I still don't get the PP thing .

Very excited - have gone home to let the boiler repair man in. Made me gyp a bit as he smells of fags but I still luffs him if he gets my boiler going.

rocketleaf · 25/02/2011 15:16

Speaking of shoes, where has owlpolypockets got to?

Good thing about me bitey is I rarely get down for very long.

Also in me mememe mood this morning I forgot to say hello to the lovely muse this morning. Hope everything is wonderful in Museville and your bundle of gorgeousness is settling in.

Ivegotmrbitey · 25/02/2011 15:18

Grin @ gaga "Made me gyp a bit as he smells of fags but I still luffs him if he gets my boiler going."
Phnaaaaar phnaarrr

Oh dear lord, have turned into Sid James! They don't warn you about that in what to expect when you're expecting!

laurielou · 25/02/2011 15:23

More fashion-tastic solutions for my feet. Thanks ladees. I may put some go-faster highlighter pen stripes down the side Grin

Rocket glad you're feeling better. Give TB a slap (after kissing him of course) for being a mardy, hungry beggar. Embrace the hormonal mentalist, milk it - I intend to.

LadyGoneGaga · 25/02/2011 15:40

Bliss, working boiler! I drew the line at snogging him though - or inviting him to see my etchings thanks MrI'mchannellingSidJames

I'm not going back to work though. Might intermittently check Blackberry but going to skive since I did a 13.5 hour day yesterday. Have Season 3 True Blood and Mitchell to catch up on - my Eric crush is deepening Grin

rocketleaf · 25/02/2011 15:45

ohh great boiler news gaga and thanks for reminding me I will also have double helpings of Mitchell to watch un sunday night (something else to look forward too)

Has anyone seen the bedding washing thread? People are saying they wash their towels after EVERY use, am I the only one who thinks this is not only a bit OCD but a shockingly irresponsible waste of resources? Or am I just a minger?

LadyGoneGaga · 25/02/2011 15:48

Crikey, make mine last a week or so? Well, til they start to smell/look grubby to be honest . As long as you hang them up afterwards to dry they're fine. If you are that dirty when you get out of the shower I think you probably didn't wash well enough!

rocketleaf · 25/02/2011 15:50

Exactly!!! But then it turns out my tolerance for bedsheets is at least twice what other peoples are. I never thought I was a skank.

laurielou · 25/02/2011 15:52

LadyG glad your boiler is working again. May have to fight you for Eric though . Quite, quite delish.

Towels - at least a few days. They've only been used to dry off completely clean water (or should've).

Scorpette · 25/02/2011 16:27

I had a lovely nap, ta, but I was awoken by my inner Euphemism Detector due to GG and her mended boiler Grin

Loz, I've had a genius idea - why not draw a pair of shoes onto your feet with marker pen? That should fool 'em! Hmm I found my rank old fake Uggs and they do fit so I can actually leave the house. There was hilarity as I had to get on my knees to get the box out and my feet are so swollen that they were actually hindering me doing that! So sorry you're going through it too, esp. as your prob is a bit more pressing (and I don't mean at the sides of your shoes, hurhur). I just have to waddle 5 mins to the Drs up the road.

No cankles yet but my right one is threatening it. Sad

Mmmmmm, Bitey, Eric AND Mitchell? The thought gives me funny feelings in my lady area. To be precise, the thought of them nekkid and sweaty and being all vampire-y grrr at each other... You enjoy a bit of time to yourself :)

Rocket, glad you're feeling a bit better about TB 'n all. Mens can indeed be rubbish at entertaining themselves. One upside to having a rubbish MIL (ie not world's greatest mum to TYF) is that he can entertain himself, be it killing things on the PS3, looking up zzzzz-some Man Things on wikipedia or playing his many instruments (sadly, or perhaps gladly, not a euphemism). But he is the only man I know who doesn't expect to be entertained a bit.

And yes, that thread has revealed to me that I am also a skank. Or perhaps that other people are a bit OCD and have waaaaaaay too much time on their hands.

