Hi again,
Karma - Thank you very much! Just spent the last 20 minutes in absolute hysterics reading the link to the pirate noises thread. Ooooh, I laughed and laughed!

Jenjam - Hope you're feeling better. I've had the exact same on and off for about two weeks but personally think it's something to do with iron tablets I was taking and hormonal changes etc. Hopefully you'll enjoy a relaxing afternoon with your DP and all will be well.

Twinkle - I guess you're going away. I must have missed original post. Have a lovely time and hope ribs are okay.

Had my first bout of sickness today in days and was sent promptly to bed while mum did all the ironing. She woke me up with yummy trifle and brought up her laptop so I could stay in bed and catch up. Her DP is cooking again and has just cleaned the downstairs rooms - I feel like i'm in Paradise, I kid you not!!!! So, I can happily be sick, feel a bit crappy and smile at the same time. Baby is so under my ribs - I can't breathe!!!!

Hope I haven't missed anyone although I probably have and thanks for all the reasurrance on post natal ward issues.

Oh, before i forget...Nova, how was your first walk out with Natalie? How are you keeping?

Enthusia, we could have a meet up in December and take the bubs for walks in our identical Jane's right? LoL Sooooo last season darling!

Oh! All your posts are coming back to me now. Londoner, do you mean LisaLisa as in "Lisa Lisa with Cult Jam and Full Force"? I remember well.

BoB - Glad babs is in head down position and that you are well. I stopped drinking a few years ago so fortunately don't have to worry about intake of alcohol but I do miss my hourly coffee/latte etc.. I suppose the coke is just as bad but never mind. My friend smoked 5 cigs a day and had the odd drink in her PG and DD was fine, everyone to their own i say.

Love xxxx

ChaCha, glad to hear you're being so well looked after, sounds bliss, apart from being sick of course! Yes, I do mean that Lisa Lisa, was she not the DJ? How come you know about that when you're so much younger than me? Did you start clubbing v. young? Or am I just confused...again...

novadandypowder · 21/10/2005 17:16

karma, i thought i did a lot of shopping before, but i can't stay away from the shops now! We realised there were things we either didn't have or didn't have enough of so we've been sorting ourselves out. i can't wait to get her lots of clothes, but most 0-3 stuff is huge on her. even the new born size sleepsuits are baggy.

the trip out was good, it's very easy to get so wrapped up in babydom that you forget the rest of the world still goes on. she started to cry though so dh carried her for some of the trip. wasn't impressed that two shop assistants thought she was a boy though - must start dressing her in pink!

Enthusia · 21/10/2005 17:27

Good to hear from you ChaCha and glad that you are having such a nice time with your mum, although you are making me really jealous now!!!! Hopefully not long til I see my folks now!!!

Twinkle, have a lovely time away. I don't think its being paranoid to take all your baby gear just in case. I am going to take EVERYTHING if I make it to Manchester!!!!!!! Have just booked the Copthorne (just in case) so no, no Golden Tulip!!!

BoB - Can't believe that women would take the risk! I must admit I haven't been teetotal during pg, but have limited myself to 1 unit a week, on a Sunday and made it Red wine so I feel I am doing my blood some good as a result. Even then I have a little bit of a panic after, esp as I seem to feel tipsy quit easily on it. Will be a cheap Christmas for me in terms of alcohol!!!!!!

I am still feeling quite good but the motivation of this morning lasted all of 15mins. Have spent most of day watching tv, surfing on here, eating and sleeping. My body just seems to be telling me to rest, and I suppose what the body wants the body gets. Can't say I am feeling as if bubs is going to drop anytime now, but then I have been trying to take my mind off it more, still getting odd pains but they are not building, so I am reckoning they must be something else. Did have a joke with friend yesterday that actually I am going through labour as we speak and that I actually have an amazing pain threshold, and at some point I am just going to stand up and Bubs will land on carpet. I wish ! Actually not sure if I do, am quite looking forward to the whole experience in some sick way!!!

Will keep you posted over weekend if anything happens, being with DH and being relaxed will hopefully boost Oxytocin levels so that may kick start everything you never know! At this rate though I can see me going through my symptoms daily up to 42+ and just being on here chatting to myself at the end

Have a good weekend everyone

Enthusia · 21/10/2005 17:30

Oh good to hear from you Nova and good to hear you had such a positive shopping trip, despite the sales assisstants ignorance!!!!

