musicalchairs have proper lolled at you 'I must be pregnant' comment. And have realised the mahoosive drawback of ocado is the inability to impulse purchase loads of lovely chocolate based snacks!!

Also loving the 'some cunts are so rude' genius.

ginsling PL situ is a nightmare and you have every right to have a bit of a whinge. I would be devoed. Lovely that you rmum can be there but not the same. As scoreboard said when he can have the time off it'll be extra special!

medicinecabinet diffed status is 'out' on FB just not the sex of the baby. So comment away (although hopefully not that I 'shouldnt' be easing cray fish or I will cry!!)

rocketleaf · 10/02/2011 17:20

Sorry for all the mistakes. Crappy phone us crappy.

Casserole · 10/02/2011 17:24

How did you get on Musealot ?

Ginsterspasty that is so rubbish and I'm sorry. I'm glad your Mum is there so at least you have help though of course it's not the same. And no, you're not being OTT to have a weep about it at ALL.

Saladserver well hello Wink I'm doing ok fanks. 32 weeks and will hopefully crank open the sunroof at 38 weeks so about 6 weeks ish to go. How are you?

Medee · 10/02/2011 17:28

What a twat, scorps, nice of the other guy to speak up.

Very small children swearing is amusing, less so when they get a little bit older.

Good luck at the Birth Centre, Muse.

That in fact was what I was going to say, Roquette, but only cause I ate them myself for the first weeks on the basis that cooked seafood was OK (just didn?t realise it was meant to be hot!)

rocketleaf · 10/02/2011 17:37

Oh bollocks! Really? I thought it was ok as long as they were cooked :( Shit pips, well I'll have to bang the rest of it in the king prawn curry I am making tonight. All is not lost (apart from not bring able to eat another prawn cocktail which is about the only thing I have craved!!) boo.

Muser · 10/02/2011 18:11

I have been eating prawn cocktail quite happily. If I can have prawn sushi, surely I can have prawn cocktail? Assuming it's from somewhere reputable and hasn't been sat out all day?

Rightso, I am cleared for the Birf Centre. It is soooo lovely. I swear it's like a hotel, gorgeous rooms. And the medical equipment is carefully hidden in wardrobes so as not to freak you out. And the pool. Oh the pool. It was massive, I want it for my very own. Or in the non-pool room there's a Swedish Birthing Chair, which is quite cool too.

Midwives seemed lovely, even being nice to the annoying kids who had been brought along and proceeded to jump on the bed.

Best thing, 500+ births there so far, one transfer solely for pain relief. I likes it. Now Bob has to turn up on time as inductions = labour ward.

Casserole · 10/02/2011 18:42

That sounds lovely Muse Which one is it?

I've eaten cooked seafood throughout, hot or cold. Surely the cooking kills the bacteria so then as long as it's refrigerated properly and not left out, as Muse says, then it's fine?

rocketleaf · 10/02/2011 18:58

Well yeah that's what I thought. Hence why I started making my own so I could control the freshness. Oh well the curry needed padding out anyway as I hadn't bought enough prawns.

muse your birthing centre sounds fab. The one I'll be going to if I don't gave a HB has a great pool but the other rooms are tiny so just have to cross my fingers crossed for getting there if that's where I end up

Sorry cassaulet I didnt reply before. I'm really good thanks! Starting to feel rather stretched, am only 24 weeks so a bit Eek at the thought I am going to have 4 or 5 times more baby in there. Feel like I might pop every time I eat!!! But it's all good. So only 6 weeks til sun roof action! How have the exams gone? Are you still studying or is that finished now?

Casserole · 10/02/2011 19:09

I looked up the Food Standards Agency guidelines, in case they'd changed. They just say it has to be cooked, not hot.

Exams over for the time being fanks, and somehow managed to pass them all. Still studying, and have decided to carry on this year rather than deferring - it's already 5 years, can't face making it 6! I have one exam about 3/4 weeks after I'm due, but only a little one, should be fine. I do however have several essays and other assignments to hand in that I really need to be doing NOW so I don't have to do them all when babe is newborn, but am I knuckling down to them? Am I feck. I don't know what's wrong with me at the moment, I am being very unproductive and having some sort of toddler tantrum in my head about it all Smile

Medee · 10/02/2011 19:10

yes, it's almost certainly OK, but just thought I'd mention it!

Birthing centre sounds fabulous!

Medee · 10/02/2011 19:12

hurrah for passing your exams, Cass!

What's a Swedish Birthing Chair?

Muser · 10/02/2011 19:19

Congrats on passing the exams Cass, I am very impressed. Birth centre is Lewisham, it opened last year so is still very shiny.

Medee the birthing chair has a chair bit for you to sit on, with a cut away bit so they can catch the baby. Then another chair behind it where the birth partner can sit and hold on to you/massage/whatever. And there's a fabric rope that hangs down in front of you that you can use to brace yourself on. It looked very cool. But I'd rather have the room with a pool.

rocket there are 5 rooms in this one, 3 have pools, the other 2 don't but they do have baths instead and the birthing chairs and shizz. Something like 50% of the women who use it labour in the pool. I was asking about the risk of turning up and it being full, but they said it's not an issue. And I think they switch rooms as well, so if someone was in the room with the pool, they'd swap you around. Apparently labouring women have priority. And because they only let you stay 2-6 hours after the birth they have a fast turnaround.

laurielou · 10/02/2011 19:25

Gin nightmare about MrG, sorry to hear about that. You sob away if it helps. Glad your mum is there.

