Hi ladies-thought I would be adventurous & set up the new thread for the final leg of our journey Grin

OP posts:

Haha, I too am suffering with 'the poo thing' along with the 'being headbutted in the cervix' thing (ouch).

prof, really good to see you back! How are you doing?

I packed my hospital bag (just in case) yesterday and today DH is going to do a trial run of inflating and filling the birth pool while my mum takes DD and I out to lunch. DH has threatened that when we get back he will be sitting naked in the pool drinking beer and watching porn Hmm

snowangels1 · 02/02/2011 09:26

lol at eaurouges DH Grin.

PinkiePoo · 02/02/2011 09:32

Speaking of which....i too just had the poo thing Blush but was painful when i was on the loo. I panicked thinking it was a contraction but no, definetly a poo thing!

Also eau been headbutted on cervix all morning....it bloody kills! I am actually gonna die in labour it is official!!

snowangels1 · 02/02/2011 09:50

pinkie I keep forgetting to say I did read your question re: blogs but know nothing on the subject so couldn't help. Hope you got things sorted.

I've been getting the head butted sharp cervix pains for a few weeks on and off - particularly badly in the bath last night. I feel the same as pinkie - if I think this is bad, what on earth will I be like in labour?!

PinkiePoo · 02/02/2011 10:07

snow no worries, blog is up and running! I forgotten how much i love writing, we'll see how long it lasts for once LO is here, but i hope i do as its my way of escaping. www.botoxtobabies.blogspot.com if your a registered user, please follow me!!

do it, do it, do it. Please Grin

Welcome back prof! I've taken over stats duties, but you are welcome to take them back if you wish! Glad you have sorted your tax out.

pinkie I've always fancied blogging, but have never managed to get my ar$e in gear and do it.

ledkr I read your thread, and am so Angry at your self-centred, thoughtless PILs. Your DH really needs to set some ground rules that fit around you and DD. Grr.

I ordered another sling last night, a stretchy wrap, following watching vids on youtube of ladies nursing hands-free. It is dangerous for my DH to work away, as ebay calls to me....

Had a very surreal experience this morning. DH is away working in London, and I gave him my usual 'i'm still alive' call at 8am, and my mum answered the phone... Confused To cut a long story short, my DPs had flown from Singapore to Heathrow, landing first thing this morning, and are making the rest of their journey home to Cornwall by train. Some interesting twist of fate meant that DH and DP's quite literally bumped into each other at Paddington station, given the size of the station and the number of people milling around at rush hour, that's pretty impressive.

Grannyapple · 02/02/2011 10:43

Wow sbf what a coincidence indeed :)

off to bluewater for lamp for baby's room...& to get me out & about & walking!!

knittakid · 02/02/2011 10:50

Very sureal indeed sbf.
Grin Grin at eau, at least it'd mean that the pool is working...

off to check out that blog...

oh, and I've had that poo thing too!

lostfromoz · 02/02/2011 11:13

snowangels I've had the same feelings of contentment...not sure if it's hormones / recovering from month-long cold / baby excitement...but it's very nice to finally feel slightly 'glowing', in some way. Just like you say, I feel so happy with DH! After a few weeks of feeling really cross with him, too.

PinkiePoo · 02/02/2011 11:49

smallblack DO IT!! I also wanted for ages, and once you get past the design part, its easy!! If you have any questions or need help...then just ask away. I am hoping now i am no longer teaching during the week, it will take my focus away from impending labour, eeek!

knitta if you manage to have a look, let me know your HONEST views! I am new to this, so may need a little guidance Grin

ledkr · 02/02/2011 13:27

hi all,Delilah put on small amount of weight but ot enough, still bit yellow too,its really hard to get her to feed if she doesnt want to tho,she feeds non stop in the evening and is very funny, wont go down just wants cuddles,so funny how someone so tiny can have what she wants, been doing lots of skin to skin,my sis who is scbu nurse said the benefits are endless.I just love how relaxed she is when i do it.
Am feeling very tired and run down today,mw said its typical for new mum to be euphoric at first then do too much and crash,i stil cant believe you come home 2 days after a section Shock def too much (esp with my pils)Any news from need to? I may have missed it on the thread skim thru.

ZeroMinusZero · 02/02/2011 13:37

Angels, yes it was good but hardly the greatest in the world that some claim it is. I don't care about that though, I just care about the staff, as long as they're good the rest doesn't matter.

