Oh Hubbard, you are having a bad day! I hope it gets better for you.
I think the heat is getting to all the babies. Noah hasn't been too bad today,he's not slept much so is on me now napping. I've been looking at his little face while he sleeps and it's shocked me how much he's changed. He looks like a proper little boy now!

tadjennyp · 21/04/2011 19:03

Hubbard, sorry you are having a bad day. Hope the weather is making up for it. Sorry about your job ponyo. Wishing you much better times jane.

Haven't had time to catch up on the whole thread but wishing you all a very Happy Easter and lots of sleeping babies!

ILovePonyo · 21/04/2011 19:16

Aah hubbard, poor little Freya in her harness, this heat is a bit too much isn't it. We're lucky that our lounge is quite cool, ventured out for abit today but not too long.

Dd just woke up from a sleep crying - real shouty crying like she'd had a bad dream poor thing! Was quite cute and must admit a bit funny, I couldn't help laughing a bit while shushing her Grin Blush

She's shouting now, must be hungry :)

janedoe25 · 21/04/2011 20:36

Poor Freya, hope she feels better and lets you rest hubbard!
Hope all you ladies and babies have a FAB weekend. Grin

slowangels1 · 21/04/2011 21:20

:( to hubbard . Another baby going mental in the heat here - she's been screaming most of her waking hours the past 2 days and not feeding very well. It's shattering.

Grin to 40 with her wills and kate mug.

she's finally sleeping and so's the ds so i'm gonna have me a magners, a magnum and the new harry potter dvd if i can stay awake [bugrin]

ILovePonyo · 21/04/2011 21:53

oh no angels, hope things get better for you over the next few days. Its weird to think how bloody cold it was when the lo's were born and how hot it is now, only 9 wks later!

jane hope you have a lovely weekend too and aren't dreading work too much next week. I really felt for you when you said you were back at the beginning with the grief, it must be a few steps forward then a couple back at the moment, am sending you big hugs.

Hope you're enjoying your evening now hubbard [bugrin]

I took a risk and put dd down to sleep all swaddled at 8.30, a whole hour earlier than normal, she seemed tired anyway so thought I'd risk it. Heres hoping it doesn't backfire...!

JustOneMorePlease · 22/04/2011 10:26

Hi everyone! Haven't been on much due to having the boys at home for Easter. Four at home is very time consuming as you can imagine. What great weather we are having.

We've had some lovely days out with friends, takes some planning. We all went to Flamingo Land yesterday which the kids loved.

Archie is a little poppet. He is a colicy one, very like ds2.

Isn't the time whizzing by!?

Glad everyone is coping with the joys of newborns! Enjoy the Easter weekend. Xx

janedoe25 · 22/04/2011 10:32

Thanks ponyo it has been one hell of a week with a lot to take in. Feeling a bit brighter today though [busmile] loving the Easter smilies [bugrin].
I hope dd slept well last night.

Angles and Hubbard i hope A and F are coping a bit better with the heat, poor little mites.

Right im off for the day delivering easter eggs to neices and nephews [bugrin]

ledkr · 22/04/2011 13:24

Hi honies im home!!
Sorry to hear your,re having a bad time Jane, you wouldnt be normal if you werent like that tho,i think its all part of the process but it must be awfull for you to miss her so and be powerless to do anything.I still cry when i think of you and Zoe so cant imagine how it is for you xx

D seems ok in the heat so far my dcs love the heat like me but dh doesnt and dd is ginger Shock

Ponyo yep a sw,people do prefer adoption cos its thought to be easier.
I am not normal and did enjoy all the excitment and unpredictability of cp and also maikng a difference, its not all removing kids i love working with parents to make improvments so they can all stay together.I hate adoption its sooooooo boring.

We decided to leave at 10.30 last night as we didnt fancy the m25 on good friday tbh. It was such a long drive home the girls slept but i couldnt as i was worried dh would nod off,id been awake since 6am.Dh took D and we got in at 2am and she slept until 7am,mne and Els ril 10 so we will have another early night.

Im with all of you on the unpredictable nights,D doesnt go back to sleep after her first feed so if thats at 5 im screwed.

Her first holiday was ok but she was hard work, she has got into a habit of feeding to sleep which is such a pain, she falls asleep sucking but then wakes up when you take it out, over and over, wont take a dummy and sometimes stil wants to suck when shes still full, anyone else having this?Any suggestions.

wiggles you nust be very worried at the moment about dh,poor you.I dont worry much about J now cos hes in cells, but he was assaulted whilst on the beat a while back and it really upset me.

Am really determined to shift this weight now going to do ww online and start gym again but concentrate on cardio. We have a wedding in June and at the mo i wouldnt go as would feel too self concious, not going to start until after hols with all the bbqs and chocolate.

