Lol Daisy!!
Felt our bubba outside too on Wednesday night, such a special thing for our OH's isn't it? Makes them more involved :) Felt him/her a few times a day since. My dad thinks I have a footballer to be in there!!

Yukana · 11/04/2011 14:08

Hey all, just updating. :)

Yes I've been getting more hair than usual as well, so you aren't alone. Blush

Vision is swaying and spinning madly right now, have asked DP to go to the shop for me. My dietary needs are different from DP and my mother in the sense that due to being vegan for four years and never being a particular dairy or meat person since I was born, I can't eat the majority of the meals they eat/make.
However, my mother at the moment is very ill and is denying it, she's so stressed I believe she's having bipolar episodes. I've talked to the doctor about it but she said she won't do anything unless my mother contacts her herself, and I've talked to my grandmother but she can't seem to get my mother to get help either. All my mother does is eat a little, sleep, knit and sleep some more. That or watch television and put my headphones on, ignoring the rest of the house including all the chores. I believe her condition is getting worse by having so little room for us here and financial issues, so I will try and get something done asap.

Due to my mother being ill she is really only buying food for herself, she buys a quantity relatively close to what three people can eat, but has barely bought anything for me. (Our grandparents take us food shopping when they want to go as we don't own a car). So, I've having to buy things from the village shop everyday to be able to eat anything at all.

We called up a few houses today, but none accept full DSS. I'm keeping my chin up but it's hard at the moment. I've just got to stay positive. There are no jobs available for DP either.

Going to put my head down I think until DP gets back.

Hi all, just updating...

Have been staying at my folks this week, while they holidayed in France (lucky buggars) and have been looking after their dog, chickens and veggy patch. All very "Good Life" but no internet :(
Will catch up with everyone's posts this evening over a large, pretend, glass of vino. (Good old Schloer! Wink)

MrsS how scary for you, hopefully everything goes smoothly for you and your peas from now on x
never how awful for your sister :(
bebemoon Welcome to the August bunch :)

And in other news ..... I became an Aunty today for the first time to my beautiful new nephew Henry. I now have to explain to my DS that Henry is his cousin and NOT just a Thomas Tank engine!! Grin

Take care all xx

Anu3 · 11/04/2011 15:35

Hi all - Ive just experienced the most wonderful thing today - each time bubba has kicked today ive been able to see it from the outside!!! I can literally see my stomach twinge (over my wrap dress!!!) and at first i thought i was hallucinating. But im sure now cause i got my colleague to see it and she did as well!!!! So excited to go home and let DH see it as until yesterday he couldn?t even feel the kicks :) I just told him over the phone and we are both so excited now. Looks like bubba's grown stronger overnight! Grin.

Klou lol thanks for asking that question - Thought it was just me in the bushy boat and too embarrassed to ask Blush

expectantbean · 11/04/2011 15:51

Hello everyone, I've just been catching up with all your news (I introduced myself weeks ago and then got busy at work and went on holiday). Would recommend the holiday but not the work!

It's lovely to hear about all your scans. I'm sorry you've had such a rough time MrsS, am thinking of you and hope your next scan goes well.

We aren't finding out the colour of our bean but my DH is convinced we're having a pink one Grin

Am also growing a layer of fur on my big round belly Blush so pleased to hear I'm not the only one!

Firawla · 11/04/2011 15:55

awww lovely @ everyone feeling bump from outside and seeing the kicks. i'm feeling mine more now but dh still hasn't, hopefully soon.

leilandri congrats on the new nephew! that will be nice to have nephew and your new one similar in age to play together etc. my ds1 is also obsessed with thomas lol

yukana i hope you get things sorted out with your mums health and ur housing and everything, sounds quite stressful :(
we are still looking to move aswel, just seems to be hardly anything around! but hopefully soon will find something

CappuccinoCarrie · 11/04/2011 16:36

Hi all, congrats on the nephew leilandri. My first one was born recently too and I went to visit them and meet him on saturday, he's sooooo tiny! He was 4 weeks early, but still a healthy 6lb 9oz and longer than my DCs were at term! So nice to snuggle a newborn and really remind myself that I'll have one again too :)

How's the recovery mrss? Thinking of you lots.

yukana you sound very strong to be coping with all that, really hope you can get your own place before baby comes.

neverlookback how awful for your poor sister :( Regarding the debt, my DH volunteers for an incredible charity called CAP which you could try ringing? They don't just give advice like the citizens advice bureau, they negotiate your payment terms for you with all your creditors and hold your hand right the way through the journey out of debt, and there's no charge. Sorry for the little plug, but sounds like something that might really help?

