Raspberry leaf Brew and Biscuit all round.

Continuation from here. No Mofo C bombs yet been dropped in the delivery room although our first 2 babies have arrived. Congrats to gormers and Jo, we hope your little ones are still doing great.

Whoop. Huge congrats to petal on the arrival of Felix and poodle on the arrival of Joshua! Fab news.

Arch glad you have a scan booked. Fingers crossed!

I have tomorrow and wed am left at work. Kitten is due a month today... And he will be joining the boys.

LisMcA · 28/03/2011 16:49

Has anyone seen Salted going about? She's not posted on the new thread yet and I think her last post was something about falling off her yoda ball and having a concussion.

MrsWajs · 28/03/2011 16:55

Another one!! Congratulations Poodle

Had MW appt this afternoon and everything fine, bump is now measuring 36cms as it should be and urine was clear! Yay!!
MW also confirmed that the period type pains are nothing at all to be worried about and perfectly normal for this stage also no mention of baby being engaged at all so think I'll be hanging out here until early May :(

MrsWajs · 28/03/2011 16:59

Oooh cycle speaking of that, I was reliably informed yesterday that if your waters break in John Lewis' or Mothercare you get a years supply of nappies and if they go in Marks & Sparks you get a grand!!! A good reason if any was needed to be hanging around the shops near to due date!! :)

AussieMum2Be · 28/03/2011 17:13

Wow another !!!! Congrats Poodle and little Joshua, this is so exciting !!

I asked my boss if I can start leaving at 4.30pm to avoid the peak hour tube as im 38 weeks and planning to work until 4 days before EDD so for 2 more full weeks

And she said that she has to check policy with area manager, as if i want to take any time off within 4 weeks of EDD,she thinks i have to start my maternity leave, all i want is a little manager discretion !! Ive worked for the company for 11 years and am one of their top performers, im so annoyed.

She's been my manager for a couple of years and my old boss wouldnt have battered an eyelid and been grateful that im still working !!!

Ahhhhhh, what a Biatch !!! Really Peed off, makes me want to just quit tomorrow, she said she'll come back to me and that was this morning and she hasnt even bothered to email me back !!

Im thinking of speaking to the Director of company who i know quite well, they already know I think she is a terrible manager and have feedback in employee surveys and verbally to them, if no response by tomorrow, well i'll see then !! (I really hate confrontation so not good at that kind of thing and avoid at all costs usually !!)

SnapFrakkleAndPop · 28/03/2011 17:18

Could you offer to arrive earlier so it's not 'time off' but flexi? Or a shorter lunch?

Sounds like she's just being difficult really...grrr on your behalf.

Not heard from salted. Hope she's okay.

Good news from the MW, MrsW. Glad your measurements are back on track and surely at the moment no impending news is good news? Or you'll be joining the twinge-freakout club!

OP posts:
Cyclebump · 28/03/2011 17:23

That's annoying Aussie. I thought it was just pregnancy related illness that meant try could start your maternity leave early?

I emailed my employers first thing to tell them I hadn't been paid anything since my maternity leave started (am therefore a week short on this month's pay) and they haven't even acknowledged receipt of my message Angry

That's what I'd heard too MrsW hence our tour of posh shops. Also, my mw said my period like cramps could be the neck of the womb preparing so it could be a good thing!

LisMcA · 28/03/2011 17:31

Cycle I had to query my pay this month as it was about £100 less than it shoudl be. The reason was they can only pay maternity pay in weeks completed by pay day, so I had 2 weeks mat pay, when I would normally have had 3 weeks salary as we are paid per calendar month. They assured me it will sort itself out next month. I'm not holding my breath though! They are a bunch of useless articles!! Would this explain your issue?

Cyclebump · 28/03/2011 17:38

Possibly Lis. I just wish they'd reply to my messages to tell me what's going on, or, better yet, had explained it in the first place! A quarter of my pay is a lot to be missing and I'm a bit stressed about it.

Sigh.

JoEW · 28/03/2011 17:39

hello all and congratulations to stuffedmk, Poodle82, LJB, Aprilmeadow, andPetalouda!

How exciting, the babies are all coming. I've had to wait a month for you to catch up! I can't believe I've been off work for five weeks now, my ML was due to start this Friday, giving me a couple of weeks off to prepare for the arrival. Hahaha.

