owlbooty · 02/03/2011 09:52

Are you okay today? Baybee is v.well protected, am sure it will not even have noticed. Plus as you say, arse is marvellous shock absorber. Hope all is well.

Lozza your mum sounds awesome and ESHlike Grin

rocketleaf · 02/03/2011 10:05

Thanks geegee glad you are feeling a bit better, let me rub some arnica on the sore bits. What do you mean you didn't land on your buzzwams? :o

Is strange as our cat is very rarely sick. And he was purring like a loon 30 seconds before so not sure what's going on. Prob troughed his food too quickly the greedy fecker or just punishing us for locking him out last night in vain attempt to get some sleep (didn't work)

Well I am up and feel a bit better for it. Sorry for being a whinge bag. Think I have a touch of the man flu :o

laurielou · 02/03/2011 10:37

feel like punched in the face - that's something to look forward to then. I'm hoping it remains as a sniffle............

Thanks for mum-praise. She is pretty ace!

LadyGoneGaga · 02/03/2011 11:13

Oh, and forgot to mention I wet myself this morning BlushShock. I sneezed and a bit of wee came out. Thankfully was still in jamas and at home. Need to get on the pelvic floor exercises, clearly. So glamorous this pregnancy business!

owlbooty · 02/03/2011 11:18

We is so classy in here, oh yes. GG I've done that at least once so far; tis a right horror.

I've got funny intermittant pokey possibly-muscle pain down one side above my hip. Is not internal, more on the outside if you see what I mean. Does not feel like ligaments, not quite in the right place for those.

Any suggestions or should I add it to my worry list?

rocket your mog is definitely punishing you. Ours regularly throws up to make a point, I'm convinced he's doing it on purpose.

LadyGoneGaga · 02/03/2011 11:36

Not sure Booty - probably stretchy muscle related . Keep an eye on it and mention to midwife. Actually is it you who goes to Differs pilates? Maybe mention it there too.

owlbooty · 02/03/2011 12:10

You are probably right, it is bound to be random muscles. Am not officially scheduled to see MW again til 28 weeks (useless GP appt at 25 apparently). As I am only 17 weeks that is supremely unhelpful.

Am half-considering going to her drop in session this Friday though for a cheeky doppler listening.

Perhaps the differs' pilates has actually caused it; we were doing some fairly hardcore hip mobilisation thingies on Monday night.

Scorpette · 02/03/2011 12:17

Big kisses and bum-rubs for poor old GG Sad It really is so scary but baybee will be well-cushioned, esp. as you fell on your bum. Remember, I fell flat on my back on the ice before Xmas and everything was fine. I know everyone's different, but a bum has considerably more padding than a back. The shook-up feeling is quite horrible though, isn't it? I hope you can take it easy and look after yourself today, as it is a shock. I rang my MW for reassurance; no shame in it if you're fretting

Rocketman, sorry to heer your lurgy continues unabated. Colds seem to last longer when diffed, don't they? Angry

Oooh, erm, ignore that last bit, Lozza Confused

I like the cut of your mum's gib, btw. I too think that if you can't use being pg for a bit of bullshitting then it's a sorry affair Grin

Bootylicious, I simpaffize with your hurty hip. My left one is a nightmare in bed... although that's probably due to me being the size of the QE2, not exercise-related.

Scorpette · 02/03/2011 12:21

Ooooh, am watching This Morning (SHURRUP!) and Denise Van Outen is on to give some really patronising tips on feeling fab when pg. I think the poor lamb almost got over 10 stone in weight by the end Angry

Oh, she had a great pregnancy and it's all because she followed proper guidelines from books. That's all you need to do to feel tip-top Hmm Hmm Hmm Why haven't I thought of that? Angry

Hmmm, Holly Dimbo Willoughby said earlier that she's been having pg migraines but they've sorted her out with medication. Would I be menkul to contact the programme and demand to know what she's taking?!

owlbooty · 02/03/2011 12:46

Frankly Scorpula given how poorly you've been, I'd think you'd be justified in personally stalking her and mugging her for her magic drucks.

