Raspberry leaf Brew and Biscuit all round.

Continuation from here. No Mofo C bombs yet been dropped in the delivery room although our first 2 babies have arrived. Congrats to gormers and Jo, we hope your little ones are still doing great.

Sats - that is a bit too exciting. Reminds me of when pg with DS1 & was under instructions to only call DH during work if it was labour/an emergency.
The cats brought in a live frog which was leaping around the kitchen. I was trying to sweep it out through the open door with a broom, every time the broom touched it, it leaped about a bit more, i screamed, and repeat...
I called him and left a message; 'it's not life or death for me but it is for this frog!!'
I did manage to persuade it outside, the cats of course legged it straight out too, so i shut the kitchen door and left them to it.

Just been unreasonably cross with DH for needing to go out for a few hours work.

And tbh i'm bored. There's so many things i'd like to get done but physically can't do. Dh's helpful suggestions: sleep (done that already today), have a baby Hmm
luckily for him he went out then!!

lucielooo · 14/04/2011 15:37

Know the feeling JKS!! Am feeling really bored today! The last of my antenatal group has gone into labour this morning so I'm the last one to pop.. There are plenty of things that I could be doing but I feel to heavy to even get off the sofa!! Planning to do a bit more batch cooking this afternoon but that's about it... Come on baby!!!

JustKeepSwimming · 14/04/2011 15:43

True I could do baking. Maybe tomorrow Grin

I was hoping my massive order of photos would arrive today so i could sort them into the boys' albums but no luck.

Actually tomorrow DH is off and i have a full day planned, so a) the photos will arrive or b) i'll be in labour & have to cancel plans!!

sats1977 · 14/04/2011 16:28

JKS, lol at the frog drama, they are fast and slippery little buggers aren't they! I can totally see why you called your DH, I have to admit I called mine too today, in tears...But was quick to say to him "don't worry, it's nothing to do with the baby"! Just me and my crazy hormones & one sad looking fox.

Now chilling on the sofa and filling in a donation form about adopting a fox at the rescue centre for our little boy, I think once he's older he'll love the story of helping mummy rescue a fox while still in my tummy!

kittycatcat · 14/04/2011 17:02

sassy congrats on the arrival of Lucy :)

sats glad the meds have worked. Good work re houswork and posh romantic dinner :) Enjoy! Sorry your cats still missing :( Blimey what an afternoon for you!! Glad the fox is being looked after

Jen fingers crossed for you

Lis enjoy Mr Kay tonight

I think kittens head may have engaged as my lady bits ache now, but i dont have the water melon between legs feeling....

JKS i sorted 900 photos over the last few weeks. Really enjpyed it.

The inlaws came and took me for a pub lunch yesterday. Very nice.

frakyouveryverymuch · 14/04/2011 18:03

Well I had backache and period pain earlier. Now nothing. Grrrr.

Loving the random wildlife stories!

SaltedPretzels · 14/04/2011 18:54

Sassy Congratulations on your little girl, glad your both well.

Lis Hope the laughter has the desired effect as well as a really good night out, fingers crossed, take a change of clothes in case you burst with laughter Grin

Well today went with Mother in Law to antenatal, MW surprised I'm still pregnant, booked sweep for Wednesday so this done I'm hoping it's enough to start before the appointment as is usually the case when you have something booked (that's my theory anyway)!
Went over a few speed bumps and drove over al the mountain passes, headed to the furthest side of the Lakes to the hospital and NOTHING Hmm argh well heading out tonight for a curry Grin

Good luck anyone labouring xx

frakyouveryverymuch · 14/04/2011 19:09

Well Holly W's jumped the queue - she has a 5lb2oz baby girl called Belle apparently :)

3 days worth of contractions. Ouch!

kittycatcat · 14/04/2011 19:14

Oh thats iccle. Will google it now :) PS how dare she!

JustKeepSwimming · 14/04/2011 19:17

Kitty - 900?! I've ordered 300 and feel ridiculous. Esp as Dh is totally unconvinced of the need for any to be printed out & says the kids will just throw them all out when they're older Hmm

Frak - i've just seen that news, grr at queue-jumping!! Envy

MW due here for next visit tomorrow morning, am hoping it coincides with something/anything happening.

Had a painful BH just now an was kind of huffing & groaning through it, Dh is like 'what's that noise? what are you doing?' err DH only been having these for weeks now you dope!

