Raspberry leaf Brew and Biscuit all round.

Continuation from here. No Mofo C bombs yet been dropped in the delivery room although our first 2 babies have arrived. Congrats to gormers and Jo, we hope your little ones are still doing great.

My EDD is 4 April so now you're a due date buddy Liv.

Good to know they're keeping an eye on you and it's reassuring. Hurray for holding little babies!

Am watching OBEM and welling up, triplets have just been delivered early and they're gorgeous but one is so tiny...

lucielooo · 28/03/2011 21:39

Congrats on Baby Felix petal sorry to hear it didn't go to plan, but at least little one is here safe and sound.

And huge congratulations to Poodle too! and welcome to Joshua!

Two of my nct group had their babies on saturday... What a babyfest!! :) :)

Good to hear an update from you Jo So pleased to hear Conor is doing ok, do you have any ideas when he might be able to come home yet?

I can't even contemplate 14 pounds! That's like... a toddler?!

MrsWajs · 28/03/2011 21:41

I'm joining you with the tears at OBEM Cycle god knows what I'll be like when it's my own!!!

1stTimeMother · 28/03/2011 23:20

Wow - I've been away since last thursday and it has all gone off round here!!!! HUGE congratulations to Stuffed, LJB, April, Petal & Poodle and welcome to your little ones! I am just trying to catch up properly with everyone but am very excited that babies are arriving and just hope you're all well & happy and healthy.

I'm 36+3 here and just getting more and more uncomfortable but still active so I'm at least grateful for that. Even got my home office painted today so feeling rather pleased with myself. Just got to get through SIL's wedding in 10 days time then I'm going to ramp up the efforts to get baby out on time/early. Still need to think about packing hospital bag I suppose...

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 29/03/2011 08:33

I watched OBEM last night which was a bit of a mistake I think. I understand that these things happen and that it is some people's reality, but it was quite hard to watch when your lo's arrival is imminent wasn't it?

It made me think even more about gormers and Joew, what amazing and brave ladies they are. Apologies if that sounds patronising, it really isn't meant to be.

A morning of batch coking lasagne here while ds is at pre school - what a rock and roll life I live!!!

Cyclebump · 29/03/2011 08:53

I too am always amazed at how the parents of babies in the SCBU handle things, it must be very hard.

Am so tired again. Must have turned over 15 times in bed last night before giving up and sleeping sitting up on the sofa Sad At least Mr Handsome and The Fat One were pleased, they each took up station with me, one against the bump and one behind my knees. That's how DP found us this morning, he hadn't even noticed I'd gone. Bodes well for him sleeping with through baby crying...

Can't believe you're doing a wedding in 10 days 1stTimer, let's hope you don't join the early birds list!

Daisy17 · 29/03/2011 09:11

Oh WOW, babies everywhere, congrats everyone!! My dodgy tummy has now gone away completely so obviously false alarm.... I must say that despite not really being a herbal tea gal I am REALLY enjoying the RLT! Yum!

architien · 29/03/2011 09:14

Morning things done. I'm going to sit down and watch OBEM.

BeetleBaby · 29/03/2011 11:06

Another night of little sleep here as well ( though no cats to cuddle on the sofa with when I finally gave up on sleep Envy ).

Arch my morning seems similar to yours, jobs done then OBEM, which I inevitably ended up sobbing at. I remember thinking when this series started that the last episode would be the week before I'm due...which means I'm due next week, how did that happen? Shock !

Daisy glad your tum is feeling better!

Jo I'm so pleased to hear that Conor is doing well, keep it up little one!

Right, I'm off to take a shower and (hopefully) finish shaving my leg. Yesterday I managed a leg and a half before Little Insect decided that I should look like a part-yeti and wedged itself under my ribs, again, so I couldn't bend to reach the hairy bits!

LisMcA · 29/03/2011 11:52

Good Morning Ladies (checks clock, yep still morning, just)

Another night of sleeplessness here! Finally fell asleep at about 7.30 til 11.15. So beter than nothing I suppose! I am having a pj day today! I over did it yesterday with my shopping escapade and now can barely move! But I had to do what I had to do yesterday so a day of sitting on my a*se is ok!

Does anyone know when Holly Willobooby is due? I am very Envy at how good she always looks!

architien · 29/03/2011 12:00

Well that took nearly three hours to watch as Fraser was tired but really wanted to stay awake so lots of stops and starts along with potty false alarms.

I think one good thing about watching OBEM is that should any of us need our babies to have special care it will not seem so alien as at least we've seen what the equipment looks like.

