Scorpette · 07/02/2011 21:23

My trumps are being used by North Korea in their chemical weapons development programme Sad

Muse, it's fab you're on ML but the death of the Sky box is an absolute pisser. If there's one time in your life when you can - nay, should! - laze about watching primo/crappy (whatever floats yer boat) telly, it's being on maternity leave. Can you watch ANY telly? What a buggeration. Still, chips, sos & Ross Noble sounds pretty good. OBEM not very exciting tonight, don't worry.

Is anyone else getting heart palpitations? I've been getting them summat wicked and it's horrible. Am also involuntarily gasping for air every few mins and feel v weak. Am totally calm and chilled when it happens (most of the day) so it isn't stress. Will mention to MW tomorrow but just wanted to know if anyone else has had similar/is having similar. Am presuming (hopefully correctly) that it's just crappy but par for the course.

Medee · 07/02/2011 21:30

evening all, sorry you aren't laying yet gin.

Did I see HeartLady with a packet of cigarettes as they went outside?!

owlbooty · 07/02/2011 21:40

Thankfully I managed to get through differs' pilates without killing anyone with guffs so that was nice (for them; holding it in for an hour was not). Scorps yours sound terrifying. Maybe lay off the sprouts? Grin

I've only had palpitations/breathlessness when I have been having a panic attack. Which, thankfully, has not happened in a while but when it did I wasn't particularly stressed, twas just my body being weird and giving me random adrenaline fix for no good reason. Might it be that?

Backinthebox · 07/02/2011 21:47

Now, Gin, you CAN have a gush and it not be your waters. Tis what I had with TT at 36 weeks, and I was most pissed off not to be taken seriously by the MWs and told I had wee'ed myself. When I had LG I told my independent MW about it, and she tutted and went 'ignorant MWs!' It turns out when your body is getting ready for birth you make lots of 'juice' to lubricate it all, and it can get a bit trapped on the wrong side of the cervix, and if the baby suddenly shifts position it just sloshes out. Makes sense I suppose, but a lot of MWs don't even know about this Hmm. I had loads of it come out. Was most put out to be made to wait another 6 weeks for her.

Scorpette · 07/02/2011 22:06

Is not a panic attack, Booty. It's just been virtually constant over the last few days and I'm not in the least bit stressed (well, apart from the headaches). Although you say yours happened when you weren't stressed, so is confoosing. I don't feel sad, worried, whatever. I can be absent-mindedly flicking through a mag and eating some yoghurt and it kicks off - not very worrisome! My Mum wonders if it's anaemia, as that can cause it.

Hope MW has some answers. Am sure it's just a regular pg thang. My BP is still bog-standard normal.

I hate sprouts! Mine are so... eggy Blush (and have laid off eggs, too!)

Medee, v judgeypants if she did have fags! Still, she has been the first person in the series to say 'minge', so we have to give her that Grin And her face when her DH said on the phone 'she had forceps so it was easy' was priceless. Hmm indeed!

(Sorry, Muse. You can watch it on catch-up ASAP)

rocketleaf · 07/02/2011 22:09

I have had the odd little flutter score but i was a wee bit prone to them prior to being diffed so haven't really worried about it. If they are happening a lot then best to get it checked out. Good job you have MW tomorrow anyway.

Muser · 07/02/2011 22:37

I am not watching it if there are forceps. They are the only thing that give me the fear about birth. And I've been reading a lot about why they shouldn't give me the fear, but they still do.

I think I shall listen to my hippo cd instead.

Scorpette · 07/02/2011 22:49

They give me The Fear too, Muse. But it was that woman with the heart problems and it was much safer for her. Next week looks set to promise a chilled water birth, so huzzah!

Ocarina · 07/02/2011 23:09

Oh gin, that's rubbish. Hope Mooch calmed down and you all get a good night's sleep.

I'm jealous of the mat leave Muse - I decided earlier today whilst having a hopelessly unconstructive unmotivated day that I though it ought to start now Hmm. Only 6 months to go.... But rubbish timing by the sky box - have you got some good books?

BB I'm not surprised you're menkulling, but hope you're managing to enjoy it at least a bit too. It still doesn't feel all that real to be honest, no sign of a bump so all I have to show for it is a severe need for sleep and constantly being hungry. And another trip to the hospital tomorrow to see the consultant this time. That will be fun I'm sure....

CluckyKate · 08/02/2011 07:47

Thanks for explaining Boxy - sounds plausible now. Who needs MW when you have the power and wisdom of ESH?!?!

Still no baby - this one takes stubbornness to another level. Nice relaxing day planned - foot lady coming again, long walk with dog and more secks...lucky me Grin

ginhag · 08/02/2011 08:39

Yep, useful info box :)

Although it hasn't actually stopped completely, and last night when I went to bed (and forgot pants + pad when putting jammies on...twat) I was just dropping off to sleep n realised my trousers were soaked. Really soaked.

As I don't actually keep a bucket up my fanjo I just can't see how this can all be discharge? And it's not wee either...

I am sorry to be so 'memememe' at the mo, promise to resume normal service once I stop leaking! (just nearly spelt 'once' with a 'w'! This speaks volumes about my state of mind.)

Yours sincerely,

Ginhag Soggypants

ginhag · 08/02/2011 08:40

Ps grr to no baybee clucks but yay to a lovely day!

CluckyKate · 08/02/2011 08:50

After 8 months of being preggers I think you're entitled to be a bit mememememe SloppyGin....'tis hard not to be, no?

