Best of luck for the week ahead KC

Kitty I know newborns are a huge shock to the system but thought she would have popped on to let us all know. Hope she's no too poorly after the birth. Z is a very big boy who is loving his food. He actually cries when his meals are finished! How are you and S?

Ilovekittyelise · 04/03/2012 19:49

similar boba - he cries if i try to eat anything before him (which occasionally happens being diabetic!). i've just started with bits of baby pasta and made tomato sauce with onion, garlic etc; tomorrow im going to add some poached salmon to his favourite cheesy creamy leek and potato mulch - god he loves his food, he will eat anything!

i also hope k is ok...if her induction has been anything like mine (long, unpleasant), she may just be wanting a bit of quiet time. i hope so. i dont know if she has been active on any other threads im not sure how to find that out. I sent her a PM but havent heard anything.

kc im trying not to get too excited on your behalf but already this year iv had quite a bit of good news from a couple of friends who have various TTC difficulties and am starting to feel that its the year for it xxx

boba82 · 05/03/2012 10:27

Nah I searched last night but no sign of her anywhere. KEZIAH WHERE ARE YOU????? Grin

Keziahhopes · 06/03/2012 16:12

Hi - sorry for disappearing, but think I win the prize for longest stay on labour ward ever with 5 nights there!! 2 failed inductions, although labour began each time it stopped. Then waters broke naturally so labour began, then long labour resulting in an emergency c-section and the birth of our beautiful baby David, 7lb 15oz. Had to stay in a while due to me needing general anaesethic, plus baby lost too much weight by day 3, with urates in urine, so feeding was a nightmare - and still is in that my milk was very delayed, still very reduced so doing breastfeeding and bottle feeding together..

Tried to log in on phone twice, but it failed to allow me - grrr...... So laptop now set up downstairs, baby asleep (phew!), DH gone shopping for more cartons of formula and a heater so we don't have to heat whole house at night, but just our room as he likes it rather warm after so long in hospital!!!

Hope things go well for you KC.

So, Keziah is a very proud Mummy of a baby boy, David, 7lb 15oz on 27th February. Smile - isn't it amazing??!!!

Ilovekittyelise · 06/03/2012 16:22

huge congratulations on your adorable son, so glad you are all home safe and sound. time passes SOOOOOOOO slowly during that ridiculous induction process.....

Keziahhopes · 06/03/2012 16:22

KC - 6 embryos is amazing, great you could have 2 blasts put back!! Will look forward to finding out how it goes for you. Were any able to be frozen?

ILoveKitty and Boba - agree inductions are awful. I went in Wed and had baby Mon pm. The syntocin drip was horrible, being turned up in strength every half-hour. Actually got to experience waters breaking naturally but still needed the drip, plus after long labour and a back to back baby who started getting distressed after 4 days or so of contractions etc they decided to act quickly when they decided to do the EMCS!

Lychees wow, a baby girl - how amazing to have one of each. Hope all continues well.

Thank you ALL for all your support, especially over the 3rd trimester with all my wobbles. So far I have convinced everyone I am ok and baby ok Smile, which I knew I would be otherwise would not have tried for a child - agree ILoveKitty misdiagnosis is awful - that will be my next battle this year, now we have our much wanted baby (couldn't cope with that and pregnancy this past year!!). Only advantage of 5 days on labour ward is I didn't get distressed or cry once, and every midwife was amazed at how I coped - so hope to use that as evidence if ever need it!!

Oh - our son has red hair presently - which is a massive shock to us as we have blond/brown hair!! Wonder if it will change Grin!!

boba82 · 07/03/2012 20:51

Well done keziah Grin I bet you can't believe he's finally here safe & sound?! Enjoy every newborn minute!!!

Was wondering about choccie & storm? Maybe they got a life unlike us Grin x x

boba82 · 07/03/2012 20:52

Best of luck for tomo KC. Will you get results tomorrow too? x

KnackeredCow · 08/03/2012 13:29

Congratulations Keziah on the birth of baby David. I am absolutely thrilled for you Grin. Well done you!

Sadly, I started to bleed on Tuesday, and that bleeding has progressed it's really heavy now. I still had to go to ACU for blood test this morning, but I know what the result will be. Feel really, really low. That's our third cycle of fertility treatment failed. I just don't think I'm ever going to be a mummy. Sad

Ilovekittyelise · 08/03/2012 15:16

so so sorry kc xxxxxxxxxx

KnackeredCow · 08/03/2012 16:22

Thank you Kitty. Blood tests came back completely negative. Not even a hint of implantation.