After being battered from the inside by my baby for weeks, DH finally felt some movement from the outside the other day!

bebemooneedsabreak · 11/04/2011 17:02

congrats on the new nephews! :) My dc2 will be the 7th baby of the year in my family and close friends so there's lots of lo's I could be holding. :) tho in Germany I'm too far to hold any :(

Yukana it sounds very stressful to be coping with a poorly Mom not eating well and house stuff?! hang in there! xx

Annie456 · 11/04/2011 17:55

Klou that did make me chuckle! I have nothing interesting to report from "that region" but i'm a couple of weeks behind most of you so there's still time!

I'm 20+1 today (yay for halfway) and have just started getting the worst acid reflux. DH suffers really badly from it and i've never given him much sympathy but this is horrible...it feels like something really hot is caught in my throat. it tends to come on at night and I noticed it today after a less than pleasant conv with my boss. Anyone else got this? Any magic cure?

neverlookback · 11/04/2011 22:10

thanks cappuchino ill tell her about that, he has said he will continue to pay the mortgage temporarily but she is going to have to put it on the market and will prob have to rent but she has 3 dogs too so not many will accecpt them i dont think?

yukana your situation sounds pretty stressful, i really hope that things sort out for you before the baby is born, there must be some charitys that can help with stuff for the baby, it sounds very rural where you live, are you on waiting lists with social and other housing associations to get your own place? (sorry i dont know much about how it all works) hope you get some help for your mum too, could dp's family not help at all?

baby keeps having bursts of kicks but not big enough to feel or see on the outside and dp not felt anything as yet
x

Yukana · 12/04/2011 05:04

For some reason having problems sleeping tonight, so typing this out.

British Royal Legion can thankfully help us with the deposit, but only if the landlord will accept it. I am not sure about charities and to be honest I haven't looked or know where to look, perhaps I should.

We were put into band C for council housing as in our case they probably wouldn't take us more seriously until the baby is born, but considering my mother's stress/health has worsened due to us being here and the financial situation overall, I think they have to take that into account. We have contacted multiple estate agents who say they have nothing available/nothing available for people with full housing benefit but will contact us if anything comes up.

In terms of my mother I have spoken to her parents, her brother and her doctor, (who is also my doctor), but there isn't really anything we can do. My mother is in a state of denial and probably won't seek help. As for DPs family they have let us borrow a small sum of money so I couldn't possibly ask for more.

Lovely to hear about all the kicking! I am getting lots of kicks on my end as well. Am I the only one who gets kicking a lot in short periods of time, and then the baby goes quiet for a while? I probably didn't explain that one very well!

KTisPG · 12/04/2011 08:25

Hello everyone

Is it just my DH who can't feel the baby?? Even when I'm being beaten to death and I swear I can see my tummy moving he still can't feel it Hmm!!

Yukana that kind of kicking pattern is normal I think - the baby has short periods of activity and then goes to sleep (much like a newborn) Grin

Hersetta · 12/04/2011 08:58

Just checking in with you ladies.

I think I am finally out of denial that I am having a baby...if the massive kicks I get 50 times a day weren't a big enough clue!.. as on Saturday I raided the garage and took out the infant car seat, the baby bouncer vibrating seat and my breast feeding cushion, whipped the covers off the lot and washed and dried them and they are now back on and wrapped up in black bags in our downstairs loo ready for use! Feel a little more organised now!

Hope you are well Mrs SteveO and resting and your bubs are continuing to make good progess.

I am 24+2 today so another milestone reached so have ticked that off. Have a hectic few weeks at work coming up and will be working to 10pm or later most nights (and all over easter), but i am just thinking of it as every day is a day nearer to going on holiday.

onEastarEggIGraze · 12/04/2011 09:16

neverlookback your ex-BIL sounds like a prize cunt (sorry for language but really, he does). I hope your sister is getting some solid legal advice and preparing to extract every single element of his obligations to his family.