10 stone? I am perpetually over 10 stone and never expect to see single figures again unless I get mild case of the ebola virus or similar ailment. Bah. Needless to say, SIL is not despite advanced stage of diffedness. Bah again.

Muser · 02/03/2011 13:48

Definitely mug her for magic drucks.

I just came here to be slushy. Manic feeding has suddenly calmed down here and now at the end of a feed Bob comes off with a satisfied grunt and bops her head onto my boob, smacks her lips and sleeps. For a few seconds anyway. I swear it makes my heart want to burst. And soon there will be more baybees here doing equally lovely things.

LGG hope you are feeling ok, falling while diffed is v scary. I tumbled and sobbed hysterically for ages.

rocketleaf · 02/03/2011 13:55

Stone schmone, bet you are gorgeous booty I laugh at the thought of ever seeing the other side of 10 stone again. Is probably the pilates thats caused you a bit of pain, but not sure i like the sound of GP at 25 weeks, whats that all about? Getting yerself to the drop in for a bit of sneaky doppler action sounds like a very good plan.

Ta score I don't know if the do last longer as this is the first one I've had, hence my ill advised boasting about 12 hours prior to this one hitting me. I realise I have been very lucky and need to HTFU, really good job I reorganise the training I was supposed to be doing tomorrow to next week or not sure what I woud have done! Poor girl would have ad me coughing all over her.

loz really hope yours is just a sniffle.

meds how is Operation Feed the World going? It all sounds lovely, so exciting about you measuring the right size and being 1/5 engaged!! Not long now!

rocketleaf · 02/03/2011 13:59

Ah muse x post. Bring on the slush, Bobkate sounds perfect!!

LadyGoneGaga · 02/03/2011 14:13

Aw, so cute, Muse. I love that newborn drunk on milk thing. Where they wear little drunken smilie faces and drift off to a contented sleep to dream of giant boobies. Can't wait. Only 20.5 more weeks!

Pah. Well I was at least 13 stone when had MiniG (stopped weighing myself in disgust several weeks prior). So FU DvO! Am almost 12 now alreadyBlush. Bovvered. Am sure Booty, Scorps and the rest of the crew are beauteous ladies with lovely curves and soft places for babies to snuggle into.

Score if you trawl Hello and Heat and other sleb offerings, surely at some point they will go into detail about Ms Willoughby's drucks regime?

Ivegotmrbitey · 02/03/2011 14:25

that's gorgeous muse slush away lovely!

I haz outed myself as a differ to work, all have been lovely especially new boss who was very philosophical and say "hey that's a life, even better it's a new a life".

Lots of people cried especially me. Have removed waterfall cardigan and am thinking about burning it Grin

How are you feeling now Gaga and boots?

milanomum · 02/03/2011 14:38

Bitey that's brilliant! It must be a weight off your mind

LGG how are you feeling? I'm sure baybee is well-protected and Friday's scan will show that.

muser I actually said 'awww' out loud at your message.

As for nappies, I used disposables with thechild but compensated a bit by donating to a local environmental charity. I don't have space for a tumble dryer so cloths are out of the question but would really like to try to reusables this time round. I'll def be using disposables for the first month or so though because it's just so runny and nothing kept it in the nappy like Pampers newborns. It's that or have endless changes of poo-stained baby-gros!

I am not sure what to do about mattress either - have thechild's which is still in good condition, but she used it for a year or so at least so now not sure what to do.

I am also suffering from differs' rage, at work in particular. I am a real pleasure to work with at the moment.

Scorpette · 02/03/2011 14:39

I am 29 wks today so not long until I'm snuffling and snuggling my lad Muse, is so gorg to read about your love for darling BobKate :) Is v uplifting and inspiring.

Will be stalking Willoughby for her drucks. Bitch better cough up. Perhaps hers are easier to treat as there's not much brain to be affected?

I've always been quite slim but piled on weight when TTC (filling myself up with a food baby through comfort eating) and of course being pg. Am bloody well hoping to be able to BF and that all its purported weight loss magic will be bestowed upon me. Oh yeah, and it's good for baybee too, blahblah.