Casserole · 25/02/2011 16:45

Swollen feet? Swollen feet? You lot don't know you're born Wink

I have swollen feet by lunchtime, swollen ankles by 3, swollen calves by dinner and swollen THIGHS by bedtime. I am a catch , ladies Grin

Had an unexpectedly free day today as friend had to cancel so I have just been putting baby clothes in the chest of drawers in the nursery. They seem so small! Especially when I look at my giant boy watching cbeebies in my bed.

owlbooty · 25/02/2011 18:04

Bloody hell I've had to read back PAGES.

The only bits I can remember are:

Yay Berwhale !

We also have a phantom shitter who shat on the actual hinge of the bog and the cleaner couldn't get it off. I work in a medical/clinical place. It is fucking disgusting.

Bitey them results sound top to me. Clinic, however, clearly need a damn good kicking.

rocketleaf · 25/02/2011 18:11

cass that is so sweet! I mean about the tiny clothes not the enormous ankles. :o

it's funny score he is normally well able to entertain himself i used to regularly go on long work trips and spent a year commuting to that ther london most weeks. But recently he has been knocking the gaming on the head and we've just been hanging out together a lot in the evenings. And he has become very protective too. So it's a nice thing now I have put it in perspective. Roll on Sunday!!

Scorpette · 25/02/2011 20:40

Awwww, TB luffs you, Rocket. The hormones are odd - keep making me feel responsible for everyone else's emotions and then it gets overwhelming, dunno if you or anyone else has felt like that.

Rocking the floaty dress look this pg, are we, Cass? Sounds awful; I shall be grateful for only having comedy feets!

Well, me went to Doc. Deafness = some earwax has somehow got forced back right over the actual eardrum (whether this was the pressure of the migraine that seemed to trigger it or not, she can't say). I just have to get some warm olive oil in there a few times aday till it melts away. As for the heart/oxygen thang, she thinks I've defo got Anaemia Shock Or Amnesia, as I rather Freudian slip-ingly said to TYF Blush Have to go up to have blood taken next week. Annoyingly, the phlebotomist (sp?) is only there at the crack of dawn and I'm currently not managing to get to sleep until after 4am and then trying to lie in, so hmmmph. Might also need an ECG, as she confirmed my suspicions that my heartbeat has become erratic. Funtimes. The Lad better be a Nobel prize winner before the age of 21, that's all I can say.

Me and Doc had a 'hilarious' exchange about my paleness, where she was intimating that I am freakishly wan and I was insisting that I'm always this colour, etc. 'Tis true; I don't even go vaguely pink after a gym sesh (I vaguely remember those). Everyone round here is fake tan-tango orange, so it might be affecting her judgement.

Booty, re: your brother's doppler: he does know he can't get pregnant, doesn't he? Or is he actually that transsexual who had a baby?

I couldn't be a faecal freak - I'm just too lazy to a) conceptualise some kind of pooey weirdness and b) carry it out. Who's got time to be wiping shit on a door hinge or the stall or to crap in a CD box? Why don't they get a nice hobby, like knitting?

When I was 13 and on holiday on Belgium (oh yes, Family Scorps know how to live!), someone had written an insult in shit on the inside of the phone box outside our hotel in both French and Dutch. I kinda grudgingly admire that level of attention to detail Grin

PS Actually, I bloody love Belgium.

rocketleaf · 25/02/2011 22:59

How did i manage to make a 7 minute long cross post and completely miss thereturnofthebooty? Hope you had a luffly time Mrs. I would like to bet it IS back flips not indigestion. Plz to explain why your brother has a doppler

score good news on the ear front. Not such good news on the memory loss Wink and heart irregularity. I am sure everything will be ok tho and its good that your doc is taking things seriously. I'd invest in some Spatone asap for the anemia. I think it's great although I spose you might be better sticking to prescription stuff as its free. And perhaps get a San Tropez before your next appointment? :o

Nice evening at some friends of my folks tonight, seemed to have cheered Dad up quite a bit. She ended up making me a special prawnless fish pie with cheddar instead of stilton after her daughter shouted at her. Hmm It was still delicious but there was I thinking it was ME that decided what I could and couldn't eat. :o Nite all.

PollyPoo · 26/02/2011 08:02

Morning all. I am just popping in to impart my news in mememe fashion... I was up for a whole hour this morning before I realised the anxious knot the size of a baby elephant that I had been carrying around in my stomach for weeks has gone! And my first thought on waking wasn't 'Noooooo' or 'Leave me the fuck alone' or any other horrible shitty emotion. It was just.. 'oh BB is awake, best nip downstairs and fetch the bottle before she wakes up the rest of the house'. And off I happily trotted. Yay for happy pills!

