OK, well we've needed a new thread for ages so I've taken it upon myself to start it.

Good luck ladies - we are nearly down to the last month

35 + 2 or should I say "T minus 4wks 5 days"!

gret start to my mat leave then - where do I start!?!?!?!

Our phone company took a very large amount of money from our accountt oday so I phoned to query it. She told me a payment had been made on a card to clear the bill - I knew nothing about it.

Copy of bill had mysteriously vaished - I phone dh to find out what's going on and find out he's taken out a card, hidden the bill from me and made a secret payment.

He said it was supposed to be a surprise - he arranged a loan with the bank to buy me a diamond eternity ring when the baby comes.

I don't know wether to be really angry coz he's taking out secret cards and stuff or really pleased that he was so thoughtful.

We've just had a row on the phone and I ended up crying. He says I've been stressed lately (which I don't think I have) and he didn't want to worry me about the phone bill so he phoned up and paid it off and hid the bill. He's been phoning a competition lines in the afternoon and it's cost us £70!!! stupid git!!!

Oh SH, be pleased that he is so thoughtful. Bit daft for running up a large tel bill but what a lovely thought about the ring. I asked my DP if he was buying me diamonds and he laughed so I think I might get a box of chocs if I'm lucky!!
Now enjoy day 1 of maternity leave

Great news about Golden Oldie. I must pop across to say congrats.

Baby spent the weekend with it's head under my ribs on the RHS - ouch!! Think it might have moved finally. I'm sure it can't have been comfy with all the poking & shoving I was doing to try to make it move.

ebbie22 · 14/11/2005 10:24

sweetheart · 14/11/2005 10:46

ok well I've had some time to calm down and whilst I think dh was actually trying to be quite sweet I'm still pretty annoyed about the phone bill. Plus if he'd just shown it to me his surprise would still be one!! Oh well, I guess his heart was in the right place - and thinking about it I was pretty wound up over the whole tax credits thing so perhaps it was best he didn't show me the phone bill.

ummmm, well off to do some more house work - hows everyone else today?

i made him a canvas last night, an 'alter art' one of a wedding photo and some written memories.........if i can take a pic to post I will, was meaning to save it for christmas but didnt.......he loved it anyhow. and it was more fun to sit up and make that than tossing and turning in bed!

Seem to have loadsof appointments next couple of weeks so serves me right for moaning about this pregnancy being less complicated than adams..lol I am just waiting for my shopping to arrive and dh to return to work this afternoon then I can try an catch up properly. Have got tons to do but no energy to be bothered..lol So may do a little bit then be back on here.

bonkerz · 14/11/2005 11:35

Hi all, another week!!!!

Dh and i didnt talk in the end. I spent Saturday with the bed all to myself, great except ALex didnt kick all night so spent 3 hours poking her and worrying about nothing!
Got up with the kids Sunday morning and Dh asked where i was going, he decided he wanted to come too so just let him although we didnt say a word to each other! On way back from MIL stopped to have lunch in pub, yet again didnt say a word to DH!! Went to bed and didnt get up till 5pm and then DH asked what was wrong with me!!! Told him straight that i cant be arsed to argue with him but that in 2 days he had showed me that sport and work were more important than me and kids! He didnt say a thing!!!!!!!! He took DSD home and came home with a bottle of coke and a bunch of flowers! Told him that we would talk when im not feeling so drained! So as it stands he knows im annoyed and he knows why but we are being civil and im sure will talk tonight.

Not sure whats happened to me today! Have made a batch of fruit scones, a chocolate sponge cake, have a loaf of white bread in bread maker and have doen 6 chocolate apples and some choccie crispy cakes!! HAve scared myself!!!! Also plan to make DH a bread and butter pudding this afternoon!!

Had spotting this morning so rang midwife and had to go doctors to be checked. She didnt know where blood was coming from but just thinks its a urine infection but wants to wait for results to come back wed before getting anti biotics. As long as alex is wriggling she is ok for me to stay at home! HAve to ring if any more symptoms etc.

Jaysfirst · 14/11/2005 12:19

Chimneys all swept, DQ it was £40 to get it swept, which i thik is good, it hasnt been used for over 6 yrs so i was expecting all sorts of stuff to come tumbling down, but no, it was relativly clean, apparently if its really blocked and takes a lot longer to clean the it would have been £10 more...

SH welcome to mat leave! feels like the norm for me now dont now how i managed work before..... serioulsy think that i wont be going back after my six months, will see i guess! Am guessing DH only wanted to make you feel special, so accept it from him but make sure he doesnt make a habbit of it.... lol you may end up with lots of pressies but also lots of debts!!
DH booked Robbie tix for me, and bought me the dvd at the weekend, hes so thoughful. Gigs not till next september, hard to thin that wee bubs will be 9 months old by then wow!!!
Bonkers, i was like that last Friday, cooked and baked stuff, now have a cupboard full of ckaes and only me to eat them! Its very theraputic though i thik! Have cleaned out the cupboards under the sink, not easy when your SPD is in the full grips of causing untold pain but it was worth it!
Ebbie i have had a stuffy nose for about 6 weeks now, not sure if its a cold or just another prggie thing, feels like i am totally bunged up, seems i have had a touch of most things that occur during pregnancy!

So sunny here today, its a lovely crisp morning, off to check the meet thread now, i am still on par for coming, has anyone swapped numbers, i might need someones number in case of getting lost..any offers?

