OK, well we've needed a new thread for ages so I've taken it upon myself to start it.

Good luck ladies - we are nearly down to the last month

35 + 2 or should I say "T minus 4wks 5 days"!

OP posts:

ei23mummy · 16/11/2005 00:17

u still around DQ??
am jus sittin here bored cos i cant sleep!
i have finished recoverin my chair an it luks fab!! yellow gingham!! its so bright n cheery!! i also rearranged the babys room so everythin looks more balanced! iv been a busy bunny the past two days!! im feelin it now in my back tho!!

scully · 16/11/2005 08:48

well done ei, I wouldn't know where to start with covering a chair.......thought I was pretty good sewing dd's slipper on the weekend where it had split at the seam
& dq with your fireplace, sounds like it will be lovely when it's finished. I'm leaving the diy to dh now - just staying on top of the house and other bits to organise & working is enough. I find I've got period like cramps every night now, tells me when I've done enough for the day anyway.....
Cleaned out our kitchen cupboards last night, scary what was lurking, out of date, at the back

george32 · 16/11/2005 09:33

Morning everyone.
I'm so happy, I finally got a pretty good nights sleep. What a difference
Ei, very impressed by your chair covering. Is that your feeding chair now then?
Oooh, Scully, nesting & cramps.....any chance you might start early do you think?

I'm feeling so much better I think I might go shopping for some Christmas pressies today. I have a meet up with my family on the 4th Dec (early as they are 2 hours drive away) so I'd better get buying something for them.

I wonder if we have our first Dec baby. I do hope that Flutter is OK.

How is everyone else today?

expatinscotland · 16/11/2005 09:34

I had to take two Sinutabs to get some damn sleep. This bloody sinusitis is kicking my a&*se.

I think baby's head is engaging, but midwife will be able to tell for sure this afternoon.

ebbie22 · 16/11/2005 09:41

Morning everyone, fingers have been soo sore it hurt to write,dh gave me sympathy as usually cant get me away from mn...lol
though have been lurking to check how u all r...
Well done on the chair, any chance u could do this computer chair...
Any more news on flutter,do hope ur ok hun xxx
Ohh who said xmas shopping,im in the same boat but lack of money at the mo,though mostly done now,[t.g]
Also got midwife soon....hope she can make me feel better xxx

george32 · 16/11/2005 09:41

Good news that your little ones head is engaging Expat. I seem to have lost my little one. I know it's in there but I just cannot figure out which was round now - I seem to have lost its legs!!

scully · 16/11/2005 10:11

that's funny george
if the midwife hadn't told me which bits were where and that the head was engaged, I wouldn't have known. easy to work out once you know
coming early, yes I have that thought regularly.....that's why I have hassled the friends who borrowed our baby things to hurry up and return them all, so I at least had a carseat and moses basket - was starting to stress that they thought Dec was ok to return everything - ffs I'm due 4wks Sat
yes, can't wait to hear fb's news......

Nemo1977 · 16/11/2005 10:32

morning all
george hope you have a lovely time xmas shopping..surprisingly apart from baby outfit [which will get after born],selection boxes for friends kids and pil we are done I plan on wrapping it all next week so its done and out the way.

Well I think nesting has defintely kicked in it is 10.30am and I have already done 2 hours ironing, got a load of washing on and drying, hoovered all downstairs, brushed kitchen floor and am going to mop it in a minute.. Think I am going to start tackling babys room when adam goes for his nap this afternoon, although depends if my bed starts calling me too..pmsl

expatinscotland · 16/11/2005 10:43

DD, 2.5, refused to utter a peep at her health check. She whispered 'rabbit' and that was it. She wouldn't even smile at the health visitor or GP. She wouldn't draw. She wouldn't play with the puzzles. She didn't want to get off DH's lap.

Then she walked out of the surgery and said, 'Brr! It's cold!'

Nemo1977 · 16/11/2005 10:47

expat my ds did the same. He was 22mths at his check and hv kept trying to get him to talk but he blatantly refused until on the way out he turned around and said bye bye see you soon

MINNIE1 · 16/11/2005 12:38

Hi all,

No word on flutter, hope all is well.

I have read this thread over the last 2 days as i am up the walls here at work (now it doesnt happen often) All i have read i cant remember!!!

Got up this morning after no sleep again and had a dose of the (Ahem TMI) runs!!!! Not very nice first thing! So i havent eatin a thing all morning only water!!! feeling rough as a bears arse!!

God ladies it wont be long now i am 34 weeks tomor so the bubs will be arriving very soon!!

Welcome to all the newbies.

Quick question: Will your partners be with you on delivery?? I think my DP is in 2 minds about it and when i told him the baby comes out blue he was a little shocked!!

