Hi ladies!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, i periodically come on hoping to see good news from KC and then i have to run away and rescue things from sam (dvd player, electrical cables, all the exciting things he gets into).

Sams now 9 months and doing great. hes not showing any signs of walking yet but happily crawling around. im most shocked that he is saying 'mama' and 'dada' in context now, and a lot of babababa at things in general along with a wide variety of squawks, shrieks, babbles and imitation! im off to soft play shortly which is becoming more of a regular feature in our lives!

congratulations to storm on the pregnancy, how lovely! will you find out what you are having?

hows everyone else getting along? hows little david doing? and i bet zach is a handful like sam?

good luck lychees i think you said you are having a scan to see whether you need a C? having had an awful V i would say dont feel bad about it....im going to a colorectal specialist tomorrow to see whether they can do anything to sort out the mess down there. yuch.

i have also made a very unepxected decision, to not work for now. it was the choice between working full time, or cutting back on a few luxuries and living modestly (ok, a life without shoes and bags......eeeeek) and being with him, versus a stressful time trying tobalance career and family. i will probably do some freelance work at some point reasonably soon, but for now, here i am, growing my veggies, baking bread, and hanging out with my lovely boy!!!

Angelgirl79 · 12/06/2012 16:35

Hello everyone - I dont know if you will remember me. I certainly recognise some of the names. Huge congrats to all the new arrivals. Boba, Storm and Kezia!!

My little boy will be 18 months old this month and following a MC last year we have been ttc number 2 for some time now so time to buy another CBFM (I gave my last one to a friend) - Any chance I can join you guys again for all the madness x

Angelgirl79 · 12/06/2012 16:37

OOh just saw Lychees news too - congrats and good luck for the scan. As Kitty says a V can be a nightmare too - I had to be restitched....not the most pleasant of experiences lol as I seemed to have regained all the dignity Id lost in labour by then so was mortified ha ha x

Loup23 · 15/06/2012 10:00

Good luck KC hope that this month is yours.

Lovely to read of all these babies and how well they're doing - kitty great news about not returning to work, I am dreading that day and haven't even started my maternity leave yet. Am so looking forward to a year off so I can concentrate on being a mum!

I am now 29 weeks and just 77 days to go (well if it's "on time"). Very excited but nervous!

Thanks for the info lychees, I have another scan at 33 weeks to check the placenta but the baby still feels quite low so will have to see. I like the idea of having a go at natural birth but to be honest it scares the life out of me too Shock! Not long for you now lychees!

Congratulations to stormbird lovely news! I'd love for no 2 to be conceived without the stress of peeing on a stick all the bloomin time so fingers crossed that should we try again that will also happen to us!

Good luck angel with baby no 2!

Have lovely weekend all xx

Lychees · 16/06/2012 17:37

Storm congrats on your pregnancy! Completely missed your announcement from your post. Wishing ou a h&h 9 months.

Angel, I hope you get that BFP soon.

Just a quick update from me; my placenta has moved out of the way, baby is now head down and engaged! So we have a chance of trying for a vaginal birth. As my placenta is still low, I have to go straight to the labour ward at any sign of labour and I have an extra scan in two weeks but apart from that, we just wait for nature to takes it's course. I also had a fairly tough vaginal birth with my son who is now four but I'm hoping it will be quicker and easier with #2 and I've been told that when you've been through it once, your body is better at giving birth ... I'm really wishing that this is the case for me.

Keep well all.

Lychees

Loup23 · 17/06/2012 09:07

Yay good luck lychees keep us posted Grin

Keziahhopes · 17/06/2012 14:25

Lychees that is great news!

My little baby "made" a Father's Day card today - can't believe have a baby after this time last year, when ivf failed and had a stroke .... wow! Still doesn't feel real.

StormBird · 18/06/2012 13:28

Thanks everyone for the congrats.

Ilovekitty Yes we will be finding out the sex again, I just can't not LOL! I'm very envious that you are able to stay home with your boy for a bit longer. I wish I could be with mine full time but needs must and all that. Enjoy it hun.

