14 days is a fair old time, you poor thing!

Good on you for holding out though. I always said I would have done this with MiniO as I am a firm beliver that they come when they are ready. Some degree of monitoring is useful though, at least to check the placenta is healthy etc Smile. Will keep my fingers crossed that things start for you soon, without the need for people to start interferring.

Just a thought, are you able to walk (far)? You may have already been doing this, but I read somewhere that if you can walk up to a mile a day (!) your cervix can be aggitated into action. I know this may sound unreasonable at this stage of PG, but a gentle walk as far as you can might be a way forwards. Isn't there something about going up and down stairs too? I seem to remember seeing that on OBEM last series.

Medee · 16/02/2011 09:35

Welcome back StiffyByng!

I guess babyKateBob couldn?t stand the idea of MiniGin having arrived early and had to catch-up. Am still third until Kate and Drom go though, shall cling onto that. In the meantime, I have packed my hospital bag and started doing more of the hippobirthing reading and CD.

Come on Kate!!

rocketleaf · 16/02/2011 09:38

Aww clucky its got to be soon!!!

loads of luck with antenatal drom hope you get a plan you are happy with! 24th is not long!

Still all gooey over muse

So in a weeks time I will be 5th on the not list, that is still handleable

owlbooty · 16/02/2011 09:43

Pols you've set me off too, you evil woman Grin

This is all so lovely although deeply un-PESHlike.

Casserole · 16/02/2011 10:00

Woke up this morning so pleased for Muse

Gin, so lovely to see you too! Are you home? How are you feeling? Congratulations! What a happy few days for the ESHes. And set to continue, thanks to Clucky and Drom . Wow.

Clucky seconding what I think Tulip said about walking being a good kicker-offer. But I'm sure you've probably read a million things on that already. I'm pleased they are so far being fairly hands off and just keeping a little eye on you,all sounds v wise. But I hope it's not much longer for you, too.

Drom what have they said to you then, have you set a date for induction if nothing in next 8 days? How are you feeling about that?

milanomum · 16/02/2011 10:28
Grin
CluckyKate · 16/02/2011 10:38

Yep - agree on the walking front. Thought I'd take poochy for a good long tramp this arvo.

Reflex lady has been again & says cervix area is lovely & soft but there is tension in the pelvic floor so need to work on getting my brain in gear today and have got the Hypno lady coming tomoz to do more fear-release.

Not much longer to go now, surely Hmm

PollyPoo · 16/02/2011 10:56

Clucks you have my sympathies. I went 12 days over with Boo and 13 with BB. Is Not Fun. Would a nice glass of Wine help you relax those muscles?

Sorry I didn't mean to invoke tears and snot Loz and Wol. Just got a bit overcome. Grin

Ariesgirl · 16/02/2011 10:58

Am thinking twice about booking foot lady now Kate. I didn't know they shoved their hand up yer foof

PollyPoo · 16/02/2011 11:02

Not her hand Rie.. her foot. Reflexology innit, feet. Tssk, can't believe you didn't know that... Grin

Backinthebox · 16/02/2011 11:22

The foot lady can tell all sorts of things from your feet. It's magic. The first time she came to see me she could tell all the bits of my body I have damaged in pursuit of sporting excellence, just by stroking my soles! It worked for me, I can only assume that babyCluck is a very stubborn child. Should be interesting in the Cluck household in a couple of years time, as one of the things that gives me endless entertainment at the moment is listening to LittleChick and TT shouting 'my Daddy,' 'no, MY Daddy,' 'no, MMMMYYYyyyy Daddy,' 'NO, MMMMMMYYYYYYYYYYYyyyyyyy DADDDDDDDYYEEEEEE!' at each other. Who knows why? Confused

Congrats to Muse - sounds fast! I haven't seen any pics on the other place, is she ginger? Ginger babies are the best!

laurielou · 16/02/2011 11:33

Grin Grin Polly

rocketleaf · 16/02/2011 12:09

she has a wee hat on so you can't tell. but she is very very cute! And Muse looks gorgeous and just the right amount of smug :o

BTW muse she only gets to be 'the most beautiful girl in the world' for another 3 months so enjoy it hehe.