Tidied the bathroom cabinet earlier, threw out old medicines, etc. Feel i have achieved something with the day, lol Grin

Dh gone out to get a curry even though i had one last night too, he was jealous and fancies one now!

kittycatcat · 14/04/2011 19:20

JKS 550 wedding pics (got married last June and had lovely album made but wanted all pics printing), honeymoon pics, and every occasion since then :) i love looking through pics.

JustKeepSwimming · 14/04/2011 19:22

Oh Kitty that reminds me of a long lost job - we had disposable cameras at our wedding & I've no idea what happened to all the films....(married in 2004, oops!).

Sassy20 · 14/04/2011 21:05

Not sure what the postnatal thread is so thought I'd post my birth experience on here. As I posted was having contractions throughout early hours of Tuesday only for them to stop in the morning. Well started up again later that aft and started getting more intense at 7pm onwards. Used tens machine but by 2pm was in pain -think very strong period pains - so phoned hospital and said I could go in and they'd give me some pain killers but would prob be sent home again. Got there and got checked out and turned out I was actually 4cm dilated so was allowed to stay. Managed on gas and air for next 6 hrs but waters hadn't broken so had epidural as was getting more intense by minute! Highly recommend! Made things so much easier and was able to rest. Got put on syntocin drip as not dilating well and then things sped up. Ended up having ventouse delivery as both me and baby were too tired after 24 hrs of labour so have ended up with stitches but not that bad. Hope that helps those of you still waiting, it really wasn't that bad.

Sassy20 · 14/04/2011 21:28

Tried to correct time in first post but just ended up reposting whole thing again!

JenAT · 14/04/2011 22:35

Lis hopefully you are currently having a fantastic time watching Peter Kay . I think he is hilarious.

Sats wow an eventful afternoon for you indeed. I think it would be a lovely thing to adopt a fox and then be able to tell your child when they are older all about your dramatic fox rescue experience when heavily pregnant.

Sassy thanks for posting your birth story. You are very matter of fact about it. I imagine being in labour for >24hrs is absolutely exhausting.

I Have been trying to arm myself with up to date knowledge about induction and found a NICE guideline which is very comprehensive.
guidance.nice.org.uk/CG70/Guidance/pdf/English. I hope I have managed to copy and paste correctly. I think I have actually changed my mind about Artificial rupture of membranes (amniotomy) from reading the guideline and the evidence. I would prefer to have a vaginal prostaglandin rather than going straight for amniotomy, but will discuss this with the midwife when I go in to be induced. Of course I still have the option of expectant management too. Thanks for input also from caramel and Chilli

Right off to bed now, good luck to anyone currently in labour, although I doubt very much you will be on mumsnet!

LisMcA · 14/04/2011 22:51

Well ladies Peter sends his love!! We are now stuck in the car park and going nowhere fast! Grrrrrr! Very tempted to spill my water down my front and demand they let us out the back way!

The wanted were also playing tonight so I spent half an hour watching all these 15/16 yos wear very little teetering in heels along the walk way! Bless! They have no idea how sore their feet are going to be in a few hours!

LisMcA · 15/04/2011 00:13

Home now! Honest to goodness I have never seen organised chaos like it! You pay on the way out of the car park!

Buster is going mental, but I can't see anything happening tonight.

Had MW today too. We are 4/5 enganged! No sweep today though, MW didn't think it was a good idea. Personally I think she said she would do a sweep at my last appointment because I was so miserable. Not usual policy to do one before EDD. So we wait until next Thursday now. Induction can only be booked once you are a week late and they won't do one until 40+12, so 28th it is if he doesn't make an appearance before! If I miss this wedding I will be very huffy!!

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 15/04/2011 08:17

Glad you had a good time Lis - apart from the car park debacle of course!

JenAT - I would personally go for the pessary first too if I were in your situation. You remind me of my friend who had her 2nd at the end of last year. She had numerous sweeps and I think by the last one she was 4cm dilated but not in labour. She opted for the pessary and went off like a rocket and had a great birth. I hope it will be the same for you :-)

Sassy - the post natal thread is where you graduate to when you have had your baby. I'll probably be there in May

frakyouveryverymuch · 15/04/2011 09:10

Yay for a good time, lis although sorry laughing into labour didn't help! I too shall be very annoyed if I miss the wedding. Mind you our TV had better start receiving BBC World properly - it's all juddery at the moment...

sassy you sound really chilled about the birth despite a long labour and an assisted delivery. That's really confidence boosting, especially as a first timer!

kitty very impressed with your photo organising. I haven't managed to get either of our albums sorted. Haven't even managed to choose from the 1000+ photos of the first wedding we want printed! I fear it will never actually get done, although my parents got us a really lovely album for our first wedding anniversary. It think it was a hint of some kind.