Lychees I'm really looking forward to reading your announcement. Good luck with everything.

Keziah after everything you have been through I am in awe of how incredibly strong you are and you should feel so proud (and i am sure that you do) of that little baby. I hope your DH's first father day was one to remember.

Hi Angelgirl and welcome back. I wish you the best of luck with your TTC journey.

11+1 at the moment. I had my booking in on Friday and was there for bloody ages. They tried to take blood out of my left arm 3x and right one twice until they sent me up to pathology where I was met by a lovely nurse who went mental cos of the mess they made of my arms! My 12 week scan is booked for the 29th so I'm focusing on this date and as ever I am High Risk. Fingers crossed that the combined Nuchal & Bloods don't decide to come out bad like last time. A bit worries about this.

Hope everyone is well xxxx

Storm - just think, tonight you could feel very reassured (probably not much help now, I know). Let us know how it goes - will make sure I check this thread to find out.

StormBird · 29/06/2012 12:52

Not good news ladies. Annencephaly again as with our first PG. Will Terminate in the next week. Very sad xx

Keziahhopes · 29/06/2012 20:52

So sorry to hear that storm

KnackeredCow · 30/06/2012 15:29

storm I am so very, very sorry to read your awful news. Really saddened and thinking of you at this time. Sad

Lychees and Loup how exciting that it's nearly time to welcome you new arrivals to the world. Wishing you both the best for your impending births - hope they both go well.

Boba Cannot believe your mat leave has come to it's end already, but glad to hear you're enjoying being back.

Keziah Wow - three months already! I knew you'd make a fantastic mum. It was such a long journey for you.

Kitty Enjoy your career break! Hope the appointment with the specialist went OK. Sounds like you had a really traumatic birth.

I am so sorry I disappeared. Things went manic. FiL has been really quite ill. His tumour keeps bleeding profusely and he's been in and out of hospital. The prognosis isn't great - the chance of curative treatment is negligible - but DH and I are trying to make the most of the time left. We're hoping FiL might be well enough soon to undergo some chemo, which could definitely prolong life.

DH and I had a well deserved holiday in May and completely unwound. We needed it. We've sold our house too, and bought somewhere with more space and a decent sized garden. We exchanged contracts last week and move on Thursday. We're doing it the easy way though and we're getting the removal company to do all the packing too!

Oh - and the other wee bit of news is that I'm 4+3 today Grin. We've just finished our third fresh IVF cycle. We made 2 top quality blastocysts and had both transferred, and we made 2 reasonable quality ones for the freezer! I actually tested positive on a HPT at 3+3, which is very early.

Clinic confirmed my beta HCG levels on Wednesday and they were 167 (they were only 72 after our first cycle) which gives a 90% probability of a viable pregnancy. I had them retested on Friday because I'd had some bleeding, which has now stopped thankfully. Possibly an implantation bleed. HCG level came back at 273. My clinic looks for it doubling every 48 - 72 hours. It's a little on the slow side, but within range and a good level for 16dpo. They were reassuring and have told me to try not to worry and have said I also have to remember I had two embryos put back. If they both initially implanted and then one failed but the other one carried on you'd expect to see a high first HCG that slows a bit. I go back on Wednesday for a repeat. I'll be one very happy lady if my beta comes in at over 1,000! FX Smile

Keziahhopes · 30/06/2012 18:30

Huge congrats KC - have been looking out for news Grin Gosh 2 in the freezer too, that is amazing! 2 put back sounds exciting .... do let us know that beta number now next week. Great that you have a house and garden ready for your family, moving can be stressful so getting it all packed sounds very wise!! Each day and week the odds improve.... fx for you xxx

boba82 · 30/06/2012 20:09

Storm so sorry about your news Sad Thinking of you x

To everyone else I will try make more of an effort to catch up soon - being back at work & Z turning into a little monster = no time for myself!!!

