Executive decision that at 987 posts we're moving over!

New challenge - can we fill up 1000 posts before the first babies arrive, given that we managed to keep our legs crossed all through the last one?!

First babies are due, officially, next month but are there any in such a hurry to see the world that they can beat our chatting?

I have to say, despite no leakage mine are definitely 'teet-like'!

stuffedmk · 25/02/2011 14:01

Blimey, a couple of days away and look what happens....Big congrats Jo I'm sure little Conor will be big and strong in no time.

I haven't leaked nearly as much with this one as I did last time, but then I didn't manage to BF last time so I have decided it is a good sign for me lol....but I do admit to giving the nips a bit of a test on occasion lol, glad I'm not the only one Grin As for a nail brush.....Shock don't think I'll be trying that!!

I need to do my shopping so will be including lots of tasty milk improving things now lol....I do like that coconut yogurt (and luckily nobody else in the house does so I'll have it all to myself) Think I might make some flapjacks with coconut in and hunt through my various books for other treats for the freezer.

JustKeepSwimming · 25/02/2011 14:29

Eek at DIY-pile-removal Shock NO WAY!!!
Its not too bad so far, i did brave asking at a pharmacy earlier, firstly the pharmacist was not an English-speaker so had to then say hemarrhoids {sp??}, then he said 'no, i can't give you anything as it was pass into your anus and then into your blood and then the placenta, you need to see a GP'
I was just desperate to get out of there by that point!!!

I'll leave it for now, if by Mon i feel i need help i'll try and get a docs appt - hard to get most of the time, prob impossible over half-term.

Been at soft play this morning, come home & done DS1 painting/DS2 garden time, now mid-baking with DS1, have had 2 v lazy days so prob over-doing it today, need the weekend & 2 more lazy days to recover, lol.

SarahJinx · 25/02/2011 14:38

JKS oh no, I did a little snorty giggle at your Pharmacist, and I don't know you obviousy but can quite clearly see your face!

RE long nips aquistion - hooray, I always wanted those lovely porny long ones!

LisMcA · 25/02/2011 15:41

ROFL at Pron Star Nipples! There is absolutely nothing porn star like about my chesticles at the moment! They cannot possibly get an bigger I'll be like that Lola Ferrari that used to be on Eurotrash!!

I gave up on the trainers and put on little flat pumps that slip on. Too much hard work to do laces again! can't beleive I put them on the wrong feet and didn't notice Blush

LittleMilla Thank you, yes I am Scottish and have yet to come across someone call Blair who is not a lovely guy!! So I'm giving DS a head start to the road to Sainthood!!

Can I just say about the scrubbing nips with a toothbrush. I have not done this, my mum did, 21 years ago as recommended by HV then. i have no intention to try it! Ouchy!

Mum and Dad are visiting this weekend, it's mums birthday so I'm off to bake a cake and make some tiffin! Mum's on a diet, but I'm using it as an excuse to make yummy things!!

Cyclebump · 25/02/2011 16:31

Enough of the nipple-scrubbing talk. Mine are now all itchy thinking about it and rubbing them in the office is frowned upon!

I have one more week left of work and next Friday's my last day. I've done most of the handover so am not super busy but yes, the commute's grim. I think I've left it about right though. The magazine's in two-week cycles and I'll have finished my final issue and have tied up loose ends.

I've worked since I was 20 so I think I'd have got bored on leave if I'd gone off sooner and I'm only getting really fed up with it now so best of both I reckon!

My boobs are similarly enormous, DP is fascinated by them. He still insists, however, that I am 'bumpiful' rather than whale-like.

beckie90 · 25/02/2011 16:49

wow new thread already :)

big congratulations to JO. im rather jealous. im getting so excited now.

so went to see the midwife the other day, and she decided she couldnt tell which way lil man was laid, as she couldnt tell if what at the top was a head or a bony bottom haha, i was pretty sure he was head down due to all the kicks in the ribs im getting.

my boobs havent even grown this time, however they started pouring the milk at 24 weeks not nice waking up in the morning thinking my chest has been sweating, but actually finding its just a big leakage Blush

caramellokoalalover · 25/02/2011 17:06

Lucieloo this is the chocolate cake recipe I use with ground almonds, you don't have to add the lime topping and fancy cream if you don't fancy it.

Ouch to nipple scrubbing! Back away from the scourers people you're making my eyes water. While we're sharing though, my nipples are enormous now, rofl at porn star description. The areola bit is taking over...soon they will be all brown bit and no boob. Freaky. At least the baby will be able to find his/her way to the milk with such huge targets to stare at Smile. Are they going to go back to normal size after? They never went this huge when I bf DS Confused.

LisMcA · 25/02/2011 17:38

Lol caramel at the jaunty cream in Nigella's recipe! Where does she get them from! Although I can't think of anything worse on a chocolate cake. Tequila and I have issues that go back years!

lucielooo · 25/02/2011 18:06

Thanks caramel I have a quiet weekend on the cards so feel a bit of baking coming on! yum yum

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 25/02/2011 18:59

caramel - my nipples are even bigger this time around too. I have big boobs and they are rapidly becoming all nipple, I am a bit HmmShock at them tbh. Still, the baby won't be able to miss them which I guess is the point!