Continued leakage does sound like it's waters - not that I'm an expert Hmm. Guess you'll be back to see the MW again today so good luck with that Smile

BarbiesBeaver · 08/02/2011 09:13

Hope you get some more answers today Gin. Continued leakage does sound quite excessive.

Um, I am freaking out a lot today. Been having periody continuous cramps since yesterday and some spotting this morning. And my boobs have stopped hurting, which was the give away last time. I think I might be fucked. Am waiting for a phone call from my fertility clinic nurses to see if they can see me today. Any good wishes would be most welcome. I don't want this to go tits up again, I'm not sure how much more I can take.

ginhag · 08/02/2011 09:13

I phoned them (as I was told to if there was any more gushing...)

Got a woman who seemed really interested. And asked me if by 'gush' I meant 'a little bit' Hmm

I have to lie down then move about for a bit n see what comes out. Then phone them. What fun :)

HighPriestessBoo · 08/02/2011 09:19

Oh Barbie Candle lit. Hope the FC call back soon and can see you asap. Am still off sick so will be on and off here and available for hand holding if you need it.

laurielou · 08/02/2011 09:21

Gin I for one do not accept your apology for your mememe posts. Perfectly entitled. Again I know not of breaking waters / weeing yourself / leaky extra water, but what Boxy has said sounds more sensible than the hospital. I hope you don't have to wait too long.

Muse yey for the ML, boo for the death of Sky box. Great timing, eh? Maybe dust off the ole Betamax?

Clucky C'mon! What can we do to help? More nipple tweaks? No? You sure?

I stoopidly watched forceps last night. Even more stoopid as my mum has been reminiscing & got out all our baby notes & she had forceps delivery. The FORCE that MW was tugging! It was like James & the Giant Peach. But HeartLady seemed totally cool about it.

My farts smell of roses Grin

laurielou · 08/02/2011 09:24

x-posts there. Barbie You have all my good vibes coming your way. I hope you can speak to the FC soon. Take things easy, x

Orchid12 · 08/02/2011 09:45

BB candle lit here too. Really hoping you manage to get an appt sorted soon.

Gin sounds like a barrel of laughs you're having Hmm Good luck with the descriptions of 'gushing', sounds like they are interesting conversations to be having with people over the phone!!

Scorps no idea re the heart palpitations. I can often hear my heart beating when I lie down which is irritating but nothing more than that, so I can't help. Hope the MW has some answers for you.

I didn't see OBEM last night as was in bed early again. Sounds like a good job I didn't - a forceps delivery is not high on my agenda. I have recently had Mr O and my mother on my back about choosing a hozzie birth this time. My mother blatently came out and asked if it was because I couldn't deal with the pain again and had a low pain threshold!! I was more than a little angry with her as even if that was the reason behind my choice, surely I shouldn't be made to feel bad about it? I feel that I have set the precedent by having one home birth and am now expected to have another. I may well change my mind, but the stubborn bit of me now wants to tell them all to stuff it and I'll go to the hozzie regardless. My actual reasoning for wanting to go in is to a) get a mess free waterbirth and b) to let mini O stay at home with minimal disruption to him. Anyhoo - we'll see. I still may not have an option as I have the scan on Thursday, at which point I'll be told if I can go over to MW led care or stay on consultant led.

owlbooty · 08/02/2011 09:49

BB I know it's not going to calm you at this point but I had massive period-like cramps and spotting all through week 5 - whereas when the mc happened I had spotting then bleeding THEN the cramps.

Got everything crossed that this is just things getting settled in. xx

BarbiesBeaver · 08/02/2011 09:59

Thanks everyone. Booty that does help. Before I had brown spotting and then weird crampy aches a few days later. Were your cramps continuous this time when it was ok?

rocketleaf · 08/02/2011 10:01

Candle lit here for you to BB I hope you can get some answers asap, in the mean time sending you ultra sticky velcro, super glue vibes.

gin perfectly entitled to be mememe, if you ask me, sounds like a head fuck, hope you also get some answers as I am also not sure where that much fanjo juice could be hiding to gush that much. (oh the joys of things to come!)

clucky you day sounds lovely although of course I=I know you would rather be laying right now. Hope the foot lady does the trick this time (how have you managed to find one that does home visits!)

I didn't watch OBEM either as was watching Outcasts instead. Pretty glad by all accounts. In fact my accidental tactic of missing it then judging if I am going to watch it or not from all of your comments has worked out pretty well so far, so I think I'll keep it up. :o

LadyGoneGaga · 08/02/2011 10:16

Sending good vibes to BB. Symptoms do tend to come and go at this point. And spotting not always bad, especially if it's brown. When I mc'ed it went red pretty charpish whereas with MiniG it just stayed brown. Have everything crossed for you - I know how agonising it all is.

OP posts:
owlbooty · 08/02/2011 10:23

They were up and down quite a lot but present most days during that week, sometimes quite severe to the point where I was convinced the droid was arriving particularly once the spotting started - whereas with the mc the bleeding had been going on for 12 hours with no cramps, and then once the cramps finally began they got progressively and rapidly worse over a period of about 5 hours until they were proper contractions (ouch).

Now stand still whilst I apply this superglue :)

Muser · 08/02/2011 10:24

Everything crossed for you BB. I hope it's just your baby burrowing in deeper and making itself comfy.

I am currently laying in bed listening to Woman's Hour. Now this is the life. I hope gin has stopped gushing.