KC huge congrats Grin we told you your time would come!! Here's to a H&H 9 months for you x

Loup23 · 30/06/2012 23:30

So sorry to read your news Storm sending lots of virtual hugs Sad

Congratulations KC fantastic news, will be checking in to see those hcg levels rise Wink

Waves to all others and sorry not to name check. Think I underestimated the toll pregnancy takes, did housework all day and ache all over!

StormBird · 01/07/2012 05:32

Thank you ladies........having a bit of emotional termoil at the moment as the consultant said I was too far gone for a Surgical Termination and will be induced and give birth on Wednesday - I don't know how I will cope with this!! If only we had planned this PG, if only I was taking my high strength Folic Acid - this wouldn't have happened. It pains me to think like this but it is the truth. In my heart, I knew! I've already started to think about getting my CBFM out and make sure the battery is OK - don't worry though we won't be rushing into anything (slightly worried that obsession will now take over)

FABULOUS news from KC - huge congrats to you hun, you must be over the moon. FX your HCG levels rise as they should. I'll be watching for your updates.

Oh Storm I'm so sorry that you're going through this. It must be truly awful and I don't know what to say to you except please try not to blame yourself. Perhaps taking folic acid may have helped, but it's also probable that it may not have. Taking it reduces risk, but sadly doesn't eliminate it. You weren't TTC when you fell pregnant any woman could be in your situation. You've been incredibly unlucky and it's just not fair that this has happened, but it isn't your fault. I'll be thinking of you this week. x

Lychees · 03/07/2012 10:23

Stormbird, I'm so sorry about your news. Please do not blame yourself. Unfortunately and very sadly these things just happen. Sending you best wishes and strength to move forwards.

KC, congrats. I hope you have a healthy and happy pregnancy, no more bleeds and no more worries about Hcg levels.

I also have some news. Our baby girl arrived on 28th June (nearly two weeks early) via emergency c-section weighing in at 7lb 4oz. She is doing really well and I am making a good recovery.

Keziahhopes · 03/07/2012 11:00

Storm - echoes others, please try not to blame yourself. Hope procedure goes as well as it can do.

Lychees congratulations on birth of your baby girl. Glad you making a good recovery - enjoy everyone else doing everything for you so you are fit and strong when they have all disappeared! Good weight! Do you have a name/s?

My little ds is now 4mths old, weighs over 1st and is beginning to recover from his reflux. Next big test will be how he copes with weaning - his reflux will either disappear or continue for next few months at least. It is still there, I am getting used to washing lots of things every day (our sheet, mattress cover and pillowcases today!) and am having to buy more clothes for him as he gets through them at an alarming rate. Oh well, like buying his clothes (but shame they are not as pretty as little girl clothes!!)

Loup23 · 03/07/2012 14:15

Congratulations lychees lovely news, hope you are recovering well!

Sending big hugs storm, do not blame yourself, I know it's hard not too...

Wow 4 months already Keziah good luck with the weaning, I have all of this to come...!

8+4 left to go.....

KnackeredCow · 05/07/2012 04:36

Congratulations Lychees that's wonderful news. Glad both you and your dd are doing well.

loup not long for you now! I bet you can't wait.

Keziah glad to hear your DS's reflux is improving.

Well my beta HCG came back at 3,169, which is pretty high, and I'm booked in for a scan on 19 July when i'll be 7+1! Crossing everything for that - my HCG levels indicate it's possible I've got twins in there Shock

Keziahhopes · 05/07/2012 09:48

Great news there KC - fantastic numbers. Enjoy that first scan! I had such high numbers at 5 weeks in my only beta HCG that I had they said I might have twins, such that we went out and had a private scan before the IVF clinic's private scan as it were - and at 6+0 weeks saw it was only one! In fact the sonographer said it was so small that it couldn't be 6 weeks, only 5 weeks - confirmed by NHS moving my dates at 12 week dating scan!! Let us know how that scan goes. Any symptoms yet?? Grin

boba82 · 06/07/2012 15:52

Storm x x

Lychees Congratulations! Thanks What is her name? Glad you are all well. x

Loup not long now, enjoy those baby free days!!

KC glad you have a nice high number. How would you feel about twins?
