Congratulations late do you have any idea how far along you are? Just take it a day at a time, although that's easier said that done I know.

zippys Thank you for checking back, really hope we see you again soon. x

pixiestix · 10/10/2011 10:58

Late thats such fantastic news, congratulations! Smile I've got everything crossed for you.

Massive hug for Zippys - I hope you can take some hope and comfort from Lates post.

bunnygirl80 · 10/10/2011 22:17

That's great news late Hope you have a happy and healthy pg

goldmaple · 10/10/2011 23:41

late congrats! FX for a happpy and healthy 9 months! Do you get an early scan?

zippys really hope to see you back here as soon as you are ready!

roundtable · 11/10/2011 13:03

Hi, a flying visit. Good stalking people!!

After a long labour that didn't progress I eventually had a c section and Baby Round was born on the 20th September. He is gorgeous, do wish he'd sleep a bit more during the day so I can catch up on some sleep though!

Thanks everyone and good luck to those approaching the end and have happy, healthy pregnancies to the rest of you :)

LankyLegs · 11/10/2011 13:09

Zippys hope to see you here soon. Do pop in and let us know how you are.

Late fantastic news! Can understand your apprehension at this stage - take it easy and each day as it comes. So pleased for you.

Round congrats again - sounds like you are totally in love with your little one and hope the first few weeks are going well for you.

Gold - sounds like the shoot was fun! Hope going back into work wasn't too bad - the joys of having your own business!

highheelsandequations · 13/10/2011 20:38

zippys really hope to see you back here soon.

Congrats to late, understand the mixed emotions but hope you can relax and enjoy your pg soon.

Congrats to round and hope you're enjoying every minute of your LO.

Hope everyone else is good, anyone heard from toria recently?

LateToThisBabyMalarky · 14/10/2011 07:35

Thanks for the good wishes ladies, I'm finding this a funny old time...! I'm 6 weeks along today, but have yet to go & see the GP. My reluctance to make that first appt has surprised me, and funnily enough DH feels the same way. I emailed my lovely gynae doctor, who's been fantastic with me over the last 18 months, and she has said that I should ask the GP to refer me to the EPU for an early 'reassurance' scan at 6-8 weeks. So I'll get myself organised for that next week.

I think what it is, is that my first pregnancy had already failed by the time I got to 6 weeks, I just didn't know for another 2 weeks. So I look back at all the excitement I felt then through that lens. I'm looking for differences in how I feel & look to try to see that this one is different & won't go the same way. I'll give myself another few days of 'glass half empty' and then I'll pull myself together and start enjoying this pg Smile

LankyLegs · 14/10/2011 16:34

Late I can understand how you are feeling and you are taking the right approach. I don't think there is any rush to get to the GP as you said unless you need to get this early scan in which would be nice reassurance. I found it helpful not actually thinking too much about the future or visualising a baby and tried really hard to just focus on one day at a time and getting reassurance from each day passing being positive for the little things survival and growth.

We are here any time you have a woble or need to chat. Sorry if I am talking complete sh*t as well - just tell me to shut up if I am!

xx

Florin · 15/10/2011 08:48

Hello can I join? Used to be on the first time frolickeds ttc forum but have to admit I gave up when it all became to much and I was getting down about not conceiving. After 100mg of clomid and trying for 20months I have finally got my bfp. I am so excited but also scared stiff of it going wrong. Did everyone else find time dragged. We are going to pay for an 8 week scan which will be in 3 weeks and 3 days (not that I am counting Grin it seems forever away so want this baby to stick.
Anyway lanky found me over on the pregnancy boards and invited me over.

womanlytales · 15/10/2011 12:45

florin I remember you - congratulations and hope the time flies to that first scan :)
round Congrats to you too - I can't imagine what that must feel like to hold your LO in your arms...

An update from me - I made it to my 12 week scan but what a dramatic day it turned out to be. I feel if this were a cartoon my hair would be all white given the drama. The scan was yesterday - I had a lovely morning, feeling like the awful sickness was slowing fading away - no fogginess in the head or this general uneasiness or the nausea and discomfort every 90 minutes that required some form of food... so off I trotted along to my hospital for the afternoon appt. After about a 40 minute wait, The reception lady told me that she had forgotten to add my appt to the calendar and I just smiled back saying - I have all day so as long as they can fit me in today I had no issues at all... Then they called us for the scan. DH and I saw our baby - they described all the parts - and am glad because I wouldn't have known immediately except for the head perhaps - lol... she then pressed my tummy a few times to get the baby positioned in a particular way so that they could measure something for the Downs test. All done, I asked if I could go to the loo since I had clearly had too much water to drink. She and DH waited while off I trotted to the loo.... and what do I find - TMI - my panties soaked in red blood.... I rushed back to tell her and from there got moved to the A&E and then the EPAU.... They did another scan and again confirmed that the baby was absolutely fine - and they could not identify where the bleed came from.
The nurse suggested that it could have been my bladder... and I was like no - my pee is not red. So end of the day we came home... I have been spotting a bit since yesterday afternoon ...but nothing like that initial bleed......