Conor is still in hospital and we've had an eventful week as he had a suspected infection in his bowel. He's back on track now and resumed feeding with an enthusiasm previously unseen. If you ever want to get your baby excited about feeding stick them on 'nil by mouth' for three days and then watch how good they get. Poor little mite, he behaves as though every feed might well be his last. He's such a cutie, I can't get enough of him.

I've got my first outing with other mums tomorrow, as four of us from the neonatal unit are going out for lunch. It's so exciting to do something that feels like proper maternity leave, even if we won't have our babies with us. I will soon be a lady what lunches. Officially.

One of the nurses told me that they had a 14lb baby delivered at Kingston a couple of days ago. FOURTEEN POUNDS. C-section, of course. Imagine even being pregnant with a whopper like that.

Good luck to all with babies to come. It's so exciting. Sorry not to do proper name checks but, my god, can you lot talk! I can barely keep up with the thread these days. It's a good job I'm not still at work, I'd never get anything done anyway.

LisMcA · 28/03/2011 17:43

I know! They are crap! I think it's a case of out of sight out of mind! I just harrass them by phone as I know they have a KPI to reply within 48 hours to reply to emails, in my opinion is far too long! Good luck!

LisMcA · 28/03/2011 17:46

FOURTEEN POUNDS

Oh my god!! The poor woman! Even if it was a CS.

Fourteen pounds

SnapFrakkleAndPop · 28/03/2011 17:47

14lb?! that's like 2 babies! Glad to hear your DS is doing well Jo and he sounds extremely cute!

Hope you get your pay sorted soon cycle. It's the last thing you want to be dealing with really...

Thanks for the hair mask tip on my other thread, Lis. There is far too much MNing going on here and I really want to make the most of the limited pampering time I have left :)

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 28/03/2011 17:57

Many congratulations Poodle and welcome Joshua Smile. Joshua has always been on our baby name list too!

Good to see you JoEW, and glad to hear that Connor is over the bowel infection. Enjoy your lunch tomorrow Smile

Your manager sounds a right knob Aussie, fgs don't common sense and discretion come into her vocab? Jeez.

I noticed Salted wasn't here a few days ago, I hope she's ok. Salted, SALTED. Where are you?

Good news about the scan Archi.

The shopping trip was part successful, part not. 2 sets of new bedding have been purchased at a horrendous price Blush, however I don't have any new nursing bra's. Debenhams online have a great selection, however my local store don't stock ANY nursing bra's. How very bloody dare they! I complained to their manager, his answer was 'we don't stock nursing bra's because we stock mastectomy bra's.' I gave a look like this Confused. Apparantly they only stock one or the other. I gave up at this point and walked off muttering under my breath!

The bra's in M&S were shocking and I know that the ones from Mothercare just aren't for me because they don't fit very well. However new post partum draws were purchased from M&S, but baby brain must have taken over as when I got home and took them out of their packets I realised I had bought all pastel shades. I think I'll be waiting for the initial blood loss to calm down before I start using them!!! What a plonker ............... and this is my 3rd time doing this Blush

LisMcA · 28/03/2011 18:02

Salted has just posted on the stats thread so she is ok! But not had her baby from what I can tell! I'm no Miss Marple!

JustKeepSwimming · 28/03/2011 18:04

Poodle - Congratulations!! Grin

Hope Ali is getting on ok.

Arch - very pleased to hear you have a scan booked, totally ridiculous faff to go through but hopefully baby will be head down after all this.

Anyone else got any twinges? Nothing from me, yet. Waiting for next week ideally so no school runs to worry about.

SarahJinx · 28/03/2011 18:09

Hey all!

Blimey, it's all been going on hasn't it, it's going to be like this now for the next four weeks, how exciting! Huge congrats to you all, LBJ - are you Mrs Beckham...! Congrats on your little lady arriving on the launge floor! Petal really really intrigued to know about this procedure but again, congrats and what a gorgeous name! Same to you April and poodle with Finn and Joshua, lovely and both also on my list!!

I've had an eventful day - though compared with hubby arriving in the garden in a Helicopter no so much - 36 week check, have been officially diagnosed with SPD after 2 weeks of hell and now barely being able to walk -physio and codiene and keeping legs together at all times advised. Also, CMW decided that Bean was an upside down Oblique (Head under left ribs, feet diagonally bottom right) and sent me for a presentation scan this arvo. This baby of mine is super wriggly, not in a small hands and feet way but in big old violent waves, and has been rolling about all day. By the time Hospital MW had examined me, either there'd been a huge shift to bum up head down or my usual MW had got it totally wrong, the scan then confirmed that all is pretty much as it should be and the scanner lady was quite huffy about just how wrong my MW had got it....

