OK, well we've needed a new thread for ages so I've taken it upon myself to start it.

Good luck ladies - we are nearly down to the last month

35 + 2 or should I say "T minus 4wks 5 days"!

OP posts:

scully · 04/11/2005 11:15

That's as diplomatic as I can be
Tara is nice, rhymes with our surname though so we can't use it.....Also can't use Scarlett, that should help you figure it out!

sweetheart · 04/11/2005 11:18

Minnie - I like Tara, very cute for a little girl. I know of a girl called Tyra (I think thats how it's spelt) and I think thats quite cute too!

Bonkerz - My fundal height was measuring a couple of inches bigger than it should at my last mw appointment. I'm not worried because it's not really an acurate measurement of the baby. Dd was quite a long baby too so it's probably just that the baby is tall rather than large IYSWIM! Will be great to meet you in a couple of weeks.

Ninah - you've posted a few times this morning - are you skiving off work How are things at home - e-mail me if you fancy!!!

Right, back to my books - it's revision city again here today sigh

OP posts:
ninah · 04/11/2005 11:25

so you are Mascara's sister, scully
I am being SOO lazy today sh, I just can't seem to get cracking. Yes, I could disturb you from your revision! to sum up, things tolerable but finding it quite depressing living this shadow life in the run up to new baby and Xmas, which otherwise should be so celebratory. We have a meal thing tonight with village worthies. the very prospect makes me feel like doing something rude!

sweetheart · 04/11/2005 11:29

so he's still behaving himself then ninah? Is there any way you can get out of going tonight - who is looking after ds?

At least you have the meet up to look forward to what could be better than that!

OP posts:
ninah · 04/11/2005 11:37

he is hardly here tbh, work or pub
then we are polite
ds was funny this morning, sang 'twinkle twinkle chocolate bar, my dad drives a rusty car' pmsl
meal is one of those you have to book your starter 30 days in advance. Oh well maybe we can have another honest chat. Way I'm feeling, I want out. Now he's spending a bit of time with ds maybe we can keep that going, but just draw the line. He has ds all day tomorrow cos I'm shopping.

sweetheart · 04/11/2005 12:01

well at least he's being polite which is an improvement on a few weeks ago. Sorry your feeling down though hun - I know it must be such a strain.

pmsl at ds's car song. I don't suppose p would be thrilled to hear that! Perhaps you should teach him a new verse about how mummies car is ALOT better than daddies

Enjoy your day shopping - anyway you could fit in a treat? A nice manicure or something?

OP posts:
scully · 04/11/2005 12:02

at least things are civil but not how you want to stay longterm, as you said....
my dd has come home with 'twinkle twinkle chocolate star, my dad drives a racing car'
a fair reflection of what his driving style at least
should I have thai for lunch? decisions decisions

ninah · 04/11/2005 12:08

actually p DID have the grace to laugh! he knows his expensive car grates on me when he always is saying how broke he is
Maybe ds got the words wrong then scully, if so he's a VERY clever little boy
they keep learning all this odd stuff at nursery, there's another one about digging your garden that seems to be complete gibberish, and he was telling me yesterday they had learnt about Egypt and how it was full of skateboards and roller skates
YES have thai for lunch in fact have one for me too, sounds yummy
sh I'm hoping to get a haircut, it's all gone to pot with everything that's been going on which is not great for the self esteem.

sweetheart · 04/11/2005 12:17

oh p heard him that has brought a smile to my face!!!

Glad to hear your going to get a little "you" time - you sure deserve it!

Scully - yeah, have the thai! I've got horrible old Chilli for tea tonight The smell of mince really turns my stomach atm but we have dh's family coming over for fireworks and chilli is the cheapest and easiest thing to cook!

OP posts:
ninah · 04/11/2005 12:19

mmm chilli
sounds good too!

sweetheart · 04/11/2005 12:38

insert heaving emotion !!!!!!

OP posts:
ninah · 04/11/2005 12:44

sorry to dwell on this! maybe if you make a really spicy one with lots of diced veg it will negate the 'm' effect
SOOO hungry! off to get something soon, back later!

george32 · 04/11/2005 12:53

Oooh Chilli, I really fancy chilli (sorry SH! ).
DP treated me to a takeaway pizza last night. I'm not keen on any takeaway at the moment but thought I'd have a go to save me cooking. Ate 2 slices and baby immediately objected, I'm sure you can imagine the rest. At least DP knows its not just me being picky now! . Ended up with a mug of Horlicks instead!

Have to go shopping later as yes, you've guessed it, it's another sleepover this weekend - arghhhhh!!!
9 year olds this time so nowhere near as big, noisy or hungry.

Love the name Tara by the way but not so keen on Columbine.

flutterbee · 04/11/2005 14:23

Ladies Ladies Ladies

My waters have gone !!!!!!!!

It wasn't an infection I am actually leaking fluid, I have just come home to pack a bag and then back to hospital for 24 hrs to be monitored, I have had an injection of steroids in my bum to help bubas lungs and I am on antibiotics. It may make no difference to when he comes along I may still go full term but at the rate I'm leaking I think he may come sooner.

Really really excited but trying not to show it so I don't get dissapointed.

Speak to you all soon

sweetheart · 04/11/2005 14:26

2 blankets
travel cot

And there could be a Dec arrival!!! holy shit..
I would want to get a move on!!

I dont even have a nappie for the bubs!!

george32 · 04/11/2005 15:58

Shopping for you this weekend then???

dramaqueen72 · 04/11/2005 16:47

blimey just taken me ten minutes of reading!!
flutter -gosh, how scary/exciting/nerveracking. hope all is well and baby decides to cook in there alittle longer!

minnie you'll feel better if you get the baby a bed -cot or moses basket. then you can say to hell with the other bits you have the essential!!
Today I built a cot! well it arrived and dh was at work.and when i said it had arrived he said something about that must be his sunday job....and I thought no bugger that, I'll do it, now. and I did. honestly my man is no diy-er I can tell you. abit of an effort getting ti up the stairs but no trouble putting it together. slightly complicated one side because its a bedside cot (where one side can slide right under the bottom so you can have it next to your bed) but hey nothing a determined pg lady cant handle.

going back to this morning conversation, I cant sleep til gone 1am, to the point where I dont even try now. I find its really quiet with everyone in bed and get on with loads of arty stuff ready for christmas gifts. fabulous. tho I'm sure my dh would rather i super cleaned house like some of you.
tonight I am making mermaids and boats for the wall of the nursery.

ugh with the chilli mentions, I cant bear anything spicey in the slightest lately. I am also sat with large mug of choc malted horlicks
