Hi ladies-thought I would be adventurous & set up the new thread for the final leg of our journey Grin

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
tadjennyp · 02/02/2011 17:38

I had a day off from the dcs yesterday 40 and really needed it! So tired at the moment and housework seems such a struggle. DVDs on a little too much....

Sending positive labour vibes to everyone who is due! And good feeding ones to little ones already here!

Breezey · 02/02/2011 17:41

angels I have also been feeling very content, if not a bit euphoric for the last few days, (despite not much sleep.) took myself off for a walk on beach after dropping Kids at school in the hope LO might get interested in coming out to see the big wide world. Good mood evaporated rapidly when got home and discovered boiler broke, so no heating & no hot water. Bit panicky as planned home birth with lots of time in bath and hot shower. Now DH says he will look at it ... whats wrong with calling a plumber. He is not exceptionally gifted in that area. Bring back memories of DC no 1, (also a HB) who arrived the same day the washing machine broke. Fortunately the M/W was an Angel who took all the laundry home, and brought it back as new at midday the next day. This was particularly amazing as baby not born till after midnight, and we had to go into hospital too ...

tadjennyp · 02/02/2011 17:46

Hope you get it sorted out soon breezey.

snowangels1 · 02/02/2011 18:12

eau you'll have to bulk buy kettles and put DH on kettle filling and boiling duty to top up the water Wink

breezey feel for you with no boiler - we think our hot water tank has cracked Shock which might mean whole new tank - no heating/hot water AND more workmen with a newborn = not so good Confused . If I were you I'd call a plumber myself - you'll be wanting those baths during your hb I'm guessing.

EauRouge · 02/02/2011 18:17

angels, sounds about right! I'm glad we've got a halogen hob as well, that boils water really quickly. DH just spent ages draining the pool and putting it away and I've been told that I'm not allowed to go into labour tonight Grin

breezey, hope you get the boiler fixed soon! I agree with calling the plumber yourself.

PDR · 02/02/2011 18:26

breezey what a PITA! Get on the phone to a plumber asap!!!!! If they need to order parts you want to get in there before the weekend!

eau am jealous of your lovely big pool Envy!

DS was quite well behaved at the party which makes a nice change! He did refuse to eat anything other than crisps from the buffet though Hmm Sadly no food for adults so have just wolfed down my dinner a bit earlier than usual! Got NCT class later - DH is working so I am yet again attending as a single parent :( They probably all think I have made DH up!

lostfromoz · 02/02/2011 18:28

Don't want to give advice Hubbard as it's my first and it's all a mystery to me but I've had similar symptoms to yours for about a week now (am 37 + 3), though not really with the backache so much...I think the irregular bump tightenings can be BH? With me I feel it's probably just things shifting into gear, but might be different with you. Sure the midwife will help out! Good luck!

wigglesrock · 02/02/2011 18:38

breezy crap about the boiler, get a plumber, our hot water had a bit of a strop last week but we managed to get it sorted out quite quickly - I was standing under a freezing shower, cursing everyone especially Mr Wiggles who had a "great shower" 2 mins earlier Hmm

Eaurouge having a bit of a giggle re running out of hot water, I made that mistake re a paddling pool for girls last year, the poor pets were freezing by the time I had half filled it, needless to say they got bored.

PDR glad ds had a good time, mine never eat anything but crisps most of the time anyway, washed down with a big fruit shoot Grin Have a nice time at your class, Mr Wiggles is conspicious by his absence at a lot of dd1 school things, I'm sure for her first year they thought I was a little delusional.

40Weeks · 02/02/2011 19:51

breezey what an angel midwife! Hope it gets fixed soon, deffo call the experts in!

tadjen how nice to have a day off Smile just to rest and have a break from the routine. I am so over household chores and feeding our damn chickens in the rain. So much washing to do as well, ahhhh I just want to lie down!

Have sent mr 40 out to the supermarket with a list. He is away tomorrow night so need supplies. Am having reflexology tomorrow night, cannot wait!

Breezey · 02/02/2011 19:55

I take it all back, he came home, fiddled with boiler for 20 mins, and its now making promising noises... We'll have to see, as long as he can make it work on the day. I wonder how long the water takes to warm up, (start imagining I'll be in labour by bedtime.) Thanks for encouragement !

snowangels1 · 02/02/2011 20:10

Grin hurrah for mr breezey :)

Got a bit of a shock earlier - got out of bath and got dried and in pjs, went into bedroom (yes, I know, obscenely early) and felt like I was wetting myself - ran back into bathroom to find a wet patch on my pj trousers Blush . Will admit to having a sniff but couldn't really smell anything. Nothing much since so either I've started weeing myself a bit or it was my waters sneaking a little Confused.

40 hope mr 40 gets everything on the list. Mr angels1 usually comes back with loads of cake/sweets/chocolate for himself when I send him to the supermarket.

tadjennyp · 02/02/2011 21:25

Yay for Mr Breezey! Don't you hate it when dhs say that sort of thing wiggles. Would love to go into labour in the next couple of days... Well done on your big pool eau.

40Weeks · 02/02/2011 21:32

Oooh angels what excitement! Keep us posted wont you - am sure if it was wee you would know!

