Thanks for all the yoga advice, really good to hear it recommended so highly in pregnancy. I do a mix of classes at the gym: zen, hatha & ashtanga. I have told the teachers - one says there's nothing I shouldn't do, the other says no twists... Confused I have to say, the ashtanga class last week absolutely wiped me out!

I'm doing a good job of staying calm and rational this evening, as I really wasn't earlier when I saw blood in my pants when I went to the loo. It's like a tea stain, and there's some very small traces when I wipe... I'm so worried it's all going wrong again, but it's not definitely that is it?

cherrycobbler · 18/10/2011 22:15

Hi late no personal experience but quite a few ladies on this thread had spotting and bleeding early on and now have bouncing babies. You poor thing tho, hope you manage to retain your calm positivity xxx

florin did you tell your parents and in laws in the end? How did they react? I was quite emotional and nervous telling ours, esp as it was early days.

LankyLegs · 19/10/2011 15:28

late how is the bleeding now? I hope all is well - I'm sure you are worried beyond belief but try and remember that not all bleeding is bad. As cherry said there are loads of ladies on here that had bleeding and everything turned out ok. Keep us posted and I am sure someone with some experience will be along to offer some words of wisdom. Have you sorted out your scan?

On another note (not that you are probably thinking about this I imagine) but I am doing a pre-natal yoga class as I saw it a good opportunity to meet some other mums as well as not be worried about whether we were doing yoga moves that would not be great for the baby. Plus as bunny said they spend a lot of time concentrating on the breathing that would help through labour as well as make you work that pelvic floor which is important.

Highheels wowsers - already back to the pole classes? Hope it went well! Thanks for the well wishes re the house - we are nearly there - I can see the end is in sight! After 10 months of works! God I could not wait when the bath was done a few months ago -I bet that was a warm welcome for you before Rose arrived!

Florin have you told your in-laws and parents? Hope they were over the moon for you. I am in your camp - if you have the impetus and money to do the works now go for it. You want to enjoy your mat leave with the little one with your extension and it not being spent getting on first name terms with builders (which is was inevitably happens if you are at home while the works go on.

Womanly has the spotting gone? I was with the others - I didn't tell most people until 15/16 weeks - as when we saw friends and other family really so there is no hurry - just make sure you are in the right place.

LateToThisBabyMalarky · 19/10/2011 19:10

Spotting has slowed almost to a stop now, feeling much better and more relaxed about it now. My appointment with the GP is on Friday morning and I'll hopefully be able to get a scan soon after. I'm 6+5 today so will be 7+ by the time I (hopefully) get a scan. I didn't realise I would be quite so paranoid about everything this time round, I need to take a chill pill (along with my Pregnacare vitamins Grin) I'm not even 7 weeks in for goodness sake!

Lanky and Cherry, you're both right, lots of ladies get spotting (and worse) and it doesn't mean anything. I will start looking ahead to pre-natal yoga Smile

Womanly, here I am banging on about my little tea-stain & you've had so much worse - hope your bleeding has cleared up?

highheelsandequations · 19/10/2011 19:53

late I had pink and brown spotting from 8 weeks, it was apparently a little patch on the uterus wall shredding away and the midwives told me it was very common. Was mostly when I wiped after going to the loo (sorry if TMI). I know what it's like to panic, especially after a previous mc, but please try and relax. The GP will probably tell you that spotting in early pg is fairly common, make sure they get you a referral through to the EPU or EPAC, our EPAC was fantastic, happy to speak to me on the phone when I was panicking again a couple of weeks after they saw me and then happy to give me another scan when the spotting started again after going away for a couple of weeks. Sending lots of hugs your way. xxxx

Florin · 20/10/2011 14:20

Told mil and she was literally jumping up and down with excitement. She then couldn't sleep with excitement so 4 in the morning she was going through her sewing materials to see what baby stuff she had knowing she can look but she is on a making ban until the scan! My parents were very excited too although also extremely cautious as my mum went through a lot of miscarriages, I think it's brought it all back to them and try are scared the same will happen to me. I am aware miscarriage is a risk but trying to think positive and enjoy the beginning of my pregnancy as much as possible.

bunnygirl80 · 21/10/2011 04:46

florin glad you enjoyed telling parents/ILs. Keep thinking positive and enjoy early pg as much as you can.

hh didn't see who the post about pole classes was from - for a minute I thought one of the pg people struggling to get up in the air [hshock][hgrin]

late/womanly hope your bleeding has cleared up and you can get on with enjoying being pg

cherrycobbler · 21/10/2011 09:42

Aw florin what a lovely reaction from your in laws! Can understand your parents reaction, my mum was more worried than excited at every stage of my pg. Once the baby came along though I was relegated to second place and baby is number one in my mum's list of favourite people Grin

late hope spotting has stayed away and Doc is helpful this morning. My first appt with the doc took all of five mins!

Happy Fridays all!

Just saw Toria on another thread, so had a little stalk and it seems she's being induced on Monday.

Good luck toria Smile

LateToThisBabyMalarky · 22/10/2011 11:17

Ooo yes, good luck Toria! Smile
I remember when she got her BFP over on FTF conception thread - can't believe her little one's on the way, doesn't feel like that long ago...!

