Ok ladies, here's the new thread, let's hope it's a lucky one!

MissFlick · 25/11/2010 01:14

Morning All,

A new thread! how exciting :) Fingers crossed that all of our minutes do come at once and that we son have some BFP?s to kick off torias thread in style!

toria please don?t apologise. You know how awful I felt last month when my best friend , ttc buddy and work colleague announced her pregnancy. I felt awful for a good five days or so so please allow yourself time to come to terms with it and be kind to yourself over the next few days.I feel ok about it now and can happily talk to my friend about her pregnancy but she is currently doing my head in by whinging about every last thing. Mr.Flick has nicknamed her ?Pregzilla? so I know that it is not just me being all bitter and twisted! I hope Harry Potter helped cheer you up- I am desperate to see it but it doesn?t come out here until 16th December which is the day that Mr.F and I fly back to the UK for Christmas- yipeeee!

cave I agree with how gorgeous you look in the Issa dress! The colour is just perfect with our skin colouring and your dark hair. What a beauty! Well done on your goog progress too. I think that your doctor will definitely be keen to run some tests in January seeing as you have been such a patient patient! Grin

raspberry I think that the amount that needs to get up there does even though it can feel like most of it is going to waste! I do fifty pelvic floor squeezes afterwards- no one has told me to do this, it is just my own way of feeling like I am giving the swimmers a helping hand on their mission. Other people have mentioned putting a pillow under their bum to keep their pelvis tilted. Glad that you have some special time planned this weekend- can?t wait to hear about the light box. Let us know when you have tried it out. My MIL has one as she suffers from SAD and she swears by it.

Sorry to hear about ERTD tiger :( I don?t think you have anything to worry about with menopause yet my love- good luck with the charting and at the doctors today. Let us know how you get on.

garden what a lovely husband you have going to the doctors on his own to see about his swimmers! Bless him, as good as Mr. F is I think I would have had to coerce him there. That is very exciting about having the IVF as soon as April-You know how quickly time passes so April will be here before you know it! I?m sure that you won?t need it though as you still have these three more cycles of Clomid and people say that the Clomid stays in your system for a while after you have finished all of your courses too. Of course you also have the pregnancy chair so you have no worries! Wink Seriously though, that is a great deal that your PCT can offer with the part private, part NHS. I wish more PCTs did similar things. Hope you enjoyed the celebration dinner :)

slow I hope your DH got home in time! Glad your OPK finally went positive in the end:)

Sorry about your car tomboy :( Hope you can get some SWI in to take your mind off it.

josie please don?t worry about bringing the thread down! We?re here to listen and support so come and tell us how you?re getting on xxx

truff glad there is still no ERTD and that the temp has gone back up.... are you still planning to wait until Monday to test? How many DPO are you now? Perhaps you can be teh first BFP of our lucky new thread?!

Waves to lanky, florin and womanly and sorry to anyone who I have missed :)

I?m feeling a bit better today still very tired and can?t be bothered to do anything at work but I think that is just a general Thursday, 3 weeks until the end of term feeling! Feeling a bit anxious today that ERTD could arrive at any minute. I think it should be due on Sunday/Monday as that will be 14/15 DPO assuming that I ovulated at the latest point (36hrs) after my HCG injection. It could even be earlier, although am not sure how progesterone interferes with your luteal phase. Anyhow, I have booked Monday afternoon off work to go and have my HCG blood test so I am hoping that I can be strong over the next few days and not POanyS?. I think I should be able to hold out as I know if I did POAS and it was a BFN I wouldn?t believe it so I think it?s better for my sanity to wait for ERTD or go for the blood test which will gibe a definite yes or no which even I will believe!

Me again, I just can't get enough of this new thread Wink I meant to ask garden whether when you POAS after your HCG shot you actually saw a mythical BFP?!

CaveMum · 25/11/2010 07:15

Ooooo new fred! [sticks kettle on]

Thanks for the lovely comments re the dress ladies Blush, you are a very flattering bunch!

Tomboy sorry to hear about your car. Did they take much or was it just random vandalism? A few months ago some idiot drove round our local town in the middle of the night firing a pellet gun at car windows. We didn't hear a thing but 4 cars in our street were hit, including DH's, and about 35 cars in total. Some people are just idiots.

Flick be strong if you can, can you do anything for the next few days to distract yourself? Visit friends in the evenings, go off for day-trips over the weekend? Keeping everything crossed for you!

Hope everyone has a good Thursday, it is nearly the weekend!

Karstan · 25/11/2010 08:59

I was avoiding posting on the last thread, wanted to leave room in case someone had a last minute bfp.

Here's hoping this thread is luckier.

