OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

slowangels I like Alice and Felicity, meant to say earlier - great news about your grandpa, hopefully he's on the mend.

No Valentines plans here, was at midwife this afternoon, and she has booked me in for a sweep on the 14th - how romantic Grin Know I said I wasn't going to bother with sweep this time but decided to take her up on the offer and see if it makes a difference!!!. Have ordered Mr Wiggles present on Amazon and dd2 told me that her and daddy bought me a Valentines Day card when they were out today!!! so that's me all organised.

40Weeks · 04/02/2011 17:00

A cookie is still a cookie, even if it's been on the floor!

angels I think Alice is my favourite of those, but then again it was our choice should ds1 have been a girl! Great taste.

PDR · 04/02/2011 17:35

Wiggles DH can count the fish tank as his Valentines present for the next decade! I think I'll accept a sweep too although did nothing for me last time. Desperate times and all that!

slowangels1 · 04/02/2011 18:10

ohhhh, I just heard from my reflexologist who said that her maternity expert person who taught her maternity relfexology said that she thinks I reacted so oddly to my treatment yesterday was as she thinks labour is very close for me now - wonder if she's right :)

WaddlingSheep · 04/02/2011 18:22

How exciting Angels! Grin hope she's right and then me please! Although I know I'll still be here in march being a Billy no mates while you're all lovely and snuggled up with your babies Sad Grin.
I like all of your names. I think Alice or Bessie are my favourites, although while Bessie is lovely I would be tempted to use Elizabeth for BC and have Bessie as a nn (although I know you don't want to). Felicity is nice with some good nn possibilities (Fliss, Lissie etc).

WaddlingSheep · 04/02/2011 18:28

Ooh, my friend's hairdresser said that I had "glowing skin" today Grin Grin. At the beginning of pregnancy my skin was terrible (I don't know if anyone remembers my constant whinging posts about it in the beginning) so it was nice to have the compliment!

Prof hope your brother gets on ok with his radiotherapy!

tadjennyp · 04/02/2011 18:39

Congratulations Tallulah! Glad you are getting all the feeding sorted out! It's all getting so exciting now! Having a lazy day at home just to reserve some energy for tomorrow! Got dh to ring his dps to let them know I was going in tomorrow. He asked if they wanted to speak to me and they didn't! I'll just produce the goods then!

Oneof4 · 04/02/2011 18:43

Lovely comments make all the difference don't they? I had four consecutive "oh my god you're huge!" comments yesterday followed (thank heavens) by one person's "wow - you look amazing!".

knittakid · 04/02/2011 19:57

prof gently persuasive talking does not work? I've been using it and was hoping it would... Hope your brother is getting on well.

talulla congrats!!!Wine

I've been feeling really odd since yesterday, a bit of what I already said and today have felt nauseaus for no apparent reason. Got up early panicking about the state of the house and got round to cleaning just the kitchen and fridges...
Does anybody know why would I feel nausea? I am able to eat but little.

debka · 04/02/2011 20:11

Congratulations tallulah, enjoy your little one! :)

knitta when I was in labour I couldn't eat.... but I was definitely in labour.

So yes, feeling a lot better today, slept 10 hours last night and 1 1/2 today, God bless my DD for having a loooong nap. I don't mind being in hospital, but it was so obviously going nowhere I was v glad to be discharged. Normally they would give you a day off and then start with the prostins again, but since I'm not at term yet (EDD is Sunday), the v sensible consultant said that since I was fine, baby was fine and the GD appears to be mild and well controlled by diet, I could have the weekend off.

It was frustrating because I was getting some good pains the first day and into the night, but it all tailed off by the second night. My bishops score (how they judhe the readiness of your cervix) didn't change from 5 the whole time, so breaking my waters was out of the question. Lets hope I'm a bit more ready on Tuesday...

DH was good the first day, and rapidly degenerated into Mr Moan in the second. I sent him home mid afternoon when it was clear nothing was going on.

Thanks everyone for thinking of me :)

OH and just to wind me up further, I am the one person in a million who is allergic to the gel they use with the baby's heart monitor- I have big red splodges all over my tummy from the hours of monitoring I had to endure. Got some steroids from the GP today, lets hope it works...

40Weeks · 04/02/2011 20:35

Oh debka what a pain, literally! It's so dull waiting around in hospital, I remember it well. I hope it works for you on tues.

knitta I am not so sure why you feel nauseous, have you ruled out everything else like tummy bug or maybe even nerves? I think we are due the same day, can't remember. Hope you aren't feeling too rough though.

