lankyI have 2.5 days of real work left until Maternity leave. Am really excited but a little bit nervous too for my replacement (I own the business so it is stressful)

empusa haven't heard from you in a while. Hope you are doing well and the ms isn't too bad!

halo solid foods!! Sounds fun! Let us know how it goes. I bet time flies with a little one (very excited to try it out)

I have started another stats list because I've lost track of who is due next. Please add yourselves in (unless I am the only one who likes lists:))

halo - lovely to hear about Hannah - I love cuddly babies :)
thank you all for the cheery reassurance about my scan date. I think I had a turning point yesterday when I realized I can't spend the rest of my pregnancy worrying on a daily basis -- So am resolved to find some thing to commit to at work and home that will help me feel a little bit in control... This whole pregnancy journey has been so wobbly / I think it's time I pull my socks up and move on.

I am planning on getting a pregnancy pillow - now yet but at some time in Nov or so. Great tip halo about the microwaveable beanie thing - just reading about it makes my back feel great.. lol

A friend of mine did the JL tour - found it very nice but exhaustive and then went back to making their choices from earlier research.. lol so there you go. I think it's like the thing you do to get a good overview of what's what and then you add in your internet research to find things that work as per your budget.

lanky my thyroid levels are bothersome. My appt with the endocrinologist is on 7 Oct..so perhaps we'll get a better picture then. my levels in wk 6/7 was TSH 4.22 and T4 16.49

cherrycobbler · 29/09/2011 13:30

lanky, baby cherry is doing well thanks, being a real delight at the moment and totally interested in the world around her. She is a bit boob obsessed though and v stubborn in refusing all bottles! Re: size, I looked back at pictures of me the day before giving birth and I gasped. I was like a massive bump with little arms and little legs attached. The thing is that it creeps up on you slowly so you're not as freaked out as you would be if you just woke up one day like that!

gold 2.5 days to go!! Gosh. Hope once you're off you do manage to switch off and relax a bit, though it must be hard if its your own business.

womanly your new approach sounds really positive. I found it very hard not to worry constantly, but tried to think that if, God forbid, something were to happen, I would have regretted not enjoying each day, if that makes sense. Good luck with your endocrinologist appt.

Empusa -

Gold your due date is the day of my birthday - good day! So not long then till your ML - I bet since you own the business it must be a bit terrifying as well - never quite as detached from work. Hope you don't worry too much and get to enjoy the next month or so before little one arrives.

Womanly your appt isn't far away so don't worry too much about the levels - just make sure you get them to take it seriously. Well done you for thinking about starting to enjoy the pregnancy a bit more. Great attitude and cherry is right - just got to make the most of it and enjoy each day as much as you can.

Cherry glad baby cherry is doing well and you are enjoying motherhood! I bet it is so exciting seeing the develop and change so much. Hope you are enjoying some of this weather being out and about with her. Re size - am expecting the same - I think it was just this stark realisation that you are going to get a lot bigger that scared me!

I just brought the dream genii so expecting an amazing sleep this evening! Wink

cherrycobbler · 29/09/2011 18:07

Ooh hope the pillow delivers!! Also meant to say - 25% off John Lewis?! That is AMAZING. Buy everything you need for your child from birth to teenage years before the discount runs out. Does it extend to Waitrose too?! Envy

OP posts:
MrsWajs · 29/09/2011 19:19

Hello, just lurking and was going to say to lanky exactly what cherry has said - you don't notice the bump creeping up on you!! Found my bump pics from the week before Robyn was born and I was humungous!!

Womanly If your LO arrives on time s/he will share Robyns birthday! :)

highheelsandequations · 29/09/2011 19:52

Just popping in to agree with MrsW and cherry, I looked at photos from 2 days before Rose arrived recently and I was HUGE!!!! Still can't believe such a tiny baby came from such a huge tummy, although I had a LOT of water!!!

Glad to hear everyone's doing well with their pregnancies, womanly glad you've been treated well after the spotting, lanky hope the pain's bearable, gold enjoy your ML, hope I've mentioned everyone!!!

highheelsandequations · 29/09/2011 22:13

PS: lanky have put bump pic on profile, was I as huge as the woman you saw? :o

MrsWajs · 30/09/2011 00:31

Oh wow highheels that is a massive bump!! Bigger than mine I think, although yours is more "out" I think I had an "all over" kind of bump IYSWIM?
And that there throws the whole neat/big male/female thing out the window as we both had girls!!

LankyLegs · 30/09/2011 10:51

Cherry the pillow was good thanks - but what I have learnt is that I am a proper fidget and getting comfy is not my stongest point! It is a million times better than a normal pillow. And yes the discount does extend to WR but not as much there. Wink

highheels great piccies!! And no trust me this woman was bigger than you! Although ok - am slightly scared about getting big! I think everyone is right - it just creeps up on you! Hope your little one is doing well!

MrsWajs how is Robyn doing?

Very sweet this morning MrLanky actually got to feel a kick! I think that put a sping in his step. Grin

womanlytales · 30/09/2011 12:02

lovely news about feeling a kick :) mrswajs I am looking forward to end of April... and now have to run off and check out the 25% fuss at JL. Lol

goldmaple · 30/09/2011 21:53

highheels I have the same type of bump as you! All out front. GP actually said at my 34 weeks appt that she could feel almost around the back of my uterus at the top.

lanky glad your DH got a kick (from bubs)I think that makes it a lot more real for them!

pixiestix · 01/10/2011 13:11

Highheels that was one seriously fantastic bump!! Grin

As for Roundtable I saw this http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/childbirth/1302741-My-waters-have-or-are-breaking a couple of weeks ago but nothing since. Hope she is ok and just too busy with newborn cuddles to get back on here.

haloflo · 01/10/2011 18:11

crazyalien posted in the bf/ff section so I stalked her profile.

