minnie - yes nursery has been ready for weeks. I've started washing all the baby clothes I've brought now and putting them in the drawers and wardbrobe ready. I have 17 more days in the office - I can't wait to finish!

MINNIE1 · 19/10/2005 14:16

sweetheart
Its all happening... Going to get some vest and Bgrows and little things this wkend.. (cant wait) To this day i still have nothing got not even a bib!!!! So i think its time i put my fear behind me and started getting ready..

ninah
Hi hun, how have things been going for you?

sweetheart · 19/10/2005 14:26

I've brought quite alot of stuff (even though I said I wouldn't) I've ended up buying clothes - which we didn't need, and have left items that we do need out.

Dh thinks we're done shopping but I still have a list of things we need before this baby arrives. Perhaps I'll have to sneek out when I'm on mat leave and put stuff away before he gets home

MINNIE1 · 19/10/2005 14:43

Stuff it up your jumper and tell dh your just getting bigger lol

Very true, ask him does he want to play pregnant with you.. You can stuff it up his jumper... lol

Have you any names picked?

sweetheart · 19/10/2005 15:08

yes we'll be having a Lucas. Good job too really as we couldn't agree on a girls name

How about you?

sweetheart · 19/10/2005 15:13

well my suspicions have just been confirmed. I've been very uncomfortable for the last couple of days - everything feels extra heavy and I've had quite alot of pains. I put it down the the baby moving down.

My colleague has just come into the office and without me saying anything said - wow hasn't your bump dropped.

It must be that don't you think - baby engageing a bit!

scully · 19/10/2005 15:18

I have 25 days left to work, less 3 half days due to appts......shouldn't wish my life away but......
Mind you, when I'm at home with 2 children, I will wonder why I thought I was tired at work
Went looking for donuts at Tesco's after all the talk about them, but settled for a chocolate milk and a white chocolate cookie instead. Feeling rather ill now......

expatinscotland · 19/10/2005 15:28

Roll on 9 December! My last day at work. BUT, still have lots to do between now and then.

scully · 19/10/2005 15:38

Completely off any topic, but if anyone wants to online shop with Waitrose for the first time, I have a £15 off code when you spend £75. Go to www.ocado.com and enter VOU5487830 & £15 is deducted from your bill. It arrived with the Urchin catalogue last night.

MINNIE1 · 19/10/2005 15:47

sweetheart,

ooooohhhhhh bump dropping.. But it happens so it must be moving into position. Exciting stuff... (you could be DEC BUB NO. 1)
Still stuck on names, So far we like Neil and Tara.. Love Lucas emm DP might have to get the book out again.. Yours is a little boy, i never found out!! Would love to but DP wont. think its going to be a girl.. Everyone is saying a boy... Dont mind as long as it comes out and its healthy.. Looking forward to meeting this buba that has been keeping me up at night.

expatinscotland
Finishing on the 9th aswell... OOOOO cant wait either..

flutterbee · 19/10/2005 15:58

Afternoon Ladies,

Just thought I would drop you all a line to let you know that I am off to the hospital in a mo. I have had really bad cramps all morning and the occasional sharp pain, I have tried to ignore and hope they go away but I rang the maternity unit and they have told me to go straight in so I am just waiting for DH to come home and take me. Probably nothing to be worried about but it is scarey when you have no idea what to excpect.
I shall keep you all posted.

scully · 19/10/2005 15:59

I've printed out the top 50 names for last year, to see if there's anything I like - still very undecided.....

dramaqueen72 · 19/10/2005 16:00

ffs ladies how the heck am i supposed to keep up? i've only been gone 3/4 of a day!!!!!!!!!!!
flutter, goodness, hope all is well and its a normal ache and pain thing. do let us know. good luck!!

sweetheart · 19/10/2005 16:01

ohhh flutterbe - Hopefully it's nothing to worry about - take care sweetie, I'll be thinking of you. Let us know how you are asap!

DQ - have e-mailed you. I know you've had a busy day today but let us know how your scan went asap!

sweetheart · 19/10/2005 16:01

YEAH DQ!!!! How was it?

MINNIE1 · 19/10/2005 16:03

flutterbee
Hi Hope it nothing.. thinking of you.

Scully,
Looking at them here but by the time i get home i forget the ones i liked!!! should print them out (it would be the right thing!!

dramaqueen72 · 19/10/2005 16:07

right, tried reading gave up
online shopping just crashed on me -grrrrrrrr and i lost my mega list. bugger.

okay re scan, baby is fine and very well. OF COURSE!
the scanner said she wouldnt of even referred us to come back for this appointment had she seen it at 19wks. baby weighs about 3lbs2.
BUT
is extended breech. (kangel -are we having the same baby??LOL!) and they told me in no uncertain terms if it doesnt turn i not only cant ahve a homebirth, but unlikely to even be offered the option of a normal birth, straight onto c-section. so that really took the glow off my day!!!!!!! baby in 75-95 centiles for everything so not exactly a small chappy in here. so HE MUST TURN!!!
am now going to spend every evening on hands and knees. have another scan booked for 37wks to confirm baby weight and position.
quick everyone tell me everything that turns babys...even old wives tales. my midwife said 'oh dont worry yet' but you know, having worried about something thro out entire pg so far why stop now eh?!!!!
nasty aches and pains in back all weekend were feet btw! saw a great shot of two little feet stamping up and down.
oh -nice thing- think i saw again 'boy' on the scan. to the point where I'm 80/90% sure now. dh crossed i even peeked LOL.
thankyou for thinking of me and having fingers crossed. meant alot to see the well wishes.

dramaqueen72 · 19/10/2005 16:08

sorry that sounds like I'm moaning and not happy - I was delighted to see a normal wriggly baby in there of course. all that worry and he was fine!!!

scully · 19/10/2005 16:16

I wrote Kangel (I think) a list of things yesterday for breech......still a few weeks for it to turn though. Keep bouncing on your ball and wash the floors/skirting boards, that should do it
Hope everything is ok flutter, better to be checked out though.
Minnie, I've printed out the list to read on the train on the way home - we'll never decide on a name if i don't do something! Have a friend who hasn't returned my baby name books and I refuse to buy anymore, so will have to resort to net lists until she gives them back - baby could be un-named for a while yet

sweetheart · 19/10/2005 16:21

DQ - I'm really pleased your scan went well. Like scully says there's plenty of time for you to turn the baby yet. I remembre being shocked (at around 25 ish weeks) that you said your baby was haed down already so it just goes to show that things can change!

If you have to have a c-section it won't be the end of the world - just think, you'll probably get to meet your baby 2 weeks early

ninah · 19/10/2005 16:24

Flutterbee so sorry you're having all this worry. Keep talking! and keep us updated, OK?
Breech dq, awkward little Noah. Glad 'he's OK tho!
scully I think I've got a baby name book somewhere and I've given up so you can have it, shall I cat you? also have one of Cornish Names, will make you laugh!
