OK, well we've needed a new thread for ages so I've taken it upon myself to start it.

Good luck ladies - we are nearly down to the last month

35 + 2 or should I say "T minus 4wks 5 days"!

Thursday
Here you go Jay
I've only been to Homebase and McDonalds in Basingstoke but agree on the roundabout comment, they are awful when you don't know the area at all.......I'll be coming from an appt in Aldershot so shouldn't get too lost, she says confidently.....
Felt very crampy this evening, gave me enough of a fright to have another look at my hospital bag, make a list of who dh needs to ring/email and revise our name list

muma3 · 14/11/2005 21:57

good luck to all who due next month xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

dramaqueen72 · 15/11/2005 00:25

ei, that sounds lovely, the chair youre doing up. I reckon all pg ladies have a pregnancy project on the go!! aside from the nursery i have been doing up this great huge firesurround, but i'm proud as ever over it1 last pg i learnt to drive!! which was quite a labour of love i can tell you!! I have just been given a lloyd loom nursing chair, so looks like i need to find time to repaint that too........am poss too busy to actually HAVE the baby at this rate
welcome softmusk BTW, its abit mad here but we like it.............
yes reckon flutter must of had baby by now. or shed be posting as normal. I do hope all went well and she and 'he' are doing fine. cant wait to see!!!!
jays, am making badges, yes, am sad arty type who cant remember names so thought they might help. no, no cards with details- but might be funny to see who can remember what about each other........ suspect the logical brain of s/h will scare me with its recalling power.............
so where are we going to actually 'meet'??? will you kinda hang around the bar/door? or do I have to walk across huge floor to get to you guys? GOD i'm nervous!!!
nemo, wish you were coming, along with ei....and well everyone really. must get those webcams so we can do mass 'meet up' of dec girlies.

george32 · 15/11/2005 09:02

Morning everyone.
Guess what, yes, another crappy nights sleep for me. Been roaming since about 4.30am and am really feeling pretty rubbish. Having a cup of tea to wake myself up properly now after drinking Horlicks for hours to try to send me off to sleep again. It's no wonder my body is confused

Last gripe of the morning, does anyone else suffer from a blocked nose every night & morning? I can't breathe through my nose at night now it's so bad. Going to get some vicks vapourub to see if that helps .

Welcome to Lulabelle & Softmusk and thankyou for your good wishes muma3.

DQ, by the sounds of the roundabouts in Basingstoke we will be meeting as we go round & round them looking for the right exit . Anyone any idea what car park I'm looking for?
I'm looking forward to meeting everyone & us all just ordering puddings!!

Hope all is well with Flutter.

sweetheart · 15/11/2005 09:17

welcome to soft musk.

Morning all!!!

DQ - my brain is mush atm - there's no way I'm going to remember stuff about you all - and I'm totally crap with names, they leave my brain 2 seconds after I've been told them - so I think name badges are a brill idea, if only to save me some !!!

I'll put these details on the meet thread too but, once in B'stoke head for the Festival Place car park - it's the massive shopping centre and if you come off the M3 at J6 it will be on your left as you head into the town centre.
Once parked just head for the cinema - it's on the bottom floor, head for Debenhams as it's at that end of the shopping centre.
I though maybe the 1st person there could reserve us a table in a name we have pre-agreed and then when we go into the restaurant we can say which table we need. I think with the children that are coming we need a table for 10. Can anyone think of a name to put it under? Perhaps ninah or george (as they have the most normal sounding MN names ) Can't see us asking for a table for Bonkerz hee hee.

Flutter, hope your doing well sweetie and if you haven't already had the baby then good luck for today!

dramaqueen72 · 15/11/2005 09:34

table for mumsnet?
actually, whatever we say I can imagine them leaping up to sort it, agree with it, after all you wouldnt want any angry pg ladies who then might go into labour on your hands would you? not that I'm threatening them or anything........
my dh is coming, and tho hes off shoppping apparently for abit, if he gets bored/struggles with dd2 I hope nobody minds him gatecrashing? I'm sure he wont, but i wanted to check if he joins us at the end nobody really minds. (and frankly it might be soooooooo funny to see his face when there are seven pg ladies altogether!)

scully · 15/11/2005 10:02

He's brave if he does join us dq Pity my dh isn't coming, he could talk to him about having more than 2 children, I've been mentioning all the way through this pregnancy that this isn't necessarily our last
Wonder how Flutter is doing? Finally, our friends who borrowed most of our baby stuff in April, are returning it this Sunday (only after some prodding from my during the last month) Hello, I'm only due in 4.5wks time and dd was early. But at least now I will have the cot, moses basket, car seat and steraliser back, among other things. Just have to order new mattresses and then I'll be feeling fairly sorted. Got a proper fright last night when I started having cramping pains, so want it all sorted so I can relax should anything happen sooner than I'm expecting.....

expatinscotland · 15/11/2005 12:13

YOUCH!

Anyone else getting painful twinges in the bump area?

Am trying to tell self it's just trapped wind.