Its odd though, I've thought it was all diagonal too, shows I'm as clueless as ever

x

SarahJinx · 28/03/2011 18:10

Ooh, PS Hi Joe lovely to hear Conor is doing so well

JustKeepSwimming · 28/03/2011 18:13

Jo - also wanted to say, thanks for the update, glad he's doing well again now.
Hope you & Gormers don't think you're forgotten about on here, I often wonder how your LOs are doing.

JenAT · 28/03/2011 18:27

Jo good to hear from you, glad Connor has got over his bowel infection and is feeding well.

Poodle congratulations on the arrival of baby Joshua. Wow the babies are arriving left, right and centre. Wonder which day in April will have the most babies born?

SaltedPretzels · 28/03/2011 18:42

OMG 14lbs what did she have apart from alot of stretch marks.....a rhino?!

LisMcA Glad to hear your FIL didn't have an attack (I hope I didn't read an early message and get that wrong)! I was thinking about your family whilst in the hospital and hoping everything was ok for all of you. x Smile

Just been in for monitoring after the killer yoda ball incident, I was ok for a day or two then I started puking a lot, bad headaches and blurred vision. My bp was way up so they decided to make me sit bored in a ward for days on end and more or less numb my brain and reduce the bp. It worked, no mumsnet, DH (doing the right thing, he says!) took my phone with him and left me with nothing more than a crossword and some toffees.

I do feel lots better for the rest though and when I can home DH had done a wonderful job of the housework including ironing and has re-arranged my hair and massage appointments (without any prompting)!

I can't believe how much you all chat I mean page 13 and I didn't even know we had a new thread!!! Grin

I missed all the banter and lol coc pops ha ha!

Babies all the shiny new babies, not as many as I thought there would be but well done to all the new mums and your ickle bundles of love xxxx

Doubtful I'll have chance to fully catch up but I'll skim through from my last post in the next day or so and see what you've al been getting up to.

Anyone started on the raspberry leaf tea yet?

Cycle nice try with Fortnum's and Liberty's ha ha.

Well I'm very tired, it's early nights in hospital so it's already time to get ready for bed Hmm

Catch up soon and hope everyone is doing well and anyone labouring tonight good luck I hope you have the births you all want xx

NotAnotherNewNappy · 28/03/2011 19:06

Poodle Congratulations on your new little boy - lovely name too.

Aussie Your boss is a tit.

Forget shopping, cooking and writing today, I decided to just sleep for 3 hours this afternoon instead Blush

LisMcA · 28/03/2011 19:09

Salted We've been worried!! Glad all is ok though!

I've started on the Raspberry Leaf Capsules, not liking the tea very much! Not sure if it's doing anything tho. I also have clary sage oil in a infuser, but DH doesn't like the smell very much!

Cyclebump · 28/03/2011 19:32

I quite like the tea!

Lunch tomorrow sounds lovely Jo, a fabulous idea to normalise things I reckon. I was in hospital loads when I was little (to fix dodgy hips) and mum says it was really important to keep doing normal 'mum' things.

Glad to hear you're ok Salted, careful with them yoga balls girls!

Liv77 · 28/03/2011 21:06

Congratulations Poodle and Petal Grin Grin

Arch Glad they've finally pulled their fingers out of their arses and agreed to give you a presentation scan.

Nann Hope all goes well with the book, keep us updated on its progress and when we can get a copy (i'll get my library to order a copy too) Smile

Joew I'm so pleased to hear that Conor is feeding well, enjoy your lunch tomorrow too.

Aussie Your boss sounds like a complete bitch, Angry rest assured that if you believe in karma, all the April ladies are sending her the evils on your behalf. I posted a link to the GBS Support website earlier up, i'll repeat it here it pretty much answers any questions you may have on GBS.

I saw my consultant again today and unfortunately the fluid levels around the baby have dropped again Sad so he has booked me in for an induction on 4th April when I will be term+2. Until then I have to go to the maternity unit for daily checks. I don't mind the checks and find it quite reassuring going and listening to baby everyday. It also means I'm guaranteed a chance to put my feet up while my mum or the in-laws look after DS. I was up there for 2 hours today and went prepared with my packed lunch and the nice midwife even provided me with a lovely Brew. So far the FHR results have been normal Smile. DS arrived naturally at term+2 so fingers crossed I won't need the induction. All going well this time next week I could be holding my baby.
