So Halo today is your last day at work? Hurray! You are so organised with your nursery. Before B came along we had painted the walls white and built new full size wardrobes and a chest of drawers but left the decorating til we knew if baby was a boy or girl. We are thinking of moving her to her not yet built cot(bed) in a couple of weeks time. (Currently i sleep in the spare room with her in her moses basket and me in the single bed, her curtains are up and i had to buy a pink single duvet cover to match and have ordered some wall stickers from Vertbaudet to match her pink gingham nursery stuff. Great to see your bump pictures and the difference, looking back i wish i had dome that more.
Crazybutterflylady you are having a girl, congrats, check out all the butterfly stickers on Vertbaudet! Commiserations on the heartburn, there were times i was even swigging gaviscon whilst stopped at traffic lights. Eventually got ranitidine and it made a massive difference and the old wives tale must be true as B had a full head of hair. Your 4d picture is wow, features are so clear!
Cherry glad you took advice and got checked out for a quieter baby, the same thing happened to me because of the anterior placenta and I just got monitored. I was 33 weeks then and the radio was on in the unit and on the radio came driving home for Christmas on Greg Jame?s 10 minute takeover and it turns out it was a sign as we drove her home for Christmas on 23rd Dec! Are you still debating the buggy situation? I have a quinny but had shopping basket envy when i saw a girl with the i candy at is really roomy. Also thanks for asking after me and spurring me into getting back in touch
Kurlyyou are really doing your research, I have avoided baby books about routines etc as i know i have the kind of personality that would have to follow it to the letter so have avoided them and learning from the bab, friends and other mums at baby massage etctry to learn from the baby. I totally agree with Pixie?s advice about breastfeeding, there are no gard and fast rules and everyone i talk to has a very different experience but ine thing is for sure you will know when they want something! Don?t leave hospital until you are confident about doing it if it works out for you and keep asking the midwives for advice or even just to watch you feed as i found that helped a lot.
Crazydayz congratulations on your twins, i love the idea of twins, instant family!
Highheels delighted you are now getting to enjoy a proper bump after your stressful start and ignore the comments, it continues once the baby is here. I keep getting told that B is thriving which is code for ?she?s a big girl!? Is your 20 week scan this Friday? I also had a surprise and didn?t buy any unisex other than a packet of newborn and 0-3 months white sleepsuits and my sister was nominated to get me nice gender specific sleepsuits. I don?t know how i managed it but we ended up leaving hospital with her in a baby blue sleepsuit with white dots on it, the pink trim was covered up by her cardigan so she looks like a boy in her leaving hospital car seat pic!
mrs w I hope your pins and needles is not Carpal tunnel as it is very annoying, try and sleep with your hand(s) above your head or on a v shaped pillow and keep an eye on any rings you wear and take them off as a precaution. I have only just got my engagement and wedding rings back on and still have carpal tunnel but have to wait 9 months to get nerve tests on the NHS to get an official diagnosis! Don?t stress about the measurements ? sometimes i measured 6 weeks ahead but was all bump and she was born at term +3!
Aly your picture of kai is adorable, i love his blond hair!
Toria congratulations! I had to fake drink on my 30th birthday and managed to get away with it, syou can get alcohol free champagne in Sainsbury?s and in asda you can get alcohol free wine called fre by sutter home or a similar brand, it is disgusting but decanted into a different bottle can be deceptive, also soda and lime can be disguised as g&t if that is your poison!
Ok i noted down some tips whilst going through the thread
100% agree with bunny and aly on the make up for hospital and would add straighteners if you use them, i felt great when the visitors came and i had a bit of make up on and i could not live without the garnier under eye concealer with caffeine ? it is a miracle worker!
Pack a couple of plastic bags, a bin bag to put dirty clothes in at the hospital so you can keep them separate or send home with your dh/dp
I also regret stock piling nappies as i have about 150 Huggies size 2 and they have been leaking so much prefer Pampers. Still working my way through the 19 packets of wipes i accumulated!
Better go she has been hanging out on her jungle playmat for ages whilst I caught up, will not leave it so long next time and good luck to imminent arrivals and fingers crossed for more bfps!
Will try and post a picture of Beth now too ...
