Raspberry leaf Brew and Biscuit all round.

Continuation from here. No Mofo C bombs yet been dropped in the delivery room although our first 2 babies have arrived. Congrats to gormers and Jo, we hope your little ones are still doing great.

Many congratulations Pet Smile Give baby Felix (fab name btw) a big kiss from me, oh, and give his head a sniff from me too .

Sounds like you may have had a tough time, hope you're being well looked after xxx

JustKeepSwimming · 28/03/2011 09:04

Arch - just read your post, it's really not on that they are dithering about a presentation scan Angry honestly it would take all of 5 mins (of their time, prob more of yours hanging about) just to check.
Having had an undiagnosed breech & getting a requested (& possibly entirely unnecessary) presentation scan this time round, it's definitely better to know.

Can you ring anyone else? GP just for ideas of who else to ring? it seems totally insane to me & i'm very Angry on your behalf.

SnapFrakkleAndPop · 28/03/2011 09:26

Eeeee congratulations petal! Cuddles and kisses to Felix from me too. Have been thinking of you lots all night. Sorry it didn't quite go to plan but the important things is 'you have a baby!

Cycle bugger on the power cut. No Internet, how did you cope?!

ILTMI enjoy your shopping trip :)

JKS bath and bed... Sadly I still have stuff to do for work despite not teaching any more :( but I can set my own pace at least!

Another morning, another new baby! Congratulations Petal
sorry to hear it didn't all go to plan. Hope you are ok and recovering with your lovely new baby to cuddle. V impressed by you posting only a few hours after giving birth! Felix is a lovely name (one of my best friends named her baby Felix)

I have dd to entertain all day today as she doesn't go to nursery on Mondays. She has already dressed herself in an upsy daisy skirt, sandals (one pink, one white both are on wrong feet), a sunhat, vest and gloves, a charlie and lola backpack filled with playfood, and sunglasses. Apparently she is off to the beach for a picnic with her imaginary friends. unfortunately she is going somewhere far less exciting in reality .... the supermarket with me. Going to be fun persuading her to actually put some proper clothing on before we go out. She has also tried to make the poor cat wear a hat and is telling her off as she won't play with her. Right off to survey the trail of destruction she has left through the house! Have a good day everyone.

Arch sorry to hear about your problems getting a presentation scan. i hope you get things sorted.

BeetleBaby · 28/03/2011 09:30

Congratulations Petal and welcome Felix! Hope you're resting and Felix is settling in well (and now we've all learnt that green snot from down below can be a show Wink ).

I've been up and around since about 4.30am...feels like it should be the middle of the day not 9am, i'm patently going to crash by 11am.

arch I hope you manage to persuade the MW to get you a presentation scan, at least then you'll know exactly what's happening. Surely (HB or not) they'd want to know if baby is breech in advance, or am I showing my naive first timer knowledge here?

Frakk yay for one night down! I hope you're taking advantage of having the bed all to yourself each night with plenty of room to roll over! Grin

Cycle I'm glad you and DH found a way to 'entertain' yourselves during the power cut Wink. After months of having a minimal interest in such areas my DH is a little shocked (and rather pleased I hope!) that the last couple of weeks I seem to be, ahem, instigating things much more regularly again Blush, don't know what prompted that drive to return but I will admit I missed it! The added activity doesn't seem to be having any impact helping baby along here either!

ILTMI you're not alone on buying bedding, I got two new sets last week which will be washed through ready to use today. Strangely, I hate changing the beds though!

caramellokoalalover · 28/03/2011 09:31

Wow, pages to catch up on but big congrats to Petal - great name btw, that's my DS's name Grin. Hope you're all doing well. Ali good luck for today!

Can't wait to come back later and find more news of babies arriving!

BeetleBaby · 28/03/2011 09:33

Jen just had to say your DD outfit sounds adorable!

JenAT · 28/03/2011 09:33

Liv thanks for link to group b strep support page. Tons of info on there. Much appreciated.

kitstwins · 28/03/2011 10:29

Congratulations Petal - sorry to hear it didn't go to plan but hopefully you're getting some rest with your gorgeous new baby. Love the name.

Arch I can't understand why they're dithering about a presentation scan. It's surely a no-brainer. Hopefully the midwife tomorrow will see sense and book you in for one.

Liv it's okay - I think I was just feeling very sensitive and tearful about it all yesterday. I know you were offering good advice. I'm still a bit fed up about it all really - feels as if my VBAC is falling away further from me all the time, in spite of all I do. I've just got to stay strong though and not give up (sigh!). Here's hoping, as you say, that we both have great experiences this time around.

Epi-no update - got up to 8cm last night which was a bit like giving birth. I'm not sure if I'll hit this peak again or get any further but it feels close enough. I'll be glad when this is all over...