Cass Well done on the exams. 6 weeks left? Bloody hell! Lovely to see you here...

Talking of which Extreme! How the bloody hell are you?

I hope MiniGin is suitably impressed with the welcoming party.

Scorps You post has me cring with laughter. Genius!

Muse Lovely news about the birthing centre.

Its all go in here again.

rocketleaf · 10/02/2011 19:35

Phew! Glad we got that sorted

Well done on the exam passage cass sorry it doesn't let up tho. Hope you get another spurt of enthusiasm for it because I agree I don't think tiny sprog and essays will be a good combo. Took my sister over 7 years to get her (2nd) degree as she was doing it PT and then took a year off in the middle to have her 2nd daughter with that and the foundation it took almost her entire 30's to retrain!! Eep.

muse I am even more jealous of the birthing crntre. It sounds lovely! Although Swedish birthing chair sounds a wee bit too close to German sex chair to me both in name and description!!!

Medee · 10/02/2011 19:51

The chair sounds great, as an alternative to the pool. I doubt our place has them, as there are only four rooms in the MLU with only one pool (even if it does have dimmer-controlled lighting!)

I feel I have been misled re prawns - I thought I was OK to eat them cold, then thought I wasn't, and now I don't know where I was told don't eat them. Bah!

rocketleaf · 10/02/2011 19:51

Ok tmi alert. My bottom is broken but there are no bum grapes. How are you supposed to fix piles if they are on the inside?

Muser · 10/02/2011 19:58

You need some suppositories rocket. The cream does come with an applicator to, umm, apply internally, but suppositories are less gross.

rocketleaf · 10/02/2011 20:03

Duh, of course. I can foresee a really fun trip to Boots in my near future Blush

Orchid12 · 10/02/2011 20:20

Evening all Smile Glad you're all doing ok, sounds like things are gearing up for a few people and the next couple of weeks are going to be very exciting.

Ginsters really sorry to hear work has gone against you and Mr G is up to his eyes in things. You've had it rough recently and deserve to be cut some slack.

We had the 20 week scan today. Was all good Smile. Heart looked ok so have been signed off to midwife led care (although that also happened with mini O and he does still have a condition that could only be picked up after birth). Tried to find out the sex, but baby had other thoughts! The first time it had one leg behind its bum so we couldn't tell. Got sent away to eat chocolate (oh, the hardship!) but baby made it even harder and crossed its legs instead. We were given a rough guess based on the small bit we did see but it was with no certainty so not really paying much attention to it. Mr O is very pleased as he never wanted to know anyway. I feel a bit disappointed but guess these things happen (although I have to admit to finding out how much sexing scans are!).

Sprocket - hope the internal grapes sort themselves out!!!

ChoChoSan · 10/02/2011 20:35

Hello gels,

Finally reporting for duty after longtime! Well those who didn't see elsewhere would have guessed that ChoChildSan has been gifted to the world, well in fact our heartbreaker was dragged howling into the world via emcs last Sunday (yes, I have already returned my lentil sandals to Ina May:) for a full refund). She is beautiful, and shows early signs of great intelligence, giftedness, bravery and empathy, like the People's PESHbaby in many ways.

No HB due to slow heart rate picked up as soon as midwives arrived, so pool not inflated. Baby born healthy and perfect.

We are absolutely loved up, and I can't wait till you all get yours, because everyone should be able to have this...is AMAZE!

I haven't had the chance to read the last weeks posting, so hope things going well for Clucky and Gin...I will read asap, and keeping eyes out for Musebaybee and Berwhale

CurlyCasper · 10/02/2011 20:43

awwww massive congrats cho! You do sound completely besotted. And little girls are just great Hope you have a speedy recovery, and looking forward to hearing more about ChoChild. x

Muser · 10/02/2011 21:17

Massive congratulations Cho, she is gorgeous so no wonder you're besotted. Hope you're doing well and recovering from it all.

Orchid huge congrats on your 20 week scan going ok. Pesky little thing not flashing you, but it's really quite good fun not knowing what you're having.

rocketleaf · 10/02/2011 21:26

Aww massive congratumalation chochomum just goes to show it can all go completely off plan but not matter in the least once your wonderful baybee is in the world :-) you sound ecstatic, long may is last! Hope you are taking it easy after emergency cabriolet action.

Great scan news re heart orchid and the MW care. not so great on the leg crossing but I guess you just have to roll with it! Be a nice surprise when s/he is born and at least MrO is happy.

Casserole · 10/02/2011 21:32

Oh Cho congratulations! Hope you're recovering well and not too sore. Take it easy Smile

Ina May still owes me for a pair of them sandals, too Smile

Medee · 10/02/2011 21:50

Hurrah for Chocho and the arrival of BabyCho, you sound so loved up, it's ace!
