Ivegotmrbitey · 07/02/2011 14:54

Wheeee! (Or should that be water?) How exciting! Hope all goes well at the hospital!

Babymoon sounds like a fab idea! We're thinking of a week in West Wales somewhere in May as not too far from home just in case. Hope the camper van bed is comfy for a differ though, haven't tested it yet. It should be fine as is comfier than my bed in the house. Lakes sound loveley too, always wanted to go up there and was thinking might take the baybee in September if we get an Indian summer. Never too soon to get them camping if you ask me!

Who else is going to differ yoga? I am starting on Wednesday and ++ excited about it! The appearance of a bumo has done wonders for convincing me that I am indeed diffed, more so than the scans did Confused

medee the pool sounds lovely! Are you going to need to get bikini/ tankini top or be au natrel? I always assumed that nekkid was the way to go but the girl who had the lovely time in the pool on OBEM also had a vay nice bikini on.

laurielou · 07/02/2011 14:56

Gin I'm so hoping you didn't pee yourself in public for many reasons Grin. So excited for you.............

Medee · 07/02/2011 14:56

ooh, gin!!!!!!

Scorpette · 07/02/2011 15:03

Check out FB updates ASAP - am not going to say more, but gerrover there! Grin

HighPriestessBoo · 07/02/2011 15:03

oooh best of luck Gin :)

rocketleaf · 07/02/2011 15:08

Argh me either boo v frustrating!! Hope its all going well.

bitey also jealous of campervan, I REALLY want one. I am supposed to be going to differs yoga at 4 pm but finding it hard to get the impetus to leave the house. Might just go to the one within walking distance on wednesday instead. (was planning on doing both!)

laurielou · 07/02/2011 15:09

Wah! Can't get on FB from office! PM me here Scorps pleeeeeeaaaase?

Scorpette · 07/02/2011 15:14

Dunnit, Loz.

owlbooty · 07/02/2011 15:15

Biteme I did my first differs pilates class last week and felt like utter fraud due to being like a stick compared to 11 other ladies with proper bumps. But buggerit, I enjoyed myself and am going again tonight. Am hoping starting early will result in functioning pelvic floor apres laying.

Oooh, have they kept her in then? Tis v exciting.

Medee · 07/02/2011 15:19

Bitey
I do differs-yoga, as does I think Rocket. It?s really good and definitely best to do a specific class, as there are lots of normal postures you can?t do, and you work on the ones that focus on your pelvic area, back etc, plus relaxation techniques that you can take into labour.

On a slight tangent, I started reading the Hippobirthing book that MsFC sent me. Can?t believe how barbaric birthing was in the 1950s, and it is shocking that we still have some way to go to get away from the interventionist approach. Thankfully though we are now allowed to be conscious for the actual birth and to have contact with our babies immediately afterwards now.

I bought a new tankini for my recent spa trip, which is also a nursing cup one (plain black, Mothercare). It was partly from a desire to have a waterbirth that I went for a tankini. I will see at the time, depending on whether I even get in the pool of course, how I feel: I am fairly uninhibited, so if I trust the MW and am comfortable will strip off, but otherwise just keep the top on and drop the cups for skin-to-skin.

laurielou · 07/02/2011 15:26

Bitey I still go to my regular yoga class as there are apparently no differ yoga classes around here Sad. But my teacher knows I'm diffed, & as her DIL is also diffed, she's making it a little project to concentrate on some differ positions. I luffs my class, always have (despite not going tonight as I just don't feel right).

Meds I also treated myself to a tankini for my weekend away, & with a waterbirth in mind. Though reckon I'll be quite happy butt naked in front of the entire Welsh rugby squad come May.

Scorpette · 07/02/2011 15:27

Why not drop the cups NOW, Medee, just so we can see how it's done Grin

LadyGoneGaga · 07/02/2011 15:31

I've booked in for differs yoga but not starting til end of Feb. Loved it last time.

Vay excited for Gin but I'm sadly not her friend on FB so can't see the specifics of the excitement. Imagine she is about to lay though? Tremendous queue jumping performance - very well done. Grin

Ocarina · 07/02/2011 15:32

Oooh, Gin, hope that means things are moving and baby will be here soon.

Thanks for the freebies info, I guess signing up at the places I shop anyway will be the sensible thing to do. And definitely ticking the no more info box on the Bounty form!

I'm liking the sound of all these babymoons. I've got holiday booked for May (no idea whether TH has also booked it off), we now just need to decide what we're going to do with it.

Ivegotmrbitey · 07/02/2011 15:39

Thanks PESHes, really looking forward to it now! They also do a one to one session called birth preparation that I may try. It's quite expensive so I'll see how I get on with the classes first I think. Was pretty funny when I rang her as she was with a woman in labour! Perhaps you can pay extra to have her there on the day? Ooooh I wonder if it was gin???

BarbiesBeaver · 07/02/2011 15:41

Oh best of luck to you Gin. Will be hoping for good news coming your way very soon.

Occers are you thinking of going away? I guess you might want TH if you are!

Medee · 07/02/2011 16:05
owlbooty · 07/02/2011 16:10

Heheheheh. I was curious as to how those 'nursing garments' actually worked so went into Mothercare and unhooked them all to find out.

Answer: not at all as ingenious as I thought they would be, damnit. Is just glorified flashing contraption. I expected something cleverer. Not quite sure what, though.

I don't think the other differs are going to enjoy my pilates class today. I have terrible digestive rumblings. Grin

Scorpette · 07/02/2011 16:17

PHWOOOOOOAAAR! You don't get many of those to the pound, etc., etc. Grin Wink

Ocarina · 07/02/2011 16:21

BB the plan is to go away, so TH had better get it booked if he hasn't.... Although booking leave tends to be less complicated for him than me, so it should be fine. Anyway, how are you? Menkulling away or staying wonderfully zen?

Ivegotmrbitey · 07/02/2011 16:28

boots I have had much fun in the flashing bras! The FDH is completely over it but I flash him at least once a day! At least he will be desensitised to breast exposure if I am succussful on the BFing. I always get windy for quiet stretchy classes, far too much relaxing going on! Actually my first inkling that I may be diffed was n the gym when the man on the running machine next to mine farted. It was so smelly I had to hit the emergency stop button on mine, hiss dirty bastard at him and flounce home!

owlbooty · 07/02/2011 16:37

What, you have the flashing brassieres already?

I have bra envy. I do not have farty gym man envy though, gross.

BarbiesBeaver · 07/02/2011 16:39

Occers mentalling quite a lot really. Varying between wanting so much for this to actually work, but I can't ever see myself with a big bump and a real baby. I think that is fairly standard though in the first few weeks as you have nothing to show for it all.

I like hearing about all the fun and lovely stuff to come later - the flashing bras, pushchairs, birthing pools, maternity clothes. I can't wait to join in all of that. How are you feeling? I bet it's all becoming a bit more real after your scan and telling a few people? Any hint of a bump yet?
