Waves at Harry - wow, 1 year old!

chocciechip · 27/03/2012 20:56

Hi ladies

Remember me? I remember all of you!

I haven't read the thread fully because I have no time at all, but skimmed the top page wanting to start trying to touch base with you all again. KC, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Keziah, I am blown away that you have your little baby at last after your long long journey. Get yourself a few phone books to securely raise the head of the moses basket (like 30 degrees). Apparently this helps with reflux and wind.

Will try read through properly in coming days and lurk in the meanwhile.

x

boba82 · 31/03/2012 13:23

Hi choccie! How are you & little one doing? x

Loup23 · 05/04/2012 08:14

Hi all, still check in here to see how all babies are doing. My 20 week scan is today can't believe I'm nearly half way Grin hope you are all well x

boba82 · 05/04/2012 16:03

Good luck Loup, hope all was well with bean?! Smile Did you find out what flavour it was? x

Loup23 · 08/04/2012 09:29

Hi boba hope you and Zach are doing well?! 6 months already - wow!

All was well at the scan thanks, am 19 +1 so a bit early and they want to scan at 34 weeks to check low lying placenta.....? But otherwise all good.

We didn't find out whether boy or girl but so curious to know, I remember the CBFM stats were divided into boy/girl and there were a lot more boys....

Happy Easter all x

Keziahhopes · 08/04/2012 17:54

Hi Chocciechip definitely remember you... how are you all doing?

Loup glad all is well with your scan and great you get another check nearer the time! I had my 20 week scan early at 19 weeks too and got a later one and all was ok, so hope yours is too.

Well ds 6 weeks old now, wow!! Sleep is getting better, but reflux means that he keeps being sick so my washing machine is working overtime still. Medicine is making some difference.

Happy Easter to all - gosh, next Easter some babies can actually have chocolate [busmile] x

boba82 · 09/04/2012 19:30

Glad all is well Loup It's nice to have a surprise, we didn't find out but I felt so strongly I was having a boy from day one. Do you have a feeling?

Keziah Glad you're both doing well and things getting a bit easier for you.

I'm exhausted all the time - Z is never still - sitting up, rolling, quadruple rolls!! God help me when he's walking!!! Grin Wine

Hi everyone. Just popping on.

DH and I booked in to try a third IVF round in June. It's really got to work this time.

FiL has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer (at least that's what they think). If it is that, then the prognosis isn't great. Really, really need the IVF to work this time. Although a successful pregnancy would be bitter-sweet, I think it would make the future look a lot less bleak for us at the moment.

We've decided to go straight for another round of IVF rather than immune testing and further investigations as we were told it's unlikely they would show anything (I did get a BFP the first cycle - it just didn't stick) and it would delay doing another round of IVF considerably. Given the predicament we're in, we're not sure we've got time on our side so we want to go again as soon as possible.

So sorry for me, me, me post. Head is spinning at the moment!

Hope everyone is well and sorry for being rude and not name-checking.

Keziahhopes · 26/04/2012 14:57

Waves to everyone!!

loup how exciting to be over halfway. I so remember getting to that stage, now I have a 2month old little boy, wow!

KC glad you got that cycle booked and know what you are doing with it. So sorry to hear about FiL diagnosis. It is hard when family members so ill (I know I felt so guilty the great grandparetns never got to be great grandparents). Hope you can focus on cycle and the preparations go well for it. Looking forward to hearing how many embies you make and fingers crossed for at least one sticky one!

Boba - it is exhausting now, no mind about with an active baby Grin. DS has reflux, which is causing lots of problems. Managed to get weight up to 25th centile, basically by replacing every feed he really throws up... but can't maintain that, so Health visitor said to stop doing that and monitor weight once a week for next two weeks (was going fortnightly as that is when clinic on) by going to a different clinic next week to get weighed. Problem is baby ds now thinks he is being starved and crying even more. Sending DH to dr's with him this week, as fed up of gp seeing a sleepy baby (pram walking there sends him to sleep) and not being believed!!

Ilovekittyelise · 28/04/2012 21:52

Hi ladies,

I've not been on or posted in ages. Sams almost 8 months old and getting himself moving now....also very demanding and gets very pissy if you leave him to go the loo etc, gone are the days of him playing contentedly on his own, mummy now has to join in with everything.

kc really sorry to hear potentially awful news, i really really hope the ivf works but i hope you arent putting even more pressure on yourself because of everything. am thinking of you anyway.

kez, sorry to hear about hellish reflux. we never had that but now seem to have some vomiting issues with solid food and starting to wonder whats going on. no-one seems concerned as like you, replacing all that is lost, but theres definitely something not quite right.

loup well done the finish line is almost in sight!

everyone - should we set up some kind of postnatal thread seeing as thats where most of us are? im not trying to exclude KC, loup, etc, but most of us that partake are postnatal so its kind of majority? no worries if not a popular idea just a suggestion xxx

Keziahhopes · 28/04/2012 22:03

Ilovekitty yes, yes, yes, to postnatal thread as a follow -on. Can keep this one also, but would love to hear how you are getting on with your active little ones!!

Ilovekitty sorry vomitting issues for you.. could that be reflux possibly? There is something called silent reflux. I sent DH to dr's in the end, saw a new gp who phoned Health Visitor and in the end they said buy a different formula (enfamil or something like that) that had to order in at the chemist. More expense obviously! I mix feed as never had enough breastmilk and have to give him infant gaviscon 6 times a day in a bottle after a breastfeed anyway so will see if this helps. It is the formula at night he throws up more of.