Had my GP appt yesterday, all good and she booked me an early scan at the EPU for Tuesday morning (when I'll be 7+4). So, after that I'll at least know if this little bean has progressesd further than the other one, even though I know it's not a guarantee of anything. Spotting stopped & didn't come back, and GP didn't seem concerned about it. Smile

Florin, what a lovely reaction from your mil - makes me excited about telling our families! Fx it's all plain sailing for you &your little pip Wink

LateToThisBabyMalarky · 22/10/2011 18:59

Spoke too soon... Spotting's back Sad. Trying not to worry, I have the scan booked for Tues so will know one way or the other by then

Florin · 23/10/2011 08:55

late sorry to hear about the spotting, hope it stops soon.

LankyLegs · 23/10/2011 22:03

late how is spotting now? Am so sorry the little thing is causing you so much stress. Any way you can bring the scan forward to tomorrow? xx

LateToThisBabyMalarky · 24/10/2011 19:07

Thanks for your thoughts Lanky, the spotting stopped on Sun evening & hasn't come back today, so who knows what to think! [hconfused]
I'm exhausted by it all, and I'm not even 8 weeks yet! Fx the scan tomorrow provides the reassurance it's supposed to!

LankyLegs · 24/10/2011 21:59

Good luck with the scan and I hope you get some peace of mind after this. You poor thing I can imagine you are shattered after the last few weeks. Keeping fx for tomorrow x

cherrycobbler · 25/10/2011 08:42

Good luck with the scan today late xx

OP posts:
Florin · 25/10/2011 18:55

late hope the scan went well today.

I went for my first docs appointment today, I mentioned I had literally 1 spot smaller than a full stop of blood once on fri night and once on Sun afternoon. I wasn't worried about it as so little but doc has rushed through a scan appointment so going to be scanned tomorrow morning so now wetting myself about it. I am so worried they won't find anything. Especially as apart from tiredness, only slightly achey boobs which have grown a size I haven't had many symptoms.

LateToThisBabyMalarky · 25/10/2011 19:05

Hello all! Grin
See that grin? That's because I am a VERY happy Late tonight Grin. The 'reassurance' scan did exactly what it said on the tin and DH & I saw our little bean and it's flickering heartbeat GrinGrinGrin
It's 2 days further on, by measurement, than my original date, doc put it at 7+6. he wasn't concerned about the spotting at all, although said to go back if it got worse, obviously. Sooooo relived, this little one has already made it further than the first one did.

Florin, there's probably nothing wrong (hark at me! Wink), but really good you're getting an early scan, it has made an incredible different to how I feel about this pregnancy. Really hope it does the same for you, do you know when it is?

Thanks everyone for your support over the last week Thanks

LateToThisBabyMalarky · 25/10/2011 19:07

Ps Florin, I also have zero symptoms -I even did a pg test this morning before the scan to make sure Grin. Good luck for tomorrow Wink

cherrycobbler · 25/10/2011 19:40

Aw yay late so happy it went well!! It's pretty fab to see isn't it?! Grin

Hope tomorrow goes well florin, I felt sick with nerves before every scan even my growth scans at 30+ weeks, completely normal pregnancy behaviour. Fingers crossed for you x

OP posts:
Florin · 25/10/2011 19:41

late I was thinking about doing another test before my scan too, I keep worrying I have made it all up!
So glad your scan went well hope it's given you some reassurance. Do you have any more scans booked before your 12 week one? I already have an 8 week scan booked with my private gynae who I was seeing to get pregnant, I think I wil still keep this if tomorrow goes well. I am so nervous about this pregnancy, it's taken us 20 months to get this far and we are so desperate for this baby. Hasn't helped that my mum had lots of miscarriage so it so nervous about my pregnancy it's like she is convinced it will happen to me too. Plus our best friends who were pregnant (4 weeks ahead of us) have miscarried which has upset us and made us so much more nervous.
Hopefully all will be fine tomorrow.

LankyLegs · 25/10/2011 19:45

Late! Fantastic news! So pleased you got to see the little heartbeat and it's great that you are further along than you thought. I really hope you can start to enjoy it a bit more and think about the next milestone of the 12 week scan. Chuffed for you! x

Florin - as late said - hope you can take some reassurance from her situation and lots of others on here that have had some spotting. Let us know how you get on tomorrow - but try not to worry.

If it helps - my symptoms were pretty non existent as well. I think around 7 weeks I started feeling really sick and thats when I let myself believe a tiny bit that I was pregnant.

Womanly how are you doing? Have you started to tell folk yet? Hope you are enjoying it a bit more now.

Toria if you are lucking wishing you lots of luck! Report back when you get the chance and hope it all went well yesterday.

Gold any news?!

Florin · 26/10/2011 10:43

Had my scan and there is a baby! A little early for a heart beat she kept thinking she saw it but wasn't sure so going back next Friday for a rescan to check. Feeling a lot more positive now!

LankyLegs · 26/10/2011 13:36

Fantastic florin - glad you saw the little thing!

goldmaple · 26/10/2011 17:23

late really great to hear about your little bean all snug and doing what he/she should. I had spotting at 13 weeks... don't know why it happens but can be normal and no problems:)

florin glad your scan went well too:) and that you get another one so soon. Very reassuring until you can feel baby move!

lanky no news yet. 38+1 here. Everyone I know who is due after me is having there babies thou!! seems unfair as I am ready to meet bubba (although I will probably change my mind once that first contraction hits:) ) How are you feeling? Do you have a nice bump now?