MissFlick · 25/11/2010 09:07

I have been strong so far cave I had to go into the supermarket on the way home and had a waiver in the preg test aisle but somehow managed to resist. Managed to distract myself by buying lots of ingredients for a curry with all the trimmings- mango chutney, spicy lime pickle, naan bread and pappadums. I had better get cooking before Mr.Flick gets home from work. I also got mysef a nice bottle of red as I have really been craving red wine recently- is that a sign?! Grin

slowshow · 25/11/2010 09:19

Hooray for a new thread!

The Mr got home quite late in the end Flick, so we decided we couldn't be arsed Grin Neither of us want an August baby though, and I don't want to be newly pregnant over Xmas, so I think we might miss the window this cycle and start in earnest next cycle.

slowshow · 25/11/2010 09:33

raspberry - just wanted to reply to your question in the last thread about semen, er, running out of you Grin I read in my Zita West book that it liquifies a couple of minutes after ejaculation, and this is why it runs out of you, but it's normal and you shouldn't be alarmed about it, because plenty will still be inside, apparently. Some people talk about putting a Mooncup in after sex to keep it all in, but I can't see how that would work - I don't think sperm would swim up the sides of a Mooncup! I've been using one for YEARS and swear by it (for its intended purpose that is) but I can't quite imagine leaping out of bed immediately afterwards to put it in. There are some actions that need to be private, and that's one of them...

TigerseyeMum · 25/11/2010 10:02

Morning all :)

New thread, how exciting!!!!

I am making a concerted effort this month - as my GP said, 'Stand by your beds'!!!! Grin

He said my ever-increasing cycle was nothing to be worried about as a normal cycle could go up to 40, 42 days. I hope mine doesn't, but I am going to chart this month and check my temps.

raspberry I find I get a lot of 'leakage' too and use two pillows immediately afterwards. If you are doing it doggy style though, I'm not sure what you could do - a headstand maybe?? Grin

Pre-seed makes it more liquidy too.

I must go to work later, hiss boo.

gardenpixie · 25/11/2010 12:42

Oooooooh new thread, new thread! Good work Toria thanks for building us a new home.

Just a quick post from me as I have to work (how unreasonable) but wanted to say hi and Blush at my drunken posting last night.

Hope everyone's Thursdays are going well

xxx Grin

womanlytales · 25/11/2010 14:29

Wow, new thread, thank you. Missed ur post garden.. will read up later.

Florin · 25/11/2010 14:51

Wow loving the new thread [passes around the chocolate biscuits]
in regards to the lovely topic of semen we noticed when dh did his test sample it went really watery very quickly in the pot. It worried us at first but glad to hear it's all normal. slow had to show dh your answer as proof that it was all ok it going watery and he laughed but we are in the car with my parents heading off for a weekend away so my dad was asking what he was laughing at. Now waiting for ertd to turn up think it's very unlikely that I am pregnant so just want to get the disappointment over with. Now away for weekend and didn't pack pregnancy test so can'g be tempted!
I was tempted to try a mooncup (for what they were intended for) but kept telling myself that it was of course a waste of money as I will be pregnant soon and then will have no need for one.

JosieSmith1 · 25/11/2010 17:12

Evening everyone

Thanks for your support yesterday, I'm still not doing too well, couldn't stop crying this morning when i saw the snow, it means that the horse is not only stuck at the horrible yard, but also in her stable, which, with arthritis is far from ideal and I'm terrified the arthritis will get worse and I'll never be able to ride her again Sad. DH secretly booked his driving test for this morning only for it to be cancelled so chances are he'll not be able to do it until next year if the snow doesn't let up, so no chance of a rest for me. Just nothihng seems to be going right at the moment and I'm really struggling to keep on top of everything and not let it get to me, no chance of any respite as work is horrific and tbh I can't take time off as I need it for when the weather gets really bad and they wouldn't be able to manage without me (I'm not bragging it's true, I spend more time teaching the other 2 girls than doing my own work)

Sorry I haven't caught up properly but hope everyone is doing well xx

CaveMum · 25/11/2010 18:00

Josie you poor thing. You are having a time of it aren't you.
Does your yard have a no turnout policy when there is snow?
Is there a school or pen you can put her in for a bit to stretch her legs?

Have a (((hug))) from me and try to pamper yourself this weekend - nice food, good wine and a long soak on the bath are my orders!

JosieSmith1 · 25/11/2010 18:21

Thanks CaveMum that sounds like a good plan. There's no rules about snow at yard but the lane down is really long and she can't walk on it properly, she slipped last yr and went lame, the whole yard is an ice rink, can't even get 2 the school, and if I cud get her out they're not allowed hay!

