Raspberry leaf Brew and Biscuit all round.

Continuation from here. No Mofo C bombs yet been dropped in the delivery room although our first 2 babies have arrived. Congrats to gormers and Jo, we hope your little ones are still doing great.

God Frakk I am sooo jealous of your day sleeping. I would pay a lot of money for a day sleeping right now Grin

JustKeepSwimming · 10/04/2011 16:39

Frak - could happen I suppose, got to wait a few hours before we can even plug it in, grr (it's here btw, boys happy with the big box Grin).

I went back to bed after lunch for over an hour, was bliss.

Lis - could be, have you timed any of the pains?

LisMcA · 10/04/2011 16:54

They don'y go away JKS! I have tried to time them but it's impossible! My leg really aches, like a dead leg. Not had pain like it before during pregnancy. Buster is still wriggling about but lower than normal just behine my belly button!

I got up at 11ish, then watched the F1 GP on Sky+ and snoozed throughout! Had a bath for all of 5 minutes, washed hair, but I'm leaving it to dry itself as can't be bothered!! DH putting up shelves in nursery. He had a rawlplug malfunction and had a bit of a strop(DIY is his nemesis) so soothed his ego a bit.

Now back on the sofa in my nest of cushions! It's the waiting that's the worst thing. I have no patience at the best of times, but this is the worst!!

JustKeepSwimming · 10/04/2011 17:10

Hmm well the leg pain could be a trapped nerve or something. Everything else could be things getting ready without being actual contractions yet.

I'm getting very impatient too, think DH is too, keeps asking me if i'm alright, in that sort of hopeful way Grin

Not sure how I managed the last 2 weeks with DS2 when I was fully expecting him to arrive at 38 weeks like DS1 did.
Only 39 wks today so really need to be more patient....

LisMcA · 10/04/2011 17:29

Yep I was 39 weeks yesterday! But something just feels different today!

In my family we have a trend of birthdays, me and my sister are the 10th of the month, brother, mum and DH are 26th of the month. Dad's the odd one out at the 17th. I was secretly hoping Buster would arrive on the the 10th, but just realised thats today! So maybe not!

I'm going to bounce on the Yoda ball for a while, see what that does!! 11.4.11 is a good date!!

frakyouveryverymuch · 10/04/2011 17:38

Lis you're my English EDD buddy! Also 39 weeks yesterday and convinced 11.4.11 would be a good birthday.

I know I need to be patient, and doubly so as my 'actual' EDD is even later but I think I've convinced myself something is going to happen soon. Or maybe DH just really doesn't want to go to work on Ruesday and is convincing me. The other half of me says Easter Sunday will see me in the maternity unit arguing against induction!

LisMcA · 10/04/2011 17:42

FRAK British I can live with, but I would have thougth by now you knew I'm as Scottish as Haggis, Neeps and Tatties! :o. English! I'm insulted! Wink

lucielooo · 10/04/2011 17:51

think my DP is on tenterhooks here too.. I said 'Ahhh' and something on the tv last night and he nearly jumped out of his seat going 'ARE YOU OK'... yes, yes, DP it was an Ahhh (bless) rather than an AARRGGHHHH no need to panic :)

Just taken long walk to the far away supermarket thats open late on a Sunday to buy pineapples. Long walk under current circumstances being equivalent to what's about 3 minutes in the car but nearly an hour there and back on foot.. Beautiful day for it though - it was lovely :)

Lis I also think that sounds promising and would recommend getting some rest in now just incase! Good Luck!

JustKeepSwimming · 10/04/2011 18:04

Spent ages rereading my AN thread for when I was pg with DS2, was much more patient then than now!
Think I was just getting through the days with a 20month old and not sure I really wanted the baby out at all :)

SIL is due on the 23rd (her first) so it's a bit of a family race Grin

No plug/show/anything interesting here. I just feel huge, uncomfy & ungainly - huffing & puffing getting up & moving around.

JenAT · 10/04/2011 18:28

Well, think I may have spoken too soon! Backache settled down now. Not even had much discharge or any signs of a show since the sweep. I feel like I'm going slightly mad waiting for the first signs of impending labour, then nothing. Oh well at least I will get to watch the last but one episode of 'Waking the Dead' tonight. Been for a walk/waddle in the evening sunshine. It is so lovely out, all the birds singing and spring flowers in gardens, blossom on the tree's. Parents in law visited this afternoon. MIL brought a beautiful white crochet blanket she had made and I went all emotional and a bit tearful.

Lis how are you feeling now?

Lucieloo have you depleted your local supermarkets pineapple stock? I have been eating pineapple too, nice and refreshing but done nothing to make my labour start!

Frak maybe your body is telling you to rest before things kick off. you never know.

No news from Kits sounds promising....

lucielooo · 10/04/2011 18:43

JenAT judging by the fact I can't get a mw's appointment I think there's a baby boom in the area at the moment so I'm sure it's all the other mums-to-be that have got there before me and pinched all the pineapple!! Apparently you need to eat about 7 to have any effect though Hmm

It's lovely out here too.. Spring is a great time to be having a baby :) Lucie-all-is-right-with-the-world-loo

LisMcA · 10/04/2011 18:53

Still the same Jen. Leg not so sore, but I took some of my SPD painkillers. Still got the period pain, but it's no worse.