Thanks for the link to the NICE induction guidelines jen. I have an appointment next Tuesday to discuss 'options' (sounds ominous, doesn't it?) if baby hasn't arrived by then. Hope you manage to go into labour spontaneously but forewarned is forearmed.

Update on the rib pain - cured by yoga. I decided that I was sodding well going to go to the gym rhis morning because I had nothing better to do and I get a perverse kind of pleasure for the concerned look on the manager's face whenever I see him (although I have a doctors note and my instructors are fine keeping me in the class). So I told the instructor I was going to take it easy and I'd had some pain under my ribs etc, did the class, 15 minute session after with her focusing on asanas to open up my rib cage and realign my spine , pain virtually gone. Take that, Western medicine.

New thread title suggestion? I had the hokey cokey in my head all sodding day yesterday...

April 2011?Half in! Half out! On the grumpy couch...do the hokeycokey, breathe the baby out, that?s what it?s all about

kittycatcat · 15/04/2011 09:27

Love the next thread name suggestion.

lis glad u had a good night exc the escape

JenAT · 15/04/2011 09:34

Morning.

Frak good thread title, made me chuckle Grin . Brilliant that rib pain has settled for you. I planned to do antenatal yoga but never got round to finding a class. Will definitely book onto postnatal yoga course, as I did it with dd and found it incredibly relaxing and lovely.

Lis glad you had a good time last night.

ILTMIMI thanks for positive thoughts about my induction tomorrow. I do feel like this baby could literally just drop out so who knows! Going to go for my usual 2 mile walk this morning to see if it starts anything off. I am feeling nervous but also excited that there is a definite end to my pregnancy and finally I will get to meet my baby either tomorrow or Sunday.

Kitstwins been thinking of you. Hope you are ok and your ds is doing well.

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 15/04/2011 09:43

Jen good luck for your induction :)
I was induced with DS1 and refused it with DS2 because I couldn't face it again. In the end, I was so unfavourable that my ob. didn't even want to try - partly because of my previous section and gestational diabetes though so not a comparable situation to yours.
I will be sending you lots of positive vibes though - hopefully you will be like my Mum who was due to be induced with my youngest DB and went into super-fast labour the night before, it took less than an hour and my Dad nearly didn't get there in time Grin

Frakk - glad you are feeling better!

Lis - yay for fitting in one more night out Grin

MrsWajs · 15/04/2011 11:21

Yeah Frakk love the name!! It reminded me of the hokey cokey as well!!

Well really thought I might of started something off yesterday with my hoovering and house work, back was really achey and pelvis was sore, kinda like a nagging, annoying pain. Ended up taking paracetamol about 6pm and walked into town with DP for a curry and walked home again afterwards - I'd never felt so good when I got home!! Bizarre, maybe my body is trying to tell me that sittin around all day doing nothing is no good for me (like I didn't already know that!!)

Got my mum to stick the TENS on me yesterday to have a little fiddle about with it - nearly sh*t myself when she turned it on!! Really didn't expect the sensation to feel how it did, despite using them at work on patients!! At least we're au fait with it now and know what we're doing when the time comes!

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 15/04/2011 13:49

Great thread title Frakk, how do you come up with them? I obviously have NO imagination!

Also glad you rib pain has gone. I had a sore shoulder for about a year after I had ds2 (me sitting badly when bfing Blush ) and after 2 sessions of yoga the pain had gone, never to return. Once this little one is settled in the early evening I will defo be returning to my yoga class, although I know the first class will be like torture - it's 2 hours long and a really small class so it's quite intense.

JenAT - just so you don't get your hopes up, did they say they will defo induce you over the weekend? I know here they may get you in over the weekend to talk about induction procedures, but they only actually induce Mon-Fri. Just thought I would mention it as I know that you probably can't think of much else at the moment, and then to have things change at the last minute can be crushing.
