Hi all, ledkr what a scare for you, glad you;re all ok now. Ella sounds like such a star, not only in that post but when you've talked about her before too, you must be so proud of her.

I think I need to tone up more than lose weight, if anyone knows how I can do this without having to go to the gym or do any form of excerise at all that would be great Grin Btw my food diary today includes a creme egg, maccy d's milkshake and cheeseburger and crisps, enchiladas and chips. God I eat a lot of crap.

I think dd associates swaddling with going to sleep now which is great, however between 6pm and 10pm seems to be her "awake time" Confused She's currently wide awake and kicking on her play rug thing.

I've found some "app" type thing on my phone (not an iphone) which plays all sorts of sounds - rain, storm, heartbeat, so have put that next to her and I think its chilling her out a bit Hmm Wish I'd found it when she was tiny!

knitta funnily enough I;ve gone right off OBEM now I've had dd, was addicted before. I cried at every episode! Give it a go but if it makes you feel upset (rather than just crying at cute babies!) I'd leave it :)

dd is getting shouty now so better go Wink

slowangels1 · 05/04/2011 21:03

my supposed 'perfect' baby is currently only quiet being rocked it my arms with a dummy Hmm . i've got the baby whisperer book just must re-read it now i've got the baby Wink

really interesting looking ad for tv prog on bfing next week on bbc3 at 9pm just now (forgot the day - sorry).

oh - just put a couple of newer piccies of alice on my profile - she's changed so much already

wigglesrock · 05/04/2011 21:31

slowangels Alice is absolutely gorgeous, is it possible to feel broody when looking at other babies even if your own is only 7 weeks old Grin

Well Mr W managed to survive the baptism meeting without bursting into flames, kept well clear of the holy water just in case though!!! Thought I was going to have to buy him sweeties on the way home as a reward, sometimes I'm not sure how many children I have Hmm. Have settled date for baptism as 1st May, everyone off work the next day for May Day, so shouldn't be a big hassle getting girls into school etc, well what I really mean is that my relatives won't feel the need to hold back on the old wine consumption!!

debka · 06/04/2011 06:42

angels she's lovely!!

slowangels1 · 06/04/2011 07:18

thank you Grin

quick q - how noisy are your LOs at night when they sleep?Alice had been sleeping relatively quietly but for the past 5 nights she's been really restless and fretful - wiggling about alot and making lots of noise. Right now she keeps sounding like she's building up for a cry for a minute or so then stops - bythe time I go over to her to check what's going on she's lying still and sleeping as if nothing had happened. It's hard to relax as you never know whether she's waking up or not! It's coincided with when we moved her into the cot at night so not sure if that has anything to do with it Hmm . How much noise do your LOs make when sleeping? we arn't sure if this is 'normal' noise that won't quieten down or if it's a phase and she'll go back to sleeping nice and soundly .

enjoy the sun today everyone Grin

debka · 06/04/2011 07:30

Ah now that's why S is in her own room! I hear her cry but that's it (so long as I have the duvet over my head).

Bensmum76 · 06/04/2011 08:37

Yes, dh and I take it in turns sleeping in the same room as Noah as he is a noisy sleeper too, especially after his 4/5am feed! He's got a bad cold at the moment so is very snuffly! Drives ya mad!
Dh slept in with him last night but I still woke every hour, am so tired this morning that im spending the day at home and am going to sleep with Noah for his naps!

ledkr · 06/04/2011 09:12

how funny you are all talking SLEEP,am in bed about to try and sleep as D was a f'ing nightmare last night.Went down ok then was fussing and fidgeting at 2am so i peeped in and she was awake,i eventually got her up and changed her cos seemed wet,she continued to fus so i gave her a bottle from then on she was awake until 6am,it was like she had been drugged,dh "took over" about 4.30 but she still didnt settle till 6.I cant understand it cos nothing seemed wrong as such and she slept 10-8 the night before.
Ive just given dh the "didnt even want a baby schpeel, and now i feel guilty too Hmm
Im just really p'd off cos its my Mums birthday and i was meant to see her and also play my first netball match tonight and im probably going to be too tired Sad
I think we are going to have to split up at night tbh,cos i cant sleep thru her snuffles or dh getting up with her.
bensmum D is like that after her first feed of the day which is sometimes at 5-6ish.
debka its no coincidence that s is sleeping better than the others is it not? My others were all in own room by now too,im a bit precious about D cos of her problems but am starting to think she can go in there soon as the alternative maybe her going out the window at this rate Grin