I can't wait to hit the shops after the birth, just to be able to buy cute boy or girl clothes will be fab, there is so much lovely stuff out there.

Oh and I am sorry to say that I love Christmas sooooooooo much that Bubs WILL be wearing a christmas outfit on the day!!!!! Am not going to spend heaps on one though, Tesco do really cheap ones which will be good enough for one day's use!!!

novadandypowder · 21/10/2005 17:47

i'm with you on the cute/tacky xmas outfit enthusia.

pictures of natalie

the one of my feet is for you ladies.

ChaCha · 21/10/2005 17:51

Enthusia - Glad to hear you are well and resting. Have a lovely, relaxing weekend

Londoner - Oh..too young for clubbing at that time LoL. Probably just danced in front of the mirror in my bedroom. I think the tune i'm thinking of was around at the same time as S-express and the like..could be wrong.
At 14 or 15 think I used to go to a place called Le Palais in Hammersmith on a Sunday afternoon to dance. We would spend all week at school practising our moves....do you remember the shuffle? LOL

Have a lovely weekend everyone!!! Will be checking in to see if anyone's dropped!!!!!

Enthusia · 21/10/2005 17:53

Ok, have gone all weepy now. She is gorgeous Nova!

I WANT MINE NOW (lies on floor, kicking and punching carpet!)

What a great set of pictures, and you look so well and happy!

Gorgeous baby - well done!

karmamother · 21/10/2005 17:53

Glad to hear you enjoyed the link, Chacha. You put your feet up, love, & enjoy the rest.

Enthusia, I saw those outfits in Tesco's this afternoon, the bibs are rather cute, I have to admit.

BoB, that does sound like a lot of alcohol. At best, she may end up with baby that is unable to reach its full potential at school, if she does end up with fetal alcohol syndrome. Personally, I wouldn't want to take the risk, but then again, I can live without a drink.

Nova, you go, girl!! Pink outfits are sooooo cute. I've bought bubs a pink furry all in one from Mothercare that looks like a pink cat. Cannot wait to put her in it. Does this remind you of being a little girl, dressing your dolls?

Well, dp is back from his boys drinking, ahem, GOLFING trip & he is rather hung over. Poor thing. All of these drinking excursions are being secretly tallied up so I can get him to return the compliment in the future. Aren't women devious? Tee Hee.

ChaCha · 21/10/2005 17:58

Just a quickie...

Nova - You look lovely in your pics!! Natalie is beautiful and you look well adjusted to motherhood. Congratulations to you and your DH. I can't wait to get there now!

OP posts:
karmamother · 21/10/2005 18:01

Nova, she is absolutely gorgeous but I suspect you know that already! Your poor feet!

Hey, your cat loks like mine. what does she think of Natalie? Any jealousy?

babyonboard · 21/10/2005 18:02

aaaw Nova..she is gorgeous!
i'm jealous now! only four weeks to wait though....

karma - it's quite silly, she seemed to thing f.a.s or any other problems couldn't develop after 12 weeks..hmm..made me feel better about my occasional shandies though!

chacha - I'm just making your stuffed peppers again! yum yum...but can I be trusted to operate the oven!? hehehee

Laylasmum · 21/10/2005 18:55

Nova she's absolutely lovely and so tiny !!!

Am feeling very sorry for myself today, have been suffering with a viral thing thats given me a dead sore throat and sore ears which are discharging nice yellow stuff - sorry TMI !! But to top things off i managed to fall down our outsides steps today somehow!! As you ladies know when you've got an elephants belly if you are going to fall theres not alot you can do about it. Anyway ended up badly spraining my ankle, went to hospital to check nothing broken but its all swollen and green and black in places - very attractive!! So am feeling full of self pity at the moment, have to say am really looking forward to looking after a new baby and a very active 3 year old when I can hardly walk!!

Anyway enough of my pathetic stories hope every one else is well xxx

38+5

goldenoldie · 21/10/2005 20:18

Nova - she is beautiful. Well done!

Busyalexsmummy · 21/10/2005 20:32

awwww bless,cant wait........

Busyalexsmummy · 21/10/2005 20:33

Im in tears tonight with spd pain, walked into town today to do a few things and met dp from work and now i feel like my crutch is being ripped in two

tessasmum · 21/10/2005 20:45

Nova, she's gorgeous. Takes me right back to Tessa's first few days though she was never that little!