The excitiment of my horse winning that National didn't do anything, so I'm hoping that cheering on Rory McIlroy at the Masters might do something in a more sedate way!

If I get one more text from a friend suggesting sex to bring on labour I may not be responsible for my actions!! I also can't stand pineapple or curry so I'm having to place my trust in RLT and bouncing! And possibly some nipple tweaking :o

Frak I was only joking

kitstwins · 10/04/2011 18:59

Nope, nothing from me. Just apathy combined with tearful four year olds so I haven't had much chance to get online. Still producing endless amounts of 'show' but nothing else happening. Am officially bored and p*ssed off. Have cheered myself up by checking the STATS thread though and realising that I'm not the only one overdue. Overdue ladies, I feel your pain!

Friend told me to "relax" about it all, which I'd like to put up there with being told it when you're trying (and failing) to get pregnant as one of the most annoying things to hear.

LisaMc & Jen it all sounds promising. Reckon you'll both 'go' imminently...

Right, got to go and read some bedtime stories.

frakyouveryverymuch · 10/04/2011 19:03

Lis my apologies Grin anglophone? That just sounds really pretentious though!

MuffinMouse · 10/04/2011 19:41

jenAT thanks you've cheered me up - I thought Waking the Dead finished last week. Yay! Hope things start moving soon for you.

I am starting to feel grateful that I have a csection date next week - even though I'm crapping myself quite nervous as they've got lots of scarring to cut through apparently.

Is anyone else still trying to get everything organised - or is it just me Blush I can't seem to get much done. (Blaming swollen feet and ankles but day dreaming and snoozing are as much to blame)

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 10/04/2011 20:20

JenAt - have read that it is believed that 3 sweeps on the trot (not sure if they are on subsequent days, or every other day etc) are more effective than just one. Maybe speak to your MW if you are keen to kick things off. However with a high Bishops Score like that it sounds like your body is doing it all itself anyway.

Lis - Has the baby engaged a bit more and trapped a nerve do you think?

Lots of sleeping sounds lovely Frakk, do it now while you've got the chance is what I say Grin

We spent most of the day at my parents and had a lovely roast dinner, we also saw my sister, her dh and my niece and nephew. DS had a whale of a time with his cousins, it's lovely to see them together Smile

My pregnancy anthem came on the radio while I was driving down to my mm and dad's and I blubbed like a bloody baby Blush I really don't remember being THIS hormonal in my other pregnancies.

DH and I have come to a decision that we are going to call a halt to house renovations for a while once ds's room is finished. I find it really disruptive having so many people in the house and I'm also looking after ds on my own on a Saturday as well as Mon-Fri, hence for the past 3 Saturdays in a row I've cried at some point during the day. Blush

We're both great believers in the body and mind feeling safe, settled and ready before the body allows itself to go into labour (we're a wee bit hippyish!) and have agreed that me being knackered and emotional is not going to help things. It feels like a real relief making that decision tbh, and dh really needs a rest too as he's working 6 days a week then doing the lion's share of looking after ds on Sunday to give me a break.

JustKeepSwimming · 10/04/2011 20:57

ILike - sounds like a good idea to put things on hold for a bit :)

Kits - shame i thought you would have had baby by now.

Loads of BHs tonight, have been timing them, sometimes 10mins apart sometimes not. Pretty sure it's not anything kicking off. Will head off to bed in a mo, hopefully see some baby news in the morning from someone.

lucielooo · 10/04/2011 22:59

Is there any way that constant tummy ache is anything other than trapped wind? Bearing in mind it came on swiftly after eating half a fresh pineapple I think I know the answer to this is going to be 'no'!!

NotAnotherNewNappy · 10/04/2011 23:22

Lucie My contractions started with a constant period pain type ache...

Thanks for the swaddling advice everyone. I ordered the 'swaddle me' thingy as Kiddicare sold it and I have an account with them so it required the least amount of thinking Grin

LisMcA · 11/04/2011 01:22

I've had tummy ache all day lucie, it's still there and I can't sleep.

frakyouveryverymuch · 11/04/2011 04:06

Well 7am, no baby, no sign....

This waiting game is killing me! I need productive things to do. Maybe going back to sleep? But how can I still be tired?! I slept from about half past midnight Saturday night until easily 10am, snoozed for another couple of hours, lazed in bed all day with a good 4 hour snooze in the afternoon and slept from 10.30pm til 6.15am this morning. Someone please tell me excessive sleeping is a sign of imminent labour!

lucie could be something....or could just be a result of pineapple guzzling!

LisMcA · 11/04/2011 04:12

Wish I could sleep Frak its still sunday for me!!

tis rubbish this imminent birth thing!

frakyouveryverymuch · 11/04/2011 04:29

Still no sleep? You poor thing :(

have you tried meditation?

Petalouda · 11/04/2011 05:22

Morning Wide Awake Club.

No practical suggestions here, I'm afraid. I just wanted to join in. DS has just spent 20 mins trying to chew my R nipple off (well, that's what it felt like). Bit nervous for Lefty now, but here goes!

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 11/04/2011 07:12

Another one here who had a shocking nights sleep . No doubt the lunchtime nap didn't help .........

DS is at his granny's this afternoon so I'll try to wear myself out walking along at 1mph doing some shopping, then maybe I'll sleep better tonight
