OK, well we've needed a new thread for ages so I've taken it upon myself to start it.

Good luck ladies - we are nearly down to the last month

35 + 2 or should I say "T minus 4wks 5 days"!

Phew, lucky I get sympathy from my DP isn't it, he'd be in big trouble otherwise!!

ei23mummy · 16/11/2005 15:57

is it just me or does anyone else think it may be time for a brand spankin new thread??

ei23mummy · 16/11/2005 16:01

haha i dont think he would enjoy any of that so i might try it at some point!!iv taken to pokin him hard in the ribs when hes watchin the soaps to give him the idea of what thats like but i dont know whether he would be too happy wit an onslaught of mock-pregnancy symptoms!!

ninah · 16/11/2005 16:17

lol ei you do make me laugh!

ebbie22 · 16/11/2005 16:49

Have a safe jorney everyone for tomorrow

sweetheart · 16/11/2005 17:16

Is anyone else starting to panic about the meet up - or am I just being stupid? I keep wondering if I may have upset anyone in the past who might want to come and sort me out! tHE THOUGHT POPPED INTO MY HEAD very LATE LAST NIGHT WHEN i WAS SHATTERED AND JUST DRIFTING OFF TO SLEEP. Whoops - Caps on, can't be bothered to retype!

Oh well, have to take my mum to the hospital tomorrow morning so hopefully I won't be too delayed in getting to the meet up - did we decide on a name for the table or is that too late now?

sweetheart · 16/11/2005 17:17

OP posts:
Nemo1977 · 16/11/2005 17:32

George your gift box to dh sounds lovely.

Well I sorted a couple of boxes in baby room but need dh here on friday night to put some things in loft and shed. Also started packing hospital bag as am 36wks on fri and being induced 4wks tommorow so thought best do something. Although need to find a list of must haves as am sure I have forgotten them all..lol

ebbie22 · 16/11/2005 17:33

U ladies are so grt and make my day...got bk to my email to find 10 sets of the same email...lol

dramaqueen72 · 16/11/2005 20:31

LOL ei, I was looking at each mail thinking.....i'm SURE thats the same one......
so now I have your addresses eight times. you all really really want a new baby card from us all then?!!!
sweetheart, had a few panicy moments over meet up but generally looking forward to meeting you guys. nope, have nobody I 'want a word with' (unless anyone comments on my pudding eating....LOL) so try and rest easy tonight. and dont be late! youre actually the only one who knows the way for everyone to ring up and ask!!!
FFS nobody dress up, I fit into about four things none of which is dressy okay?! and bonkerz hun, if youre the one with the bump and bum you are meeting up with your six long lost twins then! do have a good drive down, drive carefully.
which reminds me -sweetheart- please bring your midwifes notes and hospital bag, youre soooooooo close to being due, already engaged etc, dont you dare at the meet okay? your dh will never forgive us!

nemo, will miss you tomorrow, hope hospital Gd thingy is a breeze and over asap.
ei need pictures of your chair, sounds lovely.
george your gift basket sounds lovely. cant think of much else to add........um........what about a choclate cigar for after birth (healthier than the real thing) saw them somewhere the other day.....crabtree and evelyn or somewhere similar... and thought 'oh good idea!' what about mini frame for baby picture for his desk at work -if he has a desk that is...
there is a lovely picture book called daddys lullaby, that is soooooooooooooo lovely, -Mollie has it somewhere-, about a daddy who finds the baby awake when mummys sleeping and carries the baby around the house late at night showing him things.......anyhow if i can find who its by I will post the name, gorgeous book and one dh adores reading because its all about how special 'daddy time' is.........

told dh today no one minds if he turns up for pudding or coffee at end of meet up. he looked at me like i was mad and said 'what? join seven pregnant ladies????' and shook his head, so looks like he may not being showing his face then.......PMSL

Jaysfirst · 16/11/2005 23:03

I havnt had any panicky moments about meeting anyone, only thing i was a bit concerned about is that you all seem to know each other more so than i know any of you, not that thats a massive problem really, but thought id share my thoughts!

As for dressing up DQ i have been living in the same two pairs of trousers for about two months now... dont htink i could dress up...unless it was as a beach ball or something

Hope everyones evening has gone ok, i am so tired but refuse to go to bed right now or else i will be awake by 4 and then very tired on my drive up, i sooo could do with a decient nights sleep, but i guess we are all in the same boat!

