Thank God for that. Thought everyone was doing that "la la la we can't hear you" thing!

Hiya Drom - so lovely to see how you are getting on. I should probably come here and check on youz lot more often Blush Sorry to hear its not all plain sailing. The NHS are bally marvelous and I am sure they will take most excellent care of you x

Gin I'm afraid I can't manage to text on a new phone and message here simultaneously. That baby is going to be out by the time I manage to reply to both properly Wink

Muser · 10/02/2011 10:27

My first thought on waking this morning was "I wonder if gin has had her baby". I am so excited for you!

Muser · 10/02/2011 10:28
ginhag · 10/02/2011 10:29

Hospital rang back again wanting to know why I'm not booked in for this afternoon and trying to chance everything.

This is messing with my zen. I have a fucking plan and a fucking timescale, I have got my head around this, I don't want it all changed just cos they haven't talked to each other!

Muser · 10/02/2011 10:34

Keep your zen. Tomorrow is fine isn't it? I thought that was standard for how long they give you when your water goes. I am a bit clueless though.

BarbiesBeaver · 10/02/2011 10:34

Best of luck Gin hope all goes well x

extremesitting · 10/02/2011 10:34

Thats what I think anyways

extremesitting · 10/02/2011 10:35

ginhag · 10/02/2011 10:40

Grin extreme

muse it depends when my waters went. Which was actually Monday. Although most of them are counting it from when they believed me ie yesterday. And some of them are very much '24 hours only' which from yesterday afternoon would be this afternoon.

It is making my head hurt.

Anyway am booked in for 7.30 am tomorrow but sounds like we'll be waiting pretty much all day. If that makes any sense.

Think I might go to sleep for a bit.

ginhag · 10/02/2011 10:42

Thanks BB. been thinking of you lots xxx

Ariesgirl · 10/02/2011 10:44

Good God is that extreme?

Casserole · 10/02/2011 10:47

Oh Gin. Sorry you're being messed around.

Are they happy to wait until tomorrow? Not that I give two shits about what makes them happy, but hoping they leave you alone to sort yourself out this afternoon.

Elcs are the way forward, doncha know Wink And I REALLY like Ski's idea of the bubbly in recovery

Oh yes. I've measured between 2 and SIX weeks ahead, depending on who is measuring and how. Up to 2cm either side is normal. And anything over 2 with a tape measure is still notoriously unrealiable - my tape measure read 6cm one week - swift growth scan - hey presto, 2cm. Why they still bother I've no idea.

Drom I completely understand how you're feeling about last minute changes and spanners in works. But you know that already Smile

extremesitting · 10/02/2011 10:51

GinnyHendricks let me know if there is anything I can do to be helpful. This includes not texting every five minutes to see how you are getting on.

ginhag · 10/02/2011 11:07

SEE extreme you like being here don't you? You can't leave now.

Yep stew it's on for Friday. Fucking hell I suddenly feel sooooo tired. Muuusst sleeeeep....

Laterz bluds xxxxxxxxx

rocketleaf · 10/02/2011 11:12

gah, gin hope you get some kip and get to stick to The Plan It's very much "hello left hand, please meet right hand. you have been attached to the same body for the last 65 years but apparently have never met before" I have experienced that a bit myself with NHS even though individually each person has been lovely, the system seems a bit ropey.

"fizzy in recovery" is rather poetic.

Muser · 10/02/2011 11:13

BangtheDrom you sound like you're taking the right attitude to change of venue. Birth centre lovely, but definitely not worth a risk if there is one. Even if Berwhale isn't a 9/10lber you won't know for sure until it's happening.

Fingers crossed it will all go smoothly so you won't need to be in for long anyway and can head home to snuggle your giant baby!

Casserole · 10/02/2011 11:22

Sleep well Ginster

xx

Medee · 10/02/2011 11:29

Hello MorethanWords, nice to see you here.

