OK, well we've needed a new thread for ages so I've taken it upon myself to start it.

Good luck ladies - we are nearly down to the last month

ThomCat · 14/11/2005 14:10

And how hard is it bathing theM?!! Blimey, what a killer.
I burnt my bump on the oven the other day as I took a tray out, I didn't realise it was so close iykwim!

ninah · 14/11/2005 14:26

TC, cute girls' stuff - where?!
ooh and I can't believe that the grandma's are the only ones to offer - well I can actually, bless them. Makes me realise how lucky I am the only time I have to manhandle ds is tantrum time.

expatinscotland · 14/11/2005 14:28

I don't know the baby's gender, either. We only get one scan here in Edinburgh - at 13 weeks - and they won't tell you the sex. Ever. Even if you have a later scan - unless you pay for it privately.

dramaqueen72 · 14/11/2005 14:30

oh I did that TC! burnt bump on the steam from the iron (will serve me right ironing top in just bra and jeans......)
ninah, thanks, but camera was dried out and workign 'alright' and now has gone totally mental. dh is grumbling at me as its only 14mths old and abit pricey. broke the last one with sand and now this one with rain..... you can see him wishing my hobbies were cheaper!!LOL
YES to the mad uncomfortable moments (which are all starting to blend into one....) hoovering, cleaning floors, climbing stairs with dd2 or large parcel of nappies, pushing buggy or supermarket trolley up event the slightest slope. they all kill me, cant breath, massive tight bump, feel like i might give birth any moment, hyperventilating.............yep, me too! so assisting in fitting a fireplace tomorrow should be entertaining.........
I wish everyone could come to meet up despite the fact i will be the biggest there i am still looking forward to it. how awesome to be sat with pg ladies just like me!! I'm so used to being stared at for my big bump it will be MAD to all be this kinda shape think the manager of the restaurant is going to freak tho..............I'm not eating properly tho so dont mind me if I just eat starters or just puddings.......
jays i can send you my mobile number if you want. but christ, dont ask me for directions!!LOL!!
something else i really wanted to say but god knows now, pg brain absolutely hopeless with retaining anything at all....

Pennies · 14/11/2005 14:32

Hello - I haven't joined in for ages and ages (almost 6 months - so sorry for being anti-social. Old comuter at home regualrly crashes with big threads so often type but never manage to post. Got a new one now tho so hopefully will have more joy.

Am 37+3 now and really feeling the pinch. Haven't dropped yet (never did with DD until labour). Feeling really really grumpy and stressed though. I had a very very long labour with DD and am worried this is going to happen again. Just want to hibernate and feel very insular. Anyone else like this?

Thought I might be going into labour y'day - had weird feeling on my bump, a bit like I'd been stung by nettles on the inside. It wasn't very nice. Baby moving around quite happily though and no problems since. Scary stuff.

dramaqueen72 · 14/11/2005 14:34

and dont know the gender eihter, but its my preference not to know, never found out with the other three either. makes me keener to try harder during the pushing part LOL!!!!!

oh and geroge, i am actually glad third/fourth/etc babies dont engage til labour, because yes you get all sorts of weird 'new' pains and things from head engaging....LOL you can breath again as they get off your ribs to a point, but I used to get trapped nerves right 'down there' which were very very disconcerting to say the least. and would make your leg suddenly go dead.....in the middle of tescos you would suddenly fall to one side......

dramaqueen72 · 14/11/2005 14:35

George, can spell your name honest.........
welcome back pennies. i hoe your labour is shorter for you this time! and that you dont go just yet but hang on a few weeks

ebbie22 · 14/11/2005 14:47

welcome to the thread....
My belly is big,but it hasnt been burnt[yet]so that must be a gd thing...lol

ninah · 14/11/2005 15:17

lol ebbie
big but raw here too! careful with that glue tho!

george32 · 14/11/2005 15:54

Welcome back Pennies. I think I'm already in hibernation so you're not alone!

DQ, I'm intrigued, what are you making for the meet??? Is it edible??? I'll be joining you with the puddings - is it wrong to have pudding for 3 courses?

Anyone struggle to get out of the bath at the moment? I either hurt my tummy or flood the bathroom as I slide back up the bath.

NCT again tonight & looking forward to it. Forgot to say last week that I was amazed when she showed us pictures of what colour your waters might be - brown / green / orange!!!
Terrified now in case they break when I'm out. Bad enough if they are clear (ish) but brown!!!

ninah · 14/11/2005 16:12

omg I didn't know waters could be coloured! blimey! was induced with ds and when she was prodding about they just went so was in bed and didn't look down, was a LOT tho!

scully · 14/11/2005 16:15

my water was clear, would have panicked if it was any other colour
dq, maybe that's the funny pain/cramp like feeling I have at the top of each leg/groin area, in the last couple of weeks. didn't have it last time but dd didn't engage so could be why.....
still haven't read other thread, think i'll give up and try to read at home......
am also getting funny looks, have been for a while, makes me think I've spilt something and I can't see it
don't know the sex but v v curious now......

dramaqueen72 · 14/11/2005 16:16

LOL george, no not edible.
do we have a list whos going yet.......I cant keep up and would hate to miss anyone out!
(is it alright if I call everyone by their mumsnet name BTW? lord help me if you want me to put faces to the names and then go change the names too!!!)

dramaqueen72 · 14/11/2005 16:19

my waters are usually kinda straw coloured.........alot like wee actually LOL. which is why you never believe its not!! and there are gallons of the stuff!! remember being in labour with dd1 and walking the corridors of maternity unit, stopping for contractions but trying to keep moving..........leaning on dh for one contraction happened to notice porter not far behind me, mopping floor along behind!!!

ei23mummy · 14/11/2005 16:27

welcome to Lulabelle and welcome back pennies - lovely to see you!

I also have the pain/breathlessness thing going on. I hoovered the house today and I'm paying for it now - also set of my heartburn which I seem to have every min of the day now.

DQ - george and I were talking the other day about the possibility of name tags for the meet up?!?!? Ones with both MN name and proper name on. I've got some stiky labels - I can always bring them along. I'm not much into food at the moment either so starter and pudding sounds a great idea.

Well dh came home, said "come on then what do you want to say". He knew I'd been thinking about it all day. He says he's still buying the ring but I've told him he's not (No Scully we can't afford it - especially the amount he was planning on spending ). We got into a lot of debt when we brought our 1st house and after nearly 6 years we are finally comfortable - nothing is taking that away from us!!!!!!!

Needless to say I made sure he didn't ring that bloody competition line this afternoon

Bonkerz - good luck with your talk with dh tonight. I hope you manage to work everything out.

Well I'm off to parents evening now so wish me luck - I hate these things. I always feel like I'm being told off!

DQ: I dont mind being called Bonkerz, although i bet on the day i will be shy and far from living up to my mumsnet name. Am really quite nervous about meeting all you wonderful ladies!