Wonder who the next baby will be. Actually, scrap that, it's Alibaba isn't it? Hope today goes really well Ali and looking forward to hearing the update.

LisMcA · 28/03/2011 10:52

Aw Petal congratulations!! Did the yoda ball bounce him out??

Good Luck Ali you're probably already at the hospital, I was a lazy bones this morning!

Frak I recommend you taking advantage of the bed all to youself! I am taking full advantage of my king size while DH is in the spare room.

Arch Any doubt on baby head down or not you get a presentation scan here. If you get nowhere with the MW, get a contact number for the supervisor of midwives. Call her and tell her your concerns. She should be able to sort it out for you.

Kits My eyes water everytime you mention your epi-no! :)

Cleaning the house has taken a back seat here over the last few weeks. But my super mum is coming down at the weekend to blitz it all for me. She is a bit of a Monica, a gene that has skipped a generation here, maybe the baby will get it, so the house will be the cleanest it has ever been! She'll probably be back when my dad comes down to fix the kitchen in a few weeks too! I love my mum!!

Cycle Ahem, DH and I resumed "relations" too! Very awkward with huge bump and SPD! But we made it! :o he was whistling through the day and everything!!! I've also had sickness first thing, but I think it's because my stomach is empty. Might try taking snacks to bed with me! Any excuse to eat, me!!

Anyhoo! I'm off to brave Ikea on my own! [brave emoticon]. Sainsburys have a baby event on so will have a mooch round there to and treat myself to coffee and a cake! Wish me luck!!

architien · 28/03/2011 11:07

Pet really happy to hear that you are both safe and happy :)

MW has just left. She more edging towards thinking breech and has made me an appointment on Wednesday afternoon for a presentation scan, so we will finally know for sure then. In the meantime she has given me the direct number to the OB labour ward with instructions that if I think anything is happy, even small and unsure, to get myself straight there.

So Frak that'll be the both of us with everything crossed for the next few days.

I need to relax so I'm going to book myself a very rare massage, enough of this worry say I!

LisMcA · 28/03/2011 11:11

Great to hear you are getting somewhere Arch. No one is entirely sure ifyou are breech or not, so you might not be! Wait and see what Wednesday brings!

Enjoy your massage!!

architien · 28/03/2011 11:16

I've just read that back and realised I meant "happening" not "happy". Well I hope that's a good sign in terms of how my subconscious is dealing with this uncertainty :)

Goodness I need sleep!

MrsWajs · 28/03/2011 11:17

Congratulations Petalouda & Aprilmeadow and welcome to the world babies Finn and Felix!! Can't believe I've missed less than 24 hours and there are 2 babies!!

Had my baby shower yesterday which was fab, my mums house was all decked out in pink balloons and streamers etc, sure people in the street will be thinking I've actually had the baby!! Got completely spoilt by all my lovely friends and DP's sisters got me a dummy charm for my Links bracelet!! Just wish baby would hurry up now, but still officialy 4 weeks til EDD. Have MW appt this avo so will see how that goes, hopefully no more nasty surprises as DP left this morning for work until Friday - hating it already!

architien · 28/03/2011 11:23

Thanks Lis I drove right past the very same Ikea on Saturday after seeing the private midwife in Edinburgh I wanted to go in and get some new bedding (they do some lovely heavy-weight stuff sometimes) but I just couldn't face it with Fraser in tow and the spd and bump combination. Have a really lovely time and treat yourself to some cake or flowers too :D

Thaney · 28/03/2011 11:54

Congratulations Petal!

I have people downstairs laying a new wooden floor and I just heard one of them say "the baby will be one before we've got this floor down" Hmm

AussieMum2Be · 28/03/2011 12:28

Woooohhhh, 4 babies since i was last on MN Friday lunch, I know i said i wanted to see some babies over next few days, but thats amazing !!!

4 Babies, ive already told my DP, my mum and everyone at work, its so exciting, and although i slept horrible all weekend that has just put me into such a great mood !!

Super Huge Congratulations to Stuffed and little baby Thomas, LJB and your little girl, April and the gorgeously named Finn and finally Petal with the lovely Felix !!

Im still gob-smacked, 4 babies !! And Ali should be having hers today, Congrats for your new arrival Ali that will be 5 babies by end of day, unless anyone else out there is getting any baby coming feelings ??

Well I survived the 1 night of DP away on Saturday which I feel really bad about getting upset about, when I see others who have whole weeks of their DP being away !! Good Luck Ladies and enjoy the whole bed, only Bonus !

I dont know if it was cause DP was away or just cause ive only got 2 weeks to go but I woke up at 5am and couldnt get back to sleep (4am really cause of day-light savings) so got up and watched tv and last night woke at 2am and lied awake and with a funny feeling in my tummy for a couple of hours but stayed trying to get back to sleep cause had work this morning ! did doze off but kept waking up uncomfortable, kept drifting into my head, babys coming !!! but no, no signs of babys arrival.