ToriaPumpkinHead · 25/11/2010 19:05

Glad you like the thread girls, feel free to decorate Grin

Josie I second Cavey's instructions! Have a large glass of the wine that's eying me up from the top of the fridge

Flick Sorry you're feeling a bit naff still, stay strong til Monday!

News from me is that after a day of staying away, and me thinking "what if?" (usually greets me at lunchtime), ERTD arrived about twenty minutes ago. So that's me onto cycle five. Holy shit how time flies when you're having fun! Hmm

Tonight will consist of me dying my hair, searching through the house for booze and probably puting on The Holiday to weep to, though strangely, I'm quite calm. I knew it was a slim thing this month, and I still don't think I ovulated. It's nice to be logical about it all. And as previously stated, I will be spending December taking part in various tasks of increasing debauchery and not counting anything other than the doors on my adven calendar Grin

OP posts:
TomboyWife · 25/11/2010 19:47

Evening ladies, and ooh, shiny new thread! Here's hoping it's a few people's lucky one.

Josie sorry you're feeling so overwhelmed. I know how it feels when you just can't get things to go right and it's like the universe wants you to suffer. I hope things turn round for you soon.

My understanding re: semen is that it's perfectly normal and not problematic at all if most of it makes a quick exit. It's worth remembering that the swimmers themselves are a tiny fraction of the volume of the stuff. Most of it is just the water in the fish tank (if I may make a weird analogy).

That said, I always try to lie still and clench for a few minutes after a delivery. Hmm

Thanks for the sympathy re: the car. The vandals didn't take anything and in fact didn't even get in. It looks like they were trying to get in (obvious impact point just above the door latch, for example), but in the end all they did was break three windows and f*ck off again. The car's been towed to a local garage, but finding replacement glass is proving to be a challenge due to the car's age (it's only a few years younger than I am). Our best bet is probably a breaker's yard or a specialist dealer.

There's been a massive wave of car crime in our area recently, which is rather worrying. It looks like someone's been systematically stealing sat navs and the like.

I think I ov'ed overnight, which is slightly unfortunate given our lack of SWI yesterday. But we did get in a session on Monday, so here's hoping DH's swimmers are hale and hardy and long-lived.

TomboyWife · 25/11/2010 19:49

Sorry about ERTD Toria. Sad

slowshow · 25/11/2010 21:04

I love your attitude Toria. You want to drink at Christmas. I know I do!

"Water in the fish tank" is such a great analogy Tomboy. I hear you on the "lay back and clench" thing too Grin I think I ov'ed overnight as well. I had twangy dull pains for a few hours before I went to bed. Oh well!

Kaloki · 25/11/2010 22:06

Hey ladies, have been absent for a while, but wanted to update you and ask for some advice.

Firstly it turns out I probably dont have PCOS, despite having all the symptoms. But the tests did show up the fact that I didn't ovulate this cycle, the GP wants to run the tests again to see if this is a regular occurence :(

So what I was going to ask was, what website were some of you using to chart temps etc? I want to have a little more info to go to the GP with.

Sorry for all the ERTD's since I last joined you all, hopefully we are due a new BFP soon!!

CaveMum · 25/11/2010 22:20

Kaloki I used Fertility Friend (not charting at the mo).

If you have an iPhone there are also some Apps you can download such as Period Tracker.

Glad your GP is being proactive.

MissFlick · 26/11/2010 01:16

Morning All,

No news from me- no ERTD yet and am feeling a bit groggy this morning after consuming most of a bottle of red wine last night. I'm wishing this day away so I can have lots of sleep this weekend! I have lots of stuff to keep me distracted from testing cave a BBQ this evening, school fair tomorrow morning and then I need to go and buy a new dress for my friend's hen party next weekend.

kaloki I second the recommendation for FF for charting. Hope you get some answers soon

Sorry about ERTD toria but bring on the December festivities! Should my ERTD arrive I will focus on the same positive as you and I'll be putting my Christmas tree up on Wednesday so that will cheer me up too! I have just ordered The Holiday from Amazon to add to my Christmas movie collection- Elf is my favourite!

tomboy Also loving the analogy :)

josie you poor love :( Definitely look after yourself this weekend xxxxx

Florin hope you have a nice weekend away with your parents. When is your appointment at the FC?

Will pop back later when this red wine head has hopefully cleared!

CaveMum · 26/11/2010 07:01

Kaloki I've not met anyone that does yet!

Flick sounds like a good busy weekend for you. I can heartily recommend the Issa dresses if you want to treat yourself Wink.

DH and I are taking MIL to see Harry Potter tonight so I shall catch up with everyone at some point over the weekend.
