Massive massive double congratulations Crazydayz!!!!!! Smile Smile Smile
What fab names (Isobel is one of my all time faves) , and what brilliant weights. Well done you!!
Our first Frolickers twins - eek! Grin

TomboyWife · 04/05/2011 22:22

Massive congrats crazydayz! x2! Grin Hope you continue to recover from surgery and the little ones are settling in.

Tonight I had my first evening of trying to hide and/or explain my non-drinking. I chose the "hide in plain sight" approach: order a pint, fail to drink most of it, complain of feeling unwell. I suppose the feeling unwell part is a teeny bit true. Hmm

bunnygirl80 · 05/05/2011 04:51

crazyd massive congrats on the birth of the twins. And well done for managing to grow them both to such good weights - William was only 7lb1 and I felt massive enough so I have no idea how you coped with double that.

tomboy I'm a dentist, and the verdict at the last xray course I went on was dental xrays in pg are perfectly safe- the only reason we avoid them is for mum's peace of mind. So you're not as much of a rule breaking rebel as you thought Grin

haloflo · 05/05/2011 07:55

Double congrats crazydayz - gorgeous names. I hope your recovery is quick & you get chance to pop a photo up? Don't worry if you have no time.

Tomboy Congrats on the BFP - I wish you a boringly healthy next 8 months.

highheelsandequations · 05/05/2011 16:25

Huge congrats crazyd, lovely names and glad to hear you and the twins are all doing well.

crazya I'm now 30 weeks. Was too paranoid to buy anything at first, then we had so many scares up to 14 weeks that I wanted to wait for 20 week scan, then I thought I'd just wait a little longer, now I'm panicked that we're going to have to buy everything at once!!

bunny thanks for the advice on feeding. Have found some bottles, steriliser and not too expensive manual pump on amazon so think I will order those soon, can always get a better pump later if needed, and will take your emergency formula advice too I think. Nearest 24 hour tesco is a good 30 minute drive away!

halo and cherry thanks for the reassurance about being disorganised and shopping advice. Have now ordered cot bed, car seat and pram and DP insists we are getting his old moses basket so just need to find out size and order mattress. Have also added lots of stuff into my basket on amazon, although not checked out yet, so feeling a little more in control. I think I'm just worried that there'll still be loads to do around the house once I'm on ML, plus I've some sewing projects I was hoping to get done, and would like to finish the bit of the garden that's starting to look nice, so not sure how much shopping time I'll have!

Daiso sorry you're feeling so rough, have you tried midnight snacks? I was very lucky to not have bad sickness at all but did feel really awful if I let my stomach get empty. Hoping the time to your scan passes quickly.

Tomboy sure your xray is nothing to worry about and you're right that there are so many things to worry about having done wrong. I had what was possibly the booziest week in years the week before my BFP (including sipping wine in the bath at lunchtime!!) and pip seems to be fine. I found the best way to get around drinking was just to get soft drinks (make sure myself or DP got mine and try to make them look alcoholic with ice, fruit and straws!) and not say anything, got away with drinking fizzy elderflower from a wine glass for a whole girly night in with my friend, although I got outed at about 11 weeks at a Christmas party.

Well I've finally started ordering things for pip so feeling a little more relaxed, can't cope with feeling disorganised. Have been kicked hard all day today, even made me jump in front of classes a couple of times, think some of my S3s were getting a bit concerned that I kept jumping and touching my bump!! Very fed up with work though, and can't be bothered with another 7 weeks, tired being on my feet all day and just can't seem to get motivated. Although it was my S6s final day today and one of them came to give me a thankyou card, which was lovely, and S5 finish tomorrow for their exam leave so hopefully the next couple of weeks will be a little easier (not counting on it though).

Hope everyone's well.

Updated stats, think this is correct but someone tell me if I've made any mistakes!! How did I end up getting near to the top of the list, seems like yesterday I was right at the bottom...

cherrycobbler · 06/05/2011 12:23

Huge congrats crazydayz! What amazing weights for twins too - but no wonder you were completely knackered. Hope all going ok for you and your new family :)

OP posts:
ToriaPumpkinHead · 06/05/2011 17:02

Woohoo! Congrats on the new arrivals Crazydayz And what beautiful names! Thomas is actually topping our boys names list Grin Agree that those are some good weights, well done!

Daiso Sorry you're feeling rough, fingers crossed it'll pass soon.

Well up here I'm starting to wonder if I'm feeling pumpkin move. Very slight nudging sensations quite low down in my belly that don't seem to coincide with any other, er, functions. The midwife said at my 15 week appt that I could start feeling it soon so part of me wonders if I'm projecting but last night it was a definite little nudge when I was falling asleep. Whilst we're on the appt, I'm measuring spot on apparently and she backed me up to the hilt wrt OH's conviction I should be doing more exercise. I laughed. Have looked into aqua natal classes and obstetric physio as my hips are getting really sore overnight and I'm getting out of breath really quickly so will hopefully start both of those in the next few weeks Grin Still got leukocytes and glucose in my urine so having follow up tests including a GTT two days after my birthday next week. Better go easy on the birthday cake!

Hope everyone I haven't namechecked is doing well, I assume we've lost a few of our first trimester-ers to MS!

I apologise for the double post, my internet is being somewhat obnnoxious atm!

WorrisomeHeart · 06/05/2011 19:18

Wow, the first Frolickers twins! Congrats Crazydayz!