She posted this in a pregnancy thread:

"I had a baby girl on 27th Sept weighing 8pm 8oz . Whole labour took 3 1/2 hrs!

Her name is Imogen Grace."

Congratulations Crazy if you ever lurk in this forum.

cherrycobbler · 01/10/2011 19:32

Ooh loving the stalking - congrats crazy and roundtable!

bunnygirl80 · 03/10/2011 07:44

Excellent stalking ladies - congrats to crazya and roundtable

hh your bump was truly impressive. I just inflated all over, so my bump actually looked relatively in proportion

LankyLegs · 04/10/2011 16:48

Fantastic news - congrats to crazyalien and roundtable if you are lurking.

Gold how is your mat leave going? Hope you are enjoying it!

womanly not long until your scan now! Only next week - see how quickly it comes around?!

I have started to get the following comments this week:

"Ooh I have a friend due a couple of weeks before you and she isn't as big as you already"

"Wow - you have really popped this week - how big you going to be at the end?"

Btw - am 23 weeks! Sh*t!

Have also had 2 relatively random work colleauges grab my bump - both men... errr????

goldmaple · 05/10/2011 16:44

lanky am enjoying mat leave so far. Was a bit bored yesterday but I made a list of everything I have to do and it was overwhelming so i did nothing:) except call DH a work... apparently a bit too much as he told me to stop unless it was important.
Don't worry about everyone's comments! And the random work colleagues should keep their hands to themselves!! (only had women feel my bump and I didn't really mind... but if a man had I would have thought it was weird).

Having prenatal photo shoot tomorrow with the same photographers who did our wedding so very exciting. Going out to buy 2 new tops today for the shoot:) and get things for my hospital bag which really should be packed at 35 weeks!

womanly excited for your scan! The 11-14 week one is really neat because baby looks like a baby and can fit on one screen so you get great pics!

And congrats to roundtable and crazyalien!!

Am I next?

womanlytales · 06/10/2011 17:04

How exciting to be next maple - hope the photo shoot went well :) and best of luck -- when are you due again?
lanky male colleagues doing that is a bit wierd but I also thought - nice??

Just about a week for my scan, so thank you ladies for supporting me through this. I still get really anxious about all the things that can go wrong... but try to stay distracted. Also have my endocrinologist meeting tomorrow - so that'll be nice.

Question - tmi - Did any of you experience continuous discharge.. as you know I have had spotting off and on but nowadays it's a pale yellow and I have no other symptoms... any idea what it could be? Not much either - just a bit on a liner...

cherrycobbler · 06/10/2011 19:15

I had lots of discharge womanly, ended up wearing a liner at all times. First sign of all the glamour of pregnancy and birth to come :) Hope this week goes quickly for you.

Off on holibobs tomorrow, have packed half the house but convinced we've forgotten something. Up at 4.30am tomorrow, hope the baby sleeps from now till then so I can finish packing, paint my nails and get some sleep!

OP posts:
haloflo · 06/10/2011 19:42

womanly I too had a lot of discharge (sometimes I ran to the loo thinking it was blood Blush) I think its lack of oestrogen (isn't your body making progesterone to keep the lining of your womb thick?) as I still get a bit now due to breastfeeding. One week to go. Just get through the weekend and it will nearly be here. Its totally normal to be anxious but more than likely everything will be just fine. x

gold Yey for mat leave. Smile I had 5 weeks off before DD arrived. It was lovely. Enjoy the photoshoot. I would love to see a pic, sounds very glamorous.

cherry Enjoy your holidays!

goldmaple · 08/10/2011 18:06

The photo shoot was fun! Did my hair and make up which really made me feel good. I haven't been taking care of myself that much but it really gave me an energy boost so I will have to put more effort in on a regular basis. Haven't seen the pics yet but hope they turned out okay.

Spent 4 out of 5 days of my first week of maternity leave at work because one of the ladies at the front has been out sick. But I still feel pretty good so it wasn't bad.

womanly I have lots of discharge. Not glamorous:) but i think it helps fight infections etc... so its good. Just get used to changing underwear a couple times a day - or a panty liner.

I'm due Nov. 9th... starting to get anxious now about everything (birth and after) but really excited!! Just a ball of hormones really.

haloflo i will post a pic if any turn out well. I am notoriously unphotogenic but the photographer did my wedding and really made me look good so I'm hoping she can work her magic 'photoshop' again. Though I did have someone help with my hair and make up on my wedding day...

cherry have a great holiday!! Going to be different now you have a bubs:) And what's all this unglamourous stuff about motherhood?! Shock lol... can't change my mind now anyways...

zippys · 09/10/2011 15:27

Just wanted to come on quickly to thank you all for your support. I am still very raw and emotional but starting to see the positives that at least it can happen. We are still trying and hope to back soon to give you some better news

xxxxxx

LateToThisBabyMalarky · 09/10/2011 19:11

Hello again! Smile I got my bfp yesterday - just 9 weeks after my erpc which means I'm all confused and not feeling quite as excited about it as I should be, but hopefully I'll get my head around it soon...

zippys, I looked back and read your posts, it was like reading my own from a couple of months ago Sad. Really hope you come through this horrible time soon, and that you make a return to this thread as quickly as I have Wink