Amazing turn of events fe valentines...dh has suggested going out to get new curtain poles on Sunday afternoon while his dps have dcs and then we go out for a meal in case baby comes early and we miss valentines!!! OMG who is this thoughtful imposter and what has he done with my Neanderthal? I may get an eternity ring yet!!! (although obviously not yet -that would be toooooo much)

40Weeks · 04/02/2011 20:37

Sorry, curtain poles may sound dull but he knows I want new curtains up soon instead of sitting in box for a year like most things we buy Wink

wigglesrock · 04/02/2011 20:40

Took dd1 to a birthday party this afternoon, about 4 women told me how "neat" I was. The midwife this afternoon was the same, there was a lovely student midwife there as well, she was about 22 Blush I think techically I could be her Mum Grin.

Looking for some advice, all of my pelvic area is really really painful, really achy, like a muscle pain, if I sit for more than 10 mins I can barely move when I get up, need to stretch etc. Is this what SPD is like, never had it with the other two.

PDR · 04/02/2011 20:47

40 what a thoughtful DH :) Mine has just walked through the door from work and is already messing with the fucking fish tank. Apparently it's vital it has lights tonight. There isn't even any water in it Hmm

wiggles my actual midwife is only about 22 Shock I am 25 and she is definately younger than me... I wonder how long it takes them to train...? Not sure about pain - do you feel it in your front or back? Does it hurt when you part your legs? Could be the start of something? My SPD has got much much better since the baby has engaged as his head helps to stabilise my pelvis IYSWIM.

debka · 04/02/2011 20:47

wiggles sounds like SPD to me. Sympathies. :(

40Weeks · 04/02/2011 21:03

I get the same wiggles had it with ds2 but not ds1. It's like everything is relaxing and the pelvis is spreading slightly (or massively?) but it takes a while to stand up straight and also get pains down my thighs, like muscles pulling.

Aren't we lucky?

wigglesrock · 04/02/2011 21:19

40weeks I know - every day brings a new pregnancy joy Grin Pain is infront, you're right it does feel like everything is spreading!!

Grannyapple · 04/02/2011 21:39

Eugh....who was it that said the embarrassing bodies was compulsive viewing?!

I thought so too (mainly because the private hospitals I work for as usually on it) but tonights is actually making me watch it through my hands over my eyes & then I feel physically sick...ESP the operation on the girl who was getting her labia repaired.....then they mentioned that during childbirth it needs to stretch by up to 30cms Shock

I have been fairly calm about the whole birth thing (well he's gonna come out somehow)!

wigglesrock · 05/02/2011 08:32

tadjennyp not sure if you'll be checking messages today, meant to post last night - just wanted to wish you the best of luck for today, hope all goes well xx

Ledkr hope you all have a great weekend at home and really really hope you have no uninvited guests Grin

ZeroMinusZero · 05/02/2011 08:56

Good luck jenny

I had my last day of work yesterday, finally. It feels very strange that I won't be going back there till September, other than the odd staying in touch day.

Still working on finding childcare. We checked out one nursery that was even more expensive than the expensive nursery Shock but also found one that was a bit cheaper, but also has a huge waiting list and we might not get into it. So we're still looking at childminders, too.

Hope everyone gives birth this weekend! :)

WaddlingSheep · 05/02/2011 10:08

Just popping in to say good luck Jenny!

Zero make sure you get plenty of time to put your feet up before the baby arrives!

I had a really panicky dream last night that I was looking after my niece and she'd started crying to be fed and I had no bottles made up, nothing sterilised and I couldn't use the kettle to boil any water! I think it's anxiety and feeling unorganised for the new baby. I feel so stressed - aarrgh!

knittakid · 05/02/2011 10:49

no zero not yet!! I'm not ready!!! Grin

Glad you finished work, I can't wait! (next Tuesday).

Jenny all the best today!

PinkiePoo · 05/02/2011 10:51

Good luck jenny...whoopee, another on the way.

As for me, i am 37 weeks today and having to work/teach for 3 hours this afternoon....which feels like an impossible task after a whole week of doing naff all!!

Have a lovely weekend y'all Wink

JustOneMorePlease · 05/02/2011 13:54

Good luck Jenny and congrats to the new arrivals.

Very exciting, babies will be coming in bulk now we're in Feb.

All well here, shattered and last night went to bed just after my ds's. They had a school disco so after that we were all exhausted. Think I hit the pillow at about 7.45!!! What a lightweight. Already done swimming lessons and this afternoon village panto- they have a better social live than us! At least DH is around at weekends to help with them all.

Looking forward to more baby news!!

40Weeks · 05/02/2011 14:12

Good luck tadjen may your cevix be ripe and favourable! There's a greeting card they don't make yet.

Hope everyone else is ok. Have the afternoon "off" and going for afternoon tea. Feel very posh, and am going to pop into Neals yard in covent gdn to get some bath/shower oil made up with Rose and Jasmine oils and some clary sage for labour.

I keep telling dh to get ready for some bedroom action to help hings along, but when it comes to it I can't - pelvis too sore by the end of the day, and the constant feeling of needing a wee is doing nothing for my libido! Prob won't help buy might be the last time for a while!!!
