ToriaPumpkinPasty · 29/07/2011 11:05

Cheers, I couldn't remember your BFP date! :)

Can't help you on the sickness I'm afraid as I'm one of those irritating people who had none. A friend told me last night she actually hates me as she had Hyperemesis all the way through with both her boys. Paying for it now with the bad hips and back mind!

LankyLegs · 29/07/2011 12:51

I think I am going to join you with the bad back - its been twinging from a couple of weeks ago and yesterday it was crippling to the point where I couldnt bend down. Joy!!

When did you start showing Toria - thats the next thing I am focussing on!!

ToriaPumpkinPasty · 29/07/2011 16:07

You have my utmost sympathy on the back pain. Mine isn't too bad today but yesterday I spent five hours on my friend's leather couch sliding around trying to find a comfortable way to sit. Luckily for me it seems to be a combination of overcompensation for my SPD-ridden hips and an old injury so it's mostly at the top of my back between my shoulder blades so enough pillows and a hot water bottle/bath help more often than not but good God work is getting difficult. Not that I can really bend down anymore anyway Grin

I could feel my tummy hardening at about ten weeks, had rounded out nicely by 14 and by my 20 week scan had a fairly solid bump. I was a bit bigger to begin with though so now I've got a proper bump I look a bit like I've had too much cake as the fat that was already there is making a layer on top so I am a very odd shape! Lots of people have started commenting though, and my OH and colleagues all agreed I looked properly pregnant at about 24-25 weeks but that if you knew it was obvious from about 20, even the midwife was surprised how much I'd grown by my 24 week appt! Currently 27+1 and at that irritating smug stage of constantly rubbing and patting the bump to make the baby move Grin

Oh, and I have no idea if this is an indicator of sex, personality or just that I've got a wriggly little monkey but when I first started feeling movements the place I felt them most was against my cervix and this has continued, am forever getting thumped in the cervix and bladder! Makes me pull some very bloody funny faces...

Had a lovely day today, met an old friend who is due a few weeks before me for lunch then had my hair cut and a huge slab of pavlova before coming back to the IL's house. Am now staying out of the way as BIL is getting married tomorrow and everyone is somewhat fraught. Think I might take my book and claim I need a bath for my back... Wink

Enjoy having your family round, have you told everybody yet? Grin

LankyLegs · 29/07/2011 16:42

I do hope that it remains manageable (your back pain) Mine is also hurting around the tailbone which I injured when I fell down the escalator on the tube a few years ago so think thats why it is playing up. Hot water bottles are a good idea though! Will add that to the list!

Wow - so 14 weeks or so you could tell. I am normally a size 10/12 but defo a 12 now and my tummy is totally sticking out but more from the carbs I have been consuming at an alarming rate which is why I can't wait for this sickness to stop and for me to eat normal foods again! That is so sweet you can get the baby to move around by stroking and patting! Must be an amazing feeling!!

Hope the wedding goes well tomorrow! I would do what you are and stay out of the way of all the stress! Enjoy your bath!

I have to go and prepare food for 16!! Wish me luck! We haven't told DH's parents and are doing that tomorrow as we wanted to wait for the scan results. My family all know - but then I have 4 sisters and most of them have had kids so they have been my source of sanity and I was able to phone them all for advice during the first few weeks! This will be my mum's 9th grandchild!! She was over the moon for us but as I imagined not as surprised (not in a horrible way - just more that she expected us to get pregnant as I have been going on about babies for a while!) Will be telling friends over the next few weeks as and when we see them.

Have a lovely time at the wedding!

late so sorry to hear your news. FX that you are back here as soon as you are ready!

LankyLegs · 30/07/2011 06:39

gold your EDD is a great day! It's my birthday too! Hope you well and enjoy the weekend.

mumnerves · 30/07/2011 23:25

Sorry to hear your news late HUGS!

Those of you with sickness, hang in there, it usually goes by the 2nd trimester s

highheelsandequations · 02/08/2011 12:12

Sorry to hear your news late if you're still lurking.

Well it's all go here, cannot believe Rose will be 4 weeks old tomorrow, I don't know where the time goes. Good news is that we seem to have sussed the breastfeeding now, although she has no routine yet and sometimes it feels like she is just feeding constantly, but she is up to 8lbs 3.5oz, and put on 9.5 oz in the last week so is doing well. We are just about managing to use the cloth nappies now and she's grown out of her newborn clothes already! We're mostly doing well, if exhausted, and worried that I'm doing things wrong, and feeling guilty for spending any time away from her, and I actually miss being pregnant! Sorry, no time for personal messages but I hope everyone's well and I'll try to keep in touch when the little milk monster is not feeding :)

cherrycobbler · 03/08/2011 12:01

very very belated but huge congrats to highheels on your little girl! Yay for b/feeding getting better, don't worry about the no routine, the first six weeks for us just felt like one very long day of no sleep and lots of feeding. Well done you on Rose's weight gain!

v sorry to hear your news late, hope to see you here again very soon.

welcome goldmaple and lanky!! SO pleased to see you here properly :) Less pleased to hear about the sickness, you poor thing - I had horrible sickness and pretty much threw up everything that wasn't Haribo for the first few months. Mine got better about 17 weeks and was totally gone by 20, when I made up for it by eating everything in sight for the last part of my pregnancy.

ps flick SO excited that you popped back on thanks for the congrats!!! Hope all is good with you lovely, been thinking of you - are you still in HK? xxx

Lovely to hear from you cherry! How are things with you and your lovely little girl doing? Gosh can't believe how quickly the time is going.