Sid · 15/11/2005 13:55

Just had my scan (at 37+4) to check baby's presentation (as the professionals seem to call it) and all is well - baby is head down and quite low - does this explain why my heartburn has improved? So I cross my fingers that you too fall into that 98%, dramaqueen. The sonographer did tell me that they are really unwilling to try turning at any stage, which is not what the midwife said. I guess it means I won't have to clean the kitchen floor - phew.

Nemo1977 · 15/11/2005 16:29

HELLO
been busy today so not had chance to get on..saw mw this morning and baby is no longer breech..woo hoo head is in my hip instead..ouch..lol So all set for go ahead on 15th so far!!! Got my fab GTT test on thurs which I keep getting told different things about how they take the blood is it 3 in arm samples or one in arm 2 finger prick or 3 finger prick??????????????????
hope everyone is ok.

george32 · 15/11/2005 16:47

Exciting day for me........I've been asleep since about 1.00pm!!!
Nemo, is head in your hip better than breech then? Still sounds like it's in the wrong place or is it OK because its heading in the right direction?
I had 2 arm blood samples taken for my GTT test and a 2 hour wait in between.

Sid you are so close now, glad all is OK and baby is in the right place.

Expat, I have twinges under my bump & across pubic area but non across my bump, could this be b/hicks? Haven't had them myself so don't really know what they feel like or where you get them (not much use at all really am I!!)

DQ, no objections at all to your DH crashing our meet. If I give him a list will he go off & do my shopping?

I've had a look at directions and I appear to coming in via the A33 so I guess I just follow my nose to the town ctr. Is it the apache restaurant?

I hope everyone else has had a slightly more productive day than me, DQ, how is the fireplace?

ninah · 15/11/2005 17:06

expat YES! didn't have this before, I think it's Braxton Hicks. Thought it was the real thing starting up the other day. My friend who has 3 children reported v pronounced BH with second child a few weeks before SPEEDY delivery, so here's hoping!

Nemo1977 · 15/11/2005 17:12

expat sounds like bh to me too been getting them from about 24wks this time..had none painful tightening with adam..nothing like these

George meansbaby is head down but a little to the left which is better than wrong way up..normal for 2nd baby not to engage until in labour so I am not worried.

george32 · 15/11/2005 17:27

Thats good news Nemo. You've made me feel better too as my little one sometimes has it's head by my hip. Sounds much better than under my ribs - maybe it is getting the idea finally!

So are you counting down the days Nemo?

Nemo1977 · 15/11/2005 17:32

lol george yes I am..literally on my msn I have the days listed and I have 30 to go!!!!!!

dramaqueen72 · 15/11/2005 17:48

evening all.
fireplace is 'in place' technically but still lots to do tomorrow. plastering, tiling, beading refixed etc etc..... abit actually as there was more that needed doing than I realised. lots of fixing things that i hadnt counted on etc, you know how it is with DIY. my poor father is prob now on his way home muttering at determined pg ladies and their fireplaces! so busy day tomorrow. sigh. will be worth it but!! nothing like diy to bring on bh big time!! and yes expat mine are quite uncomfy. abit un-nerving at times like you said s/h. make me go double check I have all baby things! have to pack a hospital bag now, just when i was chuffed not too for home birth, but of course might need it if the scan/turn turns in to anything else!
sid, thanks for willing this munchkin down the right way...........glad yours is! and yours nemo, and hopefully yours george!

doubt dh will end up at our meet up, but thought it might be nice to check nobody minds just incase! i am so on for starters and pudding or even just pudding and pudding........LOL and heavens george, only send dh shopping if your list is very 'flexible' as hes hopeless at following lists shopping, esp grocery shopping.

bonkerz · 15/11/2005 18:19

evening all,
have been christmas shopping today and got loads of small items for DS and DSD. Ended up buying yet MORE clothes for Alex even though she has enough for 3 babies already!
Will be opting for starter and pud too me thinks cos im not sure if waiter will be happy if i order a childs meal for myself!!
I am going to apologise now if my DS starts having tantrums etc. He hasnt been the best behaved little boy this week so im not sure how well behaved he will be on Thursday. You will all have to ignore my mummy skills and please dont hate me if he gets threatened with a smack!!! SHOCK HORROR!!!!!!
Ok apology done!!

Jaysfirst · 15/11/2005 19:33

god i am goind mad, i am totally losing my marbles, i was supposed to go to the osteopaths yesterday, but totally forgot, i am so forgetful it hurts, my brain has turned to a lump of jelly and no matter how hard i try i can not seem to keep focused on anything, ok now i have that out of the way...

Glad everyone is feeling ok and things are progressing with all your individual projects and lifestyles, am wondering how flutter is doing, was thinking about her today when i was lying in bed at 4 unable to sleep becasue of bump, SPD and widn!!! not that those things reminded me of her, just that i was wishing i was in labour or at least a bit nearer, then thought of her and her labour, sending out lots of positive vibes!!

DQ you are faltering with your number arent you.... i promise i wont call unless i get totally totally lost, hows that ?

Bonkerz dont worry about apologising you cant be held responsible for anything DS does unless of course hes an absolute darling then it wil ALL be down to you i know i shud check on other thread, but can i just confirm its one oclock we are meeting? and whats the name of the place...oh heck i will check the other thread!!

sweetheart · 15/11/2005 19:49
