Ooooh, Gin, 'bout time you got some pay-off for all the pain and confusion. Baybee soon, WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Get that Wine down yer, moy luverr Grin

Oh yeah - VIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIBES! Whatever you decide will be the right choice

Ta for the baby-size reassurance. I haven't worried cos I know they base all these things on quite a narrow set of guidelines about what's 'normal'. When a preggo is a bit of titch like wot me and you is, a normal-sized baybee will seem bigger.

Muse, I love your mate's blog. Don't like chelsea buns myself, but have nabbed a couple of fab-looking curry recipes :)

Is it me or does 'chelsea buns' seem mildly fnarr? [Finbarr]

MsFC · 10/02/2011 01:40

gin! not sure if you are still about but I have sent you a message xx

starnosemole · 10/02/2011 02:14

OOh *gin^ pardon the intrusion, but wanted to wish you the gentlest of sneezes or sun roof extractions- how bloody exciting!!

LadyGoneGaga · 10/02/2011 06:24

Easy squeezy sneezy labour vibes from me, Gin. May you have that baybee very, very soon xxx

Isn't Cho to be induced soon? Did I get that right? Or at least fisted? Hope you and *CluckY8 both ok too - have some E, S, S labour vibes yourselves.

Right - up very early as going to a workshop in that there London today - 9 am start. Poo.

CurlyCasper · 10/02/2011 07:44

Thinking of you ginster, may it be easy breezy sneezy! Smooches and nipple tweaks.

milanomum · 10/02/2011 08:02

Gin the best of sneezy luck to you!

LGG great news on the house. We have decided to start looking to buy but the emphasis is more on the 'start' than the 'looking' at the minute.

Bitey and owlie love the tops. I got some stuff in the winter sales here but am waiting for the summer stuff to splash out on tents floaty dresses.

bitey those wee owl stickers are so cute!

I had another scan yesterday but by pure chance because I went for my free gynae appointment and she turned on the machine and hey presto, saw baybee again! She asked if I wanted to know the sex but I resisted because DH wasn't there. So now I think it's a boy because I'm only 14.5 weeks...Is that a viable theory?

Hope today brings a mass laying clucky, Cho and Gin!

laurielou · 10/02/2011 08:12

Gin WOO HOO! Hope for a sneezy squeezy birth!

PerfectDromedary · 10/02/2011 08:22

Gin! Babyeeee Squeeeee Am sure that you will make the right decision for you and the Ginlet.

Re: measuring babies. Both fundal height and ultrasounds aren't wholly reliable - I've consistently measured 2 weeks ahead of dates because I was lardy when I got pregnant.

Thing is, though, however estimated these weights are, and there is a massive margin of error, the people helping me to birth this baby need to know that there is a risk. The midwife-led birthing centre can't take me because it's a ten-minute transfer to hospital - and if there are issues with delivering the baby's shoulders, I can't be that far from surgical help. I'm the same distance from the hospital - birthing centre is literally 5 minutes down the road from me - and although the risk of shoulder dystocia is TINY, it's not one I'm prepared to take now that I know that the baby is big. Even with the statistical margin of error in growth scans, the baby is 9lb 4oz, which isn't tiny.

AlpinePony · 10/02/2011 08:52

Very exciting gin! Grin Hope you have a lovely chilled elcs with a glass of chilled bubbly waiting for you in recovery.

drom That is frightening but as you have already discovered - massive margins for error. Bear measured big the entire time and in the end came out at 5lbs 11oz! Yes, he was nearly a month early - but given what they'd been saying he should've been 8lbs at that stage! Hmm We had 4 3-D scans within 3 weeks and each and every one of them gave a different length & weight - we became very sceptical - especially when one had him down as weighing a pound lighter than he'd done 72 hours previously! You will be absolutely fine and you will be looked after and you will have your gorgeous baybee in your arms very soon. :)

HighPriestessBoo · 10/02/2011 09:08

Alps She might not have the CS - she was getting mild rushes ( Wink ) contractions last night so she may be full blown laying as we speak!

ginhag · 10/02/2011 09:16

Nah she's not. Well not yet anyway. Had an uncomfortable night but still not much kicking off yet. Will see what happens. Either my body gets on with it, or cs tomorrow.

