Keziah so far the main symptoms are having to get up to go to the loo in the middle of the night, a full / bloated feeling - is that actually a symptom? - and tiredness like I've never known. We moved house yesterday and I spent the morning cleaning the kitchen and started unpacking. Got to half twelve and I decided to have a break and watch the tennis for a bit. I saw the opening of set 1 of the federer / djokovic match and when I woke up federer had won and I'd missed it! Blush

Boba we thought long and hard about the risk of twins when we opted to have two top quality blastocysts transferred. I was told if I got pregnant then the chance of twins was high. But I couldn't have coped with blaming myself if we'd had another failed single transfer followed by another failed thaw. So, I'm apprehensive, but happy with the prospect of twins. In actual fact, I may bizarrely feel a little sad if only one of my beautiful blastocysts has made it.

Anyway, how is everyone else doing?

boba82 · 06/07/2012 23:36

KC those were the exact symptoms I had too plus all day nausea - all I could stomach was apples, apple juice & prawn cocktail crisps! Exciting times though Smile

Keziahhopes · 07/07/2012 13:44

KC - yes absolute tiredness till about week 10, plus need to get up lots in the night (which for me thankfully went in the 2nd trimester!) I also lost my appetite for anything sweet in the early stages - most unusual!!

Glad you had that sleep. Grin

KnackeredCow · 19/07/2012 20:17

And it's twins!

EDD 6 March 2013.

Both measuring as they should and two heartbeats. Am over the moon GrinGrinGrin

Keziah I'm still feeling very tired though - although thankfully sleeping through again. Sounds weird but it almost feels like my uterus has moved and isn't pushing on my bladder so much.

Loup23 · 20/07/2012 17:16

Congratulations kc how sweet! Identical or non? Or is it too early ?

Good luck! Will be checking in to see progress, 6 weeks left for me Confused c

Ilovekittyelise · 22/07/2012 20:00

congrats KC, how wonderful!

im presuming non-identical if you had two implanted? you never know though, perhaps only one survived and then split?!!!

so pleased for you, i know it has been a long painful journey, i hope that your difficulties are over xxx

KnackeredCow · 22/07/2012 20:20

Yes non-ID. Two separate sacs and placentas. Smile

Hope everyone is doing well?

Keziahhopes · 24/07/2012 22:22

Amazing news KC and am almost identical EDD to mine for 2012!!! Let us know how it goes! Gosh, twins - wow!!

Sad news here. My mum passed away last week, after a short but critical illness. She only got to see ds for the 20 weeks he was alive and she waited so long for him. So glad despite distance she saw lots of him and came to stay for a whole week despite being so ill!

KnackeredCow · 24/07/2012 22:28

Keziah I am so very sorry to hear that your mum has died. My thoughts are with you at this difficult time. Take care and look after yourself x

boba82 · 25/07/2012 18:12

Sorry to hear that Keziah Zach was only 17 weeks when my mum passed so I know how you feel. I cry every day at the injustice of the situation as she loved him so much and I wish she was here to see how he is coming on Sad Hugs to you x

KC Wow congratulations! x x

Loup good luck on the final stretch - don't envy anyone being heavily pregnant!!

Storm thinking of you, hope you are doing as well as you can be x

Keziahhopes · 29/07/2012 20:30

Thanks Boba I remember your little one was very young also. We didn't expect it at all but so pleased despite the distance how much she saw of ds, including coming to stay etc. Precious photos. Know what you mean, it took so long to have him and she would have loved to have heard all his news and firsts - sadly my dd not so interested and having no-one to tell is what I am missing right now Sad x THanks

StormBird · 31/07/2012 12:58

Keziah, so sorry to hear about your Mum. I hope you have lots of support hun. Sending hugs.

KC fab news from you hun, TWINS! Wow. I hope you are well

Ilovekittyelise · 13/08/2012 21:03

Hi all,

The thread seems to be rather quiet at the moment. Hope everyone is ok. KC think of you regularly, hope things are progressing nicely, storm, hope you are feeling ok.

