Hi ladies-thought I would be adventurous & set up the new thread for the final leg of our journey Grin

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
WanderingSheep · 29/01/2011 22:57

I'm Grin at the fact that he's comparing HVs to MI5 and MI6 spies!

WanderingSheep · 29/01/2011 23:01

needto my friend said that having a bath with lavender oil sped things up for her. Might be worth a try if you've got any or any other essential oils?

I understand how frustrating it is. I remember it well with DD. Chat to us for a while, although I think my battery is going to die in a minute...

wigglesrock · 29/01/2011 23:01

wandering I know he seems a tad obsessed with MI5 and MI6. Anyway off to bed - hopefully won't have any bad dreams of HVs dressed up like black ops studiously taking notes on my house, car, clothes, children, food, books, dog etc Grin

Good luck everyone for tonight x

EauRouge · 29/01/2011 23:12

Yes, I think a relaxing bath might help- have you got any clary sage or rosemary (I think?!), they are meant to help.

NeedToSleepZZZ · 29/01/2011 23:27

Great minds Grin, just had a lovely bath and had a stronger contraction when I got out, this time all over bump rather than just the lower half and back. Using my lavender pillow spray which contains real lavender and is fab.

40weeks I got some rose oil, very yummy, and might massage myself as poor OH has been banished from the bedroom due to his snoring, plus the fact I moan and groan and get up all night so not fair on him! He's in bed now bless him.Now to locate the bone on my cankle... Wink

I have a new book to read, just a thriller (very highbrow!) so easy to read through the night if I can't sleep.

eaurouge love the idea of HVs spying on us in camouflage! That man is such a nutter!

Doubt anything will happen tonight but will let you know as and when....

40Weeks · 30/01/2011 08:10

How are our labouring girlies this morning? Been thinking of you xxx

debka · 30/01/2011 08:58

Morning all!

Any babies yet?

Just cleaned the bathroom! Grin

ozzysocks · 30/01/2011 09:16

Good morning and hello everyone,I realise I am turning up right at the end but wanted to say hello and good luck to everyone :)
I am due on 28th Feb so 4 weeks tomorrow!
I was also chuckling at the HV/MI5 thread last night!
Hope its not too late to join the party ....

snowangels1 · 30/01/2011 09:30

Ohhhh this 'live labour update' thread is so compulsive - I keep wanting to check to see how everyone is doing Grin

Hope needto got some sleep and things are getting stronger - must be so frustrating just waiting for things to properly kick off.

I found out yesterday the post natal rooms in my hospital have flatscreen tvs with freeview on Grin. Not sure how much tv I'll be watching at that point though... Hmm

welcome to ozzy

Keep forgetting to say well done semper re driving test.

I'm off to hunt down this hv thread...

knittakid · 30/01/2011 09:39

Don't they say that just because you are paranoid it does not mean they are not following you?

Want to hear from the labouring ladies but their absence is probably a very good sign!

40Weeks · 30/01/2011 11:03

Welcome ozzysocks the more the merrier, is this your first?

WanderingSheep · 30/01/2011 11:09

I have walked away from the HV thread as it was making me cross and now there are quite a few people agreeing with him! Hmm I know that there are some people have bad experiences with HV but I think that the biggest crimes that HV usually commit are talking out of their arses (at times) as some can be a little old fashioned etc. But they're not spying on you!

Apparently, at my local hospital (not the one I'm going to give birth in) if you take your child to A &E three times before they are 6, SS is informed. I think it's ridiculous as children will be children and are always climbing on furniture, falling over etc. Some children are just accident prone. I was at a child's party once and my friend's DS had a massive lump on his head. She said she had no idea how he'd done it as she hadn't been in the room at the time. Watching him at the party, he fell over about 3 times in the space of an hour! Anyway, my point is that it's not just HV that are keeping an eye out for concerns! I had to do so as a CM. If I had any, I had to write them down and keep them in a file confidentially. The parents wouldn't have seen them! I never had any concerns, btw!

When my new HV comes in around 6 weeks time, my house will be clean and tidy and my DC will be clean, fed and clothed! She can write whatever she wants, I have nothing to hide .

Anyway, rant over! Blush how is everyone today?

Welcome Ozzy! It's not the end, it's the beginning Grin we still have a PN thread to start when all the babies arrive! I still have four weeks left too (due 26th).

WanderingSheep · 30/01/2011 11:12

Sorry Blush got a bit of verbal diarrhoea then!