Managed to get thru the entire week without pils visiting us on holiday,id like to think they got the message but prob not.Should be ok for next weekend cos we are going out on the sat.

slowangels1 · 22/04/2011 14:16

Grin at ledkrs PIL free hol. Alice wakes up to suck/needs something to suck to sleep too - not always but quite often. We only give her the dummy if she really looks like she needs it and she is trying to suck her fingers/thumb/hand/top of babygro/blanket. I try and take the dummy out after she's asleep - sometimes she wakes up straight away for it, sometimes she doesn't and she also will wake up and cry for it. Not really sure of best tactic I'm afraid.

jane hopefully next week will be better, and, at least it's a short one (and think of all the wedding ideas you might be able to pinch if you watch the royal wedding)

Alices odd behaviour has now spread to her poos Shock. she usually has dirty nappies all the time but has had no poo since yesterday afternoon Confused Hmm Shock . Just had the biggest code brown ever where in the space of ten minutes she made up for lost time and it was just too much for the nappy to take - it went everywhere. So glad I wasn't out and about to have to deal with that mess Wink touch wood alice being a bit better today so have actually managed some cleaning and FINALLY some polishing too (couldn't polish throughout pg due to hating the wiff of brasso so was getting pretty desperate).

Bought DH tons of ice creams yesterday so he was a happy bunny. It's so hard to resist though as they are calling to me .

ledkr · 22/04/2011 15:48

angels im with you re the belly,im wearing a sun dress today and my bellys huge and wobbly, feel ashamed of it Blush

wigglesrock · 22/04/2011 16:23

[busmile] Afternoon all, haven't been on for a day or so, Mr W was off for a few days so was cracking the whip not literally of course (save your smutty thoughts please), getting the garden organised, trying to get the girls to sort out their toys etc and the place is lovely for all of us to sit in/ play outside and it has just started to feckin' rain [bugrin] and yes that is thunder I hear.

Had a really busy couple of days, dd1 only finished school yesterday so still doing school runs, trying to replace eaten lost Easter eggs!!!

Sorry some of the babies are getting uncomfy in the heat, A seems fine but we haven't been as hot.

Glad you managed a pil free holiday Ledkr. I go through stages of mad worry with Mr W, he's on response so it can be a bit hairy but most of all I'm worried about the dds getting caught in something if our house was targeted. We are very careful, private, no-one would know what he does for a living etc but hopefully things will get a bit better. They are certainly better than when I was growing up [busmile]

Dds 1&2 are having a sleepover with my mum and dad tonight, Mr W is on nights so A and I are going to put our jammies on, crack open an Easter egg and I'm going to introduce A to one of mummys inappropriate boy crushes, Joshua Jackson (we're watching Fringe Season2 on DVD all night [bugrin])

ledkr · 22/04/2011 17:00

wiggles,i bet you could tell a few tales yes. When i was first dating dh we went for a meal and some big fat girl he,d arrested was shouting abuse at me,she obviously didnt know me cos whist dh sat there fretting i marched over and told her to shut the fuckity fuck up-he dosnt really worry about me now Grin
i just had some egg too yum. its really hot here,we took d ot in her buggy for a change, she loved it,it has a big pull over sunscreen,i must have know she would be a carrot top haha.

All you with hot fussers,i just stripped d off and lay her in the shade naked, she loved it.

wigglesrock · 22/04/2011 17:39

Yup second Ledkr and the stripping [buwink], dd1 was a summer baby and I was up in my mums and she was just fretting and fretting, you know that kind of crying that goes on for what seems like hours and nothing would help her and my mum just took her, stripped her and lay her down on a mat. Of course at the time I was [buangry] that she deemed to know what was best for my pfb but guess what mum knew best and it has worked for each of mine when they get vvvv cranky. Even when its freezing I strip them, stick the heating on and let them kick about!!

A has now spent the last 20 mins trying to take her sock off by rubbing her feet on her chair, she's about 2 moves away from getting it off and I swear I can see a triumphant grin on her face.

janedoe25 · 22/04/2011 17:51

Oi ledkr nothing wrong with be ginger, i resembled orphan annie when i was younger ginger curly hair with squillions of freckles! Thank god i grew out of that look. Zoe was born with loads of blonde fluffy hair with a ginger tinge to it [bungrin]. Glad you managed to have a pil free holiday, bet that was no mean feat!

wiggles and ledkr i would be a nervous wreck if my DF was in the same profession as your men! It must be more nerve wracking for you wiggles.

janedoe25 · 22/04/2011 17:53

Grin at A fighting with her socks!

ledkr · 22/04/2011 18:11

jane-D.s hair was like Zoes, blonde and fluffy.I have always joked about having a ginger baby saying id die it etc Grin mil gave me a filfthy look when said it,she probably prayed for it haha.I jest honestly i love all of her.I will post a picture of her and ELLA they are total contrast, els very dark and d is bluey white haha. I strip d if we want to eat,it buys me about 20mins,we call it naked time.
I dont worry about dh in his current role,i often ask if he has injured himself on a pen or got a paper cut.It has been so lovely to be home and have dh here on a bh,im normally alone Sad I paid my dil to clean my house while away,i cannot describe how relaxed i feel, going to get her to do it monthly.