I keep forgetting to do my pelvic floor exercises and now I keep finding it quite difficult to clench as well as I used to Confused Have just read that it's pg that buggers the pf, not giving birth, so am worried now. Could this be why I now constantly feel like I'm going to wet myself and have to go to the loo every 2 hours (maximum). Fuxache, when does it end? (Oh yeah... April/May. GULP!).

A question for those who've done/are doing NCT classes - is it worth taking out a year's membership or wot? Gotta cash up for our classes ASAP. And now we're staying put in our flat for a bit, are we stoopid to still do the classes in the area where we want to move to? I cannot make decisions any more - I practically have a breakdown choosing which pants to wear in the a.m.

Scorpette · 02/03/2011 15:09

Oooooh, good stuff about breaking the happy news at work, Bitey Grin

LadyGoneGaga · 02/03/2011 15:10

Don't bother with the membership, Score - you don't need it for anything. How far is the area? And when do you intend moving?

Fab news, Bitey - especially that your boss took it so well. What a nice man!

I'm feeling ok. Typically baybee is choosing to have a chilled day and not move about much which is not helpful. But I'm sure things will be ok.

Muser · 02/03/2011 15:37

Be warned Scorps, breastfeeding gives you an appetite to match the calories it burns.

Casserole · 02/03/2011 15:47

Hello differs. I am ill. Me and ministew both. Up most of night and feeling rough as badger's proverbial today - temp, sore throat, headache, cold type thing. And MrStew is working late tonight, too. Have only left bed today for more paracetamol and drinks.

Sickly deli today. Hope Rocket, Booty, Lolly and Gaga are all feeling better, and anyone else feeling poorly today I've missed.

muse such a sweet post about Bob, fanks. Needed to remember something good today Smile

LadyGoneGaga · 02/03/2011 15:49

Hot toddy for Stewpot also. Everyone into bed and I'll, ahem, minister to you. Are those PJ's a bit hot?

Scorpette · 02/03/2011 15:55

I'm just going to have to get a muumuu and flat cap like Homer Simpson did, aren't I? Sad Seriously, I am SO fucking bored of eating now.

GG, the area is nearly 30 mins away. And it'd be @Nov when we move. I know it sounds pathetic, but don't have a lot of pals around here and only one with a child (who has v different ideas on raising kids from me) and me & TYF would both like to make a few friends in a similar situation, although all of that is massively secondary to the info we'll get. The class held in our actual town is more geared towards young mums, so dunno if either the info or the people will be our 'sort of thing'. When we move, we will be living quite near Orchid Grin Won't join up - we're not big 'joiners' (contradicts own optimism about making pals).

Part of the quandry is not being arsed to travel every Saturday and TYF hates driving (I can't). But ooooh, we are getting a new car v soon. It was actually made this millennium (current car made in 96!)! It's a big estate and FIL helped TYF find it. He's been hinting that we need a massive boot as we'll 'obviously' be travelling down to see them more often. Erm, ex-squeeze me? If they think I'm travelling a 10-12hr round trip with a baybee (and to be ignored and unfed) every couple of months, they must be mad (oh... wait...).

Scorpette · 02/03/2011 15:57

Not only was my last post boring and long, I X-posted with poorly Cass. Really hope you and Ministew get well v soon, you poor thing.

LadyGoneGaga · 02/03/2011 16:01

Maybe do NCT in new place but go to various classes round where you are now to make friends in both places? Baby Yoga, Baby massage, Rythm time and the like all good for meeting like minded Mum's. Also just randomly chatting to people when taking baby to be weighed quite good - they often do a stay and play type session after weighing.

I found I needed some kind of activity most days to give me a bit of structure after the first few weeks and stop me feeling too housebound.

Our NCT was in derby in my brief time tehre and there were women from far South Derby to Wirksworth - so we generally met up at random cafes all over the place. Or city centre to trawl the shops en masse! (cliche, moi)

I need to try and make some friends with small babies without NCT this time, and with toddler in tow also...scary.