I will See those of you who are going, tomorrow its a shame that not everyone can go but am sure that you all will be there in spirit!

dramaqueen72 · 16/11/2005 23:17

oh no jays I'm going as the beach ball.........
i'm nervous about being there first, dh will leave me and I'll look like a desperate lonely beachball!!!!
I cant remember how many the tables for now...9? 10? I know theres seven of us plus children....
also concerned may leap on ANY pg woman in the place assuming shes one of you.........LOL. can you imagine????!!!
also no bed yet. so I'll be the beachball with the severe shadows under eyes then!

george32 · 17/11/2005 09:12

LOL at a table of beachballs!
Had a lie in to try to catch up on some sleep, what is it with 4.30am in the morning?? Why does my body not understand that I don't want to wake up then?
Can I loiter outside the restaurant til I see another unsuspecting beach ball approaching?
Must go & get dressed now or I will miss the meet completely!!

dramaqueen72 · 17/11/2005 10:24

mmmm, george, was thinking might do same thing...peer nervously in see if whole table of beachballs are there, or wait outside for a friendly looking beach ball to turn up!

Jaysfirst · 17/11/2005 10:33

ok leaving now, so youd all better turn up! I am the orangy/red looking beach ball....see ya soon,

Hope everyone else is ok, how the hell is flutter doing i wonder???

Laters x

MINNIE1 · 17/11/2005 11:19

Hope you all have fun at the meet up..

Nemo1977 · 17/11/2005 14:09

afternoon all..well you will be well into the throws of the meet so hope it has been fun. Am and I couldnt afford to go.
Instead I have had fun at the GTT only to be told there is nothing wrong and that they did it because adam weighed 9lb1oz at birth..err he was 15days late so bound to be bigger..sigh. Plus I am 5ft8 and large adam is very tall for his age and was at birth.
Feeling really grumpy and sorry for myself today mainly due to no sleep and missing out..lol
take care

george32 · 17/11/2005 17:09

Oh Nemo, I'm sorry. Not a fair swap, a meet up lunch for a GTT test. I think there will be some scary pictures appearing in the near future - at least you escaped the cameras!

Anyone else home yet?? Hope you all had safe journeys. Lovely to meet you all. It's quite weird now having a face to put to a name - you have suddenly all turned into real people!
I hope we manage to do another one when we have little bundles of joy.

Off to have a bath now as my back is killing me, bet I'm not the only one suffering tonight - oh, it's a hard life sitting down & eating all afternoon.

ebbie22 · 17/11/2005 18:17

Sounds like you had a wonderful time today,im glad and will have to make it to the next one....
Got told yesterday that its def all BABY in my belly...scared me to death now and hope this one arrives a little early..

flutterbee · 17/11/2005 18:37

Hi Ladies,

Well life has deffo changed for me over the last week.

I went into labour late Thursday/early Friday last week and went to hospital at 3am they told me that I wasn't in labour but was just having niggles (the most painfull NIGGLES I have ever had) but they admitted me anyway because of my waters having gone. Hubby went off to work a few hours later and I was left having only been given a few paracetamol!! I was in so much pain the Dr came and examined me again and revealed I was fully efaced (spelling) and 2cm dilated

I gave birth to a beautifull baby boy at 8.08pm on Friday 11th November weighing 6lb 4oz even though he was only 34+5.

He has been in special care all week and I have been in hospital with him which is why I havn't been posting DH has been at our side for over 12 hours a day!!!!!

But I am pleased to say that we were both discharged today as he has done so well and has established breast feeding already even though they fed him through a tube to begin with, he also had slight jaundice but has managed to get rid of that as well, all in all I think I have a real fighter on my hands.

I am totally exhausted and have been tearfull every day, but every time I look at my little baby George it all seems worth while.

His full name is George Nicholas Nii - Koi Ashie

Nii - Koi is Ghanian and means born on Friday as Daddy is Ghanaian so we thought it would be nice to go with that tradition.

He has just been fed and is sleeping peacfully in the front room, it is really really hard work and bound to get harder but I just can't explain how happy he makes me and Daddy.

I have photos and will post them on our pics site tomorrow if all goes well, hope everyone else is keeping themselves happy and looking forward to there big day

Mummy, Daddy and George send our love

Nemo1977 · 17/11/2005 18:45
