BB, Another candle lit here. Hope you can be seen ASAP

If it helps at all, I had a lot of cramping in the first trimester and worried quite a bit about it. MW told me that some women just have more 'sensitive' wombles than others. Hope it's just that.

Have had 4 hours sleep and a stonking headache. Am just going to a drooling wreck at the MW appointment. Took my pulse last night when my heart was hammering v badly and it kept missing a beat Confused Could also hear my heartbeat in my ears when trying to sleep and it was missing a beat then too. Can't be right (ages ago, I took part in a hospital trial that involved me taking my pulse for 5 mins am and pm for 6 months, so I know I don't normally have an irregular heartbeat).

Orchid, I know you won't but I wish you'd tell your mum that if she's that obsessed with a home birth then she can go have one Grin Surely no-one else gets a look-in when YOU decide where you will feel safest and happiest giving birth. It's not like you're having an ingrowing toenail sorted out!

Scorpette · 08/02/2011 10:28

PS More smooches for poor old Ginny

TwinkleToes76 · 08/02/2011 10:36

BB how worrying for you. I have everything crossed for you. x

Ivegotmrbitey · 08/02/2011 11:06

BB absolutely everything crossed for you. Also wanted to add that buzzwams were only hurty for a few weeks then became suspiciously normal until the other night when they made up for it. Hope you are being seen soon and get some reassurance. xxx

Scorps I am doing the beat skipping from time to time, heart skips a beat and then does a massive one to make up for it. Terrifying! It's called something and is common in differs. Will ask my mum as she is nurse and identified it last time. Brady something or other....

Norks my differ book says that well meaning but ill thought out advice is about them, not about you. You are making a decision based on your needs which are different to last time. Pah! to other people's two penn'orth!

Ivegotmrbitey · 08/02/2011 11:06

was really pleased with Norks above, shame about the bold fail Sad

LadyGoneGaga · 08/02/2011 11:10

Should say as well, BB if you are spotting then your woble will get irritable and crampy as it is trying to get rid of the bllod. so you would expect a bit of cramping even if it is quite innocuous bleeding.

Gin it definitely sounds like waters to me if it keeps coming like that. Have you smelt it? Apparently waters have a sweetish smell - maybe different to FJ? I thought part of your waters can you but leave other stuff intact so could be that? Any sign of any more periody pains?

BarbiesBeaver · 08/02/2011 11:46

OK have heard back from lovely nurse and she says all sounds normal at this stage but ring if cramps get proper painful and red blood. She said the hormones are changing your cervix and uterus which makes the cramps and spotting. Will try to rest and stop freaking out now. Thanks everyone, sorry for being so mental, hopefully all will calm down now.

rocketleaf · 08/02/2011 11:53

Biiiig hugs BB its natural for you to worry but it does sound like there is no need at this stage. Little blighter just wanting to get your attention maybe? Wink fyi I nearly set foire to a painting as I had stupidly left the candle burning right under neath it. Luckily it is one of the crappy ones I did, not one of the ones TBs best mate did that are actually worth money. Seriously don't think I should be allowed out of a padded cell at the moment! (but at least I didn't air punch the candle)

LadyGoneGaga · 08/02/2011 11:53

Phew, when are you having your scan, BB?

OP posts:
BarbiesBeaver · 08/02/2011 11:55

Don't set fire to your house! You're turning into Bitey.

BarbiesBeaver · 08/02/2011 12:14

Bright red bleeding now when I last went to the loo. Fuck.

Ivegotmrbitey · 08/02/2011 12:17

Yay BB! Think it is the baybee's way of bracing us for a lifetime of worring about them!

Yesterday's glass based accident was smashing my bosses lamp during a "please extend my contract" meeting Blush. What horrors will today bring??

The heart thing beginning with brady.. is bradycardic scopes but that is different and is super slow heart rate. The other thing is called something and is common in differs and I have now stopped making any sense at all! My differ book told me that this week I am pushing around an extra 25% of my normal blood volume so it maybe because of that?

I am enjoying a bout of night terrors at the moment. I have had them in the past and they tend to hit in the first half hour or 45 minutes of sleep. Because I am waking at least twice in the night to pee I am going straight back into the ilght sleep danger zone. The FDH (and possibly the neighbours) are not getting much sleep at all thanks to my screams and I am a bit worried about the adrenaline rush and whizzing heart rate being bad for the baybee. Think I will ask the MW at my appointment tomorrow. The FDH finds it as traumatic as I do because apparently I am sitting up ith my eyes wide open staring straight past him and screaming at top volume. He confessed to looking over his shoulder in trepidation because my fear is so real!