Do I win a prize for such a long post? Grin

ledkr · 30/01/2011 12:26

Hi ladies, not read thru yet will be doing that next.I got home last night and am ecstatic. She is so perfect i feel like im in love,so much for all my good intentions i never put her down.Dh and dd are also besoted. We all got up in the night with her haha.In laws were unforgivable but i will be starting a thread as need a good rant.No name yet,she is not feeding well but on the up,mw is coming in a bit so ill be back later.Nice to be back here xxx

PinkElephant73 · 30/01/2011 12:55

Congratulations ledkr that's lovely! Hope you get the feeding sorted, my first took ages to get the hang of latching on but was fine. Also hope u get the inlaws kicked into touch...

WanderingSheep · 30/01/2011 12:56

Yay ledkr glad you're home! Nice to "see" you Smile. Sorry that she isn't feeding too well, although I'm sure she'll pick up soon.

PDR · 30/01/2011 14:16

Glad you're home ledkr :) What's the score on the visitor front?

Hope everyone in labour is ok!

debka I've cleaned 2 bathrooms and done 3 loads of washing Grin Nesting... moi?! Made DH do some housework as well as HV is coming to visit in the morning. Will obviously ask if she has any connections with MI5/6 before I let her in Wink

We've also taken DS swimming and I must have grown again since last week as my maternity swimsuit is definately too small now Blush Had to show a little extra cleavage in order to stretch it over my bump Shock!!! Not sure if I'll make it in the water next week - might have to sit in the bar cafe and watch instead!

We are going out tonight with friends Shock Meeting them at 7pm so if I feel awful I we can wolf our food down and come home but as this will probably be the last time in a while I think we should make the most of it! I am not going to eat anything this afternoon so I can fit in a main course and a dessert Grin.

Got a text earlier inviting DS to a party on 13th March - I am due on 18th Feb so worst case senario 4th March if I am not induced sooner. Need to someone trick DH into agreeing to take him - or DM - or anyone in fact Grin!!!! Anyone else's DH crap at doing stuff like birthday parties? I always end up taking him even when they are at weekends Angry more fool me perhaps!

JustOneMorePlease · 30/01/2011 14:37

Lovely to see you are home ledkr and loved up!

I guess things have cranked up for both needto and breastmilk very exciting. I keep having a peek for some news.

Have a lovely Sunday afternoon everyone xx

ozzysocks · 30/01/2011 14:38

This is my 3rd I already have ds1 7yr and ds2 4yr. Really looking forward to having dd1 here soon :) its possible I'll have an ELCS at 39w due to large baby, but It hasn't been decided fully yet.

Congrats to Ledkr and good luck to any labouring ladies
x

smallblackflowers · 30/01/2011 14:43

ledkr lovely to hear that you are home and so besotted with little no-name. I hope you manage to get her feeding sorted soon. xxx

WanderingSheep · 30/01/2011 14:58

PDR my DH hates kids birthday parties with a passion. We had one on Friday night and he had to come with me as I don't drive and it wasn't somewhere I could get to by bus. He usually tries to get away with dropping us off and picking us up but on Friday he had to stay . They are a pain as they're usually at silly times on a Saturday or Sunday (smack bang through lunchtime, which means that you can't go out for the day and are stood starving while all the kids eat). [miserable bugger emoticon]

PinkElephant73 · 30/01/2011 15:25

PDR good luck with your oh. my oh is a bit like that too but he had to help out at scouts a couple of weeks ago, as it was our turn on the family rota, and even he wouldn't make a 37 wk pg woman do it. His idea of hell! I have rarely seen him do anything so ungraciously, had to ask ds afterwards if daddy behaved himself when he got there. Apparently he did thank goodness!

tadjennyp · 30/01/2011 17:56

Glad you are at home ledkr and hope you get the feeding sorted out soon. Hope PIL behave themselves.

Welcome ozzyrocks.

Hope everyone else is feeling fine and we get some more baby news soon.

snowangels1 · 30/01/2011 17:56

just had to pass on a needto update - got a message an hour or so ago to say she's in hospital in proper labour and hopefully baby will be born very soon now.... eeek Grin

Assume no news from breastmilk is good news too :)

Tarlia · 30/01/2011 18:07

Hey! Any news on the labouring ladies? Hope it's progressing well for the both of you and you are resting when you can.

Welcome, ozzy.

ledkr glad to hear you are all enjoying baby no-name even in the middle of the night! Eekk, what did the in laws do?

Thank you so much for all the positive comments regarding inductions. I feel much more informed and able to make a decision if I get to that stage.

Nothing much to report here. Realised I have potentially three weekends with OH until baby arrives - where has the time gone!? He is like a kid before Christmas and has been for some weeks Grin I'm in two minds as scared about the labour part. Keep reminding myself all will be forgotten when I have baby in my arms.