BeetleBaby · 25/02/2011 20:23

I'm now on leave! Yay! Grin I feel like I've not stopped the last couple of weeks, am sure I forgot to do something before I left but I DON'T CARE!! Though I'm probably going to freak out on Monday when I don't have to get up and go to work!

My boobs, while much bigger than what I started with, are still not huge, though they do seem to be much more nipple than they used to be. With the flat/pointy thing I have one of each, does this make me special?! Hmm

Cyclebump · 25/02/2011 20:25

Ooh, Beetle I am so jealous! Five more work days before I'm off full-time work! Am still doing music school on Saturdays until 19 March thigh. I know, am mental!

DP swears the big nips are sexy, my God I'm glad he can lie so well...

Petalouda · 25/02/2011 20:44

Envy I've got 2 more weeks of work.

Half term has given me a taste of time off, and I don't want to go back!

I think I'm just all spaced - had one of those naps that make you feel like you've woken up in a parallel universe.

Liv77 · 25/02/2011 20:53

My cup size has hardly changed, but I've had the back extenders on for the last couple of weeks. My Areola are also extending at a Shock rate.

If i'm the same this time as with DS they my boobs will turn into water balloons once I start breastfeeding.
Rather worryingly as I am planning on breastfeeding again however if my DS so much as glimpes my nipples he immediately trys to press them Blush. That should make trying to breastfeed the baby interesting.
I blame The Wiggles and their

SnapFrakkleAndPop · 26/02/2011 12:22

PMSL liv! That song is quite ridiculously catchy though...

I'm washing baby clothes today! Putting off packing the hospital bag as it would make it seem all rather real. Is it v PFB that I bought specially-for-babies washing liquid?

Oh and I started a BFing cake thread over in food.

Sassy20 · 26/02/2011 13:44

Congratulations jo - really pleased for you and your OH. Can't believe the first baby has been born!

Sassy20 · 26/02/2011 13:44

Is anyone else seeing their message in tiny writing as they're typing it - if so what do you do to change it?

Petalouda · 26/02/2011 14:31

Only when I'm on my phone, Sassy! Can't help you there I'm afraid.

I've just re-packed my hospital bag according to the list the MW gave me on monday, and brought the car seat down. I'm thinking of putting them both in the car. Or will that just guarantee I go overdue?!

I bought a heap more muslins yesterday - got a pack of 50 mini ones which apparently you can use instead of cotton wool. I figure they'll go in the wash with my reusable nappies.

Anyone else getting cervix spasms (very short sharp stabby pains) or upper thigh cramps (new this morning!). Both are making me stop and wince audibly. I can't wait to see the kids reactions to that on monday!

Sassy20 · 26/02/2011 14:32

Ooh, it's changed back to normal now so ignore my last message.

SnapFrakkleAndPop · 26/02/2011 16:19

I get random cervix spasms, petal. And I bought the top/tail mini muslins to use as reusable wipes. They seemed pretty good value! Now just got to hope they arrive... I don't think my mother remembered to get proof of posting though

Cyclebump · 26/02/2011 18:51

Have just arrived home after a hectic day. Was ambushed by lovely friends who have bought me lovely baby things! And it's all practical stuff that I really wanted. Got a bit misty frankly Blush

Then I had jazz meet up. Baby loves the double bass Smile

Am home to kitchen units and worktops starting to go in and am waiting for DP to come home for an early night. Yawn!

LoulouCapone · 26/02/2011 19:08

Hello April ladies. congratulations jo! Wishing your little bundle a healthy journey through his first weeks, and hopefully you'll have him home soon.

I've been cheating and lurking on the January thread because their babies have been arriving. So I've been soaking up all the lovely birthing vibes! Grin

No milk here and my boobs are huge so I know it's there. Glad it's not leaking out though! Never leaked with my other Dcs either, and it was definitely there after! So don't worry if you're not.

Pushchair/pram being delivered next week hopefully, then equipment wise we're done. I've been ver naughty and bought two... I got a really good deal on an iCandy at our local pram shop, but it was for the pushchair only. So my intention was to buy the carrycot and car seat for it... But... While looking online I found a mamas and papas ultima package with everything, car seat, isofix base, pram, pushchair, chassis, 4 x footmuffs and suncanopy for about £10 more than it would have cost me to get the stuff for the iCandy. My intention is to sell it on once bumpaloo is big enough for the iCandy! Honest!

Just need to start assembling bits now, and doing the bedding. Eeek! It's all becoming very real. I'm so blinking sleep deprived aching drained excited!

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 26/02/2011 20:08

Yes to spasms - all bloody day today! And what feels like the baby grabbing handfuls of me and kind of pinching - lovely!

Petal - our carseat is in the car already, just incase we're not near home when everything kicks off and we end up in another hospital.

lucielooo · 26/02/2011 22:51

Finished decorating the nursery today (indulgent first time mum emoticon)and washing all the babies things - and now feeling completely knackered. Went out and bought everything for a lovely homecooked feast for me and DP and ran out of steam somewhere near the checkout so ended up eating pizza for dinner instead Blush Takes me by surprise just how easily knackered you get being this pregnant! Very jealous of those finishing work soon, I've still got another 3 weeks to go and really wishing I'd decided to finish earlier!

Hope you're all having lovely weekends :)