Drom one of the local ladies I met yesterday was told her baby would be 9lbs+ and her baby was 7lbs+. Although it is helpful they suspect a big baby, is there not a danger that they intervene when they don?t actually need to?

I am having irrational (or perhaps rational) rages at work. (1) It is too hot in the office, and my window doesn?t open. (2) People keep having impromptu meetings in the corridor near my desk. (3) colleague visiting my next-desk colleague has the most annoying sniff, and he?s just got a seat so is here for a while yet. Actually, that all seems eminently rational to me.

Any opinions on baby monitors? BT Something or Other 150 seems a popular choice on MN reviews, and is either £50 on Amazon new, or £35 on Ebay from the BT outlet refurbished (but possibly new just with a shorter warranty.)

Ooh, looks like a palindromic birthdate for GinMiniature

owlbooty · 10/02/2011 11:46

Palindromic birth date would be awesome :) I bet babyGin rocks up tomorrow.

Meds I had a Rage incident in a meeting yesterday which was somewhat unfortunate. I think I have scared my mild-mannered boss. He doesn't yet know about the barking mad insanity differ hormones though. The last woman I shared an office with sniffed all the time, it made me want to staple her nostrils shut.

Perhaps the Rage is not all hormone related. Blush

Biteme are you out there? I seem to be exactly one week behind you with the symptoms. Today I suddenly have a bump! And night terrors last night, as well. So now I need to know what is going on with you so I can expect it next week, pliz.

CluckyKate · 10/02/2011 11:59

We used the BT one (just the plain old BT100) with LC Meds....was excellent. 500m range which meant I could do the horses while she slept, very clear reception and never let us down. I did make the mistake of putting non-chargeable batteries in it then sticking the parent part in the charger so ruined it but we were so chuffed with it we bought another!

I'd just fork out the 50 smackers for the Amazon one....I'm never quite sure about refurbished stuff.

rocketleaf · 10/02/2011 12:44

'ello cass how are you lovely? Not long for you now either is it?

meds they all seem very reasonable to me, especially no.2. I used to have a corner desk right opposite to the photo copiers and on the way to the canteen. People used to regularly congregate for a chat at the copiers and sometimes have a mini meeting (ie gossip) leaning against my desk about 3 feet from my head. Used to make me sooo Angry Especially as workload distribution used to be fairly unfair (not in my favour) and I would be up to my eyes in it.

Ivegotmrbitey · 10/02/2011 13:04

Good news owlie today am very serene and zen after differ yoga last night and heading to a meditation (get me) sesh in a minute. Bump had sudden push outwards again last night and is becoming more and more differ like. No more night terrors, voracious appetite and a slight lower back ache. So mostly nice things to look forward to, esp the malteresers I am tucking into.

Right am off to medidate, ommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

rocketleaf · 10/02/2011 13:09

No night terrors for me but I did have a whole night of bad dreams about Zombies (and emigrating to Australia) the other night after watching this weeks Being Human. Took me 5 mins to get up the courage for the obligatory wee trip the first time I woke up. Brrh.

I have got rage about Freecycle, another no show last night. People are making a habit of it and its getting right on my tits. Angry

owlbooty · 10/02/2011 13:25

Oooh. I am catching you up then as was troughing maltersers yesterday (the white choc ones are ace).

And I know what you mean about the bladderfail thing.

Can I contract out my meditating to you as well? I am shite at it as easily distracted. In return I will eat extra cake on your behalf.

Ivegotmrbitey · 10/02/2011 14:11

No sorry you can't! I am also rubbish at meditation! All that focussing on breathing made me feel sick and then I got fidgety and am now in a very bad mood Angry

Will still help out on the cake front though

Boo to freecycle stander-uppers, impromptu mini meetings, over heated offices, stupid sniffers, people we have to work with, left-hand right hand confusion and sudden changes to laying plans!

And two fingers to everyone else planning on making our day less than pleasant!