I can hear next door cooing over their grandson. Its all very sweet and i would quite like to knock round for a cuddle

Ivegotmrbitey · 16/02/2011 12:18

Grin at sprocket, I am dying to get my cuddle on with a new born! My friend is due in two weeks and I am steeling myself to keep away from the birthing centre, I mean she should probably get the first cuddle!

clucks has mrkate tried the "swallowing semen encourages the laying" one yet? The FDH has already tried that one with me - I exclaimed in horror that if that was the case there would be no BJs until the baybee is born!

Medee · 16/02/2011 12:18

I think you'll find only another 3.5 weeks if mine is a girl, LaSalade, and if it is a boy, then of course most gorgeous boy in the whole world. Wink

rocketleaf · 16/02/2011 12:59

bitey MrLeaf sniggers every time he hears anything about "induction", because my recently layed friend as told in her ante natal classes that a bit of back door action is apparently good for getting things moving. He now has the 2 things inextricably linked in his mind (dirty bugger) God help me if I am that over due to need it (induction that is not anal!!)

:o meds we can fight over the title when the time comes I guess (but I will win)

LadyGoneGaga · 16/02/2011 13:51

What kind of crazy woman does bumsex at 9 months pregnant???!!! Shock

If MrG suggested that I would be pulling on a 12" strap on and lubing him up.

OP posts:
Ivegotmrbitey · 16/02/2011 13:56

Oh I am so glad I am working at home lady and rocket! Am chuckling in a proper dirty manner!

I can't think of anything less appealing! I wonder who in the ante-natal class imparted that bit of wisdom??

cheggers · 16/02/2011 14:03

what's all the blubbing going on in here? bunch of pussies.

anyway - hands free at last to give muse a late but massive congratulations. an ickle baby girl hope you are enjoying these magical first few days.

and a congrats for gin and her wee baby boy too. lovely lovely news. and if he is anything like his big bruvva - he is gonna be a stunner Smile

can't wait to see pics.

also - top tip for the new layers (and all peshes actually!). make sure you get loads of vid footage when they are tiny and just unfurling. i think we were a bit overwhelmed by it all and only have about 30 seconds total. i could watch it all day though Smile

sorry - have not had time to catch up with the thread proper as manic busy as ever. i tried to yesterday but looked up to see my daughter about to chow down into a power cable Blush

PerfectDromedary · 16/02/2011 14:18

Filth and tears - I like it.

Antenatal outcome: planned c-sec booked for 23rd Feb. Honestly, the money and time I've wasted on birthing classes/yoga/books/hypnobirthing. Bloody giant monster baby.

rocketleaf · 16/02/2011 14:34

drom its sods law tho, if you hadn't bothered you would have been trying to lay naturally this very minute and not had a clue what to do! Hope you have stocked up on 0-3 month clothing. :o

bitey is was the MW that volunteered that class bit of info.

rocketleaf · 16/02/2011 14:35

BTW let me clarify, TB is not suggesting we ever use this as a tactic, he just can't keep a straight face when the term 'induction' is used (mental age of 13 yr old)

cheggers · 16/02/2011 14:38

sorry you're not getting the birth you wanted drom. these damn babies have a mind of their own!

it's a bit surreal making your way in for a planned c-sec, but also very relaxed and chilled.

and at least you get plenty of time to make yourself presentable for those post birth shots Wink

cheggers · 16/02/2011 14:46

rocket - it sounds like he'll be going straight into 3-6 month Shock

PerfectDromedary · 16/02/2011 14:49

God, I hope not! Otherwise s/he will be a bit nekkid - I only have one 3-6 month outfit.

Planned c-sec deffo has certain advantages. I shall remember to pack lippy. And possibly get a bikini wax...otherwise they'll have to shave me, no?