Ilovekittyelise · 30/04/2012 06:48

Hi Kez,

Def not reflux as wasnt a problem when he was just on formula, and its been a struggle to get any down him since solids; he has very little now. we think its more likely food intolerance. its not been any particular time just after all meals. my thought is dairy as theres always some degree of milk or butter or cheese in his food (to start with to add calories to purees as he was drinking so little formula, but now, because i am raising him vegetarian until hes old enough to understand what he chooses to eat) going to give it today and see if any teeth appear to explain recent bout, then get him off to the doctor (groan). urgh.

so tired, couldnt sleep last night, want sam to wake up so i have something to do!

will get on and set up thread later x

hope everyone ok this not-quite-as-foul as it has been monday!

Loup23 · 30/04/2012 11:37

Morning all, glad to hear you are all doing well (leaving aside reflux/seperation issues etc!). Can't believe your bouncing babies are growing up so quickly!

22+2 and wishing the next 17+5 weeks away! Feel free to set up a new post natal thread and hopefully I will be along there soon to join you for some advice (Fx KC will be there too and others)! x

boba82 · 01/05/2012 20:43

KC sorry to hear your bad news, I hope this is a lucky cycle for you.

keziah gosh 2 months already! Z had touch reflux but grew out of it around 8 weeks so hopefully your DS will too.

ilovekitty Z 7 months & also getting very demanding! Think that is little boys for you!

loup God your pregnancy seems to be rushing in (bet it doesn't feel like that for you though!) I hope the last few months go quickly for you but please enjoy them whilst you can - babies are bloody knackering!!

We're getting on fine. I am back to work next week Shock I feel bit mixed about it to be honest. I don't want to leave Z but I do feel frustrated at the end of some days so maybe being out of house will help. I am only going back part time so should be alright Hmm I did the sums & unfortunately we just can't afford for me not to work. I run my family business so have a certain amount of flexibility regarding hours etc. Please tell me I'm silly for feeling like this....
Just don't want to miss any firsts!!!

Boba how has it gone going back to work?

boba82 · 19/05/2012 22:48

Hi keziah. It's actually been really good Grin So nice having time to be me again & not pining as I thought I would be. Defo best thing for my wee family - feel like I'm getting best of both. Although it is hard getting out the door in the mornings. How are you doing? Is baby David's reflux any better? x

Keziahhopes · 21/05/2012 16:06

boba glad work gone well and better than you thought it might be.

Baby ds's reflux is no worse, medication changes have helped. Main issue is he will not go flat on his back until absolutely exhausted at night - so will only sleep when held or when moving in the day. Managed 15 minutes sleep so far today. I have tried leaving him to cry, self-settle and all he does is scream for hours! Trying cranial osteopath now - he slept amazingly the night he went, but it doesn't seem to make much differnce in the days.

Wonders how everyone else is. Can't believe people already finishing maternity leave - wow!

And should be news soon of our last baby on this thread??

boba82 · 03/06/2012 22:08

Hope everyone and their little ones are doing well? Would love to hear how you're all getting on. x

StormBird · 11/06/2012 13:13

Keziah MASSIVE congratulations to you on the birth of David (if a little late).

Hi everyone - not sure if you guys remember me or not....

I've been AWOL for sometime now, what with motherhood and returning to work when George was just 6 months, things have been superdooper hectic in the StormBird household.

I've caught up a little bit with the thread.....

Loup it's lovely to see that you must now be more than half way there. I bet you are excited....

KC Sorry to hear about you FIL hun. All the best with the next round of IVF, I shall be keeping up with the thread more often from now on I hope and will be routing for you.

Hi to Ilovekitty boba and anyone else I haven't name checked.

Quick update on my George - he's 6 weeks away from being 1. Can you believe it?!?! Cos I can't! He's walking round the furniture and is now confident enough to stand on his own (not walking walking yet though) and he's saying Mummy and Daddy, Baby, Nannie and Georgie, which is very cute (but not a 3am). He's a little star - if not a bad tempered little star at times but I love being his Mum.

Setting up a Post Natal thread is a lovely idea and I'd be there if you'll have me. Although I would be tooing and froing alot cos.........I'm 10 weeks pregnant!! Not planned this time either it was a complete shocker. So I'm probably not even eligible to be here really as I didn't use the CBFM but hey ho.

Will you have me back? I'm feeling a bit lost without my CBFM buddies to guide me through Blush

Oh Storm how exciting - massive congratulations to you on number 2! Hope all goes well for you. Can't wait to here how it goes, and can't believe George is almost 1. My little boy is 3 months now - gurgling away, smiling (when not beign sick with reflux!!)

Loup hope all is going well for you... keep peeking for announcement (not sure when due and my brain is mush.

Boba hope work going well for you and baby son enjoying new routine.

Ilovekitty hope all well with you.

KC realised it is June so hope your IVF treatment starting well for you .

Lychees · 12/06/2012 08:33

Good luck this month, KC!

Lovely to read about all the adventures of the new babies.

I'm now 36 weeks and have a scan on Thursday to determine if I need a c-section. Loup, I had a low-lying placenta at 20 weeks and had a follow-up scan at 32 weeks to check this. In the vast majority of cases, the placenta would have moved up in this time, however mine was found to be covering my cervix by 3cm (placenta previa) and baby was breech. So if this is still the case, then I could be having a planned c-section by 38-39 weeks. Nerve-wracking (in regards to the surgery) but exciting at the same time.

Stay well, all.