KTisPG my DH refuses to feel the baby kick yet Hmm He says it is 'too weird'! He was the same last time and to be fair, it is quite weird. We get used to it because it builds up over time, but I'm not sure how I'd react if I put my hand against my loved one's stomach one day and suddenly felt something else shifting about in there.

KLou111 · 12/04/2011 10:05

I get the same Yukana, baby sleeps, then seems to beat the shit out of me, and seems to be mostly when I want to sleep!!!

DH felt baby again last night when we went to bed. Thats seems to be when bubba is most active. He did say it is weird and it must be even weirder for me as it's inside me. He described it as an alien life form trying to escape lol!

JenniL1977 · 12/04/2011 13:11

My DH keeps saying that he thinks the baby's going to crawl out of me and come and get him :) she goes MENTAL when he puts his hand on my tummy.

Aw Yukana, you just can't catch a break can you? Do the DSS have to pay them money direct to the landlord - ie, if they pay the rent money to you, do you have to tell the landlord where it's coming from as long as it gets paid?

Moving in three days, whoop!
Haven't packed a thing, anti-whoop!

KLou111 · 12/04/2011 14:03

Jenni / Yukana, we are Landlords, and we have to know if we have DSS tenants due to mortgage and insurance purposes as some companies won't pay out if they find out you are renting to DSS. We personally don't have a problems with DSS tenants, we've had one in one house for 9 years, but when it comes to risking your investment, it's not worth it. Whether anyone likes it or not, there is still a stigma there with DSS.

Leilandri · 12/04/2011 15:02

Ok peeps, I need your help!

DH is being absolutely USELESS at deciding on a name for our expected DS. I have narrowed names down to 2, and he just says "I'm not bothered, you choose!" Grrrrrr Angry

We have chosen names from family or with meaning, and have narrowed down to Evan Rhys (Evan is my eldest brother's middle name, Rhys is my younger brother's first name) or Leo Kenneth (Leo will be his star sign, but is also the star sign of my mother, my brother and DH's father, and Kenneth is both of my grandfather's first name)
Our surname is Farmer. We don't want first names that can be shortened, and we don't want anything too wierd!

Please let me know what you think on above names, or alternatives, as I'm stuck...... xx

onEastarEggIGraze · 12/04/2011 15:20

What are you talking about Leilandri, you're in the perfect baby-naming position! No interference help from DH, that's the dream Wink Seriously though, I would make absolutely certain that he means it and then pick whichever one you like best. Evan and Leo are both nice names.

Firawla · 12/04/2011 16:27

Leilandri both are nice but personally I like Leo more, but out of the middle names I like Rhys more.
We are stuck for baby names too, need to get the time to put a bit more thought into it i think. Have had some ideas but don't know if they are quite right

bebemooneedsabreak · 12/04/2011 16:47

Leilandri DH and I went back and forth abt names for dc1 (he didn't like any really) but said he didn't really care all that much either on some of the choices...so in the end i.e. right after dd's birth he said you choose; and I did...It was nice actually. :)

I like Leo too (but I'm a Charmed fan...so that might be swaying me a little) Wink

Leilandri · 12/04/2011 16:59

bebemoon Must admit that I'm a huge charmed fan too, which might have helped me to think of the name in the first place. Can't tell DH that tho, as I already got away with calling our cat Prudence before he realised the Charmed connection! Grin

CappuccinoCarrie · 12/04/2011 17:01

I dream of DH giving me freedom to choose the name! From your list Evan and Rhys are my faves :)
DH's latest offering is here, I can't even bring myself to type it!

Leilandri · 12/04/2011 17:11

CappCarrie LMAO!!! Oh my word, I really am lucky aren't I??!!!
Poor you..... that would just get changed to GangBang as he got older!! Grin

bebemooneedsabreak · 12/04/2011 18:20

We've not gone anywhere with names... it's so hard really. We end up offering insane choices to each other making them more and more crazy until we're giggling like school kids... I imagine it'll be a last minute decision again. (maybe I'll get to choose once more Wink )

Leilandri Wink good going on the cat name :)