I kept wanting to give Nando a kick up the bum. Goodness. They were a lovely couple and all but I can't help but feel that he needed to be a little more focussed on supporting his partner rather than getting his mum to be his spine. Maybe I'm being harsh.

I've been feeling lots of hiccups lower down. I'm really hoping that's a good sign for baby being head down.

I'm quite restless just now. I wonder how Ali got on yesterday.

JustKeepSwimming · 29/03/2011 13:42

Watching OBEM now - total sobfest at the triplets birth, the tiny one is soooo tiny!!

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 29/03/2011 13:51

I've been thinking about Ali too. Did she know the sex of her baby?

A day of sitting on your arse is always good imo Lis Smile

I think Holly Wiloughby (sp?!) is due in May, but I'm not sure exactly when. She always looks good because she probably has a stylist, nanny and cleaner

2 huge lasagne's have been made, I'm now waiting for them to cool down so I can portion them up and freeze them. I think a ragu for spag bol will be the next thing on my list to make, then no doubt a chilli. I'll be sick of minced meat within a few weeks of the birth, but I can't think of many other meals that freeze well and don't need much doing to them once defrosted. Any ideas?

I also cleaned out our old bedroom as it's going to be ripped apart, replastered and decorated so it becomes ds's room. I was [shocked] by how filthy the carpet was, especially under the bed. The dust! My god the dust! Blush

architien · 29/03/2011 15:43

Instead of the massage I ordered flowers, chocs and card for mother in law from my husband and son, so that's all done. It feels weird that my mum, gran and grandma aren't about for me to make a fuss of on Mother's day.

I think I must be getting nervous about tomorrow I just dropped on of my nice mugs and smashed it in the kitchen.

kittycatcat · 29/03/2011 17:28

Aussie your boss sounds like a tit.

Jo great to hear from you and hear Conor is doing so well.

Salted good to hear from you and glad you are feeling better.

Sarah Sorry to hear about the SPD :(

Liv you will have your baby next week!!! OMG. Glad they are looking after you.

Arch good luck for tomorrow.

DH said i snored last night and he kicked me. Charming. He gets one nights disturbed sleep and moans ;)
I have just been to the docs as i suspect i have an infection (TMI alert) smell, some white discharge, but no itching. MW said to see doc. Doc gave me a pessary without even examining me??!??!??
Last day at work tomorrow... and i've got my appraisal. Oh joy. Was supposed to catch up with my boss at 1130 last thurs, she comes in that day at 830 and says need to make it your appraisal so have a think. 3 hours notice, new format, no warnin, and i was training the temp. er! Called her PA who put it in for tomorrow. I hate appraisals so not an ideal end... but at least it is the end until november, and in good news app she wont be my boss when i go back. Whoop.
Also sobbed at OBEM last night. Is it me or is all about csec on there. Those babies were sooooooo teeny. glad it was a happy outcome all round.

NotAnotherNewNappy · 29/03/2011 17:38

Well you have all inspired me to get moving today. I managed to get to the market and have been cooking veggie chilli all afrernoon. I did get a bit embarrassed when a few random strangers in the street shouted out "Any day now?", but hey ho.

ILTMI - It's difficult to get away from mince, isn't it? Last time, when I only had to feed DH and myself, I made a few lamb and chicken curries (Jamie Oliver recipes). This time our frozen dinners also have to be toddler friendly. I did try to introduce DD1 to the delights of a lovely home made chicken tikka masala, but it was all too much and sparked off a massive tantrum where she screamed "Don't want it, my curry!" at me and DH while we tried v hard not to laugh. I best make sure I have plenty of fish fingers in Blush The other thing I have done is cook the same meals, i.e. Bolognase and chilli, but with veg instead of mince (aubergine, corguette, mushrooms, peppers). DH would normally complain but, once The chaos of DD2 arrives, I reckon he'll be so hungry he'll eat anything.

I used up all the tissues in the house last night watching OBEM.

Arch - Hiccups lower down is a very good sign baby may have turned. Sometimes I feel DD2 hiccuping in my pelvis and a few days ago I got v excited that she was atually on her way as I could feel them in my bum! Grin

Cyclebump · 29/03/2011 17:40

Woah! Just had a major wobble. Made mum drop me home after a really painful period-type cramp in the car. Got home and nearly passed out after going all faint, bump went rock hard, it eased off and then did it again.