Bensmum76 · 06/04/2011 11:57

Ledkr, I attempted to nap with Noah around the same time you were trying to rest. He lasted about 40 minutes before his blocked nose woke him up. He got in such a state. Luckily I've bought Baby Nose Clear and managed to suck sone of the nasty out! Yuk!
He's just taken a massive feed and I'm hoping to get out for a bit nice as the weather is so nice.
P.S. I go through the whole 'I never wanted a baby' thing at least every couple of days Ledkr. Lack of sleep and time to oneself is bound to make us feel crap sometimes

hubbard86 · 06/04/2011 16:50

got 5 mins finally to catch up. Freya has been in her harness now for nearly 2 weeks and i'm finally getting used to it. We had another ultrasound on her hips and the harness is working and there is already some change so we are very hopeful. I take her harness off for half hour every 3-4 days to give her a bath and have a skin to skin cuddle i'm not supposed to but i need to. She is 6wks tomorrow and a sleep monster we have had one night 11-6 but normally 9-3 3.30-7. I might be a bit tmi but has anyones af returned yet. I've woken up today feeling very crampy and achey. I can't remember when af restarted last time.

debka · 06/04/2011 17:52

hubbard glad to hear the harness is working. I heard they only need stay on for 6 weeks?? No sign of AF here- can't remember when it started last time but it was a good few months. I am bfing though.

Tell you what girls, the debka leave her and leg it method is working a treat. Hardly any crying and I am sooo much more relaxed and happy. Before I did it I'd decided NEVER to have another DC- now I've changed my mind. Not QUITE yet though!!

bensmum have you tried the nasal saline sprays for colds? It worked well on S when she was coldy last week.

Bensmum76 · 06/04/2011 18:04

Wow Debka. We've put Noah in his basket in hid cot last night and are aiming to put him in his cot over the next few nights. Once we've done that im going to try him in his cot for his morning sleeps. That way if he doesn't manage it I know he'll get a good nap later in the day.
Also thanks for nasal sprays tip, we now have the spray, the sucker and the room vapour! Fingers crossed they'll start working!

ILovePonyo · 06/04/2011 18:10

Hi all, hubbard that great news about the harness, hopefully it'll be doing its job and you won't need much more doing after?

angels dd is really loud, grunty and snuffly, she's quiet at first when we put her down asleep but towards the morning and especially after her feed she is so loud! I keep thinking she's going to cry but she doesn't Shock

Have ordered the baby whisperer :) Is anyone using it yet?

Bensmum76 · 06/04/2011 18:50

Hubbard, Im so pleased the harness is working, hopefully Freya won't have to wear it for too much longer. You've been very brave about it all.
It seems as though all our little ones are quite snuffly after their night feeds!!
I used the Baby Whisperer when Ben was a baby, and it is good and a lot less rigid than some other books, but if i were you I would read it then take the bits you like from it. With Noah I have remembered bits from all the many, many, many baby and childcare books I have read and am using bits I like and ignoring the bits I don't!!
My af has not returned yet but thats probably because I went back on the pill three weeks after having Noah, and haven't taken a break yet. I think I should have as I'm still getting a little bleeding every now and then.

hubbard86 · 06/04/2011 19:41

the doctor said they'll only leave her in it for 3 months before they'll look at other options debka only 11 weeks at most left. But i'm keeping everything crossed it comes off before then and i will be dancing a jig when it does.
Freya has a cold too and probably got it from her snotty big brother. It doesn't seem to affecting her too much though. Gotta run dh is cooking steak for tea yummy

wigglesrock · 06/04/2011 21:18

hubbard great news that Freya is progressing so well, fingers crossed the harness will come off before 12 weeks xx

My period hasn't returned yet, I don't think, had some bleeding about 3 weeks ago or so but didn't seem that sustained and disappeared very quickly Hmm. Although feel like absolute crap at the minute, have sore throat and neck and shoulders really achy, hopefully its just a bit of a cold made worse with being tired with Mr W being away so much this week. Looking after Anna is a doddle compared with dropping dd1 and dd2 at school/playgroup, picking them up, running around after them etc. Tonight was dd2 hairwashing night, Christ she hates it and we all have to know, if that child doesn't win an Oscar by the time she's 18 I'll eat one of Annas very cute hats Grin.

Dd2 got into our nursery school of choice this week, she starts in Sept so really pleased, 9.00am - 1.30pm every day, woo hoo, well momentarily forgot will still have Anna at home, was envisaging finally reading OK in peace scrubbing the inside of my kitchen cupboards Wink Although afraid of saying it out loud but the infamous non-sleeper (dd2) has slept right through for the past 3 nights, unheard of in this house and I'm not jumping up and down yet but never thought I'd say that I'm getting more sleep with a 7 week old in the house than I've had for the past 3.5 years!!!

Ps Apologies for the me, me, look at me post but I have added some more photos, Blush agree with Angels, they are changing so quickly.

ILovePonyo · 07/04/2011 08:52

Morning all, wiggles good news about the extra sleep for the last 3 nights, hope last night was a good one too!

I've put some more pics of dd up on my profile too if anyone wants a look :)

Hope everyone has a nice day in the sun.