Just when I thought I was finally getting out of the anxiety mode - I now find myself in the thick of it all again - with this red bleed... DH says that we have had two scans and in both the baby is absolutely fine with no indication of where this bleed came from... so he's like let's just believe in that and move on.....

I feel sore and badgered really - am not sure if I should just lie still or move around...

We were going to tell folks this week after the scan.. and now I feel I can't move or do anything till our next scan which scarily enough is now on our anniversary day. I want to be really positive and brave and hopeful and all that... but another 2 months... and knowing that this bleed is around and can surface at any time... I feel helpless... I also can't speak to my mom or best friend any more because so far they have worried so much on my behalf already and at each turn I only seem to have more worrying news to pass on to them.... I am sorry I am sharing it with you too.. Lord knows I turn off Mumsnet sometimes when I read all these stories and can't bear the pain that is out there.

The good thing is that the baby is safe and doing well and moving and even waved his hand at us during the scan....both scans were good...and there is nothing else anyone can do with this situation ... I read the bleeding thread and know that some women have faced this and gone ahead to have wonderful babies.. got to hang on to the positives...

pixiestix · 15/10/2011 13:30

Congratulations Florin!!!!!! Smile Smile Smile The first twelve weeks drag by sooooo slowly and for me at least were the very worst bit of pregnancy but hopefully the early scan will give you a bit more confidence. Fab news!

Late I understand completely where you are coming from but sometimes you just have to tell yourself "Right now, I am pregnant. Whatever happens in the future TODAY I am pregnant" and enjoy it that way through very very small steps.

Wise words from Lanky.

Oh bloody hell, Womanly that is so mean of mother nature. Just when you should be able to relax and enjoy your pregnancy Sad On the plus side, at least it happened at a point where you could see for sure that your baby is ok. Take comfort in that and try to keep positive xxx And congratulations on a lively, happy wriggly baby on screen - that is the best thing you could possibly have seen and you should cling on to that Smile

Sorry, I really should bugger off back to Post-natal but once a Frolicker, always a Frolicker and I can't seem to keep my nose out of this thread Grin

LateToThisBabyMalarky · 15/10/2011 18:48

Hey, congrats Florin, it's sounds like you've had quite a journey, fx it's all smooth going from here! Wink

Womanly, what a horrible time you must be having. Really hope that bleeding disappears as suddenly as it arrived, and soon, and leaves you to enjoy your pregnancy in peace.

Thanks for the wise words Lanky and Pixie, you talk a lot of sense. I get the idea of the 'right now I am pregnant' and clocking up the days like that. I will go and see the GP next week and get that early scan booked...

goldmaple · 16/10/2011 04:24

late i really think time does slow down in the first trimester! Take the small milestones (like each day, the scan, etc...) as they come.

womanly sorry to hear you are having such a stressful time! I can only reitterate what others have said - that the baby is doing well despite the bleeding. I hope the bleeding is gone, no harm done and you can relax and enjoy your pregnancy!

florin congrats! I remember you from the TTC board before I left as well as it was making me a bit crazy! So happy for you!

For the mums here:) I'm at 36+4 and have been getting AF like cramps. Did anyone else get these towards the end? Baby has dropped (i waddle now) and BH have been coming since week 28.

TheVampireEmpusa · 16/10/2011 21:39

Thought I'd pop by and see you lot, hope everyone is doing ok!

Haven't been doing so well here, had hyperemesis and had to be admitted into hospital with +4 ketones. Finally on the right combination of pills though, and the vomitting is under control. But I've been left feeling quite down on the pregnancy, even considering termination for a while. Which tells you just how bad it got, we were TTC for 2 years!!

I'm 15 weeks now, and bored of pregnancy already!

TheVampireEmpusa · 16/10/2011 21:45

Also Florin good to see you! Nice to see some of us old timer frolickers finally catching up!

cherrycobbler · 16/10/2011 22:48

OOOHHH congrats Florin!!! Course I remember you. So pleased for you, and also so pleased to see you back late, congrats! We can all relate to the terror of the first few weeks. As everyone else has said, just take it a day (or an hour) at a time. Have everything crossed for sticky beans for you. Early scans sound like a good plan, gives you something to break up the eternity of those first 12 weeks.