MizK · 22/04/2011 18:22

Hi easter bunnies! Been soaking up the sun with DCs all week so only just caught up with thread. I too have been stripping down baby, she lies in the shade nude whilst I lie in the sun mercifully more clothed!
For those of us with tummy size issues, I have found the answer. I've been living in maxi dresses all week - they make your boobs look good and skim floatily over the flab below! Plus they are perfect for the 70s trend yay!
Hope you have all had good sunny fun today. ledkr glad you esccaped PILs on hols - they sound so utterly clueless that I almost love them! Some people are just special!
ponyo I too was a bit disappointed by city hosp - I begged for an epidural or even pethidine but was flatly refused plus they couldn't wait to get rid of us! Sorry to hear about your job, hope you find something else soon.

janedoe25 · 22/04/2011 18:41

ledkr Envy at you getting your house cleaned! Ahh poor D and her bluey white skin tone, that is so me! I have to be super careful in the sun, i burn even when it's cloudy and i live in Glasgow we all kno wits not known for its sunny weather!

I will put a pic of Zoe on profile page if anyone wants to see her, i will not be offended if you dont want to look.x

Bensmum76 · 22/04/2011 19:58

Jane, I just had a look at your pic of Zoe on your profile page, she really is a beauty, must admit it did bring a tear to my eye.
Dh has gluey White skin bland luckily Ben has my darker skin tone and it looks as though Noah will too! My in laws all smother themselves in suncream as soon as the sun comes out, I, on the other hand like to sizzle!
We've had fab weather but had a random rain shower earlier. I rushed outside and got all my washing in then it stopped raining!
Ledkr, we also have naked time with Noah for about 15 mins before his bath, I have never seen a baby wee so much. He must wee 4/5 times in that short space of time!
Wiggles, loving A trying to get her socks off. Noah has been obsessed with getting his right hand to his mouth and licking it, for the last few days, I'm such a proud mummy when he makes it!
Ladies, I too have jelly belly despite being almost at my pre pregnancy weight. Keep meaning to start running again but have managed to make excuses every time!
Hope you all had a good Good Friday!

wigglesrock · 22/04/2011 20:49

Jane beautiful picture of a beautiful girl xxx

ILovePonyo · 22/04/2011 21:41

Aah jane that pic of Zoe is so beautiful, thank you for sharing it, she looks so cute.

Dp is mixed race so I'm hoping dd has skin like him (tans easily) rather than mine (goes pink) Grin I think she has been a bit grumpier today in the warm weather though, she will be having some naked time tomo deffo :)

MizK I had a (very quick) labour and told the midwife about 3 times I needed pain relief, she kept saying she'd do the paperwork for paracetemol in a minute Hmm so I ended up having no pain relief even tho I asked for it. I know it could have been a lot worse, esp with people who've ended up having EMCS but I still feel a bit pissed off about my time at city hosp tbh. As you can probably tell from this rant!
Will be on the hunt for maxi dresses soon :)

I have the IL's visiting this sunday so will report back on any random/annoying ness... Enjoy your weekend ladies xx

ledkr · 22/04/2011 22:56

ponyo,paracetamol???? are they mad?Thats just for a mild headache.imho.

Jane i love Zoes pic,its so nice you can share it with us,but so very sad she didnt get longer bless her,as i said before it makes me feel so sad i still cant believe it happened to one of us.

difficult at night with babies,d is swaddled in cotton light blanket but still looked pink cheeked.
I have had a lovely day with her just playing and cuddling.I was feeling the old familiar resentment but think it was hard being away from home for so long and on the beach tis hard with bottles etc, also at the pils i hardly saw her as she was being passed about so much i do think it interferes with bonds this early, think of a cat if you touch its kittens, they very often reject them.
Just remembered annoying mil thing,no matter what you say she brings it back to her kids eg.oh ds used to do that or dd slept all night by 4 hrs you know the stuff,i also thought i heard an argument with fil when D was screaming at 4.30,i heard her say"well thats the price you pay," in a hissy voice Hmm

MizK · 23/04/2011 10:52

jane the pic of zoe is v cute she looks perfect. Thanks for sharing with us.
ponyo think that's really bad, it feels like they refuse pain relief as they kind of expect you to get on with it, I think some of the mws at city seem dismissive of the pain and because they are so busy they want your birth to be easy for them rather than the mother. I actually asked mine to stop talking to me as she kept chirping that the baby coming out would be instant pain relief.... Honestly could happily have strangled her at the time!
Am v delicate today. Went out for tapas and sangria last night, then finished night off with a lethal caipirinha, seemed a good idea at the time. Cue Cassia waking all night cause she was too warm (despite having the fan aimed at her cot).... DP has gone to Liverpool to watch the footy so I have to somehow entertain 3 DCs and tidy the house, waaa! Obv am slacking right now cause can't face doing anything while Cass is napping!
Please tell me I'm not the only drunken lush of a mother, I feel a tad guilty!