Not much new here, finally got into the swing of losing the immense amount of weight - 20 pounds down another 30 to go. sams nearly one now and is full of beans. not quite walking yet but wont be far and has a few words. my plan to be a stay at home mum has fallen on its face, i've realised i just like getting out to work, i enjoy the money and the independence, and feel quite bored being at home. im on the lookout for suitable opportunities, but with a fairly limited geographical area, it might take a bit of time, but i feel better for looking, being at home really isnt for me! we literally spend no time here these days as it drives me nuts, go out for a long walk first thing, come back for a little nap (him) and lunch and then go out again, swimming, soft play, see friends, anything, everything. he really loves other kids and is very sociable so will have no qualms whatsoever about him being in nursery full time.

right, im watching something about autism on the box. xxx

Keziahhopes · 14/08/2012 09:06

Hi Ilovekitty - great you have such a routine with ds, I am going to do lots of activities in autumn also as I plan to go back part-time after a year's maternity leave so feel I want to socialise ds and also do things with him while I can. Great you realised what you want, hope you find it ok. Fantastic weight loss there - something I wish to tackle too!! You almost half way there Smile

Storm hope all ok - great you got a plan!

KC how are things going. You had lovely scan yet?

SlightlyBabyCrazed · 14/08/2012 11:01

Hello CBFM ladies, recognise so many of you. I dropped out of cbfm usage as was not to be for me, after 4 failed iui goes bingo on 1st ivf cycle! Am 14 weeks today, due 12.02.13!
Congratulations to all of you!

Keziahhopes · 14/08/2012 17:29

Oh SBC that is amazing - congratulations. I have a Feb baby - great month! I found my CBFM didn't work either, but it gave me a great group of people to support me through those horrible times Grin. how are you doing?

Loup23 · 18/08/2012 22:40

Lost thread for a while and just catching up. Congrats sbc fantastic news. Great you have a plan storm hope cbfm works for you quickly. How are the twins kc? And how are all the babies?

Due date is two weeks today and I'm so nervous and excited, so weird thinking I'll actually have a baby two years after first trying Grin will keep u all posted on the arrival.... X

Hoophopes · 19/08/2012 16:29

Loup - can't wait to hear how it goes. Hope next two weeks (and any extra days!) go well. I so enjoyed my last few weeks, knowing I would never have that amount of "rest time" again Grin - and I was so right... 6 months and no lie in yet! But it is all worth it Grin

KnackeredCow · 22/08/2012 10:45

Hi All.

Lost thread for a bit too!

Loup wow only two weeks left for you. You must be so excited about meeting your LO

Congratulations SBC Grin. Fabulous news! I am slightly behind you (12 weeks today) but due around the same time as twins. If I don't spontaneously go into labour I'll most likely be induced around 37-38 weeks. My pg is an IVF one too.

Keziah nice to see you're enjoying maternity leave. Like you I'm going to ask to go back part-time too I think. Loving your Olympic name change!

Kitty good luck on the job hunting front. Are you going to look for something similar to what you did before or take the opportunity for a career change?

Storm how are you doing? I'm so sorry to hear you had to go through the loss of your pregnancy, but it's great to see how positive you are. Wishing you the very best for TTC.

Is Boba still around?

AFM it's my 12 week scan this afternoon. And in a bit of a state about it. Feeling quite emotional. There's five of us in my department and three pregnant, but sadly one of my staff lost her baby yesterday at 16 + 1 following a number of abnormalities found at her 12 week scan including a chromosomal disorder that wasn't compatible with life. I feel so sad for her Sad. So I'm in a bit of a state about this afternoon's scan. I am sure it will be OK but it doesn't stop the worrying.

