw.
take camera, -absolutely essential with this guy being premmie, as he may be whisked away from you for periods and you will want many pictures to sit and stare at.
take something 'to do' either fill in birht announcement cards, or address christmas ones or something that will keep your mind busy at times where you might be sat about. ditto on magazines, esp baby ones which you will be super interested in!
send a relative or friend out for bedding btw, at times like this people are desperate to help out and would love a 'job' from you. get lots of bedding (IMO you can never have too much, 3am sudden throwing up of milk is NOT when you want to discover you dont have any clean sheets....), in white or something straight forward.
good luck hun, do hope he hangs in there abit longer for you.
hot chocolate -or any hot drink- and lying on my side makes this guy move, if that helps.
keep us uptodate. we're all thinking of you.

sweetheart · 06/11/2005 17:20

Hey all, having a fairly relaxing weekend here. I keep getting waves of panic/excitement about the fact tomorrow is the start of my last week at work!

Flutter - it's great to hear from you. I hope everything continues to progress well. Keep us posted as often as possible, we are all dying to hear your news!

DQ - you must feel so releaved that you have got everything for the baby. I have slipped backwards into being totally disorganised. I keep thinking of stuff I need to get and then decideing I can't be bothered to go out and get it - then I bloomin well forget what it was!!!! I really must write things down coz I have got serious preggie brain!

Still, if the worst happened I at least have a bed, some clothes and nappies so anything else could wait really

Oh and flutter - I agree with DQ's advice - food is essentail (although don't take choc mini rolls - I threw them up all over dh last time ) a pack of cards, cd walkman - something to pass the time both for you and dh!

Jaysfirst · 06/11/2005 18:47

hey am finally back.....did anyone miss me...lol

Good god! How things change in such a short time! Flutter's fluttering off!! wow eeeeee, hope all goes extremely well for you hun, am guessing its quite an up and down time at the moment with not knowing exactly whats happening, but exciting too i should think! Hang in there and i agree with who ever said, let others do some jobs for you...dont be rushing round yourself doing them, isnt that what they are there for !!

I havent really had chance to catch up on everything since i havent been here since last Tuesday!! How time flies when your having fun! Went to Notts to visit Fam and friends, got spoilt and aquirred new baby things from everyone! Went shopping with my firned in town, shed only hired me one of those shop mobility buggys!! felt a bit daft at first but it was AWESOME. meant i could do shopping while sitting down!!! it was such a laugh, and when i needed to have a little walk she hopped in and had a go!! Highy recommend for those who are nearing full term or others with SPD...made my life so much easier... the best thing too, it was free and you got to leave your car for free too so no parking fees!!

Had a labour ward tour this morning, very intresting and really nice. Midwife was informative and helpful, so thats something i can now rest easy with!

Will go and check the rest of the thread, hope everyone is ok, did anyone do anythng for fireworks?? DH had to 'play' and we ended up having our own display in the garden....and some fireworks later on in the bedroom!!! hehehehehe

Right dinner time spk laters ladies, its good to be be back!

dramaqueen72 · 06/11/2005 20:48

welcome back jays. sounds like a good trip
s/h well yes, I should be so happy I have all I need. but of course, being slightly obsessive pg lady I'm thinking 'oh I need a shelf for toys.' 'oh I need more sheets.' infact I think til baby is here I will be quite strange like this. nowhave marked area on wall off for painting mini mural tommorrow. I just think I have a problem with finishing anything so keep moving the goal posts LOL
I doubt very much you are disorganised BTW, seeing how you had a fully equiped/furnished nursery by about aug!!!
i feel a need/urge to do things/get things/make things. early nesting do you think? well i hope so! 'bout time
babygibbon, am chuckling to self about your key/coat espisode. thats the kinda thing I do!

ThomCat · 06/11/2005 21:00

Oh wow flutter, blimey, I wasn't expecting that, and not were you. That little man can't wait to meet his mummy any longer Enjoy babes, good luck.
My friend had a little boy last night at 9.19pm, after 9 hours of labour, all bearable, and he was 4 weeks early too, he was a healthy, happy 5lb 11oz and all doing really well.

I've had a horrid day, just been on D's case all day, he had a hang over and I've just being really teary and horrid. But the studio is now not a studio, it's an empty room, finally. Can now get the carpet cleaned and room cleaned, getting people round asap and then can put cot up, mattress arrived, move changing station in, and a trip to Ikea for the wardrobe. Get stuff down from loft and clean it and arrange, job done.
Double buggy is here, ....car on order, finally the light is glinting at the end of the tunnel.

My eyes feel so sore in their sockets from being v tired and lots of silly crying today.
Off to bed in a tic so don't feel like this at work tomorrow.

Thinking of you Flutter and love to all you Dec ladies, TC xx