Mr 40 did very well on shopping list, only 2 things he couldn't get, thank god it wasn't choklit

PDR · 02/02/2011 22:12

40 I have reflexology tomorrow too :) Cant wait!

ledkr · 02/02/2011 22:18

good luck angels, hope everyones ok,will you hurry up and have your babies now,i feel so weird and kind of "threadless" having had mine sob sob,dd is so good i seem to be able to mn loads but the other grads must be busy,i dressed her in something other than a baby gro today, little soft trousers and a pretty top and ankle socks up to her groin!
She usually takes 40-50 mls from a 60ml bottle but tonight she drank 60mls for dh and then had another 30mls straight away Shock we just need better weight gain more yellow pooh and a less yellow Delilah and its game on.
I think she is going to be a going thru the night baby as she already sleeps a long period of time and stocks up in the evening.

news flash....dh did some toiletry shopping today and he has just proudly shown me a pack of 18 condoms he bought for later-yeah a lot later Shock

tadjennyp · 02/02/2011 22:25

I love a bit of optimism, don't you ledkr? Grin

janedoe25 · 03/02/2011 07:28

Glad Delilah, is doing well Ledkr LOL at your Dh!

Oh Angels i hope this is it for you, hope u are ok and keep us posted!

Today is my last day of work (until 18th april) and i cant wait for it to be over!

40Weeks · 03/02/2011 07:30

Ha ha at your dh ledkr 18 no less!

Hope you are ok angels

snowangels1 · 03/02/2011 07:47

Nothing exciting to report this morning - sorry to get all hopes up. Maybe it was wee Hmm Blush. Not had any more since. 'Twas odd how it just came out with no control though (nothing like tsumani-ledkr style, just a little trickle bit).

Knew I shouldn't have said I was feeling good this week for possibly the first time since getting pg (finally I felt like I might even be blooming) as back to rubbish today.

Can I join the reflexology club with 40 and PDR as I have it booked for today too Grin

Grin at ledkrs DHs optimism and glad Delilah is feeding a little better.

earlgreyismynectar · 03/02/2011 08:38

Great to hear about Delilah, Ledkr! She sounds adorable! Lol at Mr Ledkr! Grin

You got our hopes up there Angels! Perhaps (tmi) discharge? I hope you get those contented feelings back! I feel very relaxed and happy considering all that is going on but probably can't claim contentment!

It's definately time for more babies! We're going to start to get multiples on some days!

Have a good day ladies!

roundthehouses · 03/02/2011 08:46

morning! great news that delilah is feeding better ledkr, do so love the name! I´m still having far too busy a week for what should be my first week of lying on the sofa eating chocolate! humpf. Finally finished the translation work, now boss has asked me to run up a (pretty complicated) quote. And i don´t really feel i can say no seeing as i skived so much the last couple of weeks. Hey ho. Also went to ds´school yesterday to help make his carnival outfit - almost 2 hours sat on those teeny tiny little chairs! Shock twas a miracle my legs worked afterwards.

Anyway today I have continued the busy theme and washed sofa covers, hung out a load of laundry and swept/vacuumed/ mopped the downstairs. PHEW. Ds announced this morning "mummy the bathroom is tidy but really it is kind of messy. look at all the towels, how messy" Confused Shock figured if my 3 year old notices, it MUST be bad. lol

Still early so going to crack on with the work for my boss and then try and get out to chiropractor.. lymphatic drainage massage this afternoon - CAN´T WAIT!!!

Is anyone else, particularly with small kids, feeling really REALLY short tempered? i am being so so grumpy with ds and can only deal with him for very short periods of time. He is such a lovely little boy and its nothing to do with him which makes me feel so much worse, he is just bang in the middle of the PLAY WITH ME PLAY WITH ME stage and its all really imaginative play that mentally exhausts me. I just want to read/watch tv/MN or be by myself. Makes me feel like such a crap mummy. Sad

wigglesrock · 03/02/2011 08:47

Ledkr dh getting some early Christmas shopping in Grin Hope you and Delilah have a good day. I'm sure Ella is besotted with her.

angels I'm a bit "leaky" too, and am still in cleaning mode, Mr Wiggles is finally off for 2 days so he is changing all the beds this morning, seems to be vitally important to me Hmm

Today is my big hair dye/cut etc appt, so baby can make an appearance anytime from this evening Grin, have been secretly crossing my legs, my hair is soooo bad looking, really looking forward to having it "fixed" or "painted" as dd1 likes to announce, usually in public in front of the schools alpha mums!!

roundthehouses · 03/02/2011 08:51

I agree - more babies please ladies! Wink can´t believe i still have 2.5 - 4.5 weeks to go Shock feel so ready for this baby to come but am only 37.5 weeks so quite likely i have a fair wait still. Absolutely no sign of any movement in the right direction - yesterday my tummy was so hard most of the day like one big long continuous braxton hicks! weird but not painful, he must have been irritating my uterus the way he was lying or something.

I have to say I am sleeping so well in this pregnancy (ducks flying objects from rest of thread) vs last pregnancy. Another reason I don´t feel anything is imminent. i only get up once in the night to pee and can sleep like a rock on my side all night apart from that. Last time I was up 4 or 5 times a night to pee and sleeping with a gazillion pillows behind me to prop me upright. hideous.

wigglesrock · 03/02/2011 08:51

roundthehouses my 5 year old woke up at 5.30am, wanting to play, really not like her, she's off to school now but no doubt will be a monster later because she's so tired. Dd2 is also at that "look at what I've done Mummy" stage which is brillant but she has developed a tendency for sniffing out indelible markers and decorating furniture!!

roundthehouses · 03/02/2011 08:55

wiggles - oh i feel the pain re. markers. on the whole he is really good, no writing on anything on purpose but he does love markers and if i don´t keep a sharp eye he is colouring on the sofa (well on paper but on the sofa which invariably means he ends up colouring the sofa too - hence washing sofa covers today!) or carpet or .. or..

we were both in a STINKING mood yesterday, poor dh was fed up of both of us. I did take ds off for a really long bath together and we played pirates in there quite happily for a good 30mins which hopefully redeemed me somewhat. Find the bath is my best place to play with him these days! lol.