Womanly, firstly am so glad your scan went well, was thinking of you on Fri. But oh my gosh what a scare you must have had with the bleed. Have you had anything more since? How are you feeling? And are they going to give you any more scans?

Gold I got lots of AF cramps from about 34 weeks, ramping up till the end. Some, er, digestive cramps too. My body felt like it was just about to fall apart in the final couple of weeks! Ah, I remember the third trimester waddle [hsmile]. Hope you're getting to enjoy some of your mat leave.

Good to hear from you empusa, but sorry to hear about the hyperemesis, sounds horrendous, glad you've managed to find a combo of pills that have helped. Really hope it eases up a little bit at some point soon for you.

Back from hols - and they are very different with a bub in tow! Baby loved it though, and is currently very [hhmm] at being stuck at boring home, with just boring mummy for company Grin.

bunnygirl80 · 17/10/2011 09:08

Congrats florin

womanly glad your scan went well. The bleeding must have been scary, hope it's all settled now

empusa hope you're feeling better soon

gold I had no AF cramps or anything else until I was well into established labour. I think I'm pretty unusual in that respect though, almost everyone else I know had cramps etc for the last few weeks.

I really should leave you ante-natal lot alone as Will's almost 1 [hshock], but I can't help reading the thread. It's good to see the old-time Frolickers all finally getting their bfps

LankyLegs · 17/10/2011 10:03

Florin lovely to see you over here and congrats once again. How are your symptoms - getting many?

Womanly oh good god - the little thing is not making it easy for you is s/he? Wise words from the other ladies - and the fact that they saw the baby wriggling around etc is a great sign. Are you ok now - hope the bleeding has stopped? I also hope that you and your DH are starting to enjoy it all a bit more and that you got to tell people over the weekend as well - makes it all fee really real - which I found really wierd after keeping it a secret for such a long time. Let us know how you are getting on.

Late hope you are feeling more positive my dear - have you sorted out your early scan? That will be a good milestone to focus on for you.

Empusa goodness you poor thing. Sounds like you have had an awful few weeks. I really hope you feel better so you can try and enjoy some of the pregnancy now....

Cherry so pleased you had a nice holiday. I bet baby cherry is now wondering what is going on being back at home!

Toria how are you doing? Have been thinking about you as we haven't heard from you!

Bunny, Pixie , Cherry and all the other froliker mums please don't leave! We love you popping in and providing expertise on stuff - it's very reassuring for all of us I think!

I am almost 25 weeks and in the bit of pregnancy that one enjoys I think! Bump size is manageable, feeling good on a whole (apart from pesky back - but doing lots of yoga to sort that out). DH and I are also starting to feel very grown up - which is strange!! We sold our old sporty little coupe car for an estate this weekend - boooo!!!! Am in denial a bit but know it had to be done. We are also on the home straight of finishing off the house - painters are in, old carpet out and new carpet ordered so can not wait for it not to look lik a building site anymore......and then I plan to nest big time! The other brilliant thing is that I only have 9 weeks of work left and will be finsihing at 34.5 weeks- due to my contract expiring and holiday that needs to be taken so it's great to have an end date in site - makes it all the more real.

Waves to anyone else I have missed!

womanlytales · 17/10/2011 10:53

empusa hope you are feeling better now.
Lanky - glad you're feeling good and are doing lots of yoga and have an end at sight.

Thank you all for your support - The bleeding reduced dramatically by Friday evening and now I have off-and-on spotting - like prior except this is red while the earlier was brown. I am not worried.

Not sure if I can share news with everyone given that I feel so anxious - so am going to wait some more. I am praying that the spotting stops by end of week and then our next goal will be the 20th week scan. Hopefully we will not have any more scares before then.

Florin · 17/10/2011 14:15

lanky glad your house is getting finished. We are about to embark on an extension, if all is well hopefully finished just before I am due. I know it's a bit mad but suddenly got some money to do it so seems to be best to go for it. Plus it would be worse with a small child toddling around!
Thank you from the welcome of so many frolicked it's lovely so many remember me still!
Symptom wise I have a very sensitive nose can smell stuff a mile off and i am knacked had afternoon nap both day over the weekend so today is going to be a long day! Off to tell my parents tonight. They have paid for my private gynae so feel its only fair to share the news with them as soon as possible. Bit worried my mum had loads of miscarriages and don't want her to be to negative I am very aware of the risks but really trying to think positive. Everyday I think is one more good day ticked off.
Got my docs appointment booked in for next Tuesday. Dh is insisting on coming with me although I am sure it isn't going to be very exciting! He is so excited he just wants to be involved as much as possible. He even told me about the app on the iPhone which tells you how your baby is developing each week! Slightly strange when it says welcome florin's dh you are 4 weeks and 6 days pregnant! Oh well it's lovely to be excited together! Telling his mum tomorrow who doesn't know we have been trying and is desperate for grandchildren, she is going to be very overexcited!

