Executive decision that at 987 posts we're moving over!

New challenge - can we fill up 1000 posts before the first babies arrive, given that we managed to keep our legs crossed all through the last one?!

First babies are due, officially, next month but are there any in such a hurry to see the world that they can beat our chatting?

I've never tried coc pops Grin but I do love coco pops!

Eaten a choc eclair and a cornetto this evening.Think I should have my own greedy pig emoticon.Perhaps my pregnancy induced sweet tooth is the cause of the glucose in my urineHmm

Liv77 · 14/03/2011 22:30

I watched OBEM too, got very broody when Tiffany was born. Have also been eating to much Ice cream this evening. Went shopping this afternoon and boxes of mini magnums were BOGOF. Have discovered I really like the caramel ones. I bought some choc eclairs for my colleagues on Sat as it was my last day at work and ate two, one for me and one for the bump. Blush

I'd definately but some coc pops but you wouldn't be able to add the milk, they'd go soft Grin

NotAnotherNewNappy · 14/03/2011 22:37

Now all I can think about are cornettos and magnums Envy

Petalouda · 14/03/2011 22:57

How's the BH's cycle? I'm getting heaps tonight. Since about 8ish. Timing them on DH's iPhone in the hope that it's The beginning of something.

Don't think it is tho, they're v regular, but erratic in intensity. Going to see if I can sleep now!

SnapFrakkleAndPop · 15/03/2011 04:54

Still around petal? I'm assuming you managed to get to sleep!

Gosh it was busy on here last night. This is what I miss when I try to go to be early so I can make my MW appt on time in the morning. I shall report back on the state of my wee Grin Ah the things pregnancy makes you say...

I don't do milk at all - have to have soya milk which I'm informed is like skimmed, but as rice milk is even thinner and more watery I can't believe that! Which reminds me I need to ask people who know about these things whether rice milk is better when BFing as I wouldn't want a baby allergic to soya and potentially cows milk too. It's already got a hefty genetic risk of allergies.

Bookswise has anyone read mini-shopaholic (pure chicklit)? I'm dithering over whether to get it or not on my kindle.

Morning.

Well that was disappointing. BH's every 10mins from 8pm-midnight. Then I woke up at 5.30 starving and drenched in sweat (not unusual!).

I expect this will happen a lot over the next 3 weeks.

Back to sleep...

Cyclebump · 15/03/2011 08:57

Phew! No sleep last night, intermittent BHs all night meant I kept having to turn over. It takes me ages to turn and the oh so sexy grunts of exertion disturbed DP too. I've been lucky so far in that I only need to wee once in the night normally but last night I got up a couple of times. BHs always make me want to wee!

The cats woke the second time and tried to break into the bedroom when I got back from the loo. Poor DP then needed to go. So both of us are knackered this morning but he had to leave at 7 for work. I slept in a bit but hungry cats yowled me out of bed.

Eugh!

Seems like the BHs have settled now. Baby is kicking merrily after a bowl of porridge.

SarahJinx · 15/03/2011 09:33

Ooh petal was getting excited there for a bit catching up this morning, I haven't had anything like a BH yet and will def freak out when I do!

Am with you all on the sleep horrors, am on night three of hourly waking on account of aching lady. Had to resort to paracetamol at 3am this morning. It's fine on a weekend but today am sat at my desk like a zombie.

No idea what to do about it, three weeks left at work are not condusive to being awake all night with aching bits....

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 15/03/2011 09:36

Bleugh I had the most awful night's sleep. Kept turning over, couldn't get comfy for some reason. Then I needed the loo, then DH had to get up at 5am to go to work. I drifted off finally into proper sleep at just after 6am, and then DS woke at 7.15 which is about an hour sooner than he does normally!
Feeling. Like. Shite.

DS and I are off to a friend for lunch, and I know she will make me sit down for 3 hours while we are there, so that will be nice. Maybe I will sneak a nap on the sofa! Grin

Cycle - yes I make those noises too, and actually last night I crashed into DH as I turned over several times. Poor man, I think he will be in the spare room next week!

BeetleBaby · 15/03/2011 09:42

Obviously last night was the night of BH! I had them most of the evening and into the night, then when they stopped baby decided it was play time. I finally drop to sleep to be woken by DH to tell me 'The Fear' had hit and he kept having a nightmare about feeding the baby eggs?! Confused

We did get a phone call last night from B & SIL to say they're expecting too Smile They hadn't said anything but we were under the impression they had been trying for awhile as when we told them I was pregnant things were a little uncomfortable for a bit. We now know they had (about 2 years) so we're really pleased for them and just hope everything goes well.

Though it was very odd having conversations about how our baby would be the 'Big Cousin' and will be able to play with their baby despite neither of them being born yet!

kittycatcat · 15/03/2011 10:04

Morning all

You have made me want a crunchie blast. Might get some on the way home.

chipsahoynicki · 15/03/2011 10:05

It seems a lot of us couldn't sleep last night. I had hip pain all night. I had a midwife appointment this morning who said baby is head down but seems he's trying to come out of my hip... so explains the pain!

I hope you all manage to get some rest today. My DS is at pre school this afternoon, i intend to do the shopping, then nap!

How lovely for your brother and sister in law beetle. My sis in law is being induced with number 4 today, very exciting!

OBEM was good last night, i really felt for Oakley she looked so scared and then so exhausted.

kittycatcat · 15/03/2011 10:13

Oakley did great didnt she. Bless her.

Petalouda · 15/03/2011 10:34

I felt quite sorry for Oakley. A 33yr old heroin addict boyfriend of only 2 months before she fell pg? Good on them for trying to do things properly, but there's something not right about the 18yr old giving the 33yr old bus & beer money during her induction.