Nemo1977 · 16/11/2005 12:49

minnie re delivery depends on your dp. With dh i prefered to be just him and I as it was really nice plus he was very useful without being too in my face. My mum turned up 10mins after adam was born. For me that was perfect as I prefered just having dh and the mw. This time we will be doing exactly the same.

bonkerz · 16/11/2005 13:43

afternoon all,

Quiet day here for me. HAd intended to go for a lay down at 1pm BUT then post arrived and TAx Credits are with holding £180 of our award for this year APPARENTLY due to overpayment BUT i have letters here saying i won the appeals etc so have just had to dig out all my bits and email adjuducators and send a snotty letter to director who dealt with all my appeals! Its not fair cos i have been praising the way the finally sorted my claim out etc and then this!!
Cars is all loaded cos im heading to Basingstoke tonight with DS. Im gonna meet some lovely ladies i met on the net! NOT SURE WHY THOUGH or WHO THEY ARE!!!!
Have been spending small amounts of money on ebay on stocking fillers etc for kids BUT the small amounts have somehow ended up being one large amount
Have started to get VERY sore in my groin area so think my test results will show an infection on Friday! think im swollen down there too as am quite uncomfortable BUT i dont want to visit midwife as i just know they will admit me and ive gotta go Basingstoke! Have midwife on Friday though and Alex is wriggling away so should be ok till then!
ok am off to TRY get an hours sleep before my 2 hour drive!

See most of you girls tomorrow! Im the one with the bump and big bottom!!! LMAO

scully · 16/11/2005 13:55

bonkerz, your description doesn't narrow it down, I think that applies to all of us
almost done with training my replacement, so sick of having to explain everything.......but it's in a good cause

ninah · 16/11/2005 14:00

do they really come out blue minnie, are you SURE? I didn't look til washed, I admit but I do recall ds was purple with a pointed head and saying 'OMG its a Mekon'
Help, ladies ... had a big 'kerfuffle' with him this morning about 1) shoes and 2) jumper. Really lost patience for the first time ever as had a 9am meeting and he was sitting on the pavement howling and screaming. OMG. Both of us started the day dreadfully ... wish I had been kinder and defused it but so stressed about time.

ei23mummy · 16/11/2005 14:06

afternoon!!
how is everyone?? george was it you who said about the stuffy nose in the morn/evenin? iv been like that for a few weeks now but put it down to my cold/flu thingy as iv also got a cough an a sore throat!! could be just one more of the many perks of bein heavily pg!!
iv gotta do a bit of birthday prezzie shopping in a mo coz its my friends birthday at the weekend but she wants to get together tonight!! ah well it gets me out of my p.js an into the open air i suppose!!

MINNIE1 · 16/11/2005 14:11

Alot of them do, In the ante-natel last week (the one DP had to miss) she said some of them come out blue and not to be alarmed. Also the vernix will be on them.. While this wont bother me (as you can imagine at that point i wont care as long as it comes out) i know DP wont handle it very well, but i dont want him to miss out on the whole experiance.. I think i will have to have another chat with him and see how it goes..

ei23mummy · 16/11/2005 14:12

maybe try that thing on the advert ninah! the one where the little boy starts to throw a tantrum an his mumm does it before him to stop him!! v. funny!! im keepin it in mind for any future hissy fits my little one throws!!

ninah · 16/11/2005 14:16

yup I would ei but I'm simply TOO BIG! I'd never get up again!
oh god Minnie ... well at least dp missed that session, he will think they look like baby bjorn then, let him HOLD that thought! my p just looked at the top end, I think he found it a bit ott but he did used to want to be a vet so was actually really, surprisingly excellent support

Jaysfirst · 16/11/2005 15:09

grrrrrrrrrrrr i cant get my fire started!!!

george32 · 16/11/2005 15:16

I love that advert, that is so going to be me in the future!
I'm having my DP with me Minnie, I'm certainly not going through it alone!! He was there for his first 2 & cried at both, he says they are the best moments in his life (obviously apart from meeting me!! )

Have a safe journey Bonkerz.

Well not too much shopping done, got my mums & a few more bits for DP plus I started buying for my hospital bag. Accidentally bought a few more toys for the wiggly baby
Hoping DP won't think my presents are too much for the baby as they are supposed to be for him to bond with him / her.
So far I have: new dad cufflinks / mug with scan picture on & Hi daddy! / bath toy & bath sponge / 2 books (Rookie Dad & I love my Daddy) / baby grow with I love my daddy / coffee beans to keep him awake / baby massager set /daddy boaster book / and an inflatable baby bath to put it all in.
Any thing else I can add do you think??

ei23mummy · 16/11/2005 15:43

im defo havin my dp in the room wit me cos he has said throughout the pg that he doesnt see what im moanin about!! its cos his waistline is bigger than mine and he carrys that round everyday!! the cheek!! i jus keep remindin him that he doesnt have to push his 'stuffing' out after 9 months and he quietens down a bit!!

george32 · 16/11/2005 15:46

Get him to strap several tins of beans to his tummy, stick pins in his groin & bash his back with a hammer, then see if he still thinks the same!!

ei23mummy · 16/11/2005 15:48

i might just do that george!!

george32 · 16/11/2005 15:55

Oh, forgot, wake him up every hour then make him get up at 4.30am. Give him a few spoons of Gaviscon too