Have had a chat with clinic. They normally wouldn't undertake further investigations until after three failed attempts at IVF, but because we've lost 4 blastocysts now (1 early m/c; 1 failed thaw and 1 failed DBT) they have said that this is unusual and therefore are willing to refer us for further investigations before attempting another cycle. Hopefully they won't find anything, but I'd rather go into a subsequent round reassured that there is nothing wrong. The tests will cost because we haven't had three failed fresh cycles, but I'd rather pay this out before forking out on another hugely expensive round of IVF, which could fail all for the want of something simple that hadn't been identified.

Keziahhopes · 08/03/2012 22:01

So sorry KC. However, so glad that the are prepared to refer you for further investigations as you are right testing is much cheaper than IVF cycle. After our failed IVF ICSI cycle we chose to do level 1 and level 2 immune testing (note Gp's may well fund part/most of level 1 immunes which are part of recurrent miscarriage tests also cycle if you are funding all tests as ours did, saving us about £500 or so) and it was there we found our answers. Not saying that is right for everyone, but a few extra medications can make all the difference -as our problem was implantation issues that the medications treated (aspirin was one key drug for us for instance with the bfp!) Know there are other tests, such as chromosome testing, but have no experience of those.

KC I know it is hard as I now am a Mummy, but after 6 years of ttc I never thought I would be and after 7 years we were (ivf, tests, medications etc involved in final year!) ... so it can happen!! But I do remember those very hard, dark low times. And leaving maternity ward was hard, with every well meaning midwife asking when they would see us again (grrr...!!!) xxx

boba82 · 08/03/2012 22:50

So sorry KC Sad x x x

Loup23 · 09/03/2012 11:46

Congratulations keziah fabulous news!

So sorry to hear your news KC hope the tests help you.

14+6 today and all seems to be ok x

Lychees · 11/03/2012 21:53

Keziah, many congrats!

KC, so sorry about your news. We were unexplained for a long time but we thought we should try and rule out as much as we could before starting IVF so I also had immunes testing and was treated for raised natural killer cells before and during this pregnancy as well as being told to take baby aspirin just in case. Wishing you all the best.

Keziahhopes · 12/03/2012 10:34

Glad all well Loup how exciting for you (says Kezzie missing her bump!!)

KnackeredCow · 12/03/2012 15:38

Thank you for all being so kind Thanks

Still feeling very low, but we've got our review appointment on Thursday. Keziah and Lychees, clinic did mention the tests that you've both had so I guess that's the next step before our third cycle Sad

Loup Really glad to hear that things are going well for you.

Keziahhopes · 12/03/2012 21:39

KC I found that I got low quite a lot in my own ttc journey, but hope that you can see the tests they suggesting as a positive step. Bizarrely for us finding issues raised by those tests gave us renewed hope - that we had found the problem, that it could be treated etc. So hope you can see tests as positive.. It is encouraging to hear them suggesting them before you asked, or 3 cycles - as my clinic which was very pro-immune testing told us to do 3 cycles before we paid for the tests (we ignored them and asked for tests which they agreed to as we were paying ultimately!!)

boba82 · 13/03/2012 19:37

How's motherhood treating you keziah?

KC I too reached some very low points. I agree with keziah in that once they'd found problem I felt we could work at it, something to focus on etc. Hope the tests get you some answers. x

loup glad all is well. I think I must have missed your BFP announcement? Or baby brain has forgotten it!!

Keziahhopes · 13/03/2012 21:04

Boba loving it, although sometimes I have to remind myself ds is really here and it is real! not loving the reflux so much - nor the 3hr wait at A+E last night when he choked and wheezed for hours due to it! Have infant gaviscon to try now.

boba82 · 14/03/2012 18:11

Oh we had that keziah but it just made him constipated Sad I remember the long frustrating nights when he wouldn't settle due to it but it did get better & he's fine now Smile x x

Keziahhopes · 14/03/2012 20:44

Glad to hear ds improved - the nights are indeed the worst. After one dose of gaviscon the screaming was worse so we are not going to use it tonight! I can empathise with him, I had reflux in latter months of pregnancy - but my cure of palma violets is not much use to him Grin

boba82 · 18/03/2012 09:07

I know I'd started to believe I'd never be a mum so I feel especially blessed this morning & I know you all feel the same. Happy Mothers Day ladies! Grin

Harry2007 · 20/03/2012 13:08

Hi to all those who remember me!!!!!

I do log in every now and again to check up on you Grin

Soooo, just wanted to say massive congrats to Keziah xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

boba82 · 20/03/2012 22:55

Hi Harry Wow I actually can't believe he will be one already! Saying that Zach is 6 months on Thursday!! Glad you're well Smile x x