I hope she goes back to her family.

Maybe a bit judgemental, but I couldn't cope with that situation now, let alone 12yrs ago.

Heard last week that we've got a pg 14yr old at school. I used to teach the father, before he was excluded. Poor little mite (the baby, not the father. Although something clearly went wrong with his early life too)

kittycatcat · 15/03/2011 10:40

It's sad eh Petal she has had to grow up fast and seems mature for her years.

MrsWajs · 15/03/2011 10:57

Lol @ soft coc pops, they wouldn't be up to much at all!

Speaking of ice cream I got some ben n jerrys coconutterly which I'd forgtten about - will be digging that out of the freezer later on :)

Ali I feel your pain, after getting up at 5.30 Thursday and Friday for work last week I then had to get up at 6.45 with DSS on Saturday too as DP was working, he normally gets up at 8am so I was a bit gutted!! I suppose I better get used to it for when LO arrives!

I was trying to remember who it was on here that had polyhydraminos when I was watching OBEM - they didn't really cover it at all, just a vague mention. Although I couldn't really figure out why she went home again on day 3 I think I'd have had enough by then! Bless her!

My mum has now decided that oakley might be a nice name for girl after watching it!

MrsWajs · 15/03/2011 11:01

Oooooh and also after having 3 days relief after using a pessary for my thrush, it's back. Again. Already!!! How is that fair??????

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 15/03/2011 11:18

I hate to say it MrsWaj, but I would try cutting out yeast and refined sugar. I know it's a total shitter, but you can do it. Once you get your had around it, it's not that difficult - honest!

I have so much bum hole and fanny pressure today I feel like the baby is just going to drop out. Another 6+ weeks of this Shock

Right, now off to read to ds's pre-school class as it's book week this week. They should all be ok, but I can guess who's going to be the one running around and being a shite - you guessed it, ds!! Grin

LittleMilla · 15/03/2011 11:22

Petalouda I also thought that Oakley did a good job. Although I kept on finding myself being distracted by her haor -thought it looked best non-dyed and curly...must've changed about 5 times during the prob. She was v.brave and ccalm though - lesson to all of us I think!

Cycle - I have also had a ramp up in BH. Partly because I now knwo what the odd tightening actually is Blush and partly because I think baby's head is moving down a bit. THink it's triggered something? Eager to hear who kicks off properly with REAL contractions - all so exciting!

V.jealous of those that have started ML. I have got 2.5 weeks to go...but keeping myself sane with odd days off, NCT and MW appointments.

Am also going to try and get much better posting on here daily...especially now that loads of ppl are on ML and posting even more!

MrsWajs · 15/03/2011 11:25

Hmmmm might have to agree with you now ILTMI ugh so unfair - I love sweet stuff :(

kitstwins · 15/03/2011 11:33

Watched OBEM last night. I've come to the conclusion that they don't feature the brightest sparks on there. The men appear to be a universally hopeless lump of chip-shovelling, socially inept beings who've somehow managed to attach themselves to far superior females. Honestly, when a 33 year old methodone addict comes across as the probably the best birth partner for the duration of the series you know things are bad. Having said that, I'm sure my husband and I would probably come across really badly in a fly on the wall hospital situation. Both of us sitting there reading books, droning on at one another. A nation would fall into a coma!

A crap night's sleep for me too - maybe there's something pivotal happening on the lunar cycle (full moon?). Not many braxton hicks, although I did have fairly consistent period pain all evening, which seems to be a feature most days. I guess it's my uterus stretching and growing more which means I'm clearly getting BIGGER (dear GOD!!!!!!). Thrashed about all night, boiling hot and uncomfortable. My husband decamped to the spare room as I don't think he could bear it any longer. I get so hot at night now that I basically lie naked (apart from sleep bra/vest) on top of the duvet, walled in by a billion pillows. And I still wake up drenched in sweat. Did anyone else have the dreaded night sweats after birth last time? I did - for SIX WEEKS and it waas hideous. REally hoping I miraculously swerve it this time.

Liv77 · 15/03/2011 11:34

Not fair at all MrsWajs have a Biscuit

My body must be rebelling against all the crap i've been eating. This morning i'm craving oranges, not the little diddy satsumas but the big juicy giant ones that get your fingers all sticky Grin

DS is at preschool this morning and my plan was to get his old clothes sorted out while he was gone. So far I've only finsihed his sock drawer. I admit it doesn't sound like much but I've been rather lax in doing it and i'm finding stuff that he outgrew 2 years ago. Blush I've admitted defeat for now and left piles of stuff on top of my bed and come down for a Brew

Thaney · 15/03/2011 11:38

I had a crappy nights sleep too. Hip ache meant I kept having to turn over every half an hour.

Can't even have a nap now as there are builders downstairs making a racket. Why did now seem like a good time to get the garage converted?!?

Now the building inspector has turned up which will no doubt result in the project taking even longer. MIght have to go an stand in front of him looking like I am about to drop so he realises that timing is of the essence.

SarahJinx · 15/03/2011 11:51

We all have hip and fanjo ache then it appears, please please please god one of us has a solution, or at least some suggestions to help because I for one am feeling quite teary about the prospect of it geting worse.

Ps Liv I'm having the same thing with pink ladies all of a sudden, loving those babies at the minute.

Petalouda · 15/03/2011 11:55

Kit so glad I'm not the only minger waking up in puddles of sweat! Twice last night - and therefore going from boiling hot to freezing cold and back again!

Also in the hip-ache club (I get actual cramp in the joint!).

I'm so glad I'm not in work today - I'm inexplicably exhausted!