Kits Cant believe you got to 8cm !! Im in awe !! I was feeling like I had expanded way more then usual last night and it was really uncomfy only to measure up at 6cm, I was sure i had to be at least 7cm, but at least I know 8cm is a real possibility, ill keep on going. 7cm here I come !!

Now you guys have kinda freaked me out on the Strep B !! I was diagnosed positive at my 12 week scan, didnt ask for it, they just checked for it automatically and i was just told it means i have to have a drip of anti-biotics once i start contractions or waters break and they have put yellow stickers all over my maternity book that say "GBS" but i didnt think it was going to be a big deal, is it painful or something, I read of risk to baby if i dont have the anti-biotics, but is there a main reason to consider not having it, I really hadnt thought twice about it and now feel a little panicked !

Any advise welcome please from anyone who's got GBS and had this drip.

Well, huge mega post from me as usual, hope to see more babies, Im going to have to keep a better eye on MN as these babies seem to be popping up every half day !!!

SnapFrakkleAndPop · 28/03/2011 12:46

Thaney that's not good

Aussie I know what you mean - every twinge/funny feeling makes me think 'shit! baby's coming' and I'm really not sleeping well. Don't worry about the GBS - it's a very manageable risk and only 1 intervention, but if you're facing mutliple interventions/a highly medicalised birth anyway or have a history of not doing too well on IV/with a cannula inserted that's when you might worry. I had to fight not to have an IV as standard and I'm worried that the contraindication is going to mean being permanently hooked up to an IV, which will mean continuous monitoring, which will mean being kept on the bed, which will mean not being able to move around and have a free/active birth, which would be no good for my mental state as well as all the potential physical complications. But most places aren't as trigger happy as here so the chances are you'll just be IVed up and that'll be the end of it because they can distinguish the between the GBS and treatment and everything else!

Liv I was wondering why DD couldn?t seem to shift her runny nose Blush

Arch ? Bless you, you sound like you?re really going through it at the moment. Any chance of getting a professional in for a few hours to blitz the place? It is crazy that you have not been offered a presentation scan, turn on the waterworks and scream at MW.

Petal- Wowzer! Congratulations on ?little? Felix Grin Hope you?re recovering well.

Jen Lol at your DD, she sounds like such a sweetie.

DH biked my proofed manuscript over to the agent last night and my mum has taken DD1 out for lunch. Ergo, this is the first day I have had absolutely nothing to do and I am soo bored. I might have to nip out and get ingredients to make veggie chilli or start writing a new novel. Not sure if either option is viable really as my freezer is already jam packed with dinners and my head feels like it?s full of cotton wool.

DD1 had an accident in the hallway this morning. I opened the door to my mum while standing in a giant puddle of wee with a mop and bucket in my hand - she got all excited that my waters had broken, no such luck!

Poodle82 · 28/03/2011 14:53

Hello all!

Congratulations to all the new mums. Can't believe how quickly the babies have started arriving now.

I've also had my little boy - Joshua - 7lbs 8oz.
He was born on Thursday 24th by planned c-section due to being footling breech. Everything went to plan and we were home after 48 hours. We're both very well - although I'm still on the painkillers from the hospital. He's feeding ok so far just not got the idea that night times are for sleeping yet!

LisMcA · 28/03/2011 14:55

I'm back! Survived Ikea, but didn't make it to Sainburys, so no cake! I did however have meatballs at Ikea! I forgot there was a Dunelm Mill there too, so I now have curtains for the nursery! Yay!!

Arch I forgot you were up my way!

Was just lurking on the stats thread and Poodle82 has added herself to the ARRIVED List. Poodle82; 28, DC1, Joshua, 24/03 (39+0), 7lbs8 Congratualtions Poodle!!

We now have 7 babies, 6 boys, 1 girl and one more pending before the end of the day!!Woo Hoo!!

LisMcA · 28/03/2011 14:56

X-Post Poodle!! Welcome to the world Joshua!

LisMcA · 28/03/2011 14:58

Sorry, can't count! 5 boys 2 girls!

SnapFrakkleAndPop · 28/03/2011 15:00

Gosh! Another baby! Congratulations poodle and welcome cuddles for baby Joshua Grin

We're very boy heavy, aren't we?! Do we have some girls coming to even things up a bit?

It must be a weight off your mind to have the manuscript done and dusted notanother. I'm still mightly impressed by you finishing a whole book and can't wait to read it. I think you said it was Sophia Kinsella-esque, in which case I'll definitely be up for it. Just make sure there's a Kindle edition please Wink

Babies everywhere! Am back from shopping in London with my mum. We were hoping my waters would go in Fortnum's or Liberty and I'd get some free stuff but nothing, sigh!

At least vie got some pineapple to snack on given that, ahem, intimate relations didn't help.