ILovePonyo · 07/04/2011 12:48

Wanted to add earlier but forgot - last night gave dd a bath, she seemed quite content in the bath but as soon as we took her out and put her in a towel she screamed. And I mean screamed, it sounded like she hurt herself or something? Dp and I looked at each other like this Shock it really was some noise.
Dp reckons coming out of the bath could be a bit like being born, which makes sense I suppose. Anyone elses baby do anything like this? I think the only reason she sleeps after her bath is because she wears herself out with the screaming!

slowangels1 · 07/04/2011 13:35

have created a weight loss thread here www.mumsnet.com/Talk/big_slim_whatever_weight_loss_club/1189274-feb-fat-fighters-new-weight-loss-thread
if anyone wants to join. Hopefully it won't be me on my own on the thread Confused

ponyo and wiggles love the piccies Grin

thanks for sleeping comments - alice is still a noisy/restless sleeper at night but somehow manages to sleep realtively quietly in the day Hmm

ponyo we get screams when we take A out of the bath. Actually, also we get them when we wash her face too. She HATES being dried after a bath though - if anyone heard her scream they'd think we were torturing her Hmm . SHe also must be in such shock and confusion by the experience that she seems to manage to poo on the towel every time too Shock . HAven't had a poo in the bath yet though

Alice got excited looking at her cot mobile for the first time today - I put the music bit on and as it twirled she was giggling and cooing and grinning with such excitement :) Only thing was every time it finished she cried until I put it on again - I'm starting to wonder if they sell battery operated mobiles to save me rushing in and winding it up every couple of minutes Hmm

No period here but only 6 weeks pp and bfing.

wiggles are you feeling better today?

hubbard glad it seems to be helping.

OP posts:
debka · 07/04/2011 13:44

ponyo we get the post bath screams too! She loves it in there, despite her big sister doing her level best to drown her!!

angels that's sweet about the mobile and yes I'm pretty sure you can get battery operated ones too. About to check out the weight loss thread

wigglesrock · 07/04/2011 13:58

Ponyo beautiful pics - Anna has a whole load of Hungry Caterpillar tops /dresses Smile

Angels you can get remote controlled mobiles so you can stop/restart mobile without baby seeing you Wink Feel much worse today - am seeing Dr anyway this evening for postnatal check so am going to get them to have a nosy at my throat/glands. Throat so sore, realise I had a baby 7 weeks ago so how sore can throat really be Grin but am in absolute agony Sad Will deffo join weight loss thread.

Bensmum76 · 07/04/2011 14:29

Had a bad time with Noah last night. He's in his own room now and I thought we were going well when he went to bed ok. He went through until 3.30am which was fab and went back down at 4, by just before 5 he was crying so dh fed him a bit more. He then was crying again so dh brought him into sleep with me. His nose was so blocked that he kept falling asleep then waking himself up cos he couldn't breathe! It wasn't until 7 that I thought about propping him up on a pillow to help and it did! Lovely dh went into work late so I could sleep and i didn't get up til 11!
Am dreading tonight though! Don't know how much more I can manage it all. Am constantly on edge thinking about when Noah will eat and sleep, and really would like him to be able to nap in his cot and not on me! Am having a stressy day, sorry guys!

ILovePonyo · 07/04/2011 15:46

Was going to put "glad your lo's scream when taken out of the bath too" but realised that sounded a bit mean! angels you definitely would have thought we were torturing dd last night, such a racket! No poo on towels for us luckily Grin

I know I shouldn't compare but I was jealous of the smiling/cooing you described angels Blush Dd has only ever smiled in her sleep just after a bottle - its incredibly cute but thats the only time shes done it! Am also worrying about stimulating her enough/talking to her enough - I've got years to worry so know I shouldn't but its so easy to do Hmm

deb Grin at the elder sister drowning!

wiggles hungry caterpillar clothes are cute aren't they, I'm not a massive fan of pink but do like the coat :) Hope the post natal check is ok.

bensmum poor Noah with his blocked nose, hope you have a better night tonight. Don't have a ny great advice about feeling on edge but can sympathise, I work myself up about going out, eg what if shes hungry and starts crying and I'm not anywhere I can feed her, what if I need to change her and can't find anywhere, etc etc. Don't know if thats the same as you but just hope you start to feel less stressed eventually :)

slowangels1 · 07/04/2011 17:45

I don't know what has happened to my LO but she's barely slept all day Shock . She seems to be getting grown up and talking alot to me today (well, I mean making lots of noises Wink ) and is relatively content, just not sleeping. No idea why as she usually sleeps very well in the day. I'm hoping this might mean a massively long sleep all through the night (fingers crossed).

ponyo don't worry about not that much smiling/cooing - ALice is slowly doing it more and more every day but it's a gradual build up. I'm getting used to talking to myself alice all day about nothing but I do feel slightly odd doing it. Think it'll get to the point where I'm so used to it I talk to myself when she's not around Grin

bensmum hope noah gets better soon - must be so tiring/frustrating