Suddenly felt better and ravenous and have shovelled down beans on toast. Might have a bath in a minute as am still uncomfortable but at least I've stopped having weird contractions. No show or leakage so I'm sure it's all just practice for the main event. Sigh. Is rubbish.

Work rang last night, my lack of maternity pay is a massive payroll cock up because of my TUPE transfer in July. HR woman massively embarrassed as they cocked up our pay when we first moved too. Heyho, at least I'll get my money at some point.

caramellokoalalover · 29/03/2011 18:29

Good luck for tomorrow Arch, you sound super organised even thinking about mother's day!

ILTMIMI, I found this page on Good Food's website with ideas for freezer meals that aren't all mince based: freezer meals It might be because I'm hungry, but there are some that look really tasty.

Lots of sobbing my way through OBEM this afternoon. Wish the lovely Kay worked at the hospital I'm going to be at.

Starshaped · 29/03/2011 19:08

Oooh, some of those recipes sound yummy - definitely some ideas for when my maternity leave starts! Must admit that I was struggling for some mince free freezable recipes too!

Is anybody else suffering from dead hands/arms at night? If so, any tips on how to deal with it? They've been stopping me sleeping for ages now and it's driving me mad...

JustKeepSwimming · 29/03/2011 19:54

I ordered Mother's Day flowers (x2) back in Feb
(only because I had a voucher that needing using up by the end of Feb!)

DS2 poorly (again), & both boys resisting sleep until much later than usual. Think we need at least a week post-clock-change before baby comes!

1stTimeMother · 29/03/2011 19:55

Had check with consultant today and all seems to be good and in the right place but she said I was 3/5 and then just as I was about to ask what that actually means we moved onto something else and I forgot.... can anyone explain please?????

JustKeepSwimming · 29/03/2011 20:06

1stTime - it depends, could either mean 3/5ths 'palpable' or 3/5ths 'engaged'.

the first means she can feel 3/5ths of the baby's head above the pelvis, so 2/5ths engaged.

the second means she can't feel 3/5ths of the head, ie can feel 2/5ths.

Did she write on your notes? Not that there's a huge difference either way.

SnapFrakkleAndPop · 29/03/2011 20:28

The answer, 1stTime is you're roughly halfway there, depending on whether she said engaged or palpable but the difference is, literally, a finger width. The important this is you're on the way.

I braved going to Body Balance today. Everyone seems slightly shocked and nervous that I'm still there but I have aeons to go. It's definitely getting much tougher though!

Gosh all of you are so productive, organising Mother's Day and cooking and everything. I'm doing absolutely none of that, although I should get flowers ordered for my mother and try and organise some things at least....

LisMcA · 29/03/2011 21:00

Frakk i can't believe you are still going to fitness classes. The most exercise I've had today was reaching up to get a bar of chocolate from my secret stash! It then gave me heartburn!

We've just had a phone call. DH's dad has been taken back into hospital. His chest infection hasn't cleared and he is very confused and drowsy. What next?

Liv77 · 29/03/2011 21:08

My freezer is jampacked so no room for any homecooking, which is good as I don't feel inclined to do any at the moment. I gave DS a lovely waitrose chicken pie for tea and he took one bite and refused to eat the rest as it wasn't "nanny's pie" (my mum makes them from scratch for him and writes his name on the top in short crust pastry). He cheered up when I reminded him it was wednesday tomorrow as wednesday is "nanny sausage day". Grin

Mother's day present for my mum is sorted. My cousin has started taking photos professionally and she took a lovely natural shot of my parents at her sister's wedding last september. Mum and Dad havn't seen it so I've ordered a copy and had it framed. I just have to get her a nanny present now but I don't think she'll mind too much what it is as she'll be getting her 2nd granchild the day after.

Fetal heart rate monitoring was fine this morning although I am a little anxious about the babies movements which have been a lot less over the last few days, trying not to worry as long as I feel some. Mentioned it this morning when checked and they didn't seem concerned. Next check is tomorrow morning at 11.30. I'll have to go and have a bounce around on my yoda ball this evening and see if I get a response. Baby did give a good kick this afternoon when DS decided to jump on me when I was dozing on the sofa.

A friend who gave birth last Tues to her DS2 and went home on Thurs am was back in hospital by the evening with childbirth fever Shock, she is only now starting to recover and is in isolation on the maternity ward. I'm hoping she'll be well enough for a visit soon. She posted briefly on FB this morning and said that she's glad her mum made her go back to the hospital. I guess it just goes to show that no matter how old you are, you should always listen to your mum!

Arch Good luck for tomorrow Smile