I say that calls for a round of flaming sambucas with our croissants for breakfast, non? Grin

rocketleaf · 26/02/2011 08:54

Make mine a tequila please? That's fugging great to hear pollster Yey for happy pills!! Give BB a snuggle from me and enjoy the rest of your day.

LadyGoneGaga · 26/02/2011 09:11

Glad you're feeling better, Pol. Might help that she's that little bit older too? I seem to recall coming out of a bit of a fog when he was 4 weeks old and started smiling at me. Made it all worth it somehow. Anyway, bottoms up

owlbooty · 26/02/2011 10:39

Hoorah Pols ! V.v.glad you are turning a corner. Sambucas all round!

My brother has a doppler because his missus is in third trimester at the moment. Needess to say she has retained marvellous figure, does not have cankles and looks radiant. I have really bad face eczema and spots. Damnit.

Scorpette · 26/02/2011 13:04

Woohoo! Hearing you're feeling a bit better has truly made my day, gorgeous Pooface Grin Grin Grin You might have days where it feels like 2 steps forward, 1 step back but basically it's onwards and upwards from here, yay! Let's celebrate with a reet good frenchy

Booty, your SIL might look like a bloody celeb preggo but she is with your brother Wink(am presuming everyone finds their brother/s as annoying as I do mine, haha. Please to ignore if you have brothers that don't have you planning their gruesome death after spending more than 5 mins in their presence).

Rocket, can't take Spatone nor nuffink until after have bloods taken, as might affect the results, but will doing all I can to sort out my iron levels after that. In other words, eating steak every day, YUM! I feel so poo that it Anaemia does make perfect sense. At this rate, if I was told I had prostate cancer I wouldn't be surprised!

Ivegotmrbitey · 26/02/2011 16:31

So glad you're feeling better pol, those happy tablets are amazing!

owlie are you me? We are skin twinz anyhoo!

I have spent a happy afternoon watching Wales play Italy, always a good one as the Italians wear significantly tighter shorts than the other nations!

I got my free change bag from boots baby club this morning, wevopened the newborn nappies that you have to buy to get them and had me a good old cry when I saw how tiny they were!

scorps I took spatone because I was feeling wan and of course my iron count was then fine. But I suppose I would rather just take it and not show up as anaemic as if I did have a low iron count I would treat it with spatone anyway. It truly is a magic life giving elixir!

Ivegotmrbitey · 26/02/2011 16:37

Um, sorry scorps, after the troubles you have had of course you want a meaningful blood test! Just wanted to share my love of the spatone!

rocketleaf · 26/02/2011 16:57

Of course score by 'asap' I meant AFTER your blood tests. :o Even if they show up to be not that bad it will prob be worth getting on it for a month. I am probably repeating myself here but my acupuncturist told me that what is an acceptable iron count in western medicine would still be considered low in TCM. Worth a shot anyhow.

Scorpette · 26/02/2011 17:37

Cheers, IvortheBitey. I know wot you mean. I need to see the ingredients of Spatone - looked on the website but I can't find them listed anywhere. If there's any kind of sugar or sweetener then I can't have it. I can't take Floradix because it's chock-full of crap I'm 'lergic to.

Hilariously, Doc warned me I might not be able to take the iron tabs either, as they can cause or exacerbate headaches and reflux (probs I may have mentioned before now, ahem). I would like to be normal for just one fucking day!

Ignore my mememe, just feeling rank.

Tiny baby clothes and nappies make me squee too. I keep thinking 'I can't believe he'll be THAT small'... then quickly realise my foof is thinking 'well, I bloody well hope he is!' Wink

Casserole · 26/02/2011 17:53

Score it says on the spatone website that it doesn't contain sugar or sweeteners - look at the FAQ section.

Pollster am so pleased to hear you sounding upbeat Grin

Rocket I'm interested by that comment about TCM and iron levels. What level would they consider good then? My iron was fine at my 28 weeks bloods but I've been wondering for a while now if it's dropped since then...