Tonight I am going to try not drink past nine oclock and see if that cuts down the toiilet trips. I'm sure it's the hormones again, I tend to get them around the same time I have PMT when I get them usually.

LadyGoneGaga · 08/02/2011 12:20

BB can they pull your scan forwards? Or go to the EPU? Think you need to know what is going on. Lighting a candle for you.

OP posts:
owlbooty · 08/02/2011 12:27

Oh dear :( it's so horrible not knowing what is going on . There are a good number of other people on here who have had red blood and it's been okay - is v.scary though.

Got everything crossed xx

CluckyKate · 08/02/2011 12:29

Glad you've had some reassurance from the nurse BB. How far gone are you??? P'raps you can get them to give you an early scan to ease your mind.

Palpitations sound like a worry too Scorpelino, on top of all the other shit you're having to put up with. Plausible explanation there from Bitey so fingers crossed the MW says the same.

Finally someone who's interested eh Gin - about bloody time too, especially taking all the other symptoms into consideration

As for forceps deliveries people, try not to get your knickers in a twist. LC was forceps and it really wasn't that bad - must be the resemblence of instrument or torture that puts people off but is no more scarey or brutal than, say, ventouse.
Also worth remembering that OBEM is a TV program so they won't be showing the dull, straightforward births - for that reason I've decided to avoid until this baby arrives as I don't want to fill my head with the horror of negative birthing and instead have been blubbing at the many peaceful births on u-tube & various hippo websites.

Ivegotmrbitey · 08/02/2011 12:40

Sorry BB cross post. Can you go to the early pregnancy unit? They will be able to check you out and say what is going on. xxx

Scorpette · 08/02/2011 12:41

Thanks, Bitey, that makes a lot of sense. Have been working on the presumption it's a normal differ symptom, albeit a very weird-feeling one :) Bet MW says the same, like Kate points out. :)

BB, agree you should maybe go to the EPU to get some answers/reassurance. I can't remember what week you're on - some bleeding is v common between wks 8-12; summat to do with the cervix changing and sorting itself out. You must be feeling so scared, poor thing. Wish I could do this is RL---> SQUEEEEEEEEEEEZE.

rocketleaf · 08/02/2011 12:48

Oh BB i think EPU or early scan would be a good call. lighting another te light now and promise not to burn the house down.

Bitey i think the word you are looking for is arrhythmia for the irregular heartbeat thing? Fairly common apparently and nothing to worry about in 99% of cases if a little disconcerting! Best gt it checked tho score for sure.

Night terrors sound awful and must be very hard on FDH as well as you!!! Hope the hormones settle down enough soon and they stop, last thing you both need.

clucky think you are very wise re OBEM, i would have swerved it totally if people hadn't been talking about the lovely waterbirth one on here, think thats the only one I watched. My freind is due in 2 weeks and shes watching it, I think she is MAD.

ginny any more leakage? Have you rung the interested MW back if so?

HighPriestessBoo · 08/02/2011 13:09

Oh BB I am crossing everything I possible can for you lady.

CurlyCasper · 08/02/2011 14:09

just delurking to say i'm sending eshlove and good thoughts to BB.

also, re OBEM, the pink t-shirt mum's second stage was like watching my own. Waters on the bed, g&a taken away for pushing, too late for epi, face presentation etc. I was the complete oppsite in earlier labour though. At 3cm i was reading and refusing even paracetamol, she was a banshee. But She was only panicking because of a bad past experience, but did fine in the end. As has been said, it's all about what works for tv.

Luffs to you all

BarbiesBeaver · 08/02/2011 14:35

Thanks soaked through one pad now and cramps are worse. I'm not even 6 weeks so doubt a scan would show much, and it can't stop the inevitable if it's going to happen. Going bac to bed now to try to pretend nothing is happening.

Ocarina · 08/02/2011 14:43

Oh, BB, I don't know what to say. Is MrBeaver around to look after you? I hope the pretending nothing is happening is working and you're suitably distracted - if you're managing that I am very impressed.

HighPriestessBoo · 08/02/2011 14:51

Oh Barbie :( Much love to you

owlbooty · 08/02/2011 14:58