ThomCat · 14/11/2005 12:25

Hi girls

Hope everything is ok wioth you Bonkerz, you need =some TLC babes. Be good to yourslef sweet. Vent any frustration on here, don't carry it around.

Hope all you lovely ladies are feeling ok today.

I felt so much better this weekend for having Thursday in bed and a semi-chilled day on Friday.
Had a lovely weekend.
Walking up & down Charterhouse St on Saturday night, trying to find the bar, was agony but worth it once we were there. And last night at my brothers new bar in Old St was fab, what an amazing bar with an amazing drinks menu and fantastic food. It really was so, so good and i'm so pround and happy for him.
So a good weekend, took Lottie out on Saturday and she had a fab evening with my friends kids yesterday while we were out.
Fell so much calmer now the nursery is cleared.
Can't do much else till the cleaning people come next Friday to wash all paintwork and windows and shamposs the carpet.
Then I can set cot up and buy the rest of the furniture etc.

Have bought everything now except the wardrobe and a new mattress for the moses basket. Have bought a gift for the new aby, new muslins, everything I can think of really.Everything else is sorted, I think.
Found my old breast pump, a big old plug in industrial one!
Such a good feeling to be organised (smile)

Love to you all. TC xx

ebbie22 · 14/11/2005 12:29

Glad you all had a laugh...lol,so did my dh though if i was him i would of got the camara before helping him....lol
Kinda always feel better throughout the day, always worse 1st and last thing....
Its so quiet here lately....though still bloody hard to catch up with people, wow, sept the babas will be 9 months, doesnt even bear thinking about does it...

Well whoever was going to do a pic for my nursey pls dont worry for the time being as have another idea for them once babys born......Cant even remember if it was a due in dec girly.....

ebbie22 · 14/11/2005 12:31

ninah · 14/11/2005 12:54

ebbie I've just caught up with this and sorry, it WAS funny (you still managed to type as well) hope you OK now!
SH so glad your leaving do was magnificent, I LOVE the venue, looks wonderful. How are you enjoying being away from the office fwiw I think your dh is lovely to buy you a secret ring, how impetuous and ROMANTIC I would LOVE it if p had even a touch of this. Its Murphys law about the phone bill isn't it, good news about tax credits and then oops ...
lol about your shelves george, flatpack is good enough! impressed ...
Great news about goldenoldie
dq my digi camera got raised on and died but only temporarily, can you charge it up and have another go?
Anyone else feeling extremely uncomfortable now? Overdid it yesterday and thought it was all going to kick off on the A14, all still in place but tummy v tight, twingy and sick feeling
Emotionally, not too bad tho!

ThomCat · 14/11/2005 12:57

Hi Ninah
Yes, v uncomfy most of time. Unloaded washing machine and half way through hanging washing had to stop to get my breath back!
made D feel my heart thumping in my chest just from that, he promptly took task over!

ThomCat · 14/11/2005 12:58

Ebbie - just read that part of your post, you mad woman!

Nemo1977 · 14/11/2005 13:06

super uncomfy here...adam fell asleep in car on sat morning so decided would carry him into house and up to bed. By the time I got to top of stairs I couldnt breathe and thought i was going to faint..ended up spending 10mins just standing there holding adam fast asleep trying to catch my breath.

ebbie22 · 14/11/2005 13:10

Hell no,i couldnt type yesterday...was glued together for a gd hour, prayed i didnt start contractions off,but hey job now done[even if fingers feel rough and manky]..
Was bloody good super glue though....lol
Sw i would too be annoyed about phone ins,BUT it has been done now,and u have a nice ring to look forward too.....

scully · 14/11/2005 13:36

sorry ebbie but that is hilarious! good you're unstuck now though sh, I would also be cross about the phone bill, but not the diamond bit, as long as you can afford it. I get jewellery whenever we visit South Africa and are due for a visit next year, I think 2 children and putting up with him will warrant a small purchase
My maternity replacement started today so I'm sick of the sound of my voice already, but am hoping to have most of the training done in the next 3 days so next week I can just sit back and answer any questions that crop up.
Will read the meet up thread now.....
Having spiced apple cake and custard for lunch - baby loves it as it's kicking away

I really don't know how you ladies with children cope. I struggle just hauling myself around let alone having to lift / carry children too. You have my sympathies.
I'm looking forward to the baby engaging and me being able to breathe again - go on tell me, this is bound to bring on more aches & pains somewhere else isn't it!!

ThomCat · 14/11/2005 14:01

2 women in the car park at nursery have started to offer to carry Lottie for me. Teh 2 that offered are actually the grandmas' not the mums. It's so obvious that I am really struggling with a 4 yr old in her winter coat, a school bag and lunchbox etc. My heart is beating so fast and I can barely breathe by the time I've reached the entrance, yet it's only these 2 grandmas that have offered their help

Nemo1977 · 14/11/2005 14:04

TC must be a nightmare. Adam is 26lbs but when hes asleep he is a dead weight..arghh

Know how you both feel, dd is 3.5 and about 15kg, so light for her age and I still struggle just taking her upstairs, let alone anywhere else. Holding her over public toilets when we're out is what I'm find difficult......
George, my baby is 2/5ths engaged apparently, just constant bladder pressure and pain/cramp at the top of both legs, but not all the time though, otherwise just the usual size related issues that happen regardless of where there baby is
Still haven't read the other thread, will try to after some more training.......