Rasberry so pleased that lovely little Rose is gaining weight and you are getting to grips with the feeding. I think it's important not to place too much emphasis on routine at this stage! Give yourself a chance young lady!!

I think (but don't quote me) the sickness is getting a tiny bit better but not convinced as evenings tend to be awful. 14 weeks today so hoping that it is starting to tail off a bit, but I know it could rear it's head at any time!

Toria hope your BIL's wedding went well!

raspberrytipple · 03/08/2011 18:15

Did someone say my name?!

cherrycobbler · 03/08/2011 19:29

and a good thing too - I also wanted to say, how are the wedding plans going rasberry? can't be long now?! v exciting!

things going ok here thanks misslegs - had a super grouchy baby today due to the heat, but DH is just home, baby is cooing at him whilst in bouncing chair whilst he prepares some fajitas. So life is good!

Ok spoke to soon - coos have turned into cross squawks so best go get her bath ready... :)

raspberry, obv, not rasberry... Blush

OP posts:
LankyLegs · 03/08/2011 19:48

Oops I meant highheels! Sorry raspberry! But lovely to hear from you!!! And how are the wedding plans going?

Cherry sounds like you are all doing well and enjoying being a little family! I am loving and hating this heat at the same time so I don't blame the poor little thing being grouchy!

goldmaple · 03/08/2011 20:46

HH can't believe your little girl is a month old. Sounds like you both are doing well (with breast feeding and gaining weight) I hope I can say the same soon (but not too soon obv)

lanky glad to hear you are feeling better! I know what you mean about not wanting to actually say that as it always seems to flare up when you think you are in the clear.

26 weeks today and growing out of my first maternity clothes (thought they'd last the whole time:( but I will go get some more) Back aches by the end of the day and I think I may have waddled trying to keep up with DH this weekend Blush (everyone says I am carrying low) but bubba is moving so much more these days its worth it.

Odd there are no August babies...

cherrycobbler · 04/08/2011 10:18

gah re second lot of mat clothes gold, I lasted till about 30 weeks before finally caving and buying my second lot of mat leave clothes... and then bought a third round of vest tops for the really hot final couple of weeks! You will get bigger than you ever imagine you can be - but it all does go shockingly quickly post birth so don't worry! If you feel like splurging on any Isabella Oliver goodies, I have a discount code for 15% off - LOYAL15.

OP posts:
goldmaple · 04/08/2011 22:56

Ohhh... just had a peek at Isabella Oliver mat clothes! Gorgeous! Not going to buy any (or maybe just one:) ) cheery I'm already bigger than I ever thought I'd be, can't imagine how huge I'll be in 12 wksShock

raspberrytipple · 05/08/2011 06:49

Planning is going well thank you! Only Three weeks now :/
Look like definitely won't have my pip with us on our big day which is what I was so wishing for but it's off to the docs straight from honeymoon, will be our 15th month of trying by that point so something is not right. I've given up hope of getting in here legitimately now so I think I'll just gate crash :D xx

LankyLegs · 05/08/2011 09:44

Raspy how exciting the wedding isn't long now!! You must make sure you enjoy your honeymoon and big day and just think of all the cocktails you can sip!!

I also wanted to add that it took 20 months for us and we had had all the investigations and thinking about ivf in the new year. Don't give up hope but also just enjoy the time you will both have together on your honeymoon

xx

highheelsandequations · 05/08/2011 11:59

raspberry glad the planning is going well, make sure you put some photos up here after the big day! I second Lanky about not giving up, it took us more than 18 months and I was saving for IVF when we got our BFP. Lovely to see you here anyway, please hang around :o
xx

cherrycobbler · 05/08/2011 14:21

Oooh only three weeks to go!! always lovely to see you here bridalberry, and hope you will be announcing your much deserved BFP on here soon - and in the meantime you must enjoy lots of bubbly on the big day and the fact that you can relax and enjoy the honeymoon cocktails with no nausea, constant knicker checking, googling "is it safe to have sex in the first trimester" etc etc... xx

OP posts:
raspberrytipple · 07/08/2011 12:45

Thank you ladies! I am getting very excited now but lots going on :) I will definitely be doing lots of "relaxing" on the honeymoon in the french alps ;)

Hope everyone is getting on well with their babies/bumps. I seem to have a lot of pregnant or recently popped friends at the moment so hoping it will rub off soon and will certainly make the most of being able to hit the bubbly at the hen do and on the wedding day! See you all again soon hopefully! xx

Empusa · 14/08/2011 11:44

Hello ladies, looks like I'm joining you finally!

Got a BFP this morning, after giving up and going back on the pill!!

haloflo · 14/08/2011 20:47

Did you used to be kaloki? Sorry if that isn't spelt right.

Either way congrats on your BFP, what a shock if you were back on the pill! Do you know how many weeks you are?