Que sera sera etc.

And drom you are being both calm and sensible. Well done you.

PerfectDromedary · 10/02/2011 09:17

I saw Igs yesterday, and she had much the same story. Is reassuring. And all babies come out in the end, one way or another, so am not too stressed. Just a bit deflated that am going to be in smelly London hospital with staff who will be brilliant for actual birth but a bit elsewhere for aftercare because we still don't have enough midwives. As opposed to lovely one-on-one care in birthing centre where your partner can stay over.

ginhag · 10/02/2011 09:18

The glass of bubbly is a given either way tho :)

rocketleaf · 10/02/2011 09:19

Ohhh gin exciting, glad someone has finally listened to you. Sending you peaceful birthing vibes which ever way you decide to go with it. Either way minigin will be here soon eeeeep!

drom at least if you are in the hospital then you know that help is at hand in the unlikely event you would need it. That way you should be more relaxed and therefore less likely to need it iyswim? I think whatever is going to make you more confident the better.

HighPriestessBoo · 10/02/2011 09:28

Ah bugger. I think my woo is crap :o

Better namechange to 'lowlyservantboo' or 'BaldrickBoo' methinks.

Yes, I think if they wanted to induce me again I'd prob go straight for the CS option Gin. Tough one. But yes, it's the bubbly after that's the main thing of course Wink

Medee · 10/02/2011 09:32

Well, you are very special gin, Grin. Really excited that you will be getting to meet your baby before the week is out!

CluckyKate · 10/02/2011 09:43

Excitin' times Gin Envy. Whichever way it goes you will get your champers....and your baby, of course.
When you've finished with those vibes could you send them this way - absolutely fuck all happenning here Angry.

Good luck to you too Cho if you're there.

Got the reflex lady coming again - she has decided to by-pass all relaxation shiz & go straight to the birthing work.

AlpinePony · 10/02/2011 09:50

drom Is it too late to go private? TNB surely being a B is not without perks? You don't have to put up with below-par care you know. If I were in the UK I'd go private each and every time.

extremesitting · 10/02/2011 09:50

And I'm first in line for a hold. Huzzah! Grin

Sorry for busting in... just keeping an eye on progress is all.... hello everyone!

PerfectDromedary · 10/02/2011 10:03

streeeeeeeeeeeeeeme Hello precious! It has been Too Long. How te devil are you?

Alps We did think about private but is eye-wateringly expensive ad quite Far Away. At least there's continuity of care in terms of midwife visits etc post-birth if we stick with the Royal London. And I really, really have nothing at all to complain about in my treatment this pregnancy - everyone has been helpful and really kind. Especially when I rang a midwife at 6am because I was fretting about this growth lark and she reassured me AND sorted out an ante-natal appointment for me immediately. I really love the NHS at the moment.

ginhag · 10/02/2011 10:03
Ivegotmrbitey · 10/02/2011 10:11

OOOh how exciting gin! Also sending you vibes in case rincewindboo is having an off day Wink

drom what about a doula? Do they do after care? A very vague suggestion there form me, because I don't really know much about them!

Those stickers are cute aren't they milano? I like them much better than some of the more fluffy stuff. Although I was extremely taken with bunting in john lewis the other day.

I have been back to the ante-natal clinic for the triple test. Was terrified that the phlebotomist was going to gouge my veins when they realised I was the complaining one but all was well. Now just have to wait ten days for results.

Ooh today might be mini-gins birthday, or tomorrow might bring scorps her non-related ESH twins!

Ariesgirl · 10/02/2011 10:12

Hello Ginny. Just pooped in for some stalkage. The best of best of luck to you, lovely one. Luffs xxxxxxxxx

Ariesgirl · 10/02/2011 10:13

Popped not pooped obv.

That was a bit a a fluffy message - soz. Have a black eye and a bar stool on the head.

ginhag · 10/02/2011 10:16

Aries my lovely I am actually quite in the mood for fluffy today :)

Also Grin at pooping