Hi everyone! Just popping in to say hi as got to take DS to a birthday party in a bit.

Still getting the "poo thing" Confused and had some really strong BH last night in bed. They went on for ages but just as I was thinking they might be the start of something they went away and I fell asleep.

knittakid · 02/02/2011 14:16

pinkie it looks amazing and its funny, are you planning on getting paid to do the reviews? that'd be sooo good!

ledkr how's the bottle working? the skin to skin sounds amazing...

ledkr · 02/02/2011 14:55

slow going really, its a cycle, she is jaundiced cos not having enough milk the jaundice makes her sleepy so hard to feed, she has put on some weight tho and poohing and weeing, still yellow tho just got to get her feeding. The bots are like normal ones just orthsdonic teats but the bottlesa are soft so you can give them a little squeeze to help her feed as her suck is fairly weak.

NeedToSleepZZZ · 02/02/2011 15:08

hi ledkr Smile glad delilah is putting on weight, she'll get there in her own good time and you'll remind her how she had the run of things when she's older! can i join you in feeling a bit run down? keep crying today but still so happy. i have a theory that contractions are 9 months worth of period pains (and then some) and the 'baby blues' are the pmt.... must read your other thread...

hello prof! so good to have you back! hope everything is going well.

i hope breastmilk is doing okay and has had her lo now.

by the sound of things i think we're in for a good week next week, birthwise, with all the braxton hicks and cervix head butting going on! has anyone got any news from debka?

ben is doing really well and slept a lot more last night, he's very laid back for the moment...

hubbard86 · 02/02/2011 15:20

hiya ladies, just thought i'd pop in and say congrats to all the new moms and their little angels. Can't believe feb has come around so quickly.
I have to ask a little advice too,
Since yesterday evening i've had constant backache and irregular tightenings across my bump, quite uncomfortable across bottom of bump into my vag. Tmi sorry. Feel quite sick and have been to the loo lots. Am not sure whether this is usual my body getting ready?? or in early labour?? I have midwife appt tomorrow. I've had braxton hicks before but they've never felt like this. I never went into labour with my son so i'm completely at odds what to think. Any feedback greatly appreciated

wigglesrock · 02/02/2011 15:27

hubbard I have felt exactly the same since about Mon afternoon, I was induced with dd2 and can't remember feeling like this with dd1.

needto and ledkr hope you are both taking care of yourselves, getting enough pain relief etc.

hubbard86 · 02/02/2011 15:32

PinkiePoo · 02/02/2011 15:56

Hi hubbard sorry to say I cannot help you as this is my first, so i am a little unsure, but hopefully, this is it for you, unless of course it is really early??

ledkr You sound so calm and collected about everything, really taking it all in your stride. But hope everything gets easier for you soon.

needto great to hear from you. again you sound so chilled out, and don't worry the up and down is all part of the parcel....just don't bottle anything up or be afraid to ask for help!

thank you knitta i really enjoy writing. No i won't be getting paid for any reviews. I think the more the blog becomes popular, then maybe companies take notice but we will see.

Just come back from MW apt. All well, madam is 3/5s head down, so slowly but surely, but she did say head doesn't have to be engaged to go into labour, which i didn't actually realise. Just a little more reassuring when it is i suppose. Just the waiting game now, huh?!

hubbard86 · 02/02/2011 16:18

don't know why it posted twice. Very strange. I'm 36 weeks.

40Weeks · 02/02/2011 16:29

Ooh Hubbard it could be yes, although I don't know if that means it's imminent or just your body preparing itself.

Good to hear from the new mums, needto ben sounds like a little angel! ledkr I read yr other post and can't believe mil - sounds like a right cow. You have my symapthies. I hope dh has set them straight about this weekend.

And welcome back prof glad we didn't upset you!

eau how did it go with the porn pool?

Hope Ll is well in everyone doses world. I have such a sore throat today. Can I book a day off please?

40Weeks · 02/02/2011 16:29

Sorry, "all is well in everyone elses world"

EauRouge · 02/02/2011 17:25

I felt exactly like I was getting my period just before labour started with DD.

Well, the pool only took about 5 minutes to inflate but it's much, much bigger than my hot water tank. Let's just say if my labour is shorter than 4 hours then I won't be getting a water birth!