Am off work this week too. Am exhausted and feeling so tired, dizzy, faint and headachy all the time. Have no energy - feel breathless getting up a single flight of stairs Blush. GP says blood pressure fine so not sure whether I'm just having a rough time as it's a multiple pregnancy or if I'm anaemic. Has suggested rest this week and reduced hours at work when I go back. Will have a full blood count done this afternoon so should know more then. Have been off since Monday and have slept and slept and slept. Feeling guilty about the ridiculous time I've had off sick over past year. 2 weeks for lap, 1 week for very early m/c following IVF %231, 2 days for mild OHSS following IVF %23 2 then 2.5 weeks as felt so low after second failure and cried all the time and now this week Sad plus had one day two weeks ago as nausea awful and had to leave work early twice last week due to headaches and dizziness. Did anyone else have a rough time during pregnancy?

Hoophopes · 22/08/2012 13:31

Hi KC - hope it goes well for you, the scan - do let us know!! Grin. I found I was shattered with pregnancy around weeks 10-16, so it may just be being pregnant that is the issue as the babies growing takes so much out of you! I did reduced hours after 16 weeks, work are used to it for pregnancy and with you being twin pregnancy I would assume you wouldn't work till EDD anyway!!

I found holidays regularly in pregnancy helped and reduced hours as felt ill on and off all pregnancy sadly. Though did get better until 30 weeks, then just felt huge. Best advice I got was to snack regularly - so I had a biscuit or two between meals, which really helped stopped the nausea and kept my sugar levels up!1 The dietician told me that, so I did what she said!!

StormBird · 22/08/2012 13:32

Hi Ladies,

KC good luck for today hun, I have everything crossed that it all goes well for you. Sending you lots of positive vibes.

SBC Hello Lady, long time no speak!!! Fabulous news about your pregnancy, huge cngratulations.

Keziah it took me ages to work out that was you!! LOL

Kitty well done with the weight loss, I've just joined weight watchers. I've gotta lose 2 stone to get to my first goal weight. I hope i can be a disciplined as you.

Well we are officially NOT TTC - that plan fell on it's face when DP announced that he wasn;t ready and I have to take that on the chin and accept it and he is probably doing me a favour i all fairness. I still live in hope that he will change his mind soon enough.

KnackeredCow · 22/08/2012 20:53

Phew - am so relieved! NT measurements fell within normal range for both twins. Fingers crossed things continue well.

Keziah glad it's normal to feel so rough. Consultant today said much the same as you. Told me to rest and reduced hours a good idea especially as multiple pregnancy and not to worry about work for now. So back to GP on Tuesday for a "fit" note recommending reduced hours until I (hopefully) start to feel a bit better.

Storm sorry to hear your TTC plans are on hold. I am sure your DP will be happy to try again soon, but although frustrating definitely important to wait until you're both ready. Hope you're doing OK?

StormBird · 22/08/2012 21:23

KC so pleased the scan went well hun, really pleased for you. xxx

I'm fine, just plodding along but feel quite contented with my life at the moment which is probably why I'm hadling DP's reluctancy to TTC so well - I'm surprising myself

Hoophopes · 23/08/2012 18:44

KC - glad scan went well for you. When pregnant, absence from work can't count against absence policies and I certainly found that at any slight concern from me that the Gp and Consultant recommended reduced hours. I know the twin mummy in my NCT group started maternity leave around 30 weeks due to having to stand up (as a teacher). You can do reduced hours and claim full pay when pregnant in your job until 36 weeks by law - after 36 weeks if on reduced hours you have to start maternity leave, so I just set my maternity leave at 36 weeks and then if needed to could stop before! Lots of rest, snacks and early nights for you KC. When do you next have a scan or consultant appointment? Guess you are consultant led due to twin pregnancy?

Storm sorry dh not feeling ready to ttc, hope in time things will change.

I (Sorry - am Keziah!) am enjoying mother hood but my dm's sudden death has made things hard and my mood has dropped low -offered antidepressants but I don't feel they will change anything, as life is just tough right now. Having to do all the admin, house sorting etc so hard to grieve and ds is at that delightful stage of rolling and exploring and feeling so proud of himself!

StormBird · 18/09/2012 13:15

Keziah How are you doing?? Sorry you are feeling so low I hope DS is managing to keep you buoyant somewhat.

KC How's things with the pregnancy?

To anyone else, hello

this thread has been quiet for a wee while, is anyone out there????????????
