Added self to list, hope that's ok? Can I ask when/if you ladies have your scans and how they went?

KTisPG · 08/02/2011 14:32

Welcome Carnival that is a very old list as we now keep our stats here. I've added you in.

Yukana · 08/02/2011 14:34

Oh gosh Cadmum, I don't know what to say. Struggling with battling imminent tears at the moment, but my heart goes out to you. Hugs your way and be safe. :(

littlemissw · 08/02/2011 14:50

So, so sorry to hear your sad news Cadmum Be kind to yourself x

Carnival · 08/02/2011 16:18

Thanks KTisPG.

Teladi · 08/02/2011 16:32

Hi Carnival, I am 12+1 and I have my first scan on Thursday. To be honest I'm really scared about it, though I haven't had any worrying symptoms and am still vomiting everywhere.

KLou111 · 08/02/2011 16:33

Am so very sorry Cadmum, my heart goes out to you and your family. I hope you have lots of support in RL. Big hugs to you all.

Welcome carnival and congrats on your pregnancy.

Might be an idea if we all put our scan dates on the list aswell :)

Kind of feel bad for putting this due to the news above, but I am 99.9% I felt my baby last night for about 10mins. It was just above my bikini line, and a butterfly, tickly feeling. Spoke to my mum (retired MW) just, and she said it was more than likely the baby. She said most people will feel it and not know what it is especially for your first pregnancy, and won't even think it is the baby as it is early on, but it was more than likely baby Grin

LifeOfKate · 08/02/2011 17:01

So so so sorry Cadmum, how upsetting for you :( Thinking of you xx

MrsChemist - There is something quite liberating a second (or 3rd or 4th) time round, isn't there? :o I also wasn't 'allowed' to leave the hospital until they had seen me feed on both sides. My right nipple is not formed properly, so I'm not sure it was ever going to be successful on that side. Thankfully I managed to get DS to feed on it for a few minutes while they watched so got discharged, once I was home I gave up on that side after 3 weeks and have fed DS successfully on one side for 14 months and counting. Am a lot more confident that I will be discharged this time without all that faffing around!

impatient1 · 08/02/2011 17:12

Cadmum I'm so sorry :(

sleepyowl · 08/02/2011 17:57

Cadmum,I'm so sorry to hear your news. Thinking of you.

Thank you everybody who was thinking of me today. It's really quite touching to know how much on your side other people are.

Am pleased to say all went well with my scan this afternoon. :) We saw a wriggly little bean, bouncing around and waving its arms. It was amazing. I really don't have the words to say how I felt watching that screen.

RugbyWidow7 · 08/02/2011 17:58

Hello, happy to report a good scan. Lots of sleeping and jumping around. Amazing experience. Just have to wait for the blood results and measurements to come back - FX- apparently they take a couple of weeks...

Thanks for all your lovely good wishes.

PrettyVacant1 · 08/02/2011 18:18

Sleepy and RugbyWidow good news about your scans. Smile

I've been nursing sick boy today, I say nursing, I made him a sausage butty.Grin
He best not give his lurgy to me as I'm a winge bag enough as it is at the moment.

Quick question, I'm now 11+2 and I've been getting cramps and a dull ache in my back for the past few days.
I'm telling myself I'm being neurotic and it's stretching and growing pains but I can't help thinking it maybe something sinister.
I'm not spotting and my other symptoms are roaring.
I do tend to retain though Sad
Somebody slap me.

RugbyWidow7 · 08/02/2011 18:35

I've updated the list. (New EDD 21/08/2011.)

Firawla · 08/02/2011 18:38

sleepyowl and rugby glad your scans went well
pretty vacant i hope everything is okay, it could be just nothing hopefully?

Annie456 · 08/02/2011 18:42

I need a slap too prettyvacant...I'm 10+6 with another 10 sleeps until my scan. I have been almost hysterical the past few nights with sheer worry. I know I'm protecting myself and there's nothing to make me think something has gone wrong but I can't help it. I keep saying I will get better after my 12+2 scan but DH can't see why the doubts won't creep back in after. When do you start to feel the baby moving around every day? perhaps that will reassure me?

So sorry to hear your sad news cadmum. I've been thinking of you. X

nickstermum · 08/02/2011 18:44

Pretty i have had monstrous backache! Have a fab comfy memory foam mattress that usually is great, and i just cant sleep on it at the min...dont forget all your ligaments start to soften up :)

MrsStevo · 08/02/2011 18:47

So, so sorry Cadmum, my heart goes out to you :( x x

MrsStevo · 08/02/2011 18:58

Annie and prettyvacant, I'm with you on the requirement to be slapped!

I'm so lucky that I've had 2 scans already and both were fine, but is hasn't stopped me worrying (I got about 5 days respite after my scan on the 31st but I'm fretting again now). I've had quite sharp stabby pain in what feels like the lower part of my cervix this evening (sorry if tmi). Have put my feet up for the last 1/2 hour - which has given me a chance to catch up on here - but still getting the pains. pretty - if it is any reassurance at all, I had exactly what you describe around about this time last week - when I was 11 weeks - low back ache and crampiness every now and again. I won't tell you not to worry as I'd be an enormous hypocrit but, TRY not to as I'm sure it is totally normal.

Congratulations sleepy and rugby - fab news! Hope you're still floating on cloud 9 now :)

Yukana · 08/02/2011 19:16

Annie, prettyvacant, MrsStevo
I'm getting pains too. Backache, headaches sometimes. Urge to drink water every five seconds, very emotional, sharp painful twinges every now and then, etc. You aren't alone on the pain or the worry. I get the feeling some sharp pains are normal/pretty common? Let me know if I'm wrong.

I also find I cannot sleep on my back at all, side only or not at all. Hmm Oh well, the baby is lucky I'm so happy about my bump I can't get miffed about it. Grin

PrettyVacant1 · 08/02/2011 19:19

Just instructed sick boy to make dinner. Grin
That is what you said wasn't it MrsS .

I've got my booking in app tomorrow, I'll try and get another scan whilst I'm there.
I've also started to drop the dosage of the 'roids so my mind is working overtime.

MrsVidic · 08/02/2011 19:32

its worth while checking if you have a urine infection if you're getting back ache with thirst.

Hersetta · 08/02/2011 19:43

So sorry Cadmum...hop your family are giving you big hugs.

Glad the scans today went well.

Like some others, I have been getting sharp stabbing pains that last for about 20 seconds and occur when I get up quickly and turn at the same time. Pain is right down in my lower groin and can be localised on the left or right side. Was a bit worried so did a quick Mumsnet search and it seems they are the classic symptoms of round ligament pain. They are really different from the crampy period pain like feelsing I had with DD which was just my uterus stretching.

Don't know if it is just me but the time to my 12 week scan seemed to fly by, but the wait between 12 and 20 weeks is seeming to really drag. I am 15+3 and I'm sure it seems like longer than 3 weeeks since I had my scan. Feel like a right moaning minnie today. I have a cold lovingly passed on by DD and there is naff all to take!