Laylasmum - obviously a day for ending up on the pavement! I did it outside the house as I was locking the door - I have no idea how. Luckily my only injuries were an aching backside and dented pride

Busy - sorry you feel so bad, I have no idea how you manage to cope with the pain and a toddler. I just about manage the latter and even then its with the help of story tapes (her latest discovery) and Cbeebies

JenJam · 21/10/2005 21:09

nova - aaah. Natalie's tiny, a little beauty! and you look very well too (even with the feet)

novadandypowder · 21/10/2005 21:15

Thank you everyone

karma, we have 3 cats, two black and one white with black splodges. So far they seem to have adjusted quite well, although the boss cat tends to pace up and down a bit, and they run if she cries for too long. We try to make sure their routine isn't altered, and give them lots of attention.

JenJam · 21/10/2005 21:22

sorry to hear some of you - laylasmum and busy -are having such a cack time of it. what is spd?

I feel like jumping up and down and shouting OUT. OUT. OUT. the waiting is a little torturous-as i mentally talking myself round...."it will NOT hurt". mind over matter and listen to my rainbow relaxation dvd...

i have a very full weekend so I won't be logging on again on Sunday eve (unless something exciting happens inbetween!!) have good weekends everyone and take good care - no more falling or wobbling over or crutch wrenching spd i hope(will someone please tell me what is spd???). Jen

Busyalexsmummy · 21/10/2005 21:39

symphysis pubis dysfunction

BEKsmum · 21/10/2005 21:43

Evening girls, blimey i missed some chat over the last couple of days, have sped read Thursdays and Fridays posts, so apolgies if I miss anyone out here, but Layla & Tessasmums hope you are both feeling ok after your falls.

Nova needless to say I had to take time to look at your link and Natalie is absolutely gorgeous and you look very well on new motherhood, where's the dark eyes and ragged hair & PJ's

Enthusia glad to see yu are hanging on in there, does sound like it's getting close for you now though.

Chacha, glad to hear you are having a nice time with your mum, makes all the difference doesn't it.

Had a really nice day today as Ben's school did a Trafalgar pageant, which then covered all the ages, the Pre-school had to be astronauts so Ben went as a Thunderbird all dressedin silver & blue, even managed to cover his wellies in silver foil. Thankfully the rain held off & the kids had a great time.

Have been backwards and forwards to the hospital and mw this week due to blood pressure and finally got to speak to a consultant today and it has been decided that I am going in for a sweep on Monday to try and get my labour started and if this doesn't work I am to be induced on Wednesday - so hopefully everything including the shoutiung should be over by Thursday!!!

Did have some bad news today though as dh lost his Nan, I'm beginning to think I've got a bit of a curse on his family as his dad died when I was carrying Ben, it's definitely strange how it seems that as a new life begins an old on finishes - she was 89 but it's still very sad especailly as dh's family are in Wales & dh doesn't drive so he can't just go down to be with his mum, he'll also have to go down to the funeral on his own, which I feel really guilty about but it's just not going to be possible for me to go with a baby that's just a couple of days old.

Sorry didn't mean to come on here and be depressing, hope you all have a great weekend and hopefully I'll be able to fill you in on my progress on Monday as they say a sweep has a 50/50 chance of working within 48 hours - eek! BEKs

Busyalexsmummy · 22/10/2005 08:04

beksmum-wow, a sweep, cool, looks like your be next then unless anyone else pops over the weekend!

karmamother · 22/10/2005 10:03

Morning.
Just a quickie as I don't think I'll be able to log on over the weekend.

Busy, I'm really struggling with spd too. By the evening its like toothache around my vagina (TMI!) I reckon its a small price to pay for her being head down. Really wasn't happy when she was breech.

Beksmum, don't worry about being depressing on here, thats what we're all here for. Hope things work out for next week.

Nova, wow! Three cats sounds like a handful with a new baby. I do worry about Flora (my cat) lying in the cot/pram with the baby, you'd need eyes in the back of your head to keep an eye on 3!

Laylasmum & Tessasmum, be careful!!! It is easy to lose your balance with a big bump, isn't it?

Catch up with you all on Monday & I hope I don't miss any new babies before then!

ChaCha · 22/10/2005 11:10

I said you'd be next Beks - Are you going to prove me right then?