Just wanted to pop back and link to the Post-Natal thread, it's a lot quieter over there but so nice to keep in touch with the other Frolickers who have popped!

Hope you're all doing well and look forward to seeing you on the other side!

pixiestix · 07/05/2011 08:38

Well, as Steg hasn't posted for months I guess that makes you top of the list Cherry Wink

TomboyWife · 07/05/2011 12:33

Morning ladies!

Toria how exciting to feel that first kick! So exciting you posted about it twice! Grin

I had the most horrid experience last night: I ate a curry and didn't enjoy it. Sad When does the going off favourite foods symptom generally pass?

ToriaPumpkin · 07/05/2011 15:26

Tomboy I'm still finding it hard to eat certain foods, my aunt makes amazing lasagne and I had the tiniest bit last weekend and haven't felt so sick in ages! Before that it was just burgers but I appear to be over that as I had two at the BBQ the day before the lasagne... I'm trying to convince OH it's cooking that makes me feel sick and dizzy but he's not taking me on lol.

TomboyWife · 07/05/2011 17:44

Hmm, in my case it's not favourite foods making me feel sick (I've had only the teensiest little twinges of morning sickness so far, but I'm bracing for a full-on appearance in the coming weeks). It's just that I eat food and the part of my brain that normally says, "Nom nom nom, that tastes lovely" doesn't do anything. Food is just fuel now.

MrsWajs · 07/05/2011 20:52

Congratulations Crazydayz wow can't believe how big the twins were, Thomas was just an oz heavier than Robyn was and I felt HUGE!! It was a close call between us though!! :)

Cherry Looks like you're next! All set??

It's so weird being on the arrivals list now and not the expecting!

Congrats to the others who have got BFPs also :) Hope the next 9 months are uneventful for you all. My SIL is also expecting her first baby in December so now am going to be AuntyWajs :)

MrsWajs · 07/05/2011 20:55

Oh also meant to say I totaly agree with bunny re the bottle/steriliser issue, we got ours before Robyn came along and I was so glad we did. We also got a couple of cartons of pre-made formula and they were a god send when we needed them!

mumnerves · 07/05/2011 22:38

Crazydayz Congratulations! hope you manage to get some rest just after!

cherrycobbler · 08/05/2011 20:57

EEK top of the list!!

I had a look at the May antenatal club thread which I keep meaning to join but never got round to, and looks like steg had her baby at the end of last month, so will update the stats accordingly when am off my phone!

am a complete mixture of very very ready and impatient to meet my baby, and feeling utterly terrified and not ready. Looks like I will have to pull myself together this week though as the hospital is talking about an induction towards the end of the week ("by Friday, possibly earlier" is what they said to me) due to some concerns about my hormone levels that were picked up earlier in pregnancy and can be linked to earlier placental failure. GAH!!! Not overly keen on being induced but trust the consultant I am dealing with so will follow his advice.

crazyb thinking of you lots - hope you're not struggling too much at the moment - tail end of pregnancy is not fun!

anyone heard from bellaby recently? hope all is ok with her.

OP posts:
haloflo · 09/05/2011 09:45

cherry In case I don't get chance to post again (i'm sure I will be you never know) all the best for the big day. Hopefully you will have your LO before Friday as it sounds like its for the best to get him/her into the world asap.

I didn't have the birth I wanted but 6 weeks later its a distant blur and definatly worth it. Try not to worry - you will be ok. The one thing I read on here was to have an epidural and the same time as the synto drip (if you end up going down that route) - definatly recommended. You might have read that too, I spent the last few days of my pregnancy obsessing in the childbirth forum.

PS If its not exciting enough to be meeting your baby soon, I also want to add that its brillant not being pregnant.. definatly something to look forward to. You get little sleep with a newborn but at least when you get sleep you are comfortable (sleeping on your front, turning over in bed, normal amount of trips to the loo)

All the best to you too crazybutterfly and bellaby if you are still lurking. xx

ToriaPumpkin · 09/05/2011 15:54

Fingers crossed for you Cherry!

CrazyB you're due the day before my birthday, hope you're not feeling too fed up and that your baby is here soon too.

I've just had a call from my midwife, apparently I've got a UTI! I've never had one before in my life and have absolutely no symptoms of one but the leukocytes in my last urine sample convinced her to get me tested so I've got to start anti-biotics tomorrow. Fun times. On the upside hopefully they will also clear the last of the cold I've had clinging on for the last few weeks.

In other news we've been invited to a wedding in August. OH is the best man and it's on an island in the middle of the Firth of Forth! This is the one that was originally planned for October so that takes the pressure off a little and the island looks absolutely stunning so should be good fun. Just have to hope the boat loads from a dock and not a ladder lol.

TomboyWife · 09/05/2011 21:43

Toria sorry to hear about the UTI, but good news that your midwife caught it and is nipping it in the bud. I speak from experience, the symptoms aren't much fun.

Missyraines · 10/05/2011 13:56

My 12w scan was yesterday and all is well. We told MIL who is visiting until Weds and am telling my Mum on Sun when we see her next. Will be first grandchild so she'll be excited!

Lovely to see baby on the screen and makes it so much realer (if that's a word?) EDD still 21/11.

Toria it's good they caught UTI. Best to get it treated rather than suffer the pain.

Cherry FX for your Due date. How exciting!