LateToThisBabyMalarky · 18/10/2011 07:49

You've got to just love the GP's, don't you - the earliest appointment I could get is Friday morning! Have no idea when I'll be able to get an early scan, I was hoping for Monday but I don't really know how the referral process works... I know when I was miscarrying I was seen there pretty quickly, but this is a bit different so they might make me wait a bit. I looked at the EPU info on the web (it's at QCH) and couldn't work out if it's the kind of place you can just walk in to?

Empusa, I really feel for you with the sickness, you poor thing. I've only got a bit of nausea in the mornings, gone by lunch, but not nice even at that low level. Really hope your pills combo knock it on the head Wink

Womanly, it sound like things are heading in the right direction? Hope the spotting clears up soon and you can relax & get on with the delightful business of announcing your news [hsmile]

Lanky, good to hear you're still doing yoga at 25 weeks - how long will you continue for? I love my yoga & was wondering how long I'd be able to keep it up, what kind of yoga are you doing now? Have you had to move to a specific pregnancy yoga class?

bunnygirl80 · 18/10/2011 11:22

late I did ante-natal yoga right through my pg. My last class was about 4 days before I gave birth [hsmile]

Depends what type of yoga you're doing at the moment, but your teacher will need to modify things for you as your pg progresses - all those hormones make your ligaments stretchier and doing some unmodified yoga stuff could be quite bad for you. If your current teacher doesn't have experience of ante-natal yoga then it might be worth finding someone who does - my teacher went on holiday for a week and the person who covered the class had us doing all sorts that just wasn't right (ie lots of lying on our backs when 30+wks pg). Also, the class I did spent a portion of each week learning about how to use yoga to help in early labour - it was probably the single most useful thing I did as birth preparation. The breathing techniques we learnt we really useful for me in labour, and the positions we were shown really helped me to manage the contractions.

So in short, keep up the yoga. Definitely tell your teacher you're pg (they even want to know in the early weeks as some yoga theory says there's certain moves you shouldn't do in the 1st trimester), and you might want to try a specific antenatal class, especially if you want to meet other pg women [hsmile]

haloflo · 18/10/2011 15:23

Ooh I've missed loads. womanly so glad the scan went well but what a scare! I told people at 15/16 weeks when I started to get a bump. You never know you might start feeling movement from 18 weeks or so (though 20-22 weeks is more normal with a first pregnancy). 12 weeks to 20 weeks is a weird time but once you get to the next scan its brilliant, you really are on your way.

Florin!!!! I remember you, another long time frolicker with a BFP, congratulations. I had that app, it tells you your LO is the size of grain of rice etc. Before you know it its an orange or a mango!

Late Congrats to you too. Its hard when you had an mc before but remember every week further you are along before the scan is actually more reassuring. e.g. heartbeats aren't always heard before 8 weeks and a heartbeat is a really good sign so a scan at 7 weeks might worry you more. Does that make sense? I hope Friday's appointment is good and you get a scan date soon.

highheelsandequations · 18/10/2011 19:38

late congrats to you and hope you can get your reassurance scan soon, although I second halo about trying not to get the scan too early. I had a couple of early scans that caused more stress than reassurance. I kept up my regular yoga class (astanga vinyasa) until a week before giving birth, my teacher gave me a sheet with adaptions for some of the poses for each trimester. It did get more difficult (especially as the classes were 1.5 hours long) and it's quite amusing trying to get into some of the poses around the bump but very glad I did it.

womanly sorry you've been having a stressful time but very pleased the scan went well. Apart from close friends and family I also told people about 15-16 weeks when I started looking pg instead of fat! Was also reluctant to share the news after I had more spotting at 14 weeks and ended up going for another scan at the EPU to reassure me. Hope you can relax and enjoy your pg soon.

Florin big congratulations, so lovely to see you!

lanky hope you manage to get your house done. My DP finished the bathroom about a month before Rose arrived, and I had been longing for a bath for ages. Hope you continue to enjoy the second trimester, I loved every minute, but also loved the third trimester. Even though I was the size of a small whale I never felt that my bump got in the way or was too uncomfortable (although I did hate the water retention enormous monster feet).

Hope everyone else is well. Rose is tucked up in bed fast asleep and I'm heading off to pole class, it's a lot harder to get up in the air than it used to be but I'm determined to get fit again!
