Hi All

New to this thread and newish to MN. I'm defecting from BabyandBump which is a bot too sacharine (sp?) for me. That and the ridiculous tickers were doing me head in. Wish I'd discovered this sooner. Anyway, will try to skim a few of the past posts but obviously no way I'm going to catch up. Just thought I'd say Hi. My Due date is 13th of June but have a horrible feeling I'm going to be late.

NurseSunshine · 02/03/2011 13:03

Me too, supersunny. I went to bed with a v-shaped pillow, one between my knees and one under my bump. Ended up throwing them all out and sleeping (if you can call it that) on my front with my bum in the air listenng to DP snore like a warthog. Very grumpy today!

Welcome chilli, be careful, Sasa might take an unhealthy liking to you!

Merlion I have to take my own lucozade for the test - how rude! 410ml of the original fizzy stuff (when bottles come in 380 or 500ml -hmmmmm) at least I know it won't be that yucky treacley stuff that some people have to have. Am almost certain that I'll throw up after drinking it on an empty stomach though - I am very delicate in the guts dept at the mo.

Nurse, have my second piece of 'go bollocks' advice in 2 days. She sounds like an idiot. Throw things at her if you see her again :)

Lovely to see mrsbigw back with a new hat on.

Still LOVING all the names and think those keeping a secret are v sensible too (although don't you want to share a leeeeeetle bit?!)

Leroy sounds like your LO might be taking sleeping position hints from Daisy then. Glad all is ok.

Welcome chilli - yeah steer clear of all the chilli munchers on here..weird lot, wouldnt catch me eating weird stuff like that

Full day today with a young man with big muscles -we've been clearing the last room ready for building works and new carpet. Really feels like the home stretch now. Actually I've been doing alot of active sitting and supervising with the occasional token shuffle with a bin bag...couldnt call that helping really but the will was there. Got to resign myself to sleeping on the sofa bed for 2 weeks now if it will take my weight.

Nothing else to report - had a bit of a blub in yoga last night (not farting related) as so down about all the 'danger signs' I seem to have. Have decided to stay positive instead - nothing I can do except stay healthy and calm so thats my new resolution.

x

CMH1stbaby · 02/03/2011 16:01

good attitude jasmine, calmness wins out and if choc biscuits, houmous and farting help, all the better!

leroy - pleased to hear it was good news and I can't believe how much these babies wiggle and move about! hearing the heartbeat shocks me everytime, Its more like a steam train than a baby!!

have also tried the love hearts remedy today as a chaser to a giant dairy milk bar.. perhaps it might have been better to avoid the choc in the first place but thats my version of chilli sandwiches / biscuits in houmous / all those other weird combos that were mentioned! I'm a bit dull really...

8rubberduckies · 02/03/2011 16:02

Settling in for the long haul to catch up on the last 24 hours... Smile. I could be here for some time....

moomin156 · 02/03/2011 16:37

moomin156 · 02/03/2011 16:41

As my DH put it.......Aldershit

OP posts:
jasmine51 · 02/03/2011 16:42

Ah...see your point there....

moomin156 · 02/03/2011 16:44

Never been personally so have no idea what its like......just know its a long way. I guess it could have been worse and been an overseas posting. At least it is in the uk

Ah dont get upset, its not a bad place! Aldershot got a bad reputation years and years ago when the accommodation was a disgrace and relations in the town were bad - we're talking over 30-40 years ago! Since then the accommodation has been completely redone and the town now takes pride in its military connections so it is not the same place...but reputations are hard to shift! It has great connections into London, the town has had alot of investment and if you want to go further afield there are some lovely family areas, open countryside, great walks and one of the best theatres in the UK for pantos with your DC!
Honestly, once you've got over the pita of moving, you'll find its a good place. When you arrive I'll rush over and give you a big hug before taking you to a nice tea shoppe somewhere, yeah!

Is your DH a Rifle?

moomin156 · 02/03/2011 18:05

Thanks jasmine......think its because its the first move, it wasnt on our list so you mentally prepare yourself for one of those and then the goal posts move. Im pg with our first child and i will be moving from the area i have lived for 10 years with my parents 20min down the road and all the friends that i have made. It just feels that i will have no support other than DH, but i know thats not the case.
He is QARANC.......

Also moomin you have Winchester close by which is GORGEOUS... plus the new forest fairly close by AND the English Riviera :o

You will make friends in no time. I am just starting to here in Scotland and am confident that there will be many more come along once the LO is born. I'm sure you will be the same too.

Big hugs...

Now I'm off to do my sun salutation :o see you all later.

jasmine51 · 02/03/2011 18:54

moomin all very understandable. There is a MN group for Aldershot and Farnham by the way, you could say hi there if you havent already found it. Ah, he's a medical man? Has alot in common with my DH who was a class 1 in the Rifles (a long time ago now). Ive just told him about your DH via skype and he agrees there are ALOT worse places than Aldershot! x

sasa compounded my farting problem today by eating baked beans...havent felt LO move for hours..thing he's traumatised by what mummy has been doing!

moomin156 · 02/03/2011 19:19

Feeling a bit better now. DH is now stressed as i was so upset. Doesnt know what to do to make it better. Says i cant be like this everytime we have to move. Think its worse as its the first one.
Have eaten a huge plate of mash potato with fishfingers and peas as some comfort. what i really need is an extra large glass of Wine

OP posts:
NurseSunshine · 02/03/2011 19:49

Have a glass of wine Moomin, (maybe not a huge one!), but a little one if you think it will make you feel better. And some chocolates. And a virtual cuddle and bunch of St Davids St Davids St Davids St Davids St Davids St Davids St Davids St Davids St Davids St Davids St Davids St Davids from me :) I'm not surprised you're upset, the prspect of upping sticks and moving to somewhere you don;t know anyone is scary but if you put the effort in to really get out there you'll be OK :) You have the perfect excuse to go out and meet people, toddler's groups, baby massage, etc.

Jasmine are you really eating choc biscuits and hummous? I haven't had any weird pg cravings but feel I ought to try gherkins and ice cream at least once!

All went well at the MW thankfully, heard the lovely strong heartbeat, urine was clean as a whistle with not a whiff of glucose and my blood pressure and everything was fine :) When I asked her if she thought I was too big for 25 weeks she sort of looked at my like Hmm and said no, I was exactly right for 25 weeks so suck on that stupid horrible girl! Grin

moomin156 · 02/03/2011 19:52
