kurlyvoice · 26/04/2011 11:39

Congratulations to JSJ on the birth of Harris and MrsW on the birth of Robyn [bugrin] - hope you are both recovering well from labour and enjoying those first few days as a family of three! Give them a kiss from me and Alastair...

Thinking of you and the twins, crazydays, and hoping that all goes well today. Can't wait to hear the news!

waves to everyone else - hope that crazybutterfly and cherry are enjoying maternity leave, getting lots of rest (which is the bit that I missed out on...) and that your little ones don't make you wait too long!

cherrycobbler · 26/04/2011 11:45

huge congrats jsj and mrsw!!!! robyn is such a lovely name. hope labour was ok - 27 hours EEEKK.

crazy thinking of you and the little frolicker twins!

loving mat leave but been similarly busy - do need to just chill! Oh, and sort out my hospital bag, EDD is in two weeks time so really should start packing. M/w thinks baby is not yet engaged so I doubt she's any hurry to come out (although am not too keen on the thought of going for another four weeks of rolling around like a big balloon!)

Awwww, Congrats MrsW! Smile
Can't wait to see a picture of gorgeous Robyn.

highheelsandequations · 26/04/2011 17:51

Congrats MrsW, lovely name, I teach a Robyn and she's lovely :)

Hope everything's going well for crazyd

Mad busy as usual in the HH household, will try to catch up properly later in the week. Loving the 4 day weeks though, would love to never work a 5 day week again!

kurlyvoice · 26/04/2011 21:10

... I forgot to say that I put a couple of photos on my profile of my darling little man, to introduce him to you all... He's now six weeks old and 7lbs (but only 1 week corrected age) and I can't imagine life without him. We've just had two nights of him going 4 hours between feeds in the night, which has been lovely, and I'm hoping that he keeps it up!

bunnygirl80 · 26/04/2011 23:42

kurly he's absolutely gorgeous [csmile]

mrsw forgot to say Robyn is such a lovely name. One of my friend's DDs is a Robyn and I've always thought it's a pretty name. You've given her the same middle names as William would have had if he'd turned out to be a girl (great minds obviously think alike) [cgrin]

MrsWajs · 27/04/2011 10:47

Aww Kurly alastair is beautiful :)

Going to try and put pics on of Robyn today and maybe mosey over to post-natal and post my monumental labour story there!!

To be fair, despite being VERY long it went really well, a wee 2nd degree tear but no stitches (yet) although think it's getting a little bit infected so waiting for MW to check it today! Robyn is beautiful but she has issues with sleeping at night time so DP and I are totally knackered, hope it resolves itself shortly as I've genuinely had about 10 hours sleep since Saturday and it's starting to tell!!

ToriaPumpkinHead · 27/04/2011 20:22

Congrats on the arrival of Robyn Mrsw Lovely name [cgrin]

Kurly he's absolutely gorgeous, just squeezable! [csmile]

Not much going on up here, just been up to Mothercare to surrender myself to maternity jeans. And so glad I did! Just getting too uncomfortable now to wear anything around my waist. Away this weekend for a royal wedding party so planning to wear a nice long floaty dress and flipflops and luxuriate in not having to be smart!

Hope everyone else is well, have some nice alcohol free fizz with me Wine

haloflo · 27/04/2011 20:28

kurly Alastair is gorgeous! He looks like he is speaking to you in the 1 month old pic! Hope you are getting on ok - I can't imagine what it would be like to have such a small baby.

mrsw Looking forward to the pics and birth story when you get time. Hope you are doing ok. I was advised to bath regularly (twice a day if poss) with tea tree oil to help keep the stitches/tears clean. It seems to have worked ok as I am comfortable although not had my 6 week check yet and definatly haven't DTD. Hope Robyn understands day and night soon - its hard to sleep when they sleep when its all day & you have visitors!

toria I'll take some of that fizz, cheers Wine Hurray for mat gear. Make sure you get lots of nice things which are comfortable and make you feel nice - you might be wearing them for a while post birth too..

bunnygirl80 · 27/04/2011 22:27

mrsw definitely do the tea tree oil baths - I just used to put a couple of inches of water in and sit in it for a few minutes. Glad it all went well despite being loooong [csmile]

bunnygirl80 · 28/04/2011 00:43

Sorry, got halfway through my post then William needed some attention Grin

mrsw I hope she starts to sleep more at night for you soon. I know it's hard to sleep in the day, but if she's napping well then you really do need to forget about visitors/housework etc. and try to sleep. (I found a couple of glasses of celebratory bubbly would aid me off into a lovely daytime nap Smile).

I don't really have much advice for you as I was one of the lucky ones who got a baby that slept pretty much all the time for the first 6 weeks of his life. He's made up for it recently though, so I do feel your pain on the sleep deprivation front.

MrsWajs · 28/04/2011 17:01

Picture now up on my profile :)

According to MW tear etc is all fine and healing well so can stop panicking about that!
As for sleeping last night was a bit better, well a lot better actually we all got 6 hours sleep but we had Robyn in the bed with us! Very much frowned upon by my MWs but the way I see it is, i can carry on getting up and down every 10 minutes with her and get no sleep at all or i can take her in with me and get 6 hours sleep and be happy mummy!!

haloflo · 28/04/2011 18:27

mrsw She is gorgeous. So cute! Glad you are healing fine.

We have been co sleeping here last couple of nights. I was never told not to only given a leaflet about how to do it safely. In many ways its lovely although I wish I had a bigger bed as Hannah likes her arms spread out. I'm hoping it won't be forever but it certainly makes the night feeds easier.

Has your DSS met Robyn yet? Hope he is excited to meet his little sister.

crazybutterflylady · 28/04/2011 18:36

Congrats MrsW!!!
I can't see the photo on my iPad (and have replaced my computer with the sewing machine on the desk while finishing the nursery curtains so can't see there either dammit!!) but will try to look tomorrow. 27 hours, wow. Sounds like it was all worth it especially if you are healing well already. Well done!!
And my MW recommends co-sleeping so I wouldn't worry too much. Apparently it creates secure children and is great for breastfeeding [cgrin]
Hope crazydayz and her babies are doing well too!

bunnygirl80 · 28/04/2011 23:31

mrsw she's so cute.

I wouldn't worry about the co-sleeping, we still do it sometimes. There's no reason not to as long as you're doing it safely. She's still so new she's bound to settle better if she's close to her mum. Enjoy the snuggles while you can - if we do co-sleep now it involves me and DH both clinging on to the edge of the bed for dear life while William spread-eagles himself in the middle and if you get too close to him you get a swift jab on the nose. I think we all know who rules the roost in the bunny household Grin

CrazyAlien06 · 29/04/2011 14:02

congrats mrsw :D x

highheelsandequations · 30/04/2011 15:29
