OK, well we've needed a new thread for ages so I've taken it upon myself to start it.

Good luck ladies - we are nearly down to the last month

35 + 2 or should I say "T minus 4wks 5 days"!

LOL at the cigar SH!! I spend most of my time trying to persuade him to stop smoking (he has cut down now I make him stand in the cold / rain! )

Love the mug idea, I think that has just sorted out at least 3 christmas pressies. I think I'll have to rely on the scan pictures though as it's leaving a lot to fate as to whether we can get real picture of the baby by Christmas!!

scully · 03/11/2005 10:54

dh reminded me last night that if we get around to taking dd to visit santa and have her photo taken (have only mangaged once since 2002 ) we may will be including the baby in the photo as well
hadn't though of that.......
dd announced this morning that after months and months of the baby being a boy, it is now a girl - I just hope I've managed to convince her that there is only one in here

sweetheart · 03/11/2005 10:55

I used a scan picture and it came out really clearly - although if you are going to use it for a few it might be best to try and scan the photo and then copy it or save it to a disc - if they keep scanning the original it will cause it to fade!

Where is everyone - I'm soooooo bored! Has DQ gone for her acupuncure today?

OP posts:
dramaqueen72 · 03/11/2005 11:37

morning ladies! sorry about soppy email, just loved itand yes it was that time when i sent it
my acupuncture was amazing btw. and no labour -lol! i had two points done and felt it straight away! my legs went funny and the baby started moving. all the time i was being monitored for no contractions (not one). afterwards i felt sooooooooooooo relax i felt almost drugged! I went home and had to rest, there were massive rolling type movements from the baby, not, as I was concerned about stressed or frantic movements, and then i slept for over and hour -just like that. I was told 12hrs after the treatment is also a very powerful time, and they were right, between 8 and 9 (12hrs later)last night I couldnt move i was so tired and zonked. then i felt chilled out and really great. its soooo mad how two points on your feet can do all that! I think the baby has turned, or is at least in a totally different place now, see midwife next week to see if she can tell.
today i slept in and feel like a new woman. wow huh>?!!!

sweetheart · 03/11/2005 11:39

ohhhh that sounds like bliss DQ - did it hurt at all, being poked with needles? I think I'd freak if they wanted to stick them in my face or anything like that!

Glad your feeling so great today!

ninah · 03/11/2005 11:53

oh good news dq, hope it has turned for you!
Sweet about dd, sh .. what a lovely phone call. Melon seems the answer!
just got back from dentist final trip now til May thank goodness.
Starting my Xmas shop on Saturday, keeping it minimal this year. Well I say that now ...

ThomCat · 03/11/2005 11:53

Hi girls.
That sounds fab DQ.

Well I ahve 16 working days left here. I don't work Fridays anyway so works oput at 16 days, 4 actual weeks, Thursday 1st dec is my last day.

sweetheart · 03/11/2005 12:12

ninah - I personally don't think she was fussed by the melon this morning - she just didn't dare to say she didn't want it!

I've been trying to keep xmas to a minimum this year too - it's not happening though I keep seeing stuff I want to get for people. Are you going to get p a present - I don't think you should after your birthday!

TC - 1st Dec is also my 1st official day of mat leave - I'm on holiday for 3 weeks first though - thank goodness.

Just relised that I am due 1 month tomorrow and

I have to have all the shopping done this month!! (a hello!!) I have all the nephews and little people got for... Just the big people now!! But i am stuck on DP! Are you buying big or small for them??

Bubs is quiet today he/she kept mummy up most of the night kicking.. feeling the effects now!! cannot focas on work at all!

sweetheart · 03/11/2005 12:28

we have a £100 budget for each other this year Minnie. It's normally more but we've had to limit ourselves this year for obvious reasons!

I've brough dh some golfing tuition, lots of nice smellies and I have about £20 left to spend so will either get him a computer game or a couple of CD's.

OP posts:
scully · 03/11/2005 12:33

we're a bit hopeless with buying each other presents but have decided to book tickets to some shows we each want to see - so it's Sheryl Crow tomorrow night for dh and We Will Rock You on 19/11 for me. & we get 2 outings on our own without dd, before the baby is born, also a bonus

ninah · 03/11/2005 13:35

no I most certainly am NOT going to get p a present! Well apart from this rather large round tightly wrapped one under my chin. I usually take loads of time with his and spend far too much money so it will free some of both up to put to better uses.

sweetheart · 03/11/2005 13:48

I'm so pleased you said that!

ebbie22 · 03/11/2005 13:53

havent read all of the messages yet,but you can get baby photo frame books in blooming mavalous called daddys boasting bk....

ninah · 03/11/2005 13:55

oh yes, I'm no soft touch!
I have to admit that at a baser level I am hoping he will find something suitably magnificent for me, but am SO not holding my breath ...
Still looking seriously at Lincs btw.

JennyWren · 03/11/2005 14:04

Hiya. Sorry to crash - I'm trying to get hold of babyonboard, and she hasn't replied to my e-mail. Does anyone know if she's away from home at the moment, or if the stork has landed early .
Good luck to you all!

george32 · 03/11/2005 14:09

Jennywren, I think Babyonboard is due in Nov rather than Dec. Have a go over there.

Ebbie, I'm off to look at Blooming Marvellous right now - thanks.

The basket of things from baby will be from me too for DP. We usually go mad so really cutting back this year or we will be bankrupt before the baby is born!!

JennyWren · 03/11/2005 14:12

Thanks! I'll try there.

ninah · 03/11/2005 14:18

NEMO, where are you??!!! hope all is OK

sweetheart · 03/11/2005 14:22

ninah - I thought exactly the same thing - wouldn't it be fab if he presented you with something lovely and you said "whoops, I didn't get you anything"

Let me know if you find anything nice on the Lincs search!

dramaqueen72 · 03/11/2005 14:24

hey ladies
s/h no it didnt hurt, there was a oh moment when the pins went in, like someone had flicked me with their fingers......and then nope, no pain. its all abit surreal tho oh and he said acupuncture is not very good at inducing labour when youre over due, which i thought was very honest of him (he could of had me signing up for that too!) the turning treatment had a fifty/sixty percent sucess rate so it seems its an option but not a cure for all these things.
george, bakset of cute stuff? how lovely! bet your dh loves it. the baby is buying dh a t-shirt that says 'i'm the daddy' because I saw it online and it made me laugh so much....
normally I get dh an 'experience'type of gift, you know like racing or rally driving but this year our budget is abit tighter so no exciting thing like that.
scully, great idea to have a few nights out beforehand!!

george32 · 03/11/2005 14:33

DQ, glad it went well. Sounds like your little one has been turning about all over the place ever since!

DP is a bit of a softy (it's him, not me who cries when we look at baby clothes) so I thought he would appreciate it

Had furniture & more things from Mothercare arrive today - oh, it's all finally coming together.

dramaqueen72 · 03/11/2005 14:57

woohoo on the goodies arriving. we are expecting our delivery anyday now..........for the bedside cot and that. then next weekend, or actually I think its the one after, we are off to ikea to collect the chest of drawers and a few bits. one last order about to go to mothercareonline, of wipes, breastpads etc and then we're done. yesterday we got our new baby sling and dh has been wearing it around the house, LOL.
am sat here hoping for a pause in the rain so can take 'children outside' pictures for our christmas cards. but it just wont stop. how do you reckon drowned and soggy children would look on the front of them??

ei23mummy · 03/11/2005 15:00
